As a counselor, I use this book with younger children (ages 5-8 primarily). It has activities so the kids can move around as we read through the book. I certainly would not recommend this as a bedtime book, but it is a fun book to read together and talk about personal space and boundaries. It gives you a fun way to talk about these topics later on that doesn't sound like a lecture which I think parents always find very beneficial.

My 1st graders spent 2 lessons to learn about personal space camp. They LOVED this book and we paused to do some of the activities that Louis did with his class. A great lesson that young children need to learn.

Great for teaching personal space to a Pre-K 4yo. We read it and now he thinks he is an expert on 'personal space'! Concepts shown are very easy to understand and demonstrate to young children. I recommend this and the workbook to every teacher and parent who are looking for fun book on personal space.

This book is a great resource for teachers, guidence counselors, and librarians! Children need to learn the importance of "personal space," and this book explains it very well in a fun way, that can be put into practical use in the classroom! A 5-star salute!

Great books for parents and teachers to use with younger children that have issues with personal space. Very creative way to get the message across and to keep the child's attention. Pictures are also great.

I love this book. I work with young children who often have problems with Personal Space and this book is a regular part of the therapy plan. There is a workbook that goes with it that is also. I love the pictures and the story, but most of all I love Lewis. Great book, great resource and one of my favourites.

As a counselor, I'm always looking for resources focused on personal space and boundaries. This is the only book I have found that truly addressed the social skill and offers students hands-on ways to deal with the problem. The hula hoop, bubbles, rope for standing in line, etc. are all great tangible ways to teach kids about boundaries. I wish there were more resources out there!

Perfect! Excellent!!! My kindergartner has been having trouble at school JUST like the little boy here. He loved this. It is clear on its lesson but it is a story and interspersed with zippy rhyme about his space ship. Made a huge difference. He could relate to this book!!!

My 5 year old has been having difficulty with personal space, and this book was suggested by the school counselor. My son loved it and I loved how it explained personal space in a way the kids can understand. It is a little bit wordy, but entertaining enough to hold his attention. Fun mixed with a lesson that doesn't go over their heads.
