A second chance love story that spanned a decade but was destined to last a lifetime.
A love that took hold in the souls of two youngsters and that never let go, even when they did always holding on to the fact that they would find their way back to each other.
A love that refused to be defeated even when the battle it was fighting was with the hearts of those that it consumed.
This took the opportunity of finding that special someone and held on, through thick and thin, this was about finding what was meant to be and to then accept that it was time to stop looking…a journey completed.
Ember Warren wanted one thing when she was younger, the one thing her mother said she couldn’t have…Jackson Cane. He was everything her heart desired and everything her mother knew would break that heart in two and when college beckoned and Jackson left, that heart didn’t break…it shattered.
So, a decade on and Jackson is back and the boy that left has grown up into a man that knows his own mind and regrets the fact that he left Ember behind but reasons were as plentiful as the regret that kept it company every step of the way.
Could they find a way to mend the damage between them, after all their hearts knew each other instantly?
Were they going to allow what they had to remain a memory or could they start over?
Of course, there is more to this than just them finding their way back to each other because that path is littered with so many secrets and lies, and not just little itsy bitsy ones, no these have the capacity to totally change their future.
A solid read that was beautifully written and wonderfully descriptive. Highly recommended

There are few things I like more than a thoughtful and swoon worthy second-chance romance and Tia Louise hit the bullseye with When We Touch. Sweet, spicy cupcakes this book was divine.

There was something about Ember that had me rooting for her from page one. She was kind and determined to make her dreams come true. All while making sure her exuberant little girl had every opportunity she wanted. What she never expected was for Jack's return. The one who stole her heart as a teen, took it with him when he left Oceanside. He never gave it back and she never quite recovered. What she didn't know was that Jack lost his heart too. But he was determined, no matter the obstacle, even if it was Ember, to win her back. To make up for lost time and to have the future they had been denied for years.

While every story needs a villain, I didn't expect it to be who it was in this one. When the truth of what really happened between Jack and Ember came out I was just as hurt as they were. Thank goodness for the sweet innocence of Coco to lighten up some of the heavy that seeped into the pages. I was so glad when Ember found her voice and stood up for what she wanted and who she wanted to be. And there to stand beside her, and let her shine was Jack.

Insert a big happy sigh here. From penis cakes to small town antics and big city problems, When We Touch left me smiling from ear to ear. Jack and Ember's story proves that, even when the odds are stacked against you, true love always finds a way.

4.5 stars!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I voluntarily accepted an advanced reader copy of this book.

I love second chance romances and this one was really sweet. Ember and Jackson had a forbidden romance when they were kids. Jackson was Ember's first everything. They shared a passionate night before he left for college, he was 3 years older, and never looked back. Fast forward 10 years later. It will have you wondering what happened that these two weren't together.

Ember mom is very controlling, manipulative, holier than thou mother that thinks that the things that happens to "sinners" is Gods way of punishment. Ember made some mistakes along the way but never could forget Jackson and vice versa. When he returns and he sees her he immediately wants her back but she didn't feel the same way.

Lots of lies separated them ten years ago that they weren't aware of. When it was discovered and cleared the air these two were steamy. The relationship finally started to progress and they picked up where they left off ten years ago.

But then another bump in the road and I swear I never wished for a character to be killed off as badly as Ember's mom. That lady was evil and heartless. To her surprise Ember wasn't being fooled anymore and her and Jackson were a team. They got over that bump and finally got their HEA.

They were some characters that were funny and some that just needed to disappear, lol. And Coco was just, ❤️.

Slow sensual, sexy, thrilling, ride!!!

Tia Louise have done it again!!! I loved every single minute of this second chance romance story "When We Touch." I just love me a second chance romance story and Tia Louise have our done herself yet again and have given us one fantastic read. She did her job by making me fall in love with Jackson and Emberlyn's story.

This is one second chance roman that will make you have more than the FEELS. This storyline will break your heart and make you blush all at the same time and let's not get started on the seconds characters, Ms. Betty was by far one of my favorites and also Tabby. I have to say that I always look forward to what Ms. Tia Louise has in store for us readers and of course she didn't disappoint.

This was a turbulent tale of 2nd chance love.
Ember and Jackson were in love over ten years ago. He was leaving to go to college but was supposed to come back. Events conspired against them and Jackson never returned. Ember grew up but never forgot her first love, not even when a one night stand resulted in an unplanned pregnancy.
When a stressed up Jackson returns to his small hometown to tune out his high powered job as a lawyer, he never expects to meet Ember again. The sparks reignite but Ember’s not ready to give in so easily. It’s not just her heart that’s at stake now, she has to think of her daughter CoCo. CoCo is an adorable but wilful child, it’s hard not to like her and Jackson falls under her spell as easily as he does her mother’s. He’s ready to fight for their everything, he just has to tie up soon lose ends of a troubling case which he left dangling when he left the city.
Those lose ends, and an unhinged mother causes all sorts of problems for both Jackson and Ember. Both are left reeling from the news they each receive.
Can they make it through the mess set in motion but other parties not vested in their interests or will they lose everything they ever wanted?
Jackson is a hot, sexy lawyer with a soft centre and a sweet smile. Ember is strong-willed and determined. Feisty and seductive. The chemistry between them made for some HAWT smexy scenes.
All in all, I loved this story.

When Jackson Lockwood comes to a crossroads in his career, he decides to return to the one place that he ever really felt was home. He knows things have changed there, and the one person who made it feel like home won't be there to welcome him with open arms...

Emberly Warren is working hard to make her business successful, and she has a lot of things on her plate which require her attention. The last thing she ever expects is to see Jackson... ever again...

It doesn't take long for old feelings to come roaring back... but while the deceptions from their past still haunt them, will Jackson and Emberly ever be able to move forward together...

This story was a sweet, second chance romance filled with young love and small town secrets. I loved Jackson and Emberly's relationship, and that once they clear the air from their past, they don't spend a lot of time with indecision about being together. They know they are getting a second chance and don't want to squander it. But, with the forces at work who kept them apart from the beginning, they will have to fight for their relationship once and for all.

Heartwarming and sexy, Jack and Ember's story is a delightful sentiment of true love finding it's way...

I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.

This is one of those wonderful intense reads that delivers everything you want. This story is about friendship, love and second chances. I found it to be well written with twists and turns, peaks and valleys, and OMG moments.

When Jackson and Ember meet for the first time a decade after their teenage romance, they know they are still in love. I love that they are older yet have that off-the-charts chemistry we all hope to actively have later in our lives.

Jackson and Ember not only have to fight to escape her mother’s strict views but also to come to terms with painful secrets and a traumatic past. The love story is occasionally funny, sometimes tear-inducing and very, very heartwarming! It is angsty, emotional and beautifully written. You actually feel the electricity crackle off the pages reading about these two.

Distant memories of young, passionate love are revived and spark an intimate, romantic connection to remind them-and us- that Love is never ending. I highly recommend this read. Love, suspense, and drama at its best!

Second chance romance are my kryptonite, I'm a sucker for them.
Let me tell you that I reading this book brought some memories, memories of why I started to read romance, stories with comedy, tragedy, angst and love.
Jackson and Ember story broke my heart and made me feel so strange afterwards. I was in a cloud

Jackson had a future in one hand and the girls of his dream in another, but distance is a bi*** and will make you pay no matter what.

Ember had the love of his life for one last summer, but destiny is written in stone, and her plans disappeared the day that Jackson left her.

10 years later Jackson needs to make his life better again, going back to his hometown was needed, he just didn't expect to find the girl that broke his heart in the same place.

Kisses that burn, looks that can kill and fire like they never feel when they touch is everything they ever wanted.

This book was not only amazing but out of this world, Tia's writing is marvelous and I. Nat wait to read more of her!( happily popping my tia cherry)

I love second chance romances, but this one didn't tick all my personal boxes. I wanted more details...I wanted more information about what happened in the 10 years they were apart rather than a part thrown at me here and there. I was also surprised at how quickly they got back together...I wanted more groveling. I guess I just wanted more overall. I did like the characters, especially Chad and Tabby (hope they are going to get a bit more story) I just didn't fall for Ember and Jack as much as I expected to.

In the prologue we are introduced to young lovers Jackson and Ember. Ember is still in high school but Jackson is preparing to leave for college in the fall. This is their summer and the young lovers make plans for their future. Ten years later we find that things didn't pan out the way everyone expected. What happens when these two set eyes on each other again? Will the secrets and lies from the past prevent them from grabbing a future?

Overall a good read and I will read more of this author.

I received an Advance Reader Copy for When We Touch written by Tia Louise and voluntarily reviewed this book. Romeo and Juliet were not the only young lovers who were conspired against for purely selfish reasons! Beautiful and well-written story of a tender, young love, which touches you in the heart about a decade later, when both Jackson and Ember meet again in their hometown, both trying to get a new start on their lives. With a such a large chunk of time now passed, they have somehow managed to remain the same, but now being with each other again was as if they had never been apart, at least in the way they feel for each other. Once they slowly unravel what had happened those many years ago to make them change course from each other, will they get a chance to be together, with so much hurt, lies, and secrets between them?

Jackson & Ember were childhood sweethearts. They made plans to be together always only when he left for college, he never came back for her. Ember has gradually made a life for herself and her little girl. Her bakery dreams and each moment of every day revolve around taking care of her sweet daughter. Jackson thought he was at the top of the world when he uncovers something that sends him spiraling down. Going back home seems to be the answer. He didn't know she was still there and the moment he saw her, he knew what he had been running towards. Is it ever too late for a second chance? Can forgiveness be given and secrets come to light?
This was a beautiful second chance romance and I recommend!

4.5 Stars for me

I absolutely loved this second chance romance. Ember and Jackson have known each other since childhood. There are first loves, first heartbreaks, lies, deceit and plenty of plot twists in this fantastic romance. There's also a genuine small town feel to the story. Add in hilarious supporting characters, a gorgeous 4 year old and a hideous stuffed squirrel and you've got the very best kind of second chance love story. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for an easy, fun read.

5 Star Review by Jodi for Ruby Red Romance Review

I'm honestly not sure where to begin this review. Well, I guess I am, but I didn't want this book to end. I loved this book. I even read through dinner, because the story had me so wrapped up. I mean who doesn't love a good second chance love story. I know I do.

Oh, Jackson, he captured my heart from the very beginning of this story and just wouldn't let go. I went to bed last night thinking about how much I loved this character. Have you ever read a book and wanted the characters to be real. Or have you ever been so engrossed by a story that they felt real. That was When We Touch for me. I felt such emotion for both Ember and Jackson that, I just wanted everything to work out. I wanted it all to be alright for them.

The only thing I will say is that it's never good to have meddling parents. Lord, the things Ember and Jackson went through, all because of their parents. For me, this is a story I will read over and over again. Tia Louise is one of my favorite authors and she knocked it out of the park with this book. I hope you all fall as head over heels in love with this book as I did.

I absolutely love a second chance romance and I am also a bit sweet on Ms. Tia Louise's fabulous characters and amazing storylines. How could I go astray with When We Touch !!
This is young love that was so hopeful and strong for a future together. Little did Jackson and Emerbly know that their past would dictate their future.
Emberly is young, sweet and so in love with Jackson. Jackson has never known a love so strong as the one he feels for Ember.
When Jackson leaves for college it is agreed that they will wait for each other, but life happens and people can change...so they think! Tia did an amazing job at writing a believable and indebt cast of supporting characters. You may love some but love to hate the others. They all have their role to play!
I loved the beautifully written heart touching story of their second chance!!!
I was provided with an arc in return for my honest review.

It was a really nice second chance story. I enjoyed the how it was both sweet & sexy with great chemistry. Ember & Jackson lost touch when he went away to college & left Ember heartbroken when he didn't come back. And Jackson had thrown himself into school & work thinking Ember moved on without him. I'm glad he wasn't a jerk based on what he thought to be true. Instead he looked for the truth to what had caused their breakup & made it his mission to never lose her again.

It was touching, compelling, pulled a full chuckles and definitely some tears. Ember and Jackson shouldn't have had to have a second chance. Their love never should've been torn apart to begin with. But I guess that's what happens when the people that are supposed to love us unconditionally as a parent are so locked up in anger and bitterness.. However, they did get the second chance and well deserved happily ever after!

I absolutely loved Jackson & Ember's story!! Tia Louise created such a brilliant tale of two people who fell in love at such a young age, but circumstances beyond their control tore them apart. And when they are reunited after 10 years, sparks still fly. Jackson and Ember truly were soul mates, no matter what anyone thought or tried to do to keep them separated. This book was simply wonderful and I can't say enough good things about it!!

When We Touch is a classic second chance romance that was a good read for me. It was the classic story of a boy falling for the girl and forces beyond their control keep them apart and then years later finding each other again, even though that wasnt the plan.

Second chance romance is my all time favorite romance genre and when I new Tia Louise was writing this one I knew I had to read it. The romance between Jackson and Ember is thoughtful and really well written but I found some of the choices Ember makes outside of what is going on with Jackson seemed forced and to be honest strange so much so that I was at times turned off from her. That being said I loved most of the secondary characters especially Coco and Tabi they definitely helped to drive the story. The mystery surrounding Jackson and Ember was well written and the reasons behind keeping them apart made sense as well - there is definitely what I would call villain to the story.

All in all, I would recommend When We Touch if for nothing else the romance between Jackson and Ember.

When We Touch by Tia Louise is an excellent book. This is a beautiful, emotionally moving second chance romance. It is the story of Jackson and Ember. It is a story of young love that is lost and what happens when fate sees fit to give these characters another chance at HEA. This poignant story is sure to touch your heart, while the drama, secret, surprises and heartbreaking betrayals shall keep your interest.

The makings of a great story and you won't want to put it down. Your heart breaks for Jack and Ember and the life they could have had. You will go through many emotions. In the end it is all worth it. Another great read by Tia Louise

I love second chance romances and When We Touch had everything I enjoy about them and then some. Heart, heat and humor were abundant. Some angst too. Being from a small town myself, I could easily relate to the busy bodies and gossiping old ladies. This book was a great time!

Such a beautiful sugarsweet romantic love story, it brightened my day reading it. I loved both characters and how they find together after being ripped apart, I smiled with them, I held my breath, I even cried a bit and laughed out loud too. My favorite though is Coco, she is just so adorable. This book was just what the doctor prescribes in these dark days!

Tia Louse is one of my favourite authors to read. I just Adore her stories. When We Touch is A Sweet, Beautiful, Second chance Romance with a lot of angst which I could not get enough.

Ember and Jackson will make you fall in love with them and you wish that the story never end. I Highly Recommend all the readers to read this amazing book.

This book gave me all the feels! Pretty angsty (I certainly wanted to punch a few characters), steamy highs, heartbreaking lows, and plenty of giggles. Tia did a fabulous job with Jackson and Emberly...and the supporting characters. Really enjoyed and would definitely recommend!
