Very good book. Matt Chandler showed a legitimate and convincing understanding of the book of Philippians. Would encourage every Christian to read this book. "For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain."

Although I'm partial (and are a Matt Chandler fan), this book was awesome. Although it wasn't a line by line exposition of Philippians, it hit some high points and ran with them. I enjoyed the back story and how he linked to Acts.

Matt Chandler brings added dimension and understanding to Paul's ministry and, I highly recommend his book. It's keeping with scripture with the added social, historical and geographic elements, he brings the biblical figures to life. He draws us into the era of ancient biblical writing with a modern feel.

If you wonder what Christianity is about, have a read. A true home run here, there is just so much to take in, I will definitely spend time reading it again with intent.

If you want a true outlook on how to live out your gift of salvation, then read this book.

Thanks Matt, a true inspiration

We went through this book in my community group. Every chapter unpacked and revealed sin, convicted, and reminded me of grace. He really does a great job of breaking down Paul's letter, piece by piece, to show how desperately lost we are without Christ. You will be spurred to actually do something with your faith. Put feet to it, as you were created to do.

This book really makes you think. It helped me to realize a lot of things, one of which was that we read the chapters of the bible so often and we have no idea how much knowledge, wisdom and truth is in it.

Matt takes through the heart of Paul and explains the book of Phillipians well. This is a great book for anyone who is yearning to know more about God and his steadfast love. Teaching to be content with the life we live in Christ, and to have a yearning and an angst for "not the gifts but the Giver". I absolutely love this book and recommend it for anyone.

Joy, contentment and maturity in Christ. A message that needs to be embraced by Christians today. There is nothing more pathetic and sad in my mind then a person who has been a Christian for some time and lives in a state of arrested development. It's time to grow up!

Matt Chandler walks you through Paul's letter with a blend of pastoral care, confrontation, and even humor. This is a very accessible treatment of Philippians that you will find yourself underlining with heartfelt "Amen!"

Chandler does an amazing job expositing Paul's letter to the Phillipians. His candor, humor, & ability to convey scripture in an accessible way make this an excellent read. He takes verses we "find on coffee mugs" and shows them for what they really are-a passionate call for us to follow Jesus.

Great and very inspirational book to learn about what is mean by to live is to know Him. Spot-on theological argument throughout and memorable illustrations. I totally fired-up as I turned pages. It was worth buying the book!

Fantastic book. Have read many times, and lead many small groups through the book. Really great at helping us understand the role church planters play, church leaders, and church members. The dynamics behind all of that. It also does a great job at showing how followers of Christ have no reason to not live as Paul of the New Testament did. To live is Christ, and to die is gain is a great idea and is seen all throughout the Bible. Matt Chandler does not shy away from this truth. I strongly suggest this book, and even the video series, for anyone interested in the dynamics of a biblical Christian life.
