3.5 stars---CRASHED OUT is the first installment in Tessa Bailey’s contemporary, adult MADE IN JERSEY erotic romance series focusing on the members of the rock band Old News. This is lead singer and front man Sarge Purcell, and blue collar worker/former singer Jasmine Taveras’s storyline.
Told from dual third person perspectives CRASHED OUT focuses on a forbidden love between rock star Sarge Purcell, and Jasmine Taveras-a woman seven years his senior and the muse to his writing success. Growing up in Hook, New Jersey, a much younger Sarge fell in love with his sister’s best friend Jasmine Taveras. Jasmine was the focus of every dream, every fantasy and every song he has ever written. Fast forward to present day, when the band takes a much needed break for the Christmas holidays, Sarge returns to Hook, after a four year absence, to seduce the woman he has always loved. What ensues is an erotic affair between two people who have known one another most of their lives.
CRASHED OUT follows the building relationship between twenty two year old Sarge Purcell, and twenty nine year old Jasmine Taveras. Jasmine is a woman stuck in a blue collar job in Hook, New Jersey when the singing career she always wanted never failed to materialize. Sarge is the boy from Hook who made it big on the music stage, and the man who has come home to claim what it is he has always wanted-Jasmine Taveras.
We are introduced to Jasmine’s best friend and Sarge’s older sister River Purcell, and her three year old daughter Marcy. River’s life as a single mother has not been easy as she works two jobs to support her daughter and herself ; and band manager James Brandon, and Old News drummer Lita Regina-who may or may not have a thing for one another. Lita has a habit of getting herself into trouble, and James is the one constant always bailing her out, and standing by her side.
CRASHED OUT is a storyline with graphic sexual text. Sarge likes to talk dirty in the bedroom but at times the ‘dirty’ crosses a line into ‘rude, crude and crass’. The age difference between the characters is amplified by Sarge’s raunchy expressions and phrases both in and out of the bedroom. The premise gets lost in the numerous sex scenes and dirty talking bad boy that does not compensate for the lack of sexual chemistry between our leading couple. And the constant reminders about the age difference was disappointing although Jasmine’s lack of maturity seemed at odds with the storyline premise.
Tessa Bailey writes a predictable but entertaining storyline about forbidden romance and falling in love. The characters colorful, animated and engaging; the romance is erotic and provocative; the happily ever after finds our couple singing the praises of togetherness and love.

Warning you will need a cold shower after reading Tessa Bailey's Crashed Out. Tessa is definitely the Queen of Filth (her dirty talk is fantastic). Tessa has an art form of making her heroes just say the dirties things that will melt your panties off. Not only that, her stories are fantastic.
So, we have Sarge Purcell who was able to get out his small town New Jersey and make a name for himself. He has come back to get the girl that has haunting him forever out of his system. Sounds like a fantastic plan. Now the girl who has capture his attention, Jasmine Taveras. Jasmine has always dreamt big, but when life didn't go according to plan she had to stay in her hometown living with the shame of never making it big.
How do these two fit together? Technically they don't. Sarge has had a crush on Jasmine forever, but we also need to know that she is his senior by seven years. It does seem like a lot when she's almost pushing 30 and he's 22. However, they seem to work well in the sex department, but there is a slight problem and it's the age difference. I forgot to mention Jasmine is best friend with Sarge's older sister. Okay, that does make a little complicated. Sarge doesn't sees a problem, Jasmine is the one with the real problem. Hey whatever floats his boat. Honestly, I don't have problem with the age gap, because he's been on the road touring for four years and that ages you in experience quickly.
Anyway, I enjoyed Crashed Out. I did enjoy Sarge and Jasmine's story. If you are looking for that hot, dirty talk that might melt the panties off, you might enjoy Crashed Out.

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
When it comes to contemporary romance novels, I have to say that Tessa Bailey's name is among the top of my list. Whether it's a BDSM-themed book, a sexy action romance, or heroes who love to talk dirty, she always entertains me with her stories. Crashed Out is no different. I am not really a fan of older woman/younger man stories, but I make an exception for amazing writers like Ms. Bailey. As it turns out, I am not wrong in this.
Crashed Out is sweet, sexy, and even funny at times. The heroine is older than the hero, but any reader wouldn't even get to focus on that fact. What you would gravitate to as a reader was the obvious chemistry between the main characters, the smooth character development that happens throughout the book, and the swoonworthy things that the hero does to win the girl.
I am also not a fan of rockstar heroes, but this hero is different from any rockstar you meet in fiction. He's a good guy whos fame didn't blow his ego too much. I think Crashed Out is a good way to start the series. It gets you hooked into the story and makes you look forward to more stories at the same time. I will really be on the lookout for more books from this series and from Ms. Bailey herself.

Sarge is the lead singer for Old News, a band whose lyrics are so dirty they aren't suitable for kids. He comes back to New Jersey to see his sister and meet his 3 year old niece for the first time. His sister is worried about what it will do to his niece when he leaves, so she gets her best friend, Jasmine, to let him stay with her. The thing is Jasmine has been the inspiration for every single one of Sarge's songs and she has no idea.
Jasmine was determined to make it as a singer but never did. She ended up stuck in New Jersey working in a factory. When she sees Sarge for the first time in four years, she doesn't realize it is him and is instantly attracted to him. For her, the biggest problem is that she is seven years older than him. She worries what the town will think if they have a relationship.
The lust between Sarge and Jasmine is super hot. There are several steamy scenes in this book and I loved them! The writing style was excellent and the characters were very relatable. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

What happens when you discover the little boy you used to babysit has been in love with you for years? What if that "Little boy" is now a sexy up and coming rock star?
Jasmine has to answer those questions in Crashed Out. Sarge comes home to see his sister and niece while his band is on a break over the holidays and ends up staying with Jasmine. He does nothing to hide his attraction to her and when she finally gave in, their sexy time made my kindle steam!
These two are more than just sexy time, Ms. Bailey also gives them opportunities to build a relationship. For some reason, they both seem to think that Jasmine has to stay in the New Jersey town where the grew up and that leads to heartache when Sarge has to leave (or thinks he does). I loved how his sister, who is also Jasmine's friend, pushes her to go find Sarge and be with him.
Crashed Out is not a long book, so we don't get too in depth with feelings and back story. But, it's just right for a satisfying quick read with characters that you can easily like and root for.

Crashed Out was completely different from what I expected. I absolutely loved Sarge. He is the type of character a reader can connect with deeply, or it felt that way with me. Jasmine is a good strong character who does all the things she needs to. I just didn't connect well with her. Tessa Bailey's characters are all well written. They all interacted as I would have expected real people to, mostly. The story is sweet and very hot. The heat between Sarge and Jasmine is full on nuclear. Be prepared to have a cold beverage near by. These two know how to heat up pages. The whole book isn't about them hooking up it has a lot of hard decisions and choices that need to be made. Things are not always easy. I really loved his sister River as well. Sarge just is the kind of guy every woman wishes for whether it is as a brother, lover, or friend. This is the perfect book to pick up and warm up with.

Jasmine used to babysit Sarge. He grew up knowing he wanted a future with her. A fantasy that never had a chance of coming true.
Sarge has come back to his hometown all grown up. He realizes what he has missed out on. He regrets waiting so long to come back. Only he could not have made himself come sooner.
Jasmine sees the grownup version of Sarge as a threat to her health. He is so hot that he causes a heatwave whenever he is near. Can she resist the man he has become?
I found myself so anxious to get to the end of the story. This book has characters that just move you to feel so many things. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. What a hot and fun book!

In trademark Tessa Bailey style, the dirty talking, fast rocking Sarge is on hiatus from his very successful band to regroup and claim the woman who has eluded him for years. She's his older sister's best friend, his ex babysitter, and the star of many fantasies. But that was then and this is now and Sarge is all grown up, a muscular toned hottie with a determination to make Jasmine see him for the man he's become. Trouble is, Jasmine has been stuck in Hook New Jersey just a little too long now, with her dreams of making it as a professional singer dusty and forlorn. She's accepted her lot as a factory worker making ends meet. Though Sarge might be able to convince her to explore their newfound attraction, she's not going to let him throw away the next stage of his career by staying with her, no matter the chemistry between them. Can Sarge convince Jasmine that if she'll just take a chance with him, they can soar together?
It's getting to the point that I have some clear expectations where a book by this author is concerned. Lots of sexual tension, interesting and down to earth settings, hot hot sex with a man who clearly knows his way around a woman's body, and generally speaking, women who either have that feistiness innate to their character or develop it as they gain confidence from the attentions of a hot male in their midst. I really liked Sarge's character in this story. The rock star persona was an interesting characteristic that gives the reader the background to understanding why he's been away, and also why he's returned to Hook to reconnect with his sister, meet his 3 year old niece, and convince Jasmine that he's not the little boy she thinks he is anymore. It's kind of a rock star story, but kind of not, since the band is on hiatus (though we do get to see some of the other members in the story) but the fame still follows Sarge around when he's out in public. He comes across as very mature (22 years old, but 4 years of that on the road with a rock band will cause you to grow up fast), a man who knows what he wants, and a man who is comfortable in his own skin. Jasmine is the unsure factor here, she of the broken dreams and barely satisfying life as a factory employee with a singing voice that's been put to rest, presumably for good. She's a good friend to River, Sarge's sister though, and that comes through clearly. I really liked that when River found out that Sarge and Jasmine were sleeping together she didn't freak out over it, but accepted it like an adult and it didn't become a source of conflict for them. The age difference between Sarge and Jasmine is an issue at first, but fortunately not for long as Jasmine realizes that Sarge is not just interested in her on a whim, but that she's been his muse for his music for years and that his feelings for her are much deeper than she would have ever imagined.
So of course, the sex is a big part of the story, and with the chemistry between them their love scenes were super hot! If I had one complaint it would be that the dirty talking was a little over the top for me in this one. I can't believe people actually talk like that in real life and though sometimes a turn on, there were some phrases that definitely made me aware of Sarge's younger age (I'll leave you to read the story and figure out which ones I'm talking about). The plot moves along fairly predictably, and the secondary characters give some insight into future stories that will be told in the series. Overall, I found it an enjoyable and sexy read. 4 stars.

Who says you can never go home again?? Sarge Purcell left Jersey four years ago trying his best to put Jasmine Taveras out of his head yet she shows up in every song he writes. He knows without a doubt she's his heart, his muse, his everything. He's home now and he plans to prove to Jasmine he's no longer just her best friends kid brother. He's all grown up and all man and ready to claim her as his, age difference be damn!
A very well done story that will grab you right from the start. Excellent story, great characters and of course some amazing sexy times make this a fantastic read. I highly recommend it.

First it was the virgin hero (Off Base), then came the teacher x student trope (Need Me), and now it's all about older woman x younger guy dynamics in Tessa's Made in Jersey series. Similar to the feelings of trepidation in the first trope I mentioned, this latest book by Tessa can get tricky if not handled right. On the one part, I'm glad the author's exploring more trope and character dynamics and digging deeper into motivations for a richer character development.
The story was about rock star Sarge Purcell returning to to his hometown and the woman he left behind. After the many Tessa Bailey books I've read, I realized that in this book, it's the guy who's the main character more than the typical female in most romances. Sarge wears his heart on his sleeve loud and proud. Maybe that's the youth factor thing, but I liked that he was also a quintessential dirty talking alpha who knew how to romance a woman like nobody's business. The way he talked about Jasmine Taveras from his youth to the present day left no question that he was truly in love with her. It was evident in their every encounter both steamy and non-steamy scenes. Aside from his obvious love for Jasmine, Sarge also has a soft spot for his family, especially his niece. There's really something special about guys who turns into a puddle of goo with children, and Sarge was no exception. I wish there was more page time for Sarge and his sister River, but since she's going to get her own book, it's all good.
I have a few reservations about Jasmine, though. I think it has something to do with Sarge being the more dominant character in the book, but there was not enough exposure for her character apart from what was mentioned about her youthful ambition, her own failure to reach her dreams, and her angst in having a mediocre job. There was a lot that could be culled from her issues, but she didn't have that much page time as much as Sarge had. But Jasmine had golden moments in certain scenes, especially towards the end of the story.
So did Tessa handle this trope with the right treatment? You bet she did! And since we're talking about the queen of dirty talk here, you can expect this swoon-worthy read to be scorching hot. Just don't forget to get a fan. ;)

Wow! Tessa Bailey is my favorite author, and she did not disappoint with this one! Super steamy, this older woman(29) younger man(22) story had it all going on. Sarge has had it bad for Jasmine for years--he's on a break from his bands tour and returns home for a Christmas visit. He decides it's time to finally let her know how he feels, and lots of sexy times occur ;) Tessa writes the dirty talking alpha like no one else, and Sarge is no exception. I loved these characters so much. This was an amazing read, and I look forward to the next books in the series!!

LOVE Tessa Bailey's books! Just recently discovered her and have voraciously read every single one of each series. Crashed out is my hands down favorite. Sarge's devotion and adoration for jasmine is so hot--the chemistry was amazing! I love how Ms. Bailey manages to make her alpha males in all of her books show their emotions with just enough desperation to make them oh so sexy. DEFINITELY recommend crashed out--you'll be hooked on the whole series...and then her other series in no time!

Love, love, LOVE all things Tessa Bailey. Crashed Out is the first book in a new series that should be on everyone's TBR. Sarge! Oh Sarge! So much passion, so much heart. This is the type of hero that sears into my soul. The love Sarge has for Jasmine it's so pure and beautiful it will fill your soul to brimming. And be prepared for heat so hot it will leave your kindle smoking! Ooooooh-weeeee! Absolutely brilliant read!

Once again, I have so many dirty quotes, my Kindle looks like one giant highlight. But don’t worry, those are woven in between the meat of the story. I’m not sure how Tessa does it, but she creates such great characters, with real struggles and faults, and you become engrossed in their story, feeling their doubt, heartache, and eventually love. Sarge had to compete with Jasmine hung up on their age difference, but also that she’s unhappy with how her life has ended up. It was hard watching Sarge struggle to overcome Jasmine constantly pushing him away, but Tessa made it all better with hot bedroom scenes and Sarge’s sweet and dirty persistence.

Jasmine didn’t know the reason her best friend’s younger brother Sarge left, now four years later he is coming back to town a rock star. He plans on letting Jasmine see the man he has become. This is a fast paced steamy read, Sarge is hot! Looking forward to more in the series!

My copy was given by Netgalley for my honest review. Honestly I was a little thrown off by the heavy dirty talk and explicit sex details. I get that Sarge is the sexy musician with the forever crush on his older sister's best friend. He learned a lot of tricks in his four years away. Jasmine has been stuck in their old town working the factory instead of pursuing her singing dream. I would have liked to have read about her feelings and desires. Instead we get a lot of Sarge and his feelings and excessive talking. I almost didn't finish this one but I just decided to skim read the rest. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for this kind of book today.

Tessa, How is it possible to get hotter and hotter with every book? Sarge and his dirty mouth along with his confidence of what he wants makes an alpha male I wish I could take home. Then there is Jas who has decided she will be nothing more than a factory worker and has kind of given up because of fear. Sarge makes her feel beautiful, sexy, confident and loved in a way I felt it in my heart. I can't wait to read this book again and again. The scene with the cell phone video was is genius!!

What I will say is that this book is angsty, smoking hot, sweet, and funny ALL AT THE SAME TIME. I devoured it in one sitting. It's not a heavy thinking book, but that's the whole point of romance novels, yes? If you're looking for a quick, HOT (you might need ice cubes nearby; I'm not exaggerating) read, look no further.

Please RateCrashed Out (Made in Jersey)
Crashed Out is the first book in Tessa Bailey's new series, Made in Jersey. If the first book is any indication of how the rest of the series will hold up, romance readers are in for a treasure trove of mouth-watering "Yum!" This story did many crazy things to me. It had my blood heating, was goose bump inducing, and quite the turn on.
Sarge Parcell. Sigh... Swoon... This man is all kinds of sexy. Since a tween, Sarge has had eyes for Jasmine Taveras (his older sister, River's, best friend.) Unfortunately for him, Jasmine viewed him for many years with sweet, adorable, brotherly love. So Sarge takes off at the young age of eighteen, makes it as the lead singer in his band, "Old News," and uses his unrequited feelings of love for Jasmine, as a source of inspiration for his song writing.
When the band decides to take a break for the holidays, and contemplate the next step in their career, Sarge decides to return to Hook, New Jersey. He hasn't seen his sister River in four years, nor has he met his three year old niece, Marcy. When Sarge see's Jasmine, he is frustrated to realize that his feelings for her have not lessened. He plans to make her see him for the man he is, and not the young boy that he once was.
When Jasmine first lays eyes on Sarge, she doesn't immediately recognize him. He is much taller, bigger, more muscular, and has matured in to a gorgeous man. However, how can Jasmine be with a man seven years younger than her? Especially, because she is a factory worker stuck in Hook, while he a star that will be moving on soon enough....
Crashed Out was such a page turner! I read this book in record time; literally in one sitting, with minor breaks. Sarge brought the "feels." He won me over right away. As I saw how devoted he was to Jasmine, and his determination in making her his, I couldn't help but melt for him. Plus, he really loved his sister and was so sweet with his niece.
Jasmine's way of thinking is what brought all of the obstacles between her and Sarge. She had feelings of insecurity when it came to her job, the fact that she was seven years older than Sarge, and that she didn't want to upset her best friend. While I understood her reservations, I wanted her to realize her worth, and not sell herself short.
The passion between Sarge and Jasmine was palpable, and I can't remember when I've read a steamier or sexier romance than Crashed Out! It really was one heck of a hot rollercoaster ride!!!
My Rating:
I give, Crashed Out, by Tessa Bailey, 5 Blood Pounding, Mouth Watering, Swoon Inducing, Full of Heart-Melting Filled Stars! You don't want to miss out on Ms. Bailey's newest release!!! It is the epitome of everything that makes me love her books, and you will love it too.
