Willa is all grown up now. Somehow she seemed older than 19 but that's ok with me. Shane was great for her. I think she found her own Derek in Shane. Heck if it worked for Ginger why not Willa. And hello finding love in Dublin , what more can you ask for. This is a definite reread for me.

I love reading about headstrong women. I love their sassy mouths, sarcasm, take no prisoners attitudes, and cheeky sense of humor...and I loved Willa. Add in a hot, Irish, race car driver with the same attitude, not to mention panty melting sex, and you get one hell of a read!!

This romance story was different from most that I've read. That being said, it is also one of the better ones I've read. Willa and Shane both have issues but learn to be friends, before finding passion. Definitely worth the read.

What a truly heart grabbing love story. Two strong personalities trying so hard not to connect it made me laugh, cry, sigh, and feel the love that happens. Shayne and Willa were so meant for each other. Nice job Tessa always enjoy your writing!

Tessa Bailey draws you in and keeps you there. She packs in to 197 pages (according to the Kindle) a sexy sweet romance that makes her one of my favorite authors. Please keep writing Tessa because I need the sweet escape sometimes.

I just loved this book, loved all the banter between the. Also there were some great secondary characters in the story as well. It did put me in mind of a romantic comedy which I love. Loved the epilogue from Shane's POV.

Okay, kind of a bad girl romance. Very engaging HEA story about rough-around -the-edges Willa and her shag-worthy Irish speed racer, Shane. I wish more Irish brogue was included in the dialogue but beyond that a nice quick read.

Excellent! I had reservations about such a young character and how that would effect the romance but the author didn't shy away from it at all thank goodness! Willow's character is written so maturely yet with that youthfulness and vulnerable quality that I loved about her. Good read!

This book was really great, I completely enjoyed it! Loved the main character and her sense of humor. Willa was first introduced in another book so if you read it, you already know most of her back story. Highly recommend this book if you like a little lust, love and laughs.

I despise New Adult. Seriously. Why does it need to be a thing? It's angsty, whiny, mentally-stunted teenagers who have sex. Call it YA with sex cause that's all it is. Unfixable is no exception.

Why did I read this if I hate NA so much, you ask? Well, I'll tell you. I like Tessa Bailey's other books. I loved "Protecting What's His" and I loved Willa's character in that book. So when I heard she had her own book (by the way, hats off to Entangled for packaging this series across two lines - Brazen and Embrace, too bad it's the last Embrace I will ever spend my hard earned pennies on!) I wanted to read it.

Unfortunately, Willa lost her spark between Protecting What's His and Unfixable. She was snarky and funny in PWH. In Unfixable she is a selfish, annoying, whining mental case who mopes around Ireland with a camera. I assume the author wrote off her trip to Ireland as a business expense to write this book and I hope to god the IRS audits her as punishment for inflicting this angst-ridden mess on the general public.

This book is all first person Willa. I used to hate first person POV, but I've grown to like it in some cases. It kind of works here, except that Willa is SO annoying. All of the conflict revolves around Willa. She's a bit of a raging self-involved nutjob honestly. And by her age she should really be at the point where she realizes the entire does not revolve around her whiny butt.

The worst is that the story does not ring true for me. **SPOILER** Ginger has her baby early. Willa not only decides to stay in Ireland she goes globe-trotting to follow her now boyfriend around the race car circuit instead of going home to meet her niece!? WTF???? Ginger and Willa grew up in a terrible family situation with only each other to rely on. Ginger gave up a lot to take care of her younger sister. Willa repays her by not giving a crap that her sister just had a baby.

No matter how good Shane's giving it to her, I found it impossible to believe Willa wouldn't at least go home to see her sister and niece for a few days. That sucked and it's when I got seriously annoyed that I wasted my time reading this mess.

Unfixable by Tessa Bailey is nothing short of a five star read! As soon as I started this book I just knew I was in for one emotional read and yes that's just what I got.

Willa Peet whom we met in Tessa Bailey's previous book, Protecting What's His, book one of A Line Of Duty Series. She flees to Dublin. Escaping from the break-up of her two year relationship with Evan.
Enter Shane Claymore, hot as sin and rugged to boot, with his own set of problems who with his strong persona, leaves no room for argument. Anyone of us who has read about Willa Peet's character knows she's wont cave to anyone - especially someone who tries to come across as intimidating or controlling or challenging.

The Airport scene was absolutely hilarious between Shane and Willa and sparks fly in more ways than one right from the start.
Both Shane and Willa have volatile, strong personalities in their own right and neither backs away from a challenge of any sort.

With a broken heart already, Willa isn't looking for a relationship of any kind, but soon befriends most of the characters in this book, which throws her for a loop.
Shane "gets" Willa. Understands her and challenges her, while at the same time, respecting her and respecting her boundaries.

So many likeable characters in this story - Shane and Willa of course as well as Kitty - Shane's wonderful quirky Mother, Faith - Shane's happy go-lucky sister as well as Orla, and initially questionable characters Patrick and Brian who on first impression are not what they seem, all put together in this book make for one heart-stopping, fun-loving, emotional ever loving read!

The Author nails the descriptives of the characters, the scenes and their interactions within the story to perfection. No writing in this book could be faulted.
I cannot recommend this book enough!
5 Star read!

I was recently introduced to the greatness known as Tessa Bailey, and after reading Protecting What's His, I completely fell in love with Derek, Ginger, and Willa. It is my favorite Brazen novel to date and I couldn't get enough of them. When I heard Willa was getting her own book, I admit- I was a bit disappointed at first. I knew it was too idealistic of me to think Willa would live happily ever after with her first love and high school boyfriend. I loved the little interaction we had between Evan and Willa in Protecting What's His, so I was afraid to see Tessa rock the boat, so to speak. This is one of those times I can honestly say- I've never been so glad things didn't work out the way I thought they should. Shane Claymore is the ultimate game changer. He has such a powerful, intriguing presence that you can't help but be magnetically drawn to him!

Pacing: Excellently paced. I was engaged from start to finish and I love the slow burn of Willa and Shane's relationship.

Storyline: I love reading about characters staying abroad. Having spent time in Europe myself, I know what it's like to be in awe of my new surroundings and how different the cultures are from my own. Willa knows her time in Ireland is temporary and she isn't there to make friends. She certainly isn't there looking for love, either. After the heartbreak of her last relationship, Willa is determined to find herself again. She spent 2 years of her life with Evan and never felt like she could truly be herself with him. He kept wanting to make her better and eventually Willa knew she couldn't let him keep trying to fix her. She is who she is- beautifully broken, and she knows she can't let him continue the path of reconstruction for her. This book is really centered around Willa's awakening, both sexually and spiritually. I loved the emotion and the depth Bailey brings to this story and I absolutely loved reading Shane and Willa's story.

Characters: Willa and Shane have both grown up knowing hardships. They know what it's like to not have the support and love from their respective parents and that has really played a key role in shaping who they are and what they struggle with to this day. Ginger, Willa's sister, has been the one to take care of her from a very young age, when their mother was too strung out to do it herself. Naturally they have formed a very close bond and the few scenes where we got to see her interact with Ginger and Derek were really special.

Willa is a spitfire. She isn't afraid to say what's on her mind or march to the beat of her own drum. That is definitely one of the first things Shane notices about her after she gives him the slip at the airport. When it comes to feeling and emotion, however, Willa is a master avoider. She knows that her time in Ireland is temporary and the last thing she needs is to form attachments to people she'll have to leave.

Shane Claymore is a force to be reckoned with. He exudes confidence and strength and I like that he was more of a silent type. It just made his character that more powerful and when he does show vulnerability, you know it's serious. I wasn't sure if I would like that abruptness Shane had, but I actually loved it. He has not had a picture perfect past like Evan did, so Shane understands Willa on a level he wasn't able to. He doesn't want to try and change her- instead he wants her to embrace the passionate side of herself and let herself break free of the restraints she's placed on herself. He doesn't want her to hide from herself, but instead show the world who she really is- flaws and all. While not a full blown alpha like most of Tessa's other heroes, he definitely has alpha tendencies and I was in a constant state of swoon when it came to Shane. He doesn't wear his emotions on his sleeve and could be a bit difficult to read at times. However, when it came to showing how he felt, his actions spoke volumes.

I also really liked Faith, Shane's sister. She is cheerful and sweet and a bit socially repressed. Her life is the bar and her family and she is upset that Shane would want to sell something that means so much to her. You can tell he's got the overprotective big brother role down pat, but Faith just wants to be able to LIVE and do it with a free spirit. She gravitates to Willa almost instantly and even though Shane warns Willa away, she can't help but not want to disappoint the sweet girl.

Final Thoughts: I cannot impress upon you all enough just how much I loved this book. It has everything I could want in a New Adult book- the right amount of steam and sexual tension, great character development and discovery, and a hero who will make you swoon and fill your heart to the point of bursting. Tessa Bailey really takes her writing to another level here and the depth and emotion that she has created will leave you desperate for more.

Unfixable is the first New Adult Romance from Tessa Bailey, and though I am embarrassingly obsessed with her Line of Duty series from Entangled Brazen, I am (lovingly) shoving those books and their uniform-wearing heroes aside to make room for a new favorite book with a certain accented race-car driver protagonist. Generally, I prefer narratives with alternating points-of-view because I'd rather know upfront what everyone is thinking and feeling, but not knowing what was going on in Shane’s head enhanced the mystery and allure surrounding his character. I'm accustomed to Bailey's use of dual perspective narratives, which means getting to delve inside the minds of both the hero and the heroine, but I enjoyed reading Unfixable through Willa's perspective because this story is first and foremost about her journey to find herself.

For those familiar with Tessa Bailey’s books, Willa Peeta was previously introduced as Ginger’s younger sister in Protecting What’s His. Although it seemed as though her life was taking a turn for the better, Unfixable reveals the extent of Willa’s emotional issues, which cause her to construct an invisible barrier around herself. Willa is blunt, sarcastic, and standoffish – qualities she shares with Shane Claymore a.k.a. the owner of the inn where she’s staying while in Ireland. For Willa and Shane, it was an unwelcome case of lust at first sight, but Willa is determined not to act on her attraction to the (inexplicably) broody Irishman. I’m always a fan of enemies-to-lovers romance stories, especially when the author perfectly captures the simmering tension between the two lead characters. Tessa Bailey had me laughing at their heated arguments one minute and impatiently waiting for them to give in to their obvious desire for each other the next.

Unfixable may not have quite the same level of heat as Bailey’s previous books but she pushes the boundaries of the New Adult genre with unbelievably steamy encounters between Willa and Shane. Tessa Bailey is capable of setting your pulse racing and making your cheeks flush simply with almost kisses and fleeting touches, so imagine the intensity of a first kiss… a first everything. Willa and Shane are two characters with chemistry so potent that their every exchange is potentially combustible, and the anticipation leading to their first intimate moment is further heightened by the slow buildup. When the moment finally comes, it’s well worth the wait.

Tessa Bailey continues to prove that she is particularly adept at creating deep romantic connections between two protagonists, but Unfixable is about more than the physical aspects of Willa and Shane’s relationship. These characters are flawed and broken, and their imperfections helped to enrich the narrative. I wasn’t expecting to be so emotionally affected by this book but it was impossible not to sympathize with both Willa and Shane’s internal struggles, and hope that together, they could overcome these struggles. Unfixable may be Tessa Bailey's first venture into New Adult but I sincerely wish she would continue to explore the genre (in addition to her Line of Duty series, of course), especially if she has more stories like this up her sleeve with characters as memorable and likable as Willa and Shane.

This book was suggested to me on Bookbub, and the blurb grabbed my attention right away. Sacrificing sleep, I read this book in 1 sitting and loved every moment! The book is filled with angst, and since I'm a reader who loves "the chase," this book was right up my alley with how much these characters fight their attraction for one another.

I love this cast of characters...all of them, especially Willa. She lives up to her name being strong-willed and independent. I wasn't expecting such a funny and sassy character based on the blurb and cover, but she was a joy to get to know in this book.

Fans of Samantha Young's On Dublin Street will devour this book. This is the first book I've ever read by this author, but I just read Protecting What's His to get the story on Willa's sister, Ginger and her husband Derek. Both books are stand-alones, but Protecting What's His was only 99 cents, and I recommend reading it first. It ended up being 2 sleepless nights in a row because Ginger's book was just as good!

Unfixable was perfectly paced and the dialogue was witty and smart. The entire cast of characters was endearing and I just couldn't put this book down. I'll definitely be reading more from this author!

OMG Tessa Bailey has taken her awesomeness to a new level with this book. I was lucky enough to read an early copy and it totally blew me away. I inhaled it and when I finished it, I wanted to start it all over again.

The author has painted a Dublin setting that is beautifully realistic and makes you want to travel there to see the sights. Ok and maybe find yourself a hot Irishman like Willa did.

Yes it maybe a N/A book, but it has the trademark Tessa Bailey style. Lots of emotions, humour and hot sex and an alpha man who will melt your panties.

If you have read Protecting What's His, you will recognise Willa, Ginger's little sister. Well in this book she is grown up and recovering from a heartbreak.

When she goes to Ireland as part of a reward for a contest she won, she meets Shane, the innkeeper where she is staying. The sparks fly immediately and if you are like me, you will fall for Shane pretty quickly. He is an amazing character, a son, brother and businessman and total hunk.

But the two souls who think they are broken come together and what they find is something truly special. But can Willa who thinks she's unfixable and breaks the ones she loves and Shane who is haunted by past with his father, find true happiness ?

This is one of those books that will drag you through the emotional wringer and you will love every minute of it. I absolutely love this book and hope that there is another on it's way for Shane's sister Faith.

Tessa Bailey can do no wrong in my eyes and she has kicked things up a notch with this book.

Unfixable was the first Tessa Bailey novel that I’ve read, and boy was it a great read! It follows main character Willa as she ventures to Ireland to do some self-discovery after a breakup. There, she stays at the Claymore Inn, which is in the process of being sold by Shane Claymore, a racer determined to get back into the circuit after settling family affairs. Unfixable was a well-written novel. I enjoyed the way that Bailey wrote the characters. They were very unique, and Willa was especially relatable as a character. And of course, who doesn’t love a guy with an accent?! And factor in the fact that he’s a bad boy racer? That means an extremely swoony guy, along with some heart pounding chemistry. Moreover, I enjoyed the complications brought on by the characters’ pasts. It added to the uniqueness of the novel, and made it hard to put down! Unfixable was a fantastic New Adult novel by Tessa Bailey: a steamy romance, characters trying to figure out exactly who they are and who they want to be, and of course, sexy accents! I’ve heard that Bailey’s other novels a slightly more racy, which I usually don’t venture much into, but if she doesn’t write anymore NA novels anytime soon, I may be tempted to give them a try!

We met Willa and her big sister Ginger in Protecting What's His. The girls had a hard life growing up and all they had were each other. Then Ginger fell for a cop, Derek, and their lives improved. Willa tried to change her personality and do what was expected of her in order to fit in. She had her first serious relationship with Evan which was sweet and meaningful, but she could not let go of her past and the pressure to be everything he thought she could be. She is now lost, broken, and damaged. So she puts on her battle armor and heads off to Dublin, Ireland since she won a photo journalism contest.

(Quote) I lost myself. I forgot how to be comfortable in my own skin. I forgot what it means to be comfortably broken. I thought I was unfixable before. Now, I'm plane-crash wreckage.

Shane Claymore, the owner of the inn she is staying at while in Dublin, is easily agitated, bossy, rude and antagonistic. And he brings out the old sarcastic, angry Willa. They are volatile, fiery, hostile, and exhibit an underlying sexual tension that is almost painful. They challenge, push boundaries, and taunt each other.

The fact that there is a built in time period makes it seem safe from getting too attached. Even though their minds fight against it, their bodies and hearts cannot be denied. The both have issues. Their pasts were not pleasant. They are both figuring out where they are going with their lives. Their budding attraction adds a big complication to their lives, but one they cannot ignore. They just have to hope they come out of unharmed and can walk away unscathed.

"It's inevitable, Willa. We are inevitable. When you stop fooling yourself, come and find me."

She thinks she is unfixable. He thinks there is nothing to fix. But their lives are on a collision course and they do not have time to handle the fall out. Can two people whose lives are completely different come together for real or are they destined to just be a holiday fling?

Shane is an enigma at times. Sure he is broody, bossy, and controlling, but he is also charismatic, sexy, and sweet. He looks out for his family, but is plagued by guilt, secrets, and past pain. And his plans for his future just add to his feelings of guilt. He was not looking for love or attachments. He lives for the adrenaline rush. But he cannot seem to stop pushing Willa past her comfort zone. But will he be willing to change his future plans for a girl he just met?

"Damnit, Willa. I didn't see you coming."

Willa has shown a lot of change from when we first met her. She is trying to get back to a place where she is comfortable in her own skin. She is feisty, sassy, guarded, but could be fun too. And she has a good heart. She just does not show it to many or let her vulnerability show. And Willa had lost sight of her adventurous, fiery personality for years, but is finally beginning to live again on her own terms. But will her fears insecurities, and self doubt ruin her chance at happiness?

"How do you manage to see the best in everyone, Willa, but only the worst in yourself?"

They had intense chemistry and passion that built gradually despite their resistance, and finally could not be denied. And when they do finally let go, it is all consuming. But as their time grows short will they take down their guard and let themselves feel or just go back to their lives as they were before?

This was a bit different than Tessa's Line of Duty series. It is more of a new adult book. Even though Shane is definitely a strong alpha, he is not quite as dirty talking, domineering, and intense as some of her other heroes. But he is Irish, funny, sarcastic, and did have a bit of a naughty mouth and challenged Willa. He has a presence that just pulls you in. You cannot help but like him especially when you see under his layers. We see him go from angry and overbearing to vulnerable and unsure.

The side characters are quirky and fun. His mom, Kitty and sister, Faith are such unique, sweet personalities. The brothers she met in Dublin, Brian and Patrick were off the wall and adorable. And we get to see more with Ginger and Derek and how they have progressed. Their relationship with Willa is so special, and their rapport is funny and honest. But they went through so much together that they are tightly bonded. Their sisterly moments are so endearing.

"Love comes in many forms. It's not always sweet. Or comfortable. Sometimes it's selfish and consuming. Volatile...It makes choices for you. It demands you obey it, not taking no for an answer. And it's usually right. It knows you better than you know yourself....Above all, love is stubborn as hell."

This was a humorous, sassy, sexy, sweet read with characters that drive you crazy one minute and have you happy the next. It was interesting, engaging, and flowed well. It was told in Willa's point of view, but we did get a little peek into Shane's head as well. And the Irish setting just added to the story and interest and was almost a character in itself. Tessa Bailey just has a way of drawing you into her stories and making you truly care about her characters. They make you frustrated, laugh, smile, swoon, and fan yourself. This one was no exception.

I went into this book, thinking I’d get another Tessa Bailey dirty talker, super hot sex, and a little angst.
What did I get instead? A wonderful, thought provoking look into Willa Peet’s life, how her past colored her outlook on life, how she felt breaking up with her boyfriend of two years, and how she finally felt free to behave as she saw fit now that she was out from under the scrutiny of her peers. A love story between Willa and Shane that started out rocky, with both of them having deep seated issues that somehow worked themselves out only when they voiced them in each other’s presence. I loved how the sexual tension was built up over most of the story and when Willa and Shane finally had sex, it was nothing but beautiful in both time and place. Shane also won me over with his thoughtfulness, when he wasn’t being a jerk, and though he’s not a dirty talker compared to a few other Tessa heroes, his Irish brogue definitely made up for it. I swooned every time he called Willa, “love.” The side characters also brought a touch of humor into the story: Shane’s bubbly sister, his eccentric mother, and the two pickpocketing musicians that Willa meets round out the great cast. We also get to see Ginger and Derek in a few scenes.
And the ending . . . I don’t care if some people may call it cliché, I loved it. I may have even had to check to make sure I had nothing in my eyes, because I’m sure a book wasn’t causing me to tear up. That’s just silly, right? You’ll just have to read another amazing Tessa Bailey book to see what all the fuss is about.

Tessa Bailey has done it again! From beginning to end I was transfixed and couldn't stop reading. I loved Willa and Shane and the sparks between them jump off the page. The chemistry between the two is evident in their first meeting and I couldn't wait to see these two finally admit their feelings for one another.

I can't say enough how much I liked Shane and Willa and their pairing. I liked that they both liked one another despite their issues and attitude. Neither wanted to change the other, they were happy with who they were issues and all.

Let me just say that Shane is sexy...yes I know it's a given with a Tessa Bailey story but damn. Maybe it's the accent but I really liked Shane. He's fierce, protective and not afraid to speak his mind.

As for Willa, I've always been a fan of hers and I'm glad that we were able to see her mature and get her HEA. She is truly deserving of it. There is a lot of growth with her and I'm glad we were able to see it.

This book might not be has explicit as Tessa's Line of Duty series but it's no less hot. This book was still pretty hot and sexy. Believe me, there was one scene between Shane, Willa and a car that was pretty freaking hot.

I highly recommend this book and I can't wait to read more from Tessa Bailey. Tessa has quickly moved her way up on my favorite author list and is a definite auto buy. If you aren't reading Tessa's books you are SERIOUSLY missing out.

I loved Tessa Bailey's other books with the Brazen line. I found Ginger and Willa from Protecting What's His to be tough, fun and smart heroines. When I heard Willa was getting her own story I was pretty excited. Then I realized it was through the Embrace line (very clever Entangled, very clever!) I don't generally read New Adult because I find it too whiny and angsty. The angsty ramblings go unchecked in Unfixable for at least the first 11% of the book. I almost stopped reading because Willa was SO annoying, but I really liked Shane and wanted to know what his deal was so I kept at it.
Once you got past Willa's annoying angst over her breakup with Evan and her need to "find herself" (OMG this book read like a "how to" of New Adult) the story moved along nicely. The descriptions of Ireland were beautiful and felt authentic.

*Possible Spoiler*
I really felt like Willa not going home to see the baby was so out of character for her. After the life the two sisters shared growing up and the strong bond they had, I found it hard to believe not only didn't she go home when the baby was born (okay I could get past that -- once in a lifetime trip to Ireland) but she stays away and doesn't meet her niece for 3 more months so she can follow Shane around. Really? That felt more like losing herself than finding herself to me.

4.5 Stars

[“It’s inevitable, Willa. We are inevitable. When you stop fooling yourself, come and find me.”]

I wish I could say I couldn’t put this book down, but instead, and much to my dismay, I was so busy this time that I could barely find the time to pick it up! It was like a specially-designed torture for book junkies. Not that giving this book 4.5 stars is any sort of insult, because it was really good, but I wonder if I’d been able to read it in no more than a couple of days if it would have been a 5 star for me. You know what I mean? When you go a while (ahem… days) between reads you have time to come out of the book haze. When you read a book mostly straight through, you stay immersed in the character’s world. You feel everything more. Is this even making sense?

In any event, I loved this book! I don’t know if this is a new trend or if I’ve just happened to read a lot of them lately, but I’m loving books that are set in exotic locations. Lately I’ve read about characters who travel to France, Amsterdam, Ghana, and now Ireland! It’s so much fun to get to experience the beauty of a foreign place through the main character’s eyes.

Willa is a photographer who has recently broken up with her first love, but lucky for her and thanks to her talent, she’s just won a competition that sends her to Ireland for a month. It’s just what she needs to clear her mind and refocus. But her trip is interesting from the time she lands in Ireland when she meets the surly man waiting to pick her up from the airport.

Shane Claymore races cars. Not like for fun. For real. It’s what he loves, it’s what he’s meant to do. What he’s not meant to be doing is running his family’s Inn/Bar and retrieving spoiled, privileged Americans from the airport. Willa and Shane get off to a rough start. They’re both prickly, surly, closed off and stubborn. They’re both immediately attracted to each other but neither of them is particularly happy about that. Watching the sexual tension grow between them is exhilarating and exciting.

[“Why?” he growls into my wet hair, bracing one hand on the brick wall, keeping his other thick forearm wrapped around my middle. “Why can’t you stay put? Every time it gets uncomfortable, I have to chase you down…. Here’s what I want to say, girl. Having to chase you only make me want to pin you down.”]

The two of them fight their attraction for a long time. Willa’s stay is temporary and rushing into something else that she will just have to walk away from is not ideal. But some things are easier said than done.

[“What are you waiting for? Permission?”
“Yes,” he groans, clutching my hips.
“You have it.”]

Just as Willa’s trip is winding to an end, Shane is offered the opportunity to live his dream again. Starting tomorrow.

[“That’s right, girl. Fight me. Show me you give a damn.”
“Why don’t you tell me what the hell you want from me?” I shout up at him.
“What I want?” He’s shouting back. “I want one word from you, one word that tells me I’m not crazy. That I’m not imagining what it feels like when we’re standing in the same room together. God, the thought of getting on a plane without you, babe… I can’t breathe for thinking about it.”]

Unfixable was a fantastic, enjoyable, smoldering book. I loved every bit of it. Trust me, you’re going to want to meet Shane Claymore!

4.25 (Pour me another pint) stars

Unfixable was an adorable read with an Irish theme. I smiled and from start to finish.

Willa is unfixable. She’s had a rough childhood, with a drugged up mom and a non-existent father. Willa has been in a “sweet” relationship for over two years. Finally, she realizes she can’t change for the better so she breaks up with her ex and wins a trip to Dublin. Willa gets to stay in Ireland as a photographer for one month.

Shane is the owner of the Inn/Pub Willa is staying at. He doesn’t want anything to do with the “tough” American girl, but he’s fixated by her.

Review

First off, I love the storyline. I like anything that is set in a different country. I am always leery of the accents and slang when I read, I’m not expert, but none of it annoyed me. It felt real. When Willa first meets Shane, there’s obvious tension. Shane is rude, stressed and pissed off. Willa has a chip on her shoulder and doesn’t take crap from anyone.

At times I did not like Willa’s “tough” girl attitude. I’m never fond of leading ladies being a you- know-what because of past issues. However, she never did anything overly mean that made me hate her and afterwards, you see some improvements.

Willa is there to take pictures, but everyday there’s an interaction with her and Shane’s family. Shane’s family owns the pub, which includes his cute little teenage sister and scatter brain mom. Willa doesn’t have many people in her life, except for her sister, so when Shane’s family kind of involves themselves in Willa’s lives, it’s fun to read.

Of course there are issues. Shane has daddy issues and although daddy issues aren’t original, again, I wasn’t annoyed with the storyline. It wasn’t the main focus of the read, but it was there. What I really enjoyed was the Shane and Willa dynamics.
There’s plenty sexual tension and you will be rooting for them to get together. There’s character development and I guess you can say both Shane and Willa kind of slowly peel their layers. It’s a really sweet and adorable relationship.

What can I say? Tessa Bailey is a new author for me and I’m happy I picked up Unfixable. It was a delight from start to finish and exactly what I wanted.

This book was awesome. Seriously - it had everything I look for in a romance. If you haven't read Tessa Bailey before, I would definitely suggest picking up Unfixable!

The heroine is Willa, and she's just won a photography contest where the prize is a month in Ireland. This works out perfectly for her because she feels the need to escape. She's just had a bad breakup and she's to blame. Willa wants to re-find herself. Willa was awesome. She's kind of from the wrong side of the tracks, and she's had a hard past. She finds everything she needs in the pictures she takes. She's a bit tough, and a bit of a softy, and she just seems like a pretty cool chick. You really get to see her change through the book, and I love that.

Our hero is Shane (one of my very favorite names, by the way) On the surface he's what you'd expect when you meet an Irish hottie. He's got a bit of a temper, a maddeningly sexy accent, and he his whole persona kind of screams danger (Uhhh yeah, for Willa's heart!!!!) But there is more to Shane than meets the eye. Just when you think you have him pegged, another part to him is revealed. Holy sex on a gear shift, the man is a racecar driver. Shane's family owns the pub slash inn where Willa is staying. He is angry and sexy - a lethal combination for a girl with a troubled past.

Another character who plays a major role in this book is Faith, Shane's sister. She's the one who has been left at home while Shane becomes this awesome racecar driver. She's held down the fort. And now she's starting to stand up for herself, and she's going to have some fun. Willa and Faith become friends, and when Faith is around I can't help but smile - just like Willa.

Ok, the sexual tension - that's what you want to know about. This book has tons!! I mean seriously, Tessa Bailey did such a fantastic job teasing me and bringing me to the edge, I can't even wait to read this book again. Willa and Shane are swoon-worthy adversaries slash romantic potentials for each other. It's love-hate and then it's love-love, and then it's love-oh-no-Tessa-Bailey-don't-do-that-please-don't-rip-them-apart!!!! And just like that, she rips the rug out from under you and you are left scared to turn the page. I mean, I know a HEA is supposed to happen, but seriously - I wasn't sure it was going to. I love love LOVE when an author rips a couple apart and just destroys them so completely when they aren't with the other! I mean, it breaks my heart, but the make up slash reunion is nothing short of the biggest fireworks you've ever seen.

So would I recommend Unfixable? Without a doubt - hell yes!! Put it in drive and put the pedal to the medal, because this book burns rubber!

Ok, yeah. That line was a little cheesy. Hey, you write a review when you're on a caffeine buzz and excited about a story ;)

UNFIXABLE is an adult, contemporary, romance storyline that focuses on two people struggling with the indecision about life and everything it has to offer. This is nineteen year old American photographer Willa Peet and Irish race car driver Shane Claymore’s story. Willa has arrived in Ireland as a guest of the Claymore Inn. After winning a photography contest where first prize is a month long stay in Ireland photographing the land and its’ people, Willa struggles with her attraction to the bad boy bar owner Shane Claymore and her need to continuously move and forget about the past.

The focus of the storyline is the developing relationship between Willa and Shane and, the people and family at Claymore Inn. The Claymore family own and operate a popular pub and inn where Willa discovers the family secrets, their protective family bonds and a dark history where not everything and everyone are as they seem. Shane and Willa are both running from their pasts –pasts mired in secrets and disappointments; broken hearts and family betrayal.

Tessa Bailey pulls the reader into a storyline where one woman captures the beauty of the people and the land with her camera but refuses to acknowledge the beauty within her heart and soul. She is a woman who knows disappointment, betrayal and sorrow up close and personal. Willa believes herself to be broken and ‘unfixable’. Shane is a man whose need to prove himself worthy and finds his ‘need for speed’ a welcome compromise. It is only when they let their hearts and minds open to the possibility of love that Shane and Willa will find that the present and future are the only thing that count in a world where everyone judges you by the sins of the past.

UNFIXABLE is well paced, colorful and sometimes heartbreaking storyline told from Willa’s first person POV. We are witness to their struggles, their fears and the pain of family rejection. Unfixable is a story of growing up and moving forward; of taking life and everything it has to offer and making something of yourself; and it is a story about two people who have found one another with the help of a young woman’s desire to lose herself in the beauty of the images she photographs-one picture at a time. The sex scenes are steamy, sensual and leave nothing to the imagination. Shane is a man who knows what he wants and he wants Willa-naked and ready.

The secondary characters add a flavor and spice that resonate with love and understanding; humor and mental challenges. The world building brings the reader into a family run business where ‘everyone knows your name’ and strangers are sometimes closer than family. Tessa Baily frames the Irish countryside with definitive and vibrant content so that the reader can smell the salty, ocean breeze and the damp, new mown grass; the acrid odor of stale cigarette smoke and the sweat soaked bodies on the dance floor at the local club.

If you are a fan of broken heroines and bad boy Irish heroes then UNFIXABLE is your next go to book –you won’t be disappointed.
