Before I comment on this book, I would first like to share what led me to this book, and all the others that I have ordered.
I first read "Jack", which is the name C.S. Lewis chose to go by because he did not like his given name. Jack is a biography of C.S. Lewis, written by his step-son, Douglas Gresham. Mr. Gresham lived with Jack from the age of 9 until Jack's death 10 years later. They were very close and Jack shared a great deal with him.
After reading this book I had to find some of his writings and get to know this man better. I would reccommend that every Christian, and non-Christian alike, to read this man's writings. I am presently reading "The Problem with pain", along with "bits & pieces" of all the others I ordered. I feel so blessed to have been able to purchase two hardbacks, which are collections of his Classics. I discovered in the back of one of them a year of devotions. That was a nice surprise!
I thought my faith was strong before, but since I've started reading C.S. Lewis' books, my faith have taken on a whole new meaning..
I am sorry if I made this longer than you wanted and I fail to read the guidelines.

I've really enjoyed reading this book. The Great Divorce is what turned me onto reading C.S. Lewis and also hearing him quoted by some great preachers. He knows his stuff and presents it in a way that even a reader with just a basic education can read and understand. Anyone looking to dive a little further into their walk with Christ will find this beneficial!

CS Lewis- an essential author in any good library. But be aware, this copy of his works is a bargain for a reason! The book binding isn't great, and the pages are not all cut the same so some stick out farther than others. The paper feels rustic. A good find for a poor college student, a bad purchase for your fancy home library.

A great value compared to buying the individual books, even as Kindle downloads. I'm glad I have this -- it will last a lifetime. Make note of the dimensions, though -- It's a large book that doesn't fit on my shelf of other great religious works.

Classic writing from C.S. Lewis. Highly recommended to both Christians and non-Christians alike, to get a solid perspective from a person who was an atheist, and ultimately became one of Christianity's most passionate defenders.

What a great work! Everyone should read Mere Christianity. The Narnia series stuff is what is so highly commercialized, but they are just imaginary stories for children and adults who like to find a deeper meaning. His thoughtful works is what he should be known for.

This is a beautiful piece. The quality of the publication is second to none. Quality paper, great binding, ribbon marker for keeping your place, room for notes, well sized font.
The content, being some of the finest works by Lewis, is beyond reproach.

The first three books: Mere Christianity; The Screwtape Letters; and The Great Divorce were outstanding; the rest of the books were very hard to understand. It is a great price for such a wonderful well made book.

I thought I was purchasing SEPARATE hardbound books that were held together in a boxed set. Not so! This is one big compiled book...the size of a large encyclopedia volume. It is a bit hard to tell from the description above. The individual books are not labeled at the top of the pages...only the name of that particular chapter. So, as you leaf through it, you have no idea WHICH book you are glancing at (except the Screwtape letters which starts each letter with "Dear Wormwood." I like to read in bed, and this monster book won't work. So, I gave it away to my church library, and will order individual books this time.

I was actually looking for a copy of The Screwtape Letters and found this nice softcover edition of a whole collection of C. S. Lewis writings for only a few dollars more. It is soft conversation but the niceer paper and uneven edges make the book itself a bit classier.

It is very entertaining and informative. His approach is different from what I have read before. There are a variety of writing styles. Some are light and entertaining and some trudge through logic to prove his point.

My adult children asked for this book for Christmas and are very happy with it. It has a beautiful design and is a keepsake item as well as good reading. The only thing some may not like in this compilation of C.S. Lewis's works is the cumbersome size of it. One has to decide if the convenience of having all the text in one attractive binding outweighs having multiple copies of books containing the same material, and that is completely an issue of preference.
The book was delivered in a timely manner and was packaged well for safe delivery of the contents.

Awesome book, awesome quality. C.S. Lewis wrote it, so....the store cannot take credit for that but they can take all the credit for great prices, speedy delivery and probably a good return policy (not that I've had to return anything but I bet if I did-they would take it back. Just saying!)

Although C.S. Lewis was never trained as theologian, the books included in this volume of his works provide incredible insight into Christianity, including what it means to be a Christian itself. C.S. Lewis (known to his friends as Jack) was actually an atheist who, through logical argument and reason, eventually became a born again Christian. Although it is not touted as such, the book (within this volume of books) "Mere Christianity" maps out that journey Lewis took to becoming the Christian he eventually came to be.

Content perfect. would have preferred the signature classics to be individually bound. The book is too heavy and cumbersome to carry. The individual titles separately bound would have been easier to slip into a bag and read where ever you had spare time to read. Also different members of the family could read be reading these classics at the same time.

I purchased this product as a Christmas gift. It came in on time and on the first estimated date of delivery. The packaging was great, only wish the book itself would have been wrapped in plastic. The book was exactly what I had expected: the right size, same cover as the online picture depicted and I like the sightly uneven edges of the pages. I bought it new and it came in perfect condition. I am VERY pleased with my purchase.

Every single book in this collection is brilliant. Mere Christianity is one of the best and simplest philosophical presentations of Christianity. Likewise, The Screwtape Letters is one of the most interesting changes of perspective in literature.

I loved this classic hardback edition. I wanted to reread "The Great Divorce" and compare it to recent findings regarding the plasma universe. Uncannily, Lewis wrote the literary equivalent of what is now being discovered in quantum physics.

This anthology by CS Lewis is wonderful, as it contains most of his major books. If you want to understand what it means to be a Christian, to invite and accept Christ and the Spirit of God living within you, read Mere Christianity. If you want to be able to respond to those who claim there cannot be a God because of all the pain and suffering in the world, read The Problem of Pain. If you want to avoid falling prey to the wiles of the devil, read The Screwtape Letters. If you want to understand how modern-day thought is attempting to kill off the essence of what it is has meant to be a human being, read The Abolition of Man. If you want an insightful speculation about what hell really is, read The Great Divorce. And then there are Miracles and A Grief Observed. The best of the best.

I am not going to go into tremendous detail explaining every aspect and every nuance of the text. I am sure you have a great many other things to do than sit and read my interpenetration of this book. First and foremost, for I am no book critic, and secondly, I would much rather you read the book for yourself.
I instead shall merely impart one piece of information upon you. If you enjoy, clear, beautifully written prose that leaves you wanting more, this book is a definite must read.
