Kelly encourages to be the "best versions" of ourselves, to take control of our lives. He employs a wide variety of techniques to show us how--parables, philosophical reflections, personal confession, appeals to common sense, examples of great famous lives, and "how-to" tips for prayer, meditation, and developing good habits. While I'm not sure he's breaking a lot of new ground, he's easy to understand, intelligent, challenging and persuasive. His values and his suggestions make enormous sense, especially when he advises us to spend less time on doing and more time on being. If you feel like you're drifting through life, this book could be great medicine!

First off, I think Matthew makes some very, very good points about balance in one's life. But he also has found a system that works very well for him, but won't work for all. Many of his religious tendencies and justifications for this or that don't work for me, as I'm agnostic. So I found myself having to find the good among the bad. But overall, there is lots of good stuff in the book, one just has to keep a critical eye out for what is more universal as opposed to just what works for him.

Catholicism was originally meant to be a simple but deep spiritual practice for the rest of us. It was definitely not meant to be the weapon of control and manipulation that it became after it was co-opted by Constantine. Mathew Kelly captures the essential values of genuine Catholicism in a simple but profound manner that could easily help you develop a deeper and more mature relationship with God. If you believe in small steps rather than giant leaps when it comes to spiritual development this book can certainly take you a step or two in the right direction. Enjoy!

Absolutely loved this book. Really awakened me to a new perspective. I'm not a religious person but for once I wasn't offended by the references made to god and Catholicism. What a great author. His ability to tell stories and metaphors is amazing. First book I've finished cover to cover in a while. Thanks Hal Elrod for recommending.

I really loved this book.
I initially read it from the library, but I decided to buy a copy for myself so that I can reference back to it, and also lend it to my family and friends.

I really want to give it to my sister, who is now entering college and trying to figure out what to do with her life.
As for me, I am also trying to figure out how to live a more purpose driven life with work and family, and Mr. Kelly’s book couldn’t have come a better time.

Mr. Kelly’s writing style is so easy to read that it almost feels conversational.
It is a quick, easy, entertaining and inspiring read.
I love the stories / analogies he uses to present his points.

I used to know Mr. Kelly as mostly a Catholic self-help author, but this book really is a general self-help book for people of any denomination / spiritual or non-spiritual outlook, trying to lead a more purpose-driven life or simply figuring out what to do in life.

I really loved this book because it went into more detail on some of the same general points concerning work that interested me from his Catholic books (Dynamic Catholic, Rediscover Catholicism).

Finally, his steps towards a “best-version-of-yourself” really are simple and common sense, which is why one can immediately start to apply it to their lives.

After reading Kelly's Rediscover Catholicism, I had a great desire to read his other book, The Rhythm of Life. As You can see based on my rating of 5 stars, I'm not disappointed. Kelly is a fantastic writer. He has been my spiritual coach in the last 2 books. I'm excited to get my rhythm of life !!

Matthew Kelly is definitely the best motivational author that I have read in a long time. I recommend it to all age groups, especially those in their 20's. Unfortunately most younger adults are too busy to think about reading a wonderful book like this.

Matthew Kelly was introduced to me by my old friend in Phoenix, and she used the words inspirational, uplifting, motivating. I bought two of his books on the store, and am adding them to my personal library. These are not to be read once and move on. These will be revisited again and again. I am reading out loud to my grandson and daughter parts that apply to us especially. I believer so far the key phrase to come out of this book that will stick with our family is to ask ourselves, is this action on my part building the finest version of myself? I'm asking this even as I contemplate eating a Dove bar at l0:00 p.m. before bed. At least I stop and think. I am not Catholic, but this book is for all of us.

This book is easy to read, and packed with simple wisdom. We can all benefit from an organized reminder of what is important. As Matthew Kelly always says, strive to become the best version of ourselves! And doing this with a healthy balance of focus on the physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual brings marvelous rewards, and a sense of peace. AMEN.

Simply fantastic. I wish everyone I knew would take the time to read this book and apply its messages. I plan to read it again after I read the rest of his work. So far I have been mesmerized by his other books. After reading the Alchemist by Coelho, Perfectly Yourself, the Seven Levels of Intimacy and this book have helped me build on the ideas that the world will conspire for you. Be the best version of yourself and you will find peace.
