Harry Potter Golden Snitch Sticker Kit (Miniature Editions)

These sticker/miniature kits were perfect for our Harry Potter party. My 16 year old niece had a HP themed party and we needed "cool" gifts for game winners. These kits were a perfect fit. The kids loved them.

Although it's not perfect, this is the only licensed snitch on the store, so it is the best available. A few cons to consider, there is a seam around the entire ball, which takes away from the authenticity.
When displayed correctly, the seam starts at the very top, and makes a complete circle along the snitch where the wings are inserted.

The paint job is dull, not shiny like I would expect from a real snitch. If it has a light on it, it looks better.

The wings are cheap plastic, and only look good from a certain angle.

In the end, if tilted just right, the seam is hidden fairly well, and the wings are adequate.

If your a collector beware it does have scuff and glue marks. I bought 2 to make sure. One had glue marks and the other was scuffed up. I didnt contact seller because the glue marks wasnt so bad to me. Im not a true collector. But other then that it is good size. Wings are silver plastic and centerpiece is heavy plastic. For the price its good.

My youngest daughter recently began reading the Harry Potter books, and has fallen immediately in love with them. She wants to have a Harry Potter themed birthday party, and I picked up several small items, such as this, to decorate her cake with. I can't wait to see her face when she sees all of her favorite items on the cake!

The Harry Potter Golden Snitch Sticker Kit is a fantastic little mini kit, like those commonly found at bookstores and such. The sticker book included is not especially noteworthy. It feature eight stickers, depicting the Hogwarts seal and house crests, as well as pictures of Harry Potter, Cedric Diggory, and Draco Malfoy. They stickers aren't bad, but the Snitch itself if the real reason to buy the kit.

The Golden Snitch replica is extremely detailed, but not entirely accurate. The ball is of the right size, and the golden paint wash looks very nice. However, when compared to the image of the movie version on the box, it becomes clear that the details themselves are wrong. Nearly every groove and mark appear to be present, but nearly all also appear to be differently shaped than those in the film. Despite this, the likeness is by far the best of the various Snitch replicas on the market. The wings are made using a thin silvery-looking plastic. They're not entirely accurate to the film depiction, but they serve their purpose and easily snap in and out of the holes on the main ball.

The kit also includes a nice looking wooden stand for displaying the Snitch. Another nice touch is that the Snitch itself is weighted on the bottom, so it will sit up properly without the stand, and won't tip over even with the wings attached. It looks quite nice on the stand, though, so there's no reason not to display it that way.

Overall, the Golden Snitch Sticker Kit is a good value for Harry Potter fans. The sticker book is fairly uninteresting, but the Snitch is easily the best replica available today. It's not without it's flaws, but it's still an excellent display piece for Harry Potter fans.

I am a bit surprised from people expecting so much from something so affordable. I bought this from a local bookstore and inside is a wooden stand, the main golden ball of the snitch and the detachable plastic wings. Also included is a small sticker booklet. Not knowing what it is made of, the ball is actually decently painted with gold and some details of the snitch but not actually in the same intricacy from the movies. Assemble the ball with the wings, and there goes the actual snitch in display and nothing more.
This isn't for play or for giving to kids (unless for kiddie HP fans who at least knows how to handle a licensed collectible), and I wouldn't even recommend giving it to non-fans because they would be in for a disappointment. A true Potterhead would actually love to receive this as a gift (me included). It is best seen to be admired from a desk or display.

This version of a Golden Snitch is a great display item for Harry Potter fans, being well-manufactured for its price. It is painted plastic, so while the plastic is sturdy and strong, it is not a toy (the wings are rather fragile for children). The snitch has artsy grooves carved along it.The long silver wings are removable and placed in holes carved into the side of the snitch. The wings have small 'R' and 'L' letters near the base at the back (to prevent confusion when placing the wings on the snitch, I'm guessing).The small sticker book has stickers of the Hogwarts, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin crests, as well as portraits of Harry, Cedric, and Draco. The base is solid reddish wood. I reccomend it highly for Harry Potter fans old enough to enjoy displaying it.

I find it a little dissapointing.
You will find no book here. Only 8 stickers. The four seals of the Four Houses of Hogwarts, the Hogwarts seal, and 3 portraits of Harry, Draco Malfoy and Cedric Diggory (not drawings, the actors). Then, there's the Golden Snitch. The stand where you can put it on is made of solid wood, but the actual ball is (bad) painted plastic, and the wings are also plastic.
I don't recommend this object for small children. They can hurt themselves with the wings (they are very pointy).
I like to collect gadgets from movies, and in the end, this turns out OK put on a shelf, besides the books. But there are better gadgets for Harry Potter fans out there.

I purchased this item for my brother & sister-in-law, who are HUGE Harry Potter fans and into the whole collectibles scene. They already have a decent collection of Harry Potter merchandise, and were pleasantly surprised to acquire this. It is definitely not a toy, nor would I consider it for small children, as indicated by the 9+ age advisory. For what it is (a cheap, fairly accurate movie prop), it's a great product. It is much better than similar products, of which there are many in and above it's price range. I researched the product before buying and aside from an actual Snitch, built to movie specs and licensed by Warner Bros (which does not exist at the time of this review), I would definitely pick this one.
