I have a seven-year-old daughter who adores these books. She reads them on her own, and she only needs a little help while making her way through them. I actually like tha tpart of it though because it means that th ebook is challenging her. She truly enjoys the series.

My daughter (in 2nd grade) says, "It was so good, I want to read it again."
I read parts of it with her, but she read most of it on her own. When we read together, we had a great time.
She wants to add, "It was special because it was all about becoming best friends and friendship."

They were so interesting that my 2nd grader read a book a night after school.
It is the perfect book for her grade and she takes her Accelerated Reader (AR) test
every morning in school. She enjoys them so much that I bought another set, as seen below.
Highly recommended for the elementary school kids!

I bought these for my youngest son after his teacher read the class book one of the series. He feel in love with the series and beg for both box sets. He read all of them and we donated them to the school library for others to enjoy now.

these are adorable books for girls. My 8 year old got this set as one of her gifts and she read through the whole series quite quickly. they are cute and funny. About 2 little girls that are very different but become good friends! They are pretty easy reads for a 2nd to 3 rd grade reading level.

Just started this second set of Ivy and Bean books. My granddaughter is now 8 and still loves every single Ivy and Bean book! We already finished the first 2 books in this set and she loved these stories as much as the 3 in set #1. She was thrilled with the added bonus of the paper dolls and loved that the clothes they came with matched the illustrations in the books! We have 1 book left in this set and have just discovered there are 2 more books, 1 available now and one coming out in Oct 2011. I agree with the other reviewer who said she wished this series of books had 100 books available! For now we are happy with our first 6 and can't wait to get our next 2! I am so pleased that the children portrayed in these books are well behaved and are being taught good manners!

These cute little stories are perfect for my daughter. She has to read for at least 15 minutes each night. She loves these books! The stories are fun for her and at a perfect level that she can read on her own.

The girls in my third grade class that are jumping from picture books to novels love Ivy and Bean. The world needs more inventive, strong, and kind girl role models. I also think a little naughty adds a realistic edge. Love these books in my class

My granddaughters name is Bean. We found the books by accident. Bean has been in love with her namesake since the 1st biking. She is getting 6,7 & 8 for Christmas....when she is finished, it will be, next!

These books are great for introducing young readers to books with chapters. My seven-year-old niece called me up the other day and asked me for them, so I'm thinking she must really like the characters and doesn't find the reading either too simplistic or too challenging.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading these books every night with my daughter. Ivy and Bean remind me of my two girls, opposites that balance each other out. Entertaining story lines for kids and adults alike.

The book description is a far cry from the innocence that it attempts to portray, therefore, this book is misleading and deceptive. This books promotes witchcraft and bad behaviors that neither the cover nor the first few chapters indicate. Bean did not think Ivy was cool until she discovered her interest in magic. Parents be aware, but the book is a great reminder to mind the company you keep

I was disappointed because I thought I was getting books 1 and 2 not two of the same book. My granddaughter loves theses books. I just didn't pay close enough attention. It arrived in great condition and in a timely fashion.

The book came in a small envelope, well protected but without being wasteful, and in perfect condition. My daughter already owned the full series. However, she loaned book #1 to a friend whose dog and toddler sibling chewed it up. She is now 9, an amazing reader, and a bit nostalgic so she wanted to re-read the series, which led me to repurchase the missing book 1. She read it again in 1 day. The great thing about this book also is that while it is about 2 girls, it really appeals to multiple personalities of any gender. My 7yo boy is a reluctant reader at 1st grade level with a short attention span. He much prefers sports and running around and finding any way to expend his endless energy. However, he got curious about Ivy and Bean, so we started reading. He sat and read the entire first chapter to me and then even said "Reading isn't boring with a book like this!!!!" (I have tried every type of book imaginable with him .... who knew the trick was under my nose the whole time?!) It is great that he is reading a book with strong, smart, adventurous female leads also because it continues to counteract any gender stereotypes that society might try to sneak into his impressionable mind without being a work of activism. :) Overall, this book and series is a favorite in our household. I read books ~1-3 outloud with my daughter as her first series and then she couldn't wait for our reading time in the evenings, so she took off finishing the series by herself at school, aftercare, in the morning, any chance she could get. I look forward to reading them out loud again with my son although I already caught him tonight reading ahead in his room with his flashlight. I've dreamed of this day for a long time! That's definitely a testament to the quality of writing in this series.
