Steel is just the beginning of another brilliant Dragon series by Terry. I don't think I will ever get tired of her friends or her storytelling. While The Awakened Dragons were gems (if you haven't read this series, do it now.), this next set are metal, Steel being the first. Liam and Kate's book is filled with all the best - suspense, mystery, humor, romance - all coming together perfectly. It also introduces us to both new characters and old ones, building anticipation for the next in the series - and the next, and the next! By the end Liam has found his mate, but who will be next? Magnus or Titus? Either one and I'll be happy. And, happier still if I don't have long to wait!

It's an interesting idea though the trope with mates is kind of getting a bit too cliche. But the execution is quite bad. The characters reactions are ridiculous. You don't just realize there are dragons out there and be ok with it over a night. Especially so for an unimaginative character like Kate. And this was specifically told about her in the book. Everything happened way too fast, there was absolutely no reaction time which made it very unnatural. People did things without me understanding why exactly that was so and to me it was ridiculous that Kate decided to completely change her lifestyle because she suddenly has a mate. Her work, her individuality, her knack to get things done by herself were exactly the kind of things which made her real and she throws them off just like that and becomes a pretty, complacent companion. All in all the writing itself is pleasant but it feels like it's describing the adventures of children who burn by emotions in a span of minutes.

All Kate needed was someone to do some work around her house, so she hires a handyman from a company called Rent-A-Dragon. She gets Liam Steel a gorgeous man that she soon wants to keep in her life, but she has been so focused on her career she's not sure how to express herself anymore. All it takes is a handshake for Liam to realize that Kate is his mate, and he will do anything to have her forever. A dragon from Liam's past will try to come between Liam and Kate, but Liam will fight to protect her. This is a sexy, sweet read with some laughs and fascinating characters. Fantastic, I couldn't put this book down once I started reading, I loved it!
