Review:

I have wanted to read this Author before and I am glad I picked this one to read.

Now, I have not read the other books in the series, but I found the whole concept super interesting and I did not want to put it down until I was done. I loved it was a little supernatural and a lot of sexy, well it was a lot of both. The including of so many supernatural beings made the story more fascinating.

Without giving away all the surprises in the story or at least having not read the previous I thought they were surprises. The plot is centered around Alex a Siren who must mate to keep from dying and Hope the Human chosen to help him with that. I loved the tension and chemistry between Alex and Hope. Even though Hope is terrified she gives as good as she gets. Another thing I liked was the alternating between the past and the present. It really helped with getting to know and understand Alex and Hope, but especially Alex.

I cannot wait to have some more free time to read the other books in the series.

Dark Surrender is all about Alex, Alex is one hell of a hot, sexy egotistical siren and the strongest of them all and now Cassius has decided it's time that Alex mated, this should be so hard as all that Alex thinks about is sex, he needs sex to survive so that's all he thinks about, what Alex is about to uncover will spin his entire life, is he ready?
Hope is the human that waters the plants and flowers for the immortals, she was informed by Cassius that she would be receiving a promotion, she is now in a room with two other women, she starts feeling drawn to Alex unknown to her that they once shared a deeper connection.
The set of events that follow keep you turning them pages, but I won't be sharing them events as you seriously need to read Dark Surrender.
I loved every single part of this book, but i loved the friendships, family and loyalty that every character shows, this series takes you away from reality for a while and I love every single minute being with Sirens, werewolves, elves and vampires, although this book can be read as a standalone I would 100% recommend that you read the two other previous books.

Alexander is an immortal. A beautiful, siren-type immortal. His entire life he has done nothing but been described as pretty and he loathes it. Not so much that he doesn’t not use his looks to get all the women he wants in his bed or theirs or the closet or the floor of a bathroom.. You get my drift. So whenever he is asked to mate to let his friend and fellow immortal time to grieve the loss of his mate, Alex is a little put out by it. However, he will do anything for his friends, whether he does it with a smile or not. Just so happens the weak human is mating with may have more to her than meets the eye.

Alexander and Hope have the most volcanic chemistry that I have ever seen and I love it. I could not put Dark Surrender down. As usual Rachel Van Dyken has strung me into her web and not let me go! I can not wait for the rest of this series. Im chomping at the bits! The sex, the drama, and the storyline of this series has kept me going since book one and I can not wait to see what else is in store for our immortals.

Anything and I mean anything that Rachel writes I. Will. Read. I love her writing style and like I've said before, I'm not a paranormal fan... but this series, oh yeah... I love it... and if I could be anyone, oh I'd be a Siren.

Hello Alex... let's call him an attention seeker and he loves the attention and sex he gets, but things have changed. He needs to take a human mate... her name is Hope.

Alex tries to distance himself from her. She is the one he is destined to be with. Does he give in to the emotions and feelings? I mean sure he'll give her all of the physical attention she wants, but all the other stuff, well, you'll have to read this for yourself.

This third installment of this series can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend that you read the first two installments so you can fall in love with him the way the rest of us have.

RVD has done it again and you will not be disappointed. Thank you, thank you, thank you for Alex!! ?

I actually forgot how much I love these immortals. The Dark Ones saga weaves an intricate story of past and present, present and future, which flowed seamlessly through to this story and absolutely blew me away! I love when stories can take you by surprise, the twists and revelations keeping my heart pounding with excitement and my eyes forcing away the sleep late into the night.
Dark Surrender is the perfect mix of captivating and thrilling, hilarious and heartbreaking, and oh so HOT! But what did you expect from our tormented Siren...
I think this every time, and with every additional book it becomes even more true...but I can't wait to see where RVD takes us next!!

Dark Surrender by Rachel Van Dyken

☆☆☆5 stars☆☆☆

Alex is the epitome of a sexy soul stealer in this standalone novel in the Dark Ones series. He's a double whammy, not only a god among vampires, but a desirable siren that will have you falling at his feet.

He may be cocky and arrogant, but he always gets what he desires, even if it's an unwanted struggle to get there. The fight and attraction takes a whole new turn when he meets Hope, his future mate.

Hope is beautiful and kind, and the type of woman all men want. When Alex walks in, her mind is instantly scrambled, and the dirty thoughts ensue. The attraction is automatic and quick moving, which frustrates Alex, knowing it's somewhat out of his control.

Being a somewhat darker read, Rachel does what she does best, adding in the right amount of humor to give the storyline a perfect balance of awesomeness! Loving this series, and can't wait for the next installment.

I was quite looking forward to this release because Alex, I mean the guy is a male siren and he decides to volunteer so that his friend doesn’t have to because he wasn’t ready yet. Alex has been a very intriguing character from book 1 in the series so I really wanted to know about him and his past and who he ends up with.

Alexander is a male siren, a very powerful one at that. He needs to have sex to keep himself alive. Now that Cassius has declared that Alex and Mason have to take mates, Alex has reluctantly stepped up to delay the inevitable for his friend. Alex isn’t happy about mating especially not a weak human that all of course changes the instant Alex sees Hope. Alex has a quite a few issues, the main one being believing that no one can lover him for himself.

Hope is a gardener at the house of the dark ones, she’s led to believe that she’s getting a promotion instead finds out that she’s be chosen as a mate to a siren. A siren that is all too compelling to her senses.

Why not 5 stars: The story itself is quite short, I’d have liked more pages where we could see Alex and Hope interact, maybe more of their past interactions because the page limit and the pacing of the story made it a bit difficult to fully comprehend their love for each other. Also there was this particular scene of the couple with Mason that made me really uncomfortable especially when we later find out more of Hope’s past.

Regardless of this, I absolutely love the world and all the characters that the Dark One Saga has, Rachel van Dyken has done great job of creating a unique and fascinating storyline/over arching plot for the saga with different fractions of supernatural creatures and the history of the characters. It was nice seeing the other couples of series particularly Stephanie and Cassius who is of course still Cassius manipulating events and people but with a more understanding of the modern world (which was funny!). I’m looking forward to Mason and Timber book especially Mason’s because he lost his mate and hasn’t been the same since and since we get a glimpse of his mate who is a vampire, I’m very intrigued. I did like Alex and Hope I just wished we had gotten to know them more, especially Hope.

Overall while it wasn’t as great as I expected it to be I still like the saga, the characters and I’m looking forward to how it will all come together.

“There will always be a fight.” Cassius shrugged. “And more often than not – it will either be against your own darkness – or for the one you love.”

Once again Rachel Van Dyken has sucked me into the paranormal world of angles, demons, vampire, werewolves, and elves. In this third book, the fight between light and dark, good versus evil continues to mount. Alex has been offered up as the willing sacrifice that must mate for the sake of the team—a task he as a siren finds difficult when the selfish nature of taking for the sake of one’s own pleasure has been his entire world; the emotional connection of love has always eluded him. But what he never expects is to find the one person for whom he has been searching. What will happen when Alex is faced with his own darkness? Will he be able to overcome and find a love greater than the love for himself? Will he be able to rise to the challenge and face evil in order to find his own hope for victory?

Enter Hope. Hope is an incredible addition to this set of characters. From the beginning, Hope is not what Alex has chased—no, she is a curvy creature who works hard, the dirt under her fingernails a clear sign. For so long, Hope has suffered with feelings of abandonment. She does not see the beauty she holds, but she has this uncanny ability to see the best in others, a trait that brings forth her true strength. Hope seems to be rather meek and mild, but her reaction to Alex and her ability to push Alex’s buttons allow for a bit of wit and humor that fuel the fire that burns between the two—literally! There is just something about her that calls to Alex, and her blood calls for him, even if she does not want it to. She knows about the Immortals, but she never expected to be connected to them.

As the forces collide and the relationship is tested, the story itself intensifies. More of the history of this cast of character is revealed, building the conflict between good and evil, and setting up the plot for a continuation of not only Mason’s story, but Timber’s as well. (And let me just tell you, I think Timber may have the most interesting story to share of all! No pressure Rachel Van Dyken.) Dark Surrender is a page turner that will have you reading it in one setting and may just turn you into a paranormal reader if you weren’t one already!

*Although some may say this can be read as a standalone, I would caution against such advice. There is so much revealed in each story of the history that has built the war these characters are fighting. Missing those details will diminish the overarching plot for this series.

'Nothing could have prepared me for her taste.
Or the hunger that it stirred in me, until it was too late.'

In order to be as strong as possible for the upcoming war, it is imperative that the members of the Immortal Council mate. Ethan and Cassius have already found theirs, so that just leaves Alex, the siren and Mason, the werewolf to find theirs. With Mason still mourning the loss of his first mate, Alex agrees to take one for the team and be the next one to mate. Being a siren, a very powerful one at that, the idea of being mated to a human and staying loyal to them forever is not his idea of a good time. But he can’t deny that there is something about Hope that draws him to her and challenges him, even if she is a weak human. But when secrets are revealed and the past and present collide, will their connection be enough to see them through this war or will it end up being their downfall?

Dark Surrender is the third installment in Rachel Van Dyken’s paranormal Dark Ones Saga and even though it technically can stand alone, I think it’s best enjoyed if you start at the beginning. This story picked up right where Untouchable Darkness left off and a lot of mythology and world building happens in the first two books that I think you might be a bit lost if you only read this one. As it was, there were parts of this book that felt a little disjointed or confusing and if I hadn’t had the knowledge from the last two books to ground me, I might have been really wondering what was going on.

I liked this story, it wasn’t my favorite of the bunch so far, but it was still entertaining. I liked how things ultimately came together, it helped tie up the things that seemed confusing to me in a way that made sense and progressed the overarching plot. I wished that there had been a bit more of a focus on developing the relationship between Alex and Hope, I liked their banter and the way she challenged him, but it was few and far between. As always, I did enjoy the signature RVD humor and witty dialogue between the rest of the crew. Mason, Ethan and even Cassius are always good for a laugh when dealing with Alex. Honestly these moments are among my favorites in every book.

The end of this book sets up Mason’s story and I really can’t wait to finally get his story! I am already in love with the pinecone, berry and Disney loving werewolf and I am anxiously awaiting his book! If you’re a fan of RVD or just looking for a fresh take on paranormal romance, you should check out this book/series!

This isn’t an emotional button that this book isn’t going to push.
I’m not normally a fan of anything that has that paranormal edge but when it comes to Rachel van Dyken, I am more than ready to throw my apprehension aside and trust that she’s got me…and I am glad I did because not only did she have me but she delivered me a reality check, because this was superb.
The book was full to the brim, with everything that I would expect from an novel by this author, it too loyalty to the max and made sure that every ounce of friendship and family was wrung from each and every character. With her usual wit and charm, the characters each left their mark.
Alex has and is living his life as the last siren to its fullest and while he does he revels in the fact that he is unique, he makes good use of his abilities and while sex may be a necessary but pleasurable requirement for him, one that he takes full advantage of, it isn’t until the frivolity of the casual manner he has enjoyed the physicality of his life it put into perspective that the path his future is about to take suddenly changes direction because now he has to find himself a partner, a woman that he can have a relationship…a mate and a human one at that, this was not going to be easy or so he thought.
Alex, knew there was something different about Hope but he had no idea what. He could feel that she was the one for him but could he be more than a physical partner for her, could he give her the emotional connection that she needed. Could he get his head around the fact that this woman was not only his future but also the future of the sirens?
Can Hope show him that this is a leap of faith that he needs to take, not because he has to be because he wants too??

This series just keeps getting better and better!! I have been so anxious for Alex's book since I met his character in Ethan & Genesis's book!! This book was thrilling, dark, intrguing & heart pounding!!

Alex & Hope have an interesting relationship, one that has been tested throughout the ages. Alex is charasmatic and sarcastic and just all around sexy. Seriously, the man is a siren and just exudes sex. His past is painful and my heart went out to him for it, but at the same time, it made him stronger than he even knows. I loved that we got an in depth look inside of Alex's head and see that there is more underneath than what he shows everyone. He has a heart and he shows it when he meets hope, well when he comes back into his life.

Hope is awesome. She is spunky, sweet, caring and more powerful than she can imagine. Her history is a painful one also, and intertwined with Alex's. She isn't impressed that Alex is a siren and she doesn't fall all over herself to get his attention, but she does find him beautiful. She stands up for him and trusts him. She also loves him, truly loves him for him. When Hope learns of her past, seeing her take her rightful place was powerful to read.

These two characters have been connected to each other for ages (literally) and it seems like no matter what day and age it is, their hearts will always find each other. I loved Mason and Hope's friendship and seeing more of Mason, Cassius, Stephanie, Ethan & Genesis was fantastic!! These characters aren't just friends, they are family and they will do anything for each other. I am SO excited for Mason's book and can't wait to see what else Rachel Van Dyken comes out with!!

Dark Surrender is the third book in The Dark Ones Saga by Rachel Van Dyken. This book follows Lex and Hope’s story.

Lex is the narcissistic Siren that is only concerned about his pleasure and his pleasure alone. He is forced to mate by Cassius in order to strengthen The Immortals. In walks Hope. Hope has the extreme fortune (or misfortune, depending on how you look at it) of being selected to be Lex’s mate.

From this point forward begins the tug and pull between Lex and Hope. They both realize they having feeling and yet keep denying those feelings. It seems easier for them to lie to themselves than to accept their fate and go with it. This is the majority of the story.

There are also several glimpses into other character stories along the way. Timber gets a little more depth to him. We find out a bit more about his past. We go into more depth about Bannik’s evil plans. We do learn more about Lex’s past and find that there was once more to him than we all thought and why he is the way he is now. And we also get more into Mason’s life. Not so much his past but the present life. And clearly we see that we will be learning more about Mason in upcoming stories.

Dark Surrender wasn’t my favorite of the three books. I felt it skipped POV's a lot. Just as I was getting into what was happening, we would move to a different character or there would be a flashback. While I appreciate the informative nature of it all, it left me feeling a little all over the place.

Having said that, I still couldn’t put it down. While not being my favorite of the series, Rachel has a way of making you want to be involved with the story. She makes you immerse yourself into the world that she has created. I always enjoy reading a story from Rachel and look forward to reading many more.

Rachel is a master at paranormal romance. Dark Surrender is the third book in The Dark Ones saga. This book focuses on the sexiest and most powerful siren of all, Alexander. It is imperative that all of the Dark Ones mate, but how will Alexander, a creature whose sole purpose is to recharge by using others for sexual pleasure and nothing else, mate when Cassius tells him it's time? Is a siren, who is selfish and created to tempt everyone he comes in contact with, able to fall in love? Can a supreme sexual being be satisfied with one woman for the rest of his life? These are the questions that constantly plague Alexander and make him feel inadequate. When he has only ever been lusted after his whole life, why would he find himself worthy of love, and who would be able to see past their lust to actually feel that way about him? Enter Hope. Hope is a gardener staffed at the mansion. On the day Alexander must choose his mate, Cassius throws Hope in the running at the last second. Unbeknownst to Hope, she's the last living Elf. Her bloodline is royalty, and capable of mating and reproducing with a siren. Her powers also allow her to deny Alex, something that has never happened to him before. So, what happens when Alex chooses the only person who can deny him? Will Hope finally give in? Will she be able to see past his hardened exterior to see who he really is? Will Alex be able to survive if the mate he chooses ultimately rejects him? What role will her newfound powers play in the war with Bannik? What happens when both sides need her power? These are the questions you'll have to read to have answered!

WOW! FREAKING WOW!!! Ms. Rachel nailed it again! I was really looking forward to this book (actually all the books in the series) and darn! I was not disappointed! Dark Surrender is the 3rd book of The Dark Ones Saga and is Alex's story (the siren). This book is full of intense scenes and emotions. I laugh, fell in love and got teary eyed on this book. I was really curious on Alex's story and how he became the man he was. What I like about this book is that it's different from the other books that I've read. I also love how - as I keep reading the book - there's no boring parts and it kept my attention all throughout the book and it's full of surprises!
Overall, this book is amazing! Loved it! I can't wait for more of the series and how it will end!

Dark Surrender, Book 3 in Dark Ones Saga Series, This book can be read as a standalone.
Alex was the last known Siren in the immortal world. When he was young he was abandoned by his
parents. The only good thing that became of that was he was born the most beautiful child, so pretty,
so perfect, all creatures were drawn to him. As a siren in the immortal world, he needed to find a
suitable human mate to complete the cycle by procreating to keep the immortal race alive.
Hope was young when her parents died, she had grown up all alone. Taking a job for the immortals as a
caretaker of plants in there compound. When the time came for Alex to take a human, she appeared to
be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Or was she?
Alex being the siren he was, had no interest in long term commitment or “Love.” He needed sex and
only sex to survive. After taking Hope as his mate and completing the mating process he would push her
away to later realize that something was different; different with her.
I enjoyed the story of Alex and Hope after is progressed. In the beginning I felt that Hope deserved
better, maybe Mason. Alex was so self-centered and just cared about himself. It took some confusion
in his life to actually come to terms with why Hope was his choice. Hope just wanted to be loved,
something she only experienced once in her life. Could that happen again?
Thank you Rachel Van Dyken for continuing the Dark Ones Saga. Looking forward to Mason’s story.

RVD delivers a sexy and fast paced installment to The Dark Ones Saga . Alex has been intriguing thus far in the series, and I couldn’t wait to learn all his secrets. The siren has been on the outer fringes, but I knew there had to be more to his story. Hope is a new face, but it didn’t take long for me to adore her. She’s charming and her whit is perfect for Alex. I couldn’t get enough of their banter. The steam factor between Hope and Alex is high for RVD; it’s sexy without being over the top. As always, I enjoyed the supporting cast, especially Mason. He is put into some compromising situations to say the least.

The only complaint I have with this book is it moves too quickly and left me wanting more. I never really connected to Hope and Alex’s romantic storyline like I wanted. I can appreciate that his character wouldn’t have a slow burn, but I had a difficult time buying into their insta-love/chemistry. I liked the sexier scenes but wish they had balanced out with the emotional aspect that RVD is known for. I enjoyed Hope but wanted to see more of her of background and interaction with Alex. Overall, this is solid addition to the series, and I am excited to have Mason’s book next.

Dark Surrender is the third installment in the Dark Ones Saga and this time, the much anticipated story of Alex has arrived. Alex is a siren and not just any typical siren but he is a powerful one. He loves sex and looking for a place to belong. And so what happens when this siren falls hard and must surrender to his feelings for the one woman that he tries to distance himself from. Can a man who feeds and lives off on sex surrender his feelings for his destined mate?

While Dark Surrender can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend you to read the previous two books in order to understand the characters and the past history. Rachel Van Dyken beautifully weaves grit, sexy undertones, and raw emotions in this compelling paranormal romance. And of course, we cannot forget that RVD does her sprinkling of humor as well. So if you are looking for a PNR that is packed with entertainment, charismatic characters and love then get ready to surrender to RVD’s writing and of course, Alex.

I loved Dark Surrender. It's the perfect mix of fun laughs and dark and serious. Who knew Alex having to find a mate could make me laugh so much. We also learn that he is tormented. Being a siren isn't all it's cracked up to be. Hope shows up at work like every other day and just so happens she runs into Cassius and is gold she was getting a promotion. Yeah right!! Hope and Alex have a tough road ahead of them and it was a joy seeing them get to that point. I love all the characters from all the previous books. They are all do different but to them they are family and family sticks together. Mason is next and I do can't wait for his story.

4/5 Stars!!

Alex is finally here!! Let me repeat. Alex. Is. Finally. Here.

And Lord help me, his story was awesome!

I won’t make this a long review, because this is one of those books you have to read for yourself. It can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading the other books in the series because they are great books and because there are a few things that are explained in earlier books.

Let’s just say, Alex is sex personified…like literally. He’s a siren. It’s his whole job. When Alex’s mate is brought into the mix, let’s just say, balance is a precarious thing.

I enjoyed this third book in the Dark Ones series the most. Not only because I was intrigued by Alex’s past and I think Alex is one of Van Dyken’s best characters to date, but because she has woven a tale so rich and entertaining, you are literally sucked in and immersed.

A fantastic addition to the Dark Ones and another hit for RVD!

Alex! I have been waiting for his story since the Dark ones! Aack I so wanted him to have his happily ever after. This is the 3rd in a series of paranormal romance, which is usually not my thing, but Rachel Van Dyken! Anything of hers is an immediate purchase :) I adore this series, the world is so well told, you feel as if you know these characters, as if you are right there with them. Alex is the next in line to mate, but he resists this very hard. And a girl comes along who was in no way meant to be a part of this process for him, but she is exactly what he needed. Throw in a little tension, some fighing and war coming, you have an amazing book! must read!

Dark Surrender is the third installment in The Dark Ones Saga by Rachen Van Dyken. In this book we finally get Alex's story as he is the next immortal set to be mated. Alex is a male siren and a very powerful one. At the beginning of Dark Surrender Alex chooses his mate, Hope. What better mate for a powerful, exquisitely beautiful siren than a human that simply showed up to water the plants? The relationship between Alex and Hope was a roller coaster of emotions from dislike, lust, possibly like, maybe love to a happily ever after. I think my favorite part of this book though was the relationship between Mason and Alex and then Hope. Rachel Van Dyken has an amazing ability to write characters that readers wish were real so we could be a part of their friendship and families. Dark Surrender is a solid 4 star book for me and I ended it wishing I could show up at Ethan's home and hang out for a bit with Cassius, Stephanie, Ethan, Genesis, Alex, Hope and Mason.

Shout out to Molly McAdams for getting us MORE of this saga. ;)

I received this ARC provided by the author/publisher in exchange for an unbiased opinion.

I really enjoyed this story. It felt too short though. I really wanted more.

Alex the Siren. Can he fall in love? Can he really be a ONE woman man? He didn't really show me a change in him. So he was a little of my problem with the story. But I did love Hope!!!

There is a twist in this story that I didn't see coming. This twist did make my heart break for Hope and dislike Alex a little bit :(

This is a must read series!!!! Each book is about another Dark One!

Rachel does it again! With each book in this series it gets thaty much more complex as more and more reveals. When I read the first book I was hooked now that I'm on book 3 it's just intensified that much more with each one.

I love Alex and Hope's story. Alex is so hard to resist to began with because come on he's a siren but throw Hope into the picture and their world is set on fire! I read this whole book in one sitting, I did not stop. I loved the whole story. I loved everything about it. I felt like we got a lot of back history of each that made the way everything came about that much better when it came to an end. I like that each book in this series has a different feel because each couple is different. I cannot wait for what will unfold in Masons book you never know what Rachel has in store for us!

This paranormal series, is one of my absolute favorites. I am not huge into paranormal but she makes these books so fun, entertaining, sexy, that you just get swept away.

With Archangels, Werewolves, Vampires, Demons, Sirens, and Elves, this book will draw out your emotions making you laugh, making you tense, keeping you 100% engaged.

Alex & Hope ... you'll find a story made of sirens and elves, with a reality that makes you forget you're even reading a paranormal

Alex... Sigh. The Siren has been named as tribune to be the next of the immortals to be mated, whether he likes it or not. And he thinks he'll be able to fight it, that is until he meets Hope.

Hope has been working for the immortals, watering their plants of all things, when all of a sudden she finds her a room as one of the chosen ones for Alex. The thing is that there is something different about Hope. She's not as enamored with the beautiful man as most humans and there's something else...

The book finally gives us the background on Alex that we've always wanted. The book is intermingled with the signature RVD humor and passion. I couldn't put the book down! I'm usually not one for paranormal reads, but The Dark One Series by RVD is perfection!

Alex Alex Alex...

A siren who needs sex to survive meets a girl who he doesn't want to need, but ends up needing her more than even sex. Sounds promising, right?

I liked Hope more than Alex. She didn't want to be there and was thrust into a situation that scared her. I felt bad as Alex came to terms with his love for her, not just need.

But I definitely liked Alex and his sexiness. Oh yes. I sure did. There were a few scenes that had me fanning my face. Rachel knows how to write sexy without it being too over the top. I was left just as satisfied as the characters. :)

I also liked the friends. I am anxiously waiting for the next one. I have a feeling this one may be a bit more emotional. But I'm ready for it.

Love the paranormal writings of Rachel Van Dyken.

Alex a powerful siren, who really does not know the type of power he has. Hiding behind his ability to attract the opposite sex for satisfaction. Feeling that he isn't worthy of Love. Alex is part of the immortals that must mate with a human in order to help mankind and immortal kind survive. Enter Hope, who doesn't understand why she is there and feels such an attraction to Alex that she fights with every step. Hope is actually an elf. Elves are the first and must be protected. Hope is the last of her kind. She is the Hope of the future but will Alex get past his own insecurities to love.

Alex Alex Alex how I adore thee. Another amazing story from Miss Rachel Van Dyken she never disappoints. Each new addition to the dark ones Saga seems to get better and better. And as for most of Rachel's books she seems to always know how to get everyone to feel the emotions the characters are going through whether it be happy sad excited and so many others I'm not going to give any spoilers but I do have to say don't miss out on this one you'll regret it.

I am completely in love with this series that RvD is writing!! I love that the story is finally a story I haven't read in 20 other books by other authors just changing names and minor details. It is original, it's interesting, and as always, the writing is phenomenal. I hope this series stick around for a long time to come!! I seriously devour every book in this series within hours. I just can't put them down, and this latest installment is no different. The books can be read separate but I love them as a whole. The nice part is that I don't feel like I am rereading anything because I am reading the whole series.

My favorite books to read are paranormal romances, the thought of something magical mixed with luscious men, I mean who needs anything else right?!!? Alex is so full of himself he cannot see what's right in front of him, his salvation...Hope. And I don't mean hope as in hope, I mean Hope as in a hot little elf with curvy hips and attitude. Alex didn't think he would find a mate so quick but the minute their eyes connect there's old love, new love, magic, and a few steamy love scenes you won't mind reading a few times. I cannot wait to see what Rachel has in store for the rest of the Dark Ones!!

WOW...I really enjoyed this book. The whole story and how it unfolded was brilliant. This is definitely one of my favorite paranormal reads and it is by far my favorite in this series.

I just loved Hope and how strong she was. The banter between her and Alex was amazing. I found myself giggling a few times. The way Rachel threw some humor in their was great as well. Now, I'm ready for Mason's story. She set it up nicely.

I don't read a lot of paranormal, however, everytime I pick up a book in this series, I am reminded how much I actually love it.

ALEX!! I have been dying to read his story! I was so excited to learn that he was the main character in this book.

This story is sexy. It is fun. It is sweet. It is everything you crave from a romance story and more. The paranormal aspect is so well written. It is intricate and well developed.

I cannot wait to read more from this series! Another amazing read from Rachel Van Dyken!

Alex could be sensitive about things, "nostrils flaring, he sat up on his knees “Did you just call me… old? Me?” Alex really isn't one for sharing, “son of a b****!” I charged at him slamming his body against the nearest wall as cement crumbled to the floor. “You touched mine?” Alex sometimes does desperate things, when he's well desperate, “hotel.” My eyes greedily searched down the street. “See? Hotel Monaco, perfect. Sex, room service — no werewolves or demons ***k blocking me.” I loved this book, and I'm eagerly waiting for Mason's book

I thought Alex's story was interesting as well as fun with some of the moments shared between the characters!
You get a real sense of family and the protective side of the men!
We learn about what happened in the past thro Alex and what he has to do to survive or so he has been told!

I loved the funny banter and quirkyness each character has! You'll understand when you read it for yourself!
There was a part that confused me a little but in the end I think this is my favorite book of this series!

I sort of fell out of love with paranormal books ,until this series got me hooked again. I love how each books story is intertwined but deals with differnt paranormal characters. A siren is something new to me to read, but i was engrossed in the story and mysticism of the characters. I really recommedn this series and especially this book, ther is romance, intrigue and a gripping story

Alex and Hope
I loved Alex in the previous books of this series but at the beginning of this book he made me mad. I understand why he did what he did but I still didn't like it. Hope I loved her as a character and I loved the whole back story of her character. It was a fast paced story and there was always action. I don't want to give to much away it this easily became my favorite of the series. I am so looking forward to Mason's book.
This will be a book I read again and one I will recommend to my friends.

Rachel Van Dyken can write anything. Anything. And, I'll gladly read it all. The Dark Ones Saga is paranormal meets Eagle Elite. It has all the friendship, family, humor, loyalty, and sexiness we've grown to love from Rachel. I have to remind everyone that Alex has been my favorite from the start of the series. Alex is the sexy, funny, tortured siren. The last remaining siren. He loves being able to bend the wills of others. The be the most attractive thing around. He needs sex to survive and he enjoys the heck out of it. Until he has to take a mate. A human mate. Hope. There's something about her, but he's not sure what. He just knows he needs to take her as a mate for them all to survive. A crazy revelation sets off a dangerous turn of events for Alex and the others. Hope doesn't understand what's happening. She knows about the immortals, but she didn't know this. She's burning from the inside out and touching Alex is the only thing that alleviates the pleasure/pain. Alex has no problem servicing her physically, but there won't be emotion. Or caring. Or love. Or will there? How long can Alex hang on before he either burns to death or gives into his feelings. Can Hope convince him to take a chance? I've been looking forward to Alex's story for a long time and I wasn't disappointed! It was everything I wanted it to be. Sexy, funny, mysterious, did I say sexy? Alex for the win!

"I can't say you're pretty. But I can say you're dangerously beautiful, the type of beautiful that hits a person in layers over and over again until every sense is assaulted with everything - you. Pretty wouldn't do a siren justice, now, would it?"

Very much enjoyed Alex’s story, even though it was frustrating at times. I wanted to slap him upside the head several times but it all worked out. Enjoy this Dark Ones world - keep the books coming Rachel!
