Loved it! Not only was the story line intricate, suspenseful, and very clever, but I could hear Hugh Laurie's wicked, dry sense of humor on every page. I'm sure that I giggled and out-right laughed so much that I had to stop reading more often than I gasped in surprise or said "Yikes!" outloud. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys thrillers, but it is an absolute must for fans of Hugh Laurie's comedic... wait for it... brilliancy!

Amazingly clever language and imagery with a captivating story. I couldn't help but to read it in Hugh 's voice as I progressed. My one regret is that it took so long for me to start over from years ago and complete it!

The book catches your attention from the first sentence. Laurie's humor is quirky and enjoyable, even in print. It was a fun, suspenseful novel. I knocked off a star though because the plot gets a little convoluted and hard to follow. Of course, I was reading it while nursing my newborn, so sleep deprivation might have contributed to my ineptitude. I got it on Kindle's books under $3.99 list at the time, so it was definitely worth that price.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. In some ways it's very typical British humor (which I enjoy), but it also has an element of originality and wit that made it a quick and interesting read. I would highly recommend it.

The Gun Seller was quite funny, yet oddly serious at the same time. Good character development and enjoyable to read. I'd read another book by him if he'd write it! Oh, I'm not sure if I'd recommend it if you don't like British humor...

Really fun read! It is like Birtie Wooster and House got together to write this book. The book moves quickly, never boring. I find myself laughing out loud sometimes. I am glad I traveled in the UK so I understand the British terms he uses.

Hugh, thankfully, stays in character from page first to page last.  I'm hoping he meant us to be comfortable with the lead - as we were always comfortable with Bertie.  If so, my vote for the movie lead is Hugh Laurie.

This was a very entertaining book with a very likable main character. I laughed out loud while reading this book and pulled people up to me to have them read the same funny passages. Can't wait for Mr. Laurie to write a sequel.

Read the thriller...The Gun Seller by Hugh Laurie...it was a slow start, but then the action began, and it was hard to put it down..the descriptive narrative was spectaticular throughout and every page had a surprising event that I hadn't expected! A wonderful and intertaining eBook from the Kindle Bookstore at the store.com.

Very interesting premise and I never had a clue about how a "happy ending" was going to be achieved. Although the numerous asides were very distracting, and a little more background on the lead characters would have helped create better empathy, The Gun Seller was a great read and I hope we see more novels from Laurie.

Hugh Laurie had me hooked from the first page on. The story kept me in suspense, but at the same time kept me in stitches over his wonderful sense of humor. I have recommended this book highly to all my friends.

Read this over Christmas vacation. It kept me interested through out. The only problem I have is the ending. It seems to be a lot easier to wright the first 99% than the last 1%. It kinda left me hanging. Also sad that there is not a follow up from Dr. House.

Well written and a terrific story line. Right up there with Len Deighton and Martin Cruz Smith. And funny as hell. If one is slightly paranoid about government dirty tricks and corruption, this is a book for you.

Some reviewers admired the dry British wit supposedly exhibited in The Gunseller. The actor Laurie should stick to acting and not writing, as this book is both adolescent and confusing. The amateurish plot meanders all over the place and proceeds rather like a old British sports car, bouncing and leaking oil indiscriminately. His blues music album is considerably better than this dog of a book.

Hugh Laurie displays a wonderful sense of humour in this mystery novel. It's a quick, entertaining read. Wish it were in print in the US. Don't hesitate to buy a used copy from the UK - mine showed up in just a few days.

As Dr. House, his continous cryptic dialogue is interesting. As the main character in the book, it was less than interesting. In his wtitings, he just could say "yes" or "no" without oververbalizing each thought. Got tedious afterwhile. Moreover, the plot had a lot of holes in it from my perspective and the word "plausibility" kept coming to my mind.
