In Control is another fascinating part of the Inside Out series by Lisa Renee Jones. Wow! We finally get some inside information on Mark Compton who has been a controlling master in this whole series. If you have been following this story you know about Rebecca. I think as more facts come out about what happened to Rebecca it shows us the deep feelings that Mark truly had for this woman. The mystery of her disappearance has brought out emotions in Mark we've never seen before. Crystal is a woman who is brought into Mark's life because of his mother's illness. Crystal starts to realize what kind of man Mark is. She has feelings for him, but she knows he's not in the state of mind to care about another woman at this point. However, she is determined to help Mark thru his pain. I have to say this is the first part of the series that I really started to care about Mark. Ms. Jones absolutely knows how to bring out the feelings of her characters. You must read this story as part of the Inside Out saga. It will show you a whole other side of Mark's character and the woman who may save him from the overwhelming pain he is feeling. Once again the author never disappoints her readers.

My Control is a very short novella about Mark & Crystal, written in both POVs - we already read about their story in 2 previous novellas and this one will be their last novella before they get their own full-length book next!

We all just read No In Between and we know what's happening in the whole Rebecca & Ava situation.
Ava has been released from prison but the police think they have enough evidence to arrest her again on monday ...
Crystal just arrived in San Francisco to help Mark with Allure - and to just be there for him.
She knows he's not the right man for her - she's not the submissive type he normally goes for. But she still wants him - she wants to help him through this whole mess even though she knows she's going to get hurt in the end.

Mark is this close to snapping. He's not the cool dominant in-control guy he always was. He feels responsible for whatever happened to Rebecca - and he is only now - maybe, finally - admitting that he did have love-like feelings towards her. But now it's too late - the words won't help her or make her happy, not anymore.

He's alone inside his own personal hell, telling himself he can fight it alone.

But Crystal. Crystal doesn't seem to care that she should be running away from him, not towards him.
He doesn't understand her - he only knows that she's the cause of very new and strange feelings in him. Feelings he hasn't allowed himself to feel for a decade.
And because it's all too much and too scary he tries to push her away ....

What will happen to Mark & Crystal?
Will there be a HEA?
What did REALLY happen to Rebecca?
Will everybody die at the end? o.O
Or will there be a horrible Cliffhanger?

I'M NOT TELLING YOU THAT OF COURSE... ☺

l don't want to spoil anything ☺
OK - I might tell you that Mark & Crystal will get their own full length novel soon:
I BELONG TO YOU
so - we'll see them again☺☺☺ and of course we'll meet Sara & Chris again too - there's still a last book left - Valentine's Day 2015!!! ☺

AMAZING NOVELLA!!!

Such a heartbreakingly wonderful novella - all these little Mark novellas to prepare us for the 'real' thing ☺ I BELONG TO YOU, coming in November!!!
I just love Mark! And Crystal is just the perfect woman for him.

"She quiets the storm inside of me and I'll be damned if I understand it."

She doesn't scare easily - even though he tries his best to push her away.

This novella - short as it was - had everything we need in our #InsideOut stories ... lots of feelings and suspense and some very erotic moments too of course ☺

Poor Mark - I just want to jump into the books and hug the hell out of him...

...he doesn't want to be touched though - his Subs never dared touch him. But Crystal - she just doesn't care about his famous control - she just does what she feels he needs in this exact moment.
I just love those 2 together....

I CAN'T WAIT TO FINALLY READ THE FULL-LENGTH NOVEL ABOUT THEM!!!

Other than the shortness of My Control I have NOTHING to complain about ☺

If you loved every book of the Inside Out series - just like I did - you will LOVE this one too ----->>> GO GET IT ☺

I mentioned it before - but can I please have the Inside Out TV Show on my TV tomorrow??? And can it please be a daily thing? Because I want/need to stare at (naked) Chris & Mark all day long!

If you’ve paid attention, you’ve heard the buzz about these books, the Inside Out Series from Lisa Renee Jones. I’m telling you – they are living up to all expectations for me. What you should know before reading is that these stories work best if you have been reading them in order: the story will fall together in a neat line, and all of the character information that comes from the novellas will serve to give you a better sense of the characters after you have seen them act in what may be, not always the most understandable of ways.

This happens to be a story from Mark’s point of view: a seriously controlling, buttoned-down man with an iron-fisted grasp of his own self-definition as a Master: removed, protective and always in control. Mark can come off as arrogant, and there most certainly is that quality there in his demeanor, but mostly his control is domineering and fully in view, a near challenge to disobey or disrupt his plans.

But, his life is disintegrating around him: his mother is fighting for her life, Allure is under constant attack from the paparazzi looking for scoops and an inside track on the disappearance of Rebecca, and the police are searching for a murderer. Nothing is as it was, and Mark’s own responses to the multiple crises have shaken him to his core. The Master is no longer able to control the emotions that he has long hidden beneath layers of his icy control, and Crystal has challenged him even more.

With her attachment to his family, her refusal to just bend to his every wish, and secrets of her own, Crystal fascinates and infuriates Mark. Attraction between them is scorching, the two in a scene simply steam up the space, but in not acquiescing to his demands for subservience, she has managed to force Mark to face his emotions and start to feel when he would rather just lose himself in the pleasure her body can bring.

A clearly plotted and revealing installment in the story, we finally see Mark as fallible and all too human, dealing with guilt that he has suppressed, recognizing what he sees as his own failures, and trying to find answers to the puzzles that surround him. Most striking is the empathy that one feels for him, a not always easy character to like or understand, throughout this short glimpse into his own story in his words. Yes, Lisa Renee Jones brings heat and steam, but she gives us what makes these stories so wonderful and captivating: a look into the man who seemed so impervious and controlled, as he learns that perhaps that isn’t the ‘real him’.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review: I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

In THE MASTER UNDONE and MY HUNGER, we just scratch the surface of Mark Compton and Crystal Smith’s relationship. In MY CONTROL we dive a little deeper into their complicated feelings they have for one another. Ms. Jones gives us the gift of dual POV’s so we can finally understand what is going on in Crystal’s head, as well as, the one hell of a mess that continues to go on in Mark’s head. All three of these little sexy gems are all leading up to the BING BANG I like to call, I BELONG TO YOU, where we get a FULL-LENGTH novel of these two crazy kids! Once again, Lisa Renee Jones flies to the top of my MOST ANTICIPATED list! Don’t get me wrong, I love Chris and Sara’s love story, but there is something about Mark, something that has stuck with me since the very beginning. This man, like Chris Merit, is broken. But unlike Chris Merit, he has yet to find his Sara, his reason for going on, his heart. Mark lost that, and he is NEVER getting it back. Enter Crystal Smith, the woman who shatters his control, and is slowly digging her way into his heart, or what’s left of his heart anyway.

I believe MY CONTROL is the start of Mark’s journey to finding the MASTER in himself again. He has already proved that he can’t do it alone. To his surprise, the woman who shakes his control, is the one woman who will help him get it back.

I don’t know if I have ever been more addicted to a series in my life. Lisa Renee Jones is my hero. With the Inside Out Series, Ms. Jones has taken me on so many journeys and so many suspenseful, sexy, and thrilling whirlwinds, that I just never want it to end. I will ALWAYS crave these characters! But when it does get to a point when the journey finally ends, I will be devastated. But even though the story is finished, the characters and their stories will always have a place in my heart. They will always be there, and NEVER forgotten.

Another great novella by Lisa Renee Jones that fills the void between Sarah and Chris's path contained in the Inside Out novels. Really, we wouldn't have a story if it weren't for Mark, so all glimpses into what happening with him are welcome! You really must be reading the series for this novella to make any sense and you should have read No In Between first.

My Control takes place in the few days between Ava's initial arrest and her bail hearing. I think this is where we really get to see Mark Compton in his deepest and darkest moments. For me, its a case where every novella centered on him ( From My Master through My Hunger) gets us closer to understand how things with Rebecca went so terribly wrong. More and more we are exposed to Mark's vulnerabilities and his personal reconciliation for the part he played in Rebecca's demise. If only this reckoning could have come sooner, we might be going down a totally different path with Mark.

As it is, My Control is good dose of Mark facing the consequences of his lifestyle. Mark is finally getting that his vulnerability isn't exclusively related to his feelings for Rebecca, but the events surrounding her disappearance are certainly driving his coming to terms with his his "softer" side. We know he can love as he is very dedicated to his family, but romantic love and familiar love are not the same. With the entrance of Crystal and the mysterious effect she has on him, Mark battles what seems inevitable, his fall as the consummate Master.

My Control is told from 2 point of views, Marks and Crystals. I will say that now that I've gotten to know Crystal a bit more, both through Marks eye's and her own POV chapters, I'm warming up to her. She appears to have some experience in dealing with men like Mark and she doesn't back down easily. Of course I'm still holding out for Rebeccas' safe return, hoping her disappearance is all a part of another ruse, but I like where Crystal's heart and intentions lie and feel that Mark may need to show restraint, or be bound to make the same mistake twice.

Lisa's story telling is always superb and once again her writing; the characters, the plot, the steamy scenes always make Lisa's books what I call easy reads. Once again, I am left feeling anxious for the next pieces in the puzzle that is Mark #YesMaster Compton.
5 stars and a definite must read for anyone immersed in the Inside Out Series.

My Control is just further proof that Lisa Renee Jones can pack a wallop into a very short space. This book takes place after No In Between and follows Mark meeting up with Crystal again Of course, they come head to head and fight, but they also lust (or maybe love?) even more. Hands down, this is my favorite Mark POV books thus far in the INSIDE OUT series. Why? We FINALLY get Crystal's point of view! I have been dying to get into her head. And while, I've loved her from the get-go, if you haven't been swayed, I have a feeling you will. The sympathy she shows in regards to the elephant in the room is admirable, and the empathy she shows makes you wonder what her story is.

We also finally get that glimmer of controlling, domineering Mark in this installment. There are these two scenes that I read and I was actually giddy. Just imagine me bouncing in my seat saying "Yes! Bring the Master back!" The Master's there and he's definitely coming back out to play in the full-length book of Mark's story- I Belong to You (Nov. 2014). As for Crystal, her whole demeanor is something I love. I think she's good for Mark. She's not looking for sunshine and roses. She's painfully aware of the reality of their situation. But it doesn't stop either one of them from having a stall moment. They can feel the something more, but give the circumstances in San Francisco and New York they know it's not the time.

If this is just a glimpse of what we can expect from the next full-length book, then sign me up. I've been a fan of Mark's from the very first book, If I Were You, and he's stolen even more of my heart in the books between. I want nothing more than to get his happily ever after. From the looks of where My Control leaves off, that is going to be a long journey for both he and Crystal. But I can't wait!

Happy Reading!

(Source: I received a digital copy of this book for free on a read-to-review basis. Thanks to Gallery, Threshold, Pocket Books and NetGalley.)

This was short, sexy, and filled with both emotion and intrigue! I really didn’t want it to end!

I have to say that I love reading about Mark and Crystal, they’re so right together, but she also pushes him out of his comfort zone, and forces him to feel things that he doesn’t want to feel. It is so good to see Mark not in control for once!

The storyline in this was good and led on from the previous two novellas about Mark and Crystal. It was really good to see more of these two, and to also see the effects of things we discovered in ‘No In Between’ on Mark and his relationship with Crystal. I got so into this book that I didn’t want it to end, and I can’t wait to find out what happens in ‘I belong to you’!
There were some sexy scenes in this, and as usual they were steamy, but I loved how the sex wasn’t the only thing about this book, there was mystery too.

I really enjoyed this, and I really can’t wait to read ‘I belong to you’ now!

I give this 5 uncontrollable stars.....

This ARC was given by Lisa Renee Jones and Gallery, Threshold, Pocket Books via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Mark Compton just became my favorite character in the series! I absolutely love every word that keeps the reader guessing what will happen next. This novella intensifies the relationship between Mark and Crystal to a whole new level. She becomes more than just help or a way to escape his messed up reality. She becomes a desire and a need in his crazy, spiraling-out-of-control life.

Now that Mark knows what happened to Rebecca, he realizes he must cut his strings with Crystal. She can no longer be put in danger by being involved with him. He knows the only way to cut her loose, is to to show her what he is truly capable of doing to a woman when he is in complete control. He understands that he will lose Crystal, however he knows that she will be safe. She will not share the same fate as Rebecca.

4 stars--MY CONTROL is the latest novella in Lisa Renee Jones’s adult, contemporary, suspense Inside Out romance series. This is Master and Dom Mark Compton’s continuing storyline as he begins to lose what is left of his control. Told from alternating first person POV (Mark and Crystal) My Control is a quick and emotion laden read.

With the whereabouts of his former sub still unknown and the possibility that she has met her death at the hands of someone her once trusted with her life, Mark Compton is a man on the verge of an emotional and physical breakdown. MY CONTROL pulls the reader into a storyline that overlaps the premise of book four NO IN BETWEEN and gives the reader an up close and personal look at a man whose guilt and emotional well being are dependent on the outcome of the police investigation.

Lisa Renee Jones adds another exciting layer to her Inside Out Series pulling us closer to the final reveal

**Note: If you haven’t read the books that came before this one, this review will have spoilers.**

In this Inside Out novella, we see things from Mark and Crystal’s point of view. This (kind of) takes place after No In Between, so you shouldn’t read it if you haven’t at least read the four novels.

The investigation into Rebecca’s disappearance is still going on, Ava has been arrested for Rebecca’s murder, and this novella basically centers around how Mark is handling the situation as he waits for more information.

As a Master, Mark Compton is not accustomed to losing control, but as the full weight of losing Rebecca settled on him and he had to face not only his feelings about her, but also about Crystal, that’s exactly what happened. He’s realized that he will never be able to tell her that he did have feelings for her and he continues to blame himself for putting her in danger in the first place. He pushed her into situations she wasn’t entirely comfortable with. He brought Ava into the mix. Now, Rebecca is gone and Mark feels responsible.

It was nice to see a different side of Mark than what we see in the Sara/Chris stories, and to get inside his head for a while. In the novels, he comes across as a very controlled, unemotional person (which he is), so having a glimpse of the man behind all that armor was interesting. I suppose we partially have Crystal to thank for that. I don’t know the whole Crystal/Mark relationship story, but I’m curious to see how it will unfold.

Crystal isn’t the type of girl Mark usually goes for. He likes his women submissive, from what I know of him, and Crystal doesn’t like giving up control anymore than Mark does. But in this novella, control seems to be something they both struggle with—Mark, fighting to hold onto it and prevent himself from feeling anything deeper than sensual pleasure with Crystal, while Crystal tries to be what Mark needs without submitting to him.

I’m looking forward to the next novella to see what happens with Mark and Crystal. (Expected publication for the next one, I Belong to You, is November 2014.)

My Control, Lisa Renee Jones
Review from jeannie zelos book reviews

Well, an insight into what goes on in Mark’s head...isn’t that something to be relished? We get a bit more understanding of the man, but he’s still very hidden and confused ( and confusing). Despite his faults I like Mark- well what I understand of him. He seems cold, logical and controlled but I can’t help wondering what the real man is like, the one that's hiding underneath this facade. It seems to me he’s done it for so long even he thinks it’s the “real” him but I can’t agree. We see glimpses of someone else when he slips some of that control, when genuine emotion slides through. It seems like Crystal holds the key to opening him up, freeing his secrets, helping him deal with what made him develop this way of coping, but will he let her in? So far he’s done his best to keep her at bay, and his guilt over what happened between him and Rebecca, where he kept her away even knowing she loved him as he thought that was best for her, is still the major sticking block to anything developing between him and Crystal. They have a draw between them – that’s clear, and Crystal genuinely cares for him and his family and could easily let more happen, but Mark- the Control Freak- won’t... can’t bring himself to let it. Tied up with all that is still the big search for Rebecca, which seems to be focussing back to Ava and her allies, but she’s missing which places everyone she may have a revenge streak on in danger. The trouble with madness is it’s unpredictability, and as she certainly seems to have lost the plot no one quite knows what she’ll do next.
I’m still in two minds about this, its a fabulous gripping read of course, but to me it belongs in the main books as do most of the other shorts, and drawing what should be a section of the story out into a separate novella is doing the reader a disservice. They’re paying for a story, and these novellas really need to be read with the main books as they are a definite part of the main story. I can deal with novellas that are just little insights into a character and not needed to follow the main plot, but unless these ones are all going into the main books then the story is going to fall short for those that haven't read them IMO, and if it is in the main book why release them as separate? I’m uncomfortable at what seems to be like a way of making the reader pay more for a story. I love this series, and am gripped by it BUT I have had most of the books free for review – if I'd had to buy them I wouldn’t have got this far, as I simply couldn’t afford it. I’ll do a quick price to date...hmnn, including the three next ones due out this year, its so far just a few pence under £44!!! That's a lot of money....and I'm not sure that’s the end of the story or if there is more to come after those?
Stars: well, my pricing/format reservations aside its a full five stars for the story.

I reviewed this at MustReadBooksOrDie with my friend Shelley!

Shel: For those following this series, this novella feels like an intense pre-cursor to Mark's novel (coming out soon) Court:(exciting for me, I didn't realize we get a full length novel from his POV). Shel: It follows less than 24 hours of what's going on in the hunt to find Rebecca. Mark is under extreme stress. The good news? Crystal is in town. The bad news? Crystal is in town. It's good for Mark to have her near and to have someone who doesn't want anything from him and yet having her close makes him feel out of control. And poor Crystal, she's trying to keep him steady and sane in an insane time.

Court: Yes! I feel like this poor woman is going to either a) end up biting off more than she can chew or b) give up her strong independent self for this man, because he is so overpowering. I am anxious to see how things go between them, because obviously she gives him something he is in dire need of right now. What that will mean for her mental health in the future remains to be seen. I am SO ridiculously nervous and excited for the book from Mark's POV...because WHAT IS HE HIDING, PEOPLE!

Shel: Things between them get intense very quickly and it seems like the story travels into warp speed until the end. It ends leaving you very curious about what the hell is about to happen with Mark, with Crystal, with the Rebecca story..it's all very intriguing. Court: Things are coming to a head, and I think (Thank God!) we are about to know everything...and isn't that a heady thought.

SHel: I very much enjoyed this novella and I'm looking forward to reading the Mark's novel. Court: I like his POV every single time, because he's kind of a crazy dude. I like this because it is different from reality, and we all wish that he would live in some semblance of it...so we want to understand him when he doens't even come close. Can't wait for more!

I am really loving these novellas with Mark Compton. Not only because I’m getting a chance to read his POV, but also finding out what he is going through after finding out what happened to Rebecca. First off, if you haven’t read the Inside Out Series yet, just skip this review and immediately start reading the series from the beginning. =) Otherwise, you will be miss out on what is going on with Master Compton.

In My Control, Lisa Renee Jones gives us not only Mark’s POV, but she also gives us Crystal’s POV. Crystal is witnessing firsthand a man who usually has things under control, but now is starting to fall apart and crumble. He’s losing himself and all he wants is the truth and revenge. He needs someone like Crystal to help him get through it all. She’s wanting Mark to focus on his mother, but he’s trying to resolve his current situation with Rebecca. He won’t budge at all. Things are going to happen in this short novella that are going to make Crystal see Mark as his real self and she’s not someone he can easily make submissive.

All in all, this short novella was a very enjoyable, quick read. It has it’s heated and dramatic scenes. (which is something Lisa does every well with in stories) Lisa also leaves you wanting more, which has me counting down to November to find out what is going to happen next with Mark and Crystal.

I give this book 4.5 full moons and recommend it to contemporary erotic romance readers out there.

I highly recommend reading this series in order. It would be more beneficial to readers if they do.

I received a complimentary copy of the book from InkSlinger PR for the blog tour in exchange for an honest review.

Where chaos happened in Master’s Undone, here, Mark takes back His Control. Despite the hardships he is in, you see him slowly decide what he wants to do as far as Crystal goes. She has always been there, but there’s always something that holds him back. Honestly, I think it’s because of Rebecca. Now that he knows where Rebecca is, he can focus on who is in front of him. Crystal.

I love reading Marks POV. It gives me a clear view of what going on in his head. Up until now, he has been a big enigma to me. I’ve always had hunches of why he does and say things but in the very few pages of this novella is where I truly began to understand him. His relationship with Crystal is pushing through…finally. But I’m curious about how long this will last. I love hearing her voice too. Crystal is not quite a sub kind of girl. In fact, she’s a control freak herself. I have to say, she’s a strong gal hanging on the way she has. She truly is more than just a friend before Mark even realizes it. She’s been there even when he’s not looking. I think that’s what I like about her. She has not asked for anything in return.

Nothing is quite solid yet when it comes to their relationship, but I Belong To You promises a full disclosure of their story. I’m hoping Mark and Crystal finally get their relationship on a more solid ground.

If you are not up to date with this series yet, I suggest you start from the beginning. These books are not standalone and must be read in order. I promise it will not be a disappointment.

Control……
It’s the life line for Mark’s world. Everything he does is calculated and keeps his life centered. With the details of Rebecca’s fate slowly coming to light, Mark finds his world unraveling. As details emerge of Rebecca’s fate, Mark realizes that she meant so much more to him than he ever wanted to admit. Guilt and blame shape his thoughts. Pulling him into a dark place.

While helping with Allure business, Crystal is faced with the realization that she cannot stay away from Mark. Her desire to help Mark overcome the stress he is faced with during the investigation, the feelings associated with his mother’s illness, and the effects of the investigation on Riptide will leave Crystal fighting the attraction that is so evident between the two.

Mark knows that he is the worst thing for Crystal. After all, she is the opposite of everything he has ever sought out in a lover. Showing her the need for control that he possesses has not deterred their desire for one another. Mark has even broken his own rules where she is concerned. Mark never planned to show Crystal the vulnerable sides of himself, but when he is around her the desire makes him lose control.

Mark and Crystal are quite the pair! The dynamic between the two is alluring and sexy. While Mark has a lot of demons he must face head on, his apparent lack of control around Crystal is explosive. I can’t wait to see her head strong spirit collide with Mark’s dominant side!! What’s in store for us next?

Mark Compton's life continues to spiral out of control. Rebecca's disappearance and supposed death has been hard for him. Though he's doing everything possible to overcome the obstacles popping up left and right, maintaining a semblance of order has been difficult.

To top it all off, Crystal's presence in his life has sent everything into a tailspin. Mark keeps telling himself that he'll keep her at arm's length. That he won't continue to involve her in the chaos he calls life. Yet he knows that way of thinking is just wishful thinking.

Whether he wants to admit it or not, Crystal is an avid part of his life. She's everything he could want in a woman. Everything he knows he could love. That realization is hard to come by for Mark, but he's determined in making his hectic life work for him. Somehow, some way, he will come out on top. But first he must deal with the way Crystal truly makes him feel.

If you haven't caught up yet on the Inside Out series, you're going to want to. Lisa delivers another action-packed portion, this time immersing us in more of Mark's story. Losing Rebecca has been difficult for him. Though he's done his best to overcome adversity, it still doesn't lessen the possibility that Rebecca is no more. I can't wait to read more of Mark's side of things soon enough.

Title: MY CONTROL
Series: Inside Out, #4.1
Category /Genre: Erotica, Romance
Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content
Grammar/editing: A – near perfect
Received from: Simon & Schuster (in exchange for an honest review)

This is the 13th book in the Inside Out series. It is a novella (short) from Mark’s point of view. They do need to be read in order.

If you have not read the previous books – do not read this review! I would hate to spoil anything before you get here…

Still with me? Okay .

Mark is a Dominant. He is a Master. He is always in control… of his life, his businesses, and his relationships. Right now all of his control has been taken from him and he is spiraling – fast. Can he take back the reins and show Crystal the Master that he is?

This was a quick read. I finished it in the time it took to have my nails done and eat lunch. I laughed out loud. I cringed. I held my breath. I was nodding yes in triumph and shaking my head no in fear. I’m sure my fellow patrons at the restaurant wanted to know what I was reading… or maybe they just thought I was insane.

If you are reading this review, then you must have read the previous books in this series… you know you can’t stop now! I can’t stop!! Two months until I BELONG TO YOU. I’m putting it on my calendar right now.

After reading My Hunger, I was finally able to warm to Mr. Compton so much more, and I was hoping he'd be able to lay his demons to rest. Unfortunately, the circumstances surrounding Rebecca's disappearance and death still plague him. Consumed my guilt, and hatred for those responsible, Mark's life seemed to be spiraling out of control, which was quite out of the ordinary for a man like him. The only thing that kept him grounded, other than his mother's illness, was Crystal.

I loved getting to see things from her perspective, especially the situation with Mark. I also really loved that she cared so passionately for him but didn't give in to his demands. She gave herself to him on her terms, and, once again, I felt that this was what intrigued Mark to the point that he let down his walls from time to time.

Even though this is a novella, it is filled with so much emotion and passion, and I absolutely loved the symbolic gestures that revealed more about Crystal and Mark's relationship than either was willing to admit to.

Mark finally realized the biggest mistake he made with Rebecca, or perhaps he knew it all along, and I have to wonder if he'll continue on the same destructive path with Crystal, or will he let her in completely - equally.

I'm excited for I Belong to You, with high hopes that Mr. Compton will allow himself to love again.

The investigation into Rebecca’s fate is still in full force. Mark is feeling the noose around his neck with all the issues surrounding him; he feels his control slipping. Just when it seems like a light can be seen at the end of the tunnel, a wrench is thrown and things spiral out of Mark’s control once again. His heart breaks each time a new clue comes to light and my heart broke with him. He is beginning to admit to himself that she had gotten under his skin and that stirrings of love where knocking on his once cold and hard heart.

His relationship with Crystal is still unclear. It is evident that chemistry sizzles between them, but neither wants to accept they need more from the other. Crystal can sense the downward spiral Mark is on and decides to help him, regardless of what happens, although she’s adamant about not relinquishing her own control and submitting. Their scenes are always shock full of lust and burning sex. Only they can quench the fire that burns within the other.

This novella is still full of mystery and we get so many glimpses into Mark’s psyche. He wants to get his control back, be the Master in all things, but his plans are not working out, and where Crystal is concerned, he is completely at a loss.

The rollercoaster ride continues and there is no way I want to get down, yet.

**I received this book from Gallery, Threshold, Pocket Books through NetGalley for an honest review.**

I feel like every time we get a glimpse of Mark it’s never enough. With My Control we have the dark Mark. He showed himself as the true Master throughout this book with the way he handled everything that was happening with him. I seriously admire Crystal for sticking with him the way she is.

Of course I was left wanting more though. After I finished I immediately wanted to know what was up with Crystal, will she change her mind. What’s going on with Ryan?

LRJ did another awesome job with this novella and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Once again Lisa writes another amazing book. Left my heart broken trying to find out if Rebecca is still alive or not. Crystal is such a sweet girl who is trying her best not to fall for Mark the sexual controller. Loved that she stands up for herself and doesn't let him get his way. Looking forward to see what happens next in there relationship. Mark is torn apart from not knowing what happened to Rebecca. He ended up becoming her Master but she was truly in love with him and wished that he felt the same way about her.He is driven with guilt of never telling her he truly loved her since there relationship was not ordinary. As I read you could feel the disappointment in not protecting Rebecca, anger, guilt, hatred and he is looking for revenge from any angle. He has timed out from being the master but is trying to get Crystal to turn to his kinky ways. Felt the sexual tension between them, a touch sends tremors through out there body. They are meant for each other but both try to put a barrier between them. When Lisa describe the feelings they got when they saw each other and just a slight touch sent feelings that neither felt could be possible. You won't want to miss this book.

“My Control” is one of the most powerful novella’s that I have read. Ms. Jones writing of the turmoil that Mark is going through was spot on. I was able to feel his emotions throughout the book as he was going through them. Dismay, betrayal, love and hate … all wonderfully written and showing us a side of Mark that we never thought we would see.

His salvation is Crystal. She makes him feel things that he thought he had locked away. She’s breaking down walls and he has to struggle to get them back up again. But, Crystal is fighting her own demons and Mark sees it in her eyes whenever he tries to dominate her.

The final two books in the Inside Out Series should prove to be extremely interesting. Bringing the full story of Rebecca, Chris, Sarah, Mark and now Crystal, full circle. I guess we will find out if Crystal has what it takes to bring Mark to his knees instead of the other way around. She’s a strong, confident woman with secrets of her own that may or may not be the final downfall of Mark.

"Because, sometimes what someone is going through speaks to you on a level you can't ignore. And because of that, people who're completely wrong for each other are completely right in a certain moment in time. Like us right now."

My Control is an amazing 6-star addition to my favorite Inside Out series! It is a sizzling, suspenseful and emotional novella told in Mark and Crystal's POV. Mark's world is falling apart - Rebecca's body is nowhere to be found, his mother's cancer condition is bleak, business at Allure gallery is in trouble and Ava is accusing him of Rebecca's murder. Everything is spinning out of his control, and Mark is lost. But in this hell of a s*** storm, an unlikely relationship with Crystal is developing; one he shouldn't be interested in yet he can't keep away.

"I need this woman here, now, and with the kind of abandon I rarely allow myself. No amount of booze will stop how deep the burn runs. How intense the rush of desire.

This moment. This woman. It's what I need. She is what I need."

Crystal is not Mark's type of submissive woman and neither is Mark her choice of poison. She knows he'll hurt her but on the other hand, she sees something deeper within him...

"Underneath that hardness, though, I've briefly seen a tender, sensitive man who has a sense of humor and a deep love for his family, his mother in particular."

There's an undeniable attraction and fiery passion between Mark and Crystal but is there something more? Without all the BDSM games and Mark's 'Master' walls of defense down, it's hard not to fall in love with the beautiful broken man within "...who doesn't even know he is broken."

I personally am rooting for Rebecca's return (which is unlikely, but I'm still hopeful!) however Crystal's strength for Mark is really admirable and I'm cheering her on too! In spite of the current circumstances, she is willing to be vulnerable to try and reach out to Mark. She wears her heart on her sleeve but that doesn't mean she's a pushover either. She's quite the bird's eye chili and isn't afraid to show her feisty side!

""My father calls me 'Trouble'. My mother, 'Sunshine'," I say. My skills honed by my two arrogant brothers and my father, the kind of arrogance. "I've always liked the name Rebecca though, if you'd like to call me that?" It's out before I can stop it and I don't even know where it came from."

There is one particular journal entry from Rebecca that is really sad and made me ugly cry. To me, these journal entries are like little puzzle pieces that complete the entire Inside Out series providing it with so much more depth and insight hence I strongly recommend reading all the companion novellas according to the suggested reading order:

- If I Were You
- Being Me
- Revealing Us
- His Secrets
- Rebecca's Lost Journals
- The Master Undone
- My Hunger
- No in Between
- My Control
- I Belong to You
- All of Me

Speaking of which, I can't wait for I Belong to You which is a full novel told in Mark and Crystal's POV! If you're new to this series, I can't recommend it enough! It's never too late to start and I'm excited for all new fans to read If I Were You (Book #1) because I'm certain you'll be hooked! ;)

Mark's POV continues, you see him unraveling from the first book "The Master Undone", through "My Hunger" and now "My Control". In this last book, guilt is eating him alive. He is drinking more and apathetic to everything except Crystal. He loses all control with her and just wants to be in her embrace. He hates/ loves this feeling that is trying to get out. Really, who is this man, what happened to the real Mark? It is heartbreaking to see him slide into this void, until he receives some information that sparks revenge in his soul. Eva has escaped and someone had to have helped her. He will now find them both and get revenge for Rebecca. The Mark Compton series is excellent.
BUY! BUY! BUY!

Another awesomely engaging, smexy hot book from Lisa Renee Jones.
My favorite hottie, Mark Compton is back and as alpha as ever!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this series, even book after book, it never gets old, never fades away from what made it so freakin awesome in the first place.
I dont' wanna rewrite the synopsis or tell you what goes on...suffice it to say, that if you've read the rest of the series, you know what you're in for.
And if you HAVE NOT read the rest of the series, there is NO better time to START!

Arc provided by Gallery, Pocket Star via Netgalley for an honest review .

Wow, just loved Marks POV, I was always a little drawn to Mark, but getting to read more about the complex Mark not just the controlling, Master Dominant jerk that he can be has me wanting more from his POV .

We already know that Rebecca's death has Mark all broken up, because he finally admits to himself that he loved her, but know he is trying to deal with the reality that she came back for him and was killed because f his involvement with another women while she was gone! Too add to it Mark's mom is ill and her assistant Crystal who has been helping with both Allure and Riptide has become a necessity to him, but she is the furthest from being a submissive that she can be , but it does not seem to matter to him, his body wants her and his mind does no seem to care if he can not dominate her the way he normally would .

Lots of info packed into a short Novella , absolute must read!

I just finished reading My Control novella and it was awesome. I would definitely recommend reading the entire Inside Out series! This is written in Mark and Crystal's point of view. Mark is going through a difficult time dealing with his sick mother and disappearance of Rebecca and is losing control, when Mark never loses control. Crystal is very different from the women he has been with and does not like to be controlled, and yet he can't seem to stay away from her. Even though this novella is short it has A LOT of detailed information in it. Lisa Renee Jones is definitely talented keeping me engaged while reading the entire time and can't wait for her next book. A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

This very short novella has Mark Compton struggling to regain his dominance,
His Master.
Problem is he is filled with guilt over Rebecca's death.
He is also struggling with the attraction he feels for Crystal Smith.

Although Mark wants to be with Crystal he wants to be with her his way only
his way destroyed Rebecca.
The harder Mark tries to push Crystal away the closer they become.

Oh Mark, you need to get your master back.
Let's not forget something happened 10 years ago to Mark something that triggered
his master and I can't wait to find out what that was.

Was he bullied, was he raped, was he abandoned by someone he
loved, I hope the answers will be in the next book I Belong to You.
That title has me asking…Does Crystal belong to Mark or is it Mark
who belongs to Crystal?
I have loved this series and can’t wait to see it broadcast on cable tv!

Have I mentioned how much I love this series. Every installment just gives you another piece of the puzzle to these in depth characters that Lisa Renee Jones has created.

My Control takes a deeper look into all things Mark Compton and explores the unfamiliar territory the he keeps finding himself in with Crystal. So different from everything he has known, will Crystal be the one to bring the Master to his knees?

With things heating up with Ava's arrest, all of Mark's control is being tested. He is determined to punish those who hurt Rebecca at any cost. As always, we can't visit the gallery without having a little of Chris and Sara.

This novella leaves you wanting more, as with every one of Lisa's books in the series. Yet another quick, enjoyable read that will have you turning the pages to see what's around the corner. Can't wait to see what's next in I Belong To You coming this November.

I am tired of not getting anywhere with Rebecca's murder. I don't get why the author is toying with us about the possibility of her being alive, only to come a few lines later and tell us that she isn't. It has been made very clear that she is dead many times in the previous books, but somehow the thought of finding Rebecca alive seems to keep popping up in the thoughts of a character.

I want the full length novel for Mark and Crystal and not only 49 pages that leads me to nowhere. When I started this novella I thought that their relationship would move forward and they would come closer. To my disappointment, that didn't happen and things aren't going to be easy on them.

I am glad their story will be next because I can't take more of this teasing and I am tired of not seeing any of the stories in this book progressing.

LRJ never disappoints! She continues to take us on an emotional journey into not only what happened to Rebecca but also into the inner thoughts and demons that Mark is still trying to come to terms with. The difference is, Mark has met his match in Crystal. Although this is told in Mark’s POV, we finally get a look inside Crystal’s head.

The sparks are flying between Mark and Crystal. They can certainly push each other’s buttons! She sees right through Mark’s tough exterior and refuses to watch him self destruct. Mark is struggling to reclaim the Master he knows he is but struggles with his feelings toward Crystal and the control he lets her have. I can’t wait for Crystal and Mark to explore their relationship in I Belong To You. The one woman who is shaking his control just might be the one person who will help him get it back!

My Control by Lisa Renee Jones settled some of the curiosity I had about Mark. It was nice to see a story that showed us some of his inner demons and how his attraction for Crystal is totally messing with his mind. I have to say that this book will actually make you feel a little bit sorry for him.
I find myself having such a great time reading this series. It seems that there is never a dull moment with the plotline and the characters start to feel like old friends. I cannot wait for the next book to come out so that we can read some more of Mark’s story.
I give this book 4 stars. I keep going back and forth in my mind on if Rebecca is dead or if there is going to be a plot twist that finds her alive. That is what is so great about this series. You never know what is going to pop out there.

3.5 stars! Love this series. This novella is right after “No In Between” and must be read in order. The author gives us Mark’s viewpoint which was absent while reading Chris and Sara’s story. This whole series is one of my favorites and I highly recommend starting this series if you haven’t read them yet…smart, sexy, adult and very twisty. Lisa Renee Jones draws you into these characters and you can’t wait to see what happens next.

I loved seeing this side of Mark and I absolutely loved seeing Crystal’s viewpoint. He may have just met his match. This is a very short story and is a great introduction to the upcoming “I Belong to You.” Finally, I do not recommend reading this as a standalone but instead should be read as part of this fantastic series. Can't wait for more of Mark's POV!

Lisa Renee Jones is one of my favorite authors and MY CONTROL proves my point, yet again, that Lisa has amazing talent! She sucks you into this world of mystery and chaos and you can't help but be compelled by it. You can't help but want more of this uniquely written storyline.

MY CONTROL is my favorite thus far because we are finally able to get insideo Crystal's head. I loved her POV and I think it provided readers with more information into the lives of these characters. If you've read any of the INSIDE OUT series then you will definitely love MY CONTROL. Mark has become one my all-time favorite characters!! He has stolen my heart with his domineering attitude and I can't help to find out more about him!!
