I really, really liked "Him" but "Us" didn't quite live up to its predecessor.

I appreciated that the authors showed a relationship with real struggles that didn't revolve around cheating. That was a nice change of pace. But, at the same time, I didn't really see any growth between the characters.

I wish that Jamie & Wes had decided to work on their relationship, and that we had seen the difficulty and focus that takes, rather than the authors resorting to the kind of wonky relationship fix (?) they ended up choosing instead.

Also, just as a rule, my eyes tend to roll out of my head when struggling couples opt for marriage before really putting time and energy into making sure their relationship is healthy. I wish that had been fleshed out.

All of this being said, the book was well written and the characters were both so likeable.

I guess, overall, this felt like the authors got a little lazy.

I absolutely am in love with Sarina Bowen. This book was my first Elle Kennedy but have added three of her books to my kindle library. I laughed and I cried. Sarina has amazing skills! All of her books draw you in and make you fall in love with the characters. I can't wait to be in attendance at Wes and Jamie's wedding. I can't wait for Blake's book and I'm really hoping it involves Jamie's sister.

I liked this even better than the first book. Lots more feels in this one. The seriously needed to open their traps and talk to each other though. I wanted to knock their heads together more than a few times. And Blakey! Yep, I heart him real hard. Gotta read his book now.

About halfway through the book I was bawling. This book is beautiful and I am completely in love with all of the characters. All. Of. Them!

Wes and Jamie are such a gorgeous couple and this is such a perfect and fitting “end” to their story. There is so much emotion going on in this book. I can’t even. I’m sad to see them go but glad they will be featuring in the next novel.

Such a sweet story even with all of the struggles both men faced. I think Jamie is such a sweet man who just got overwhelmed with his situation, and Wes was there for him even when he didn't feel like he wanted him to be. I can't wait to read the wedding and see what happens with Blake in the future. Highly recommend this book and look forward to the story continuing.

Very well-written story...love Wes and Jamie and how they deal with life! Wes is hot, hot, hot! But, I've already got my man, so why be piggish? Married him, too! Thank you to the authors for enlightening the world to all the trials and tribulations of being gay and for all our loving straight families and friends out there! Highly recommend the books Him and Us...5 STARS!

I loved this book. I loved everything about it. So excited to see that this story will continue with other characters from this book. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us next and so happy that we we get to see more of Wes and Jamie through these new stories!

I really enjoyed reading this story about Wes & Jamie. Their love and chemistry is undeniable. One second I would be laughing at Blake's antics, the next touched by the realness of Wes & Jamie's connection. I was even in tears at one point. Can't wait for the wedding & for more on Blake & Jess. I had a feeling something had to have happened when she was taking care of Jamie. Glad we will soon find out!

Love, Love, Love this couple. I hope to hear more about them in other books. Not sure why they are in a different series when it is part of the Good Boy book in a different series. I would recommend reading this series first then read Good Boy.

I'm probably biased because of how much Ioved Him, but I loved this one, too. It is a nice breakaway from the fairytale vibe of this genre and shows that these relationships aren't all sunshine and rainbows. I may or may not have cried at one point! This review isn't exactly in-depth, but I wanted to add it to give props to the authors and the series.

so...first, I loved Him. One of my favorite books of all time. I've been looking forward to reading US ever since I heard it was coming out. I didn't love it. Mainly the secondary character Blake was way too much for me. The constant butting in, coming over uninvited, nosing his way into Wes and Jaime's business...in the guise of "friendship" but it was so totally annoying. So so so so so so annoying it pretty much ruined the first part of the book for me. Then all their drama. just loads and loads of unnecessary drama. Not communicating, not telling each other how they feel...internally beating themselves up for NOT talking and telling each other how they feel but still, neither of them would talk. The worst kind of romance for me. I mean this book was depressing, I'm so disappointed. To be fair - I'm not trying to knock the authors at all, they're very talented and I loved HIM, I love these authors writing ability, and obviously there were tons of people who 5 starred it, but it just wasn't for me. Those kinds of overbearing characters are like nails on a chalkboard to me. I would still recommend it to those who loved HIM, because obviously we all have different tastes, but this one wasn't for me.

How I love these two wonderful authors writing together. Elle Kennedy and Sarina Bowen just do not disappoint. With Us we get the 'after the HEA' we were able to witness in Him with Jamie and Wes and see firsthand how they are faring now that they are together and living in Toronto.

There is plenty of love, a whole lotta sex and more than enough angst. Wading through unknown waters for both Jamie and Wes takes a toll on their relationship. Trying to keep their love private and away from prying eyes becomes more and more difficult as one of Wes's teammates in now a neighbor! OMGoodness, Blake Riley is like a bull in a china shop but as time goes on actually becomes more than just the guy who barges in without a moment's notice. And I laughed hard during some of the scenes with him. At many points in the book, he truly stole the show.

I think what I adored most is that just as much as others around Jamie and Wes might not know how to act with them or think they should act a certain way with a gay couple, their inner thoughts are basically the same and we are right there treading water with them! There are some truly tender and beautiful moments among all the chaos and the unexpected medical emergency that befalls one of our guys. But in the end it's the love, the passionate, all-consuming and simply perfectly imperfect love between Jamie and Wes that always finds it's way to the forefront. As long as these two have that, they can face anything that comes their way.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself while reading Us and look forward to more from this crew of characters. Well-written, funny and touching, this one has it all.

A solid 5 stars!!

I loved reading Him, and it was wonderful to visit Wes and Jaimie again. I tried to read slowly so that it would last longer. For me this was about Jaimie adapting to a new job, country and finding his place in the world and then I realised it was also about Wes finding his family.
A wonderful book that I will reread (after I reread Him).

Each of their individual challenges come out in this book and in the end they have their HEA! Loves how the story progresses and excels; how their individual POVs create the foundation of their relationship and form a stronger bond.

Great followup for "Him". I loved the details that weren't addressed it the first book, all my questions though few were answered. Now I have to wait for the wedding and the story of Jess and Blake. So excited to read the next installment.

I love the chemistry between the two main characters. And I was able to relate with some of the issues they were facing so the story line was believable. I found some of the other characters, such as some of their friends and the younger sister, to be a bit annoying. But all in all it was a good book.

I found Him by accident (no clue how that skipped being on my radar!). I was so very pleasantly surprised by that book. But, Us totally blew me away. Together they are absolutely fabulous. I am a thousand times glad I didn't miss out on Jamie and Wes!!!

If you love these characters this book is brilliant!
This book is about growing up in the relationship, communicating and helping each other and accepting help.
This book made me smile like a loon all through-out, and I thought it was a very realistic take on the relationship especially in regrads to facing some tough choices (staying in the closet for Ryan's career), but still being in it together, not only sexually but also emotionally.
My god this just did it for me! And I cannot wait for the next one...

Terrific continuation with character conflicts that are realistic. Many couples experience the same emotions and issues - and I felt the author really addresses them in a creative way. Wonderful story, developed characters, enough silliness to make this a super fun read.

This book is a continuation of Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy's book HIM. I would have been very worried and disappointed if Sarina and Elle had decided not to tell how the story of how the first year in Toronto worked out for Jamie and Wes.

I loved how Jamie’s and Wes’s story continues and how the conflict between the two are resolved.
Real problems that make you relate to the characters even more. Their love story is one of a kind and is very sweet.

I will be honest that I loved HIM a bit more than this one. US is still a great story.

And the best thing about this book is BLAKE. I love him and would love to read a book about him.

The first book was good. But this one was spellbinding...
You just had to always read one more page, and the drama and emotional side made it impossible to put the book down.
And you just can't help but love Jamie and Ryan.

Really awesome story and writing. The love, pain and tenderness between Jaime and Wes feel real and honest. The personalities of the hockey players and their antics is so spot on. These guys are real and so much like the guys I've grown up around. Hockey players are a breed apart. The character of Blake is one of my favorites. His big awkward heart and seeming obliviousness to what is going on around him is just plain lovable. Great book and series. Be sure to read HIM also

Spoilers in this review!!

I read "Him" back in 2015 when it was released and I LOVED IT!! I bought this when it came out but just hadn't gotten around to reading it. I decided had several freebies from over the months on my Kindle app and several books that I bought. I wanted to get my TBR down and this happened to be the one that I randomly chose. But I wanted to read "Him" again so everything could be fresh on my mind. Here's the thing: You probably could only read "Him" and call it a standalone. But you REALLY need to read "Us." So this book picks up several months after the previous book left off. Things are going well for Wes and Jamie. They have a great romance, they're living together, and their jobs are going pretty well. But they've kind of gotten out of their honeymoon phase from beginning to date. Wes can't come out and tell the world that Jamie is his boyfriend because of potential consequences from the media, etc. It really does take a toll on their relationship because they have to be secretive ALL THE TIME. They can't go see a movie as a couple. They can't go on a date to a restaurant as a couple. It really upsets them. They're not mad at each other. They're just scared of how this could impact Wes' career since it's just starting to take off. One thing I absolutely love about this book is that Wes and Jamie are together THIS ENTIRE BOOK. There isn't a breakup. They are able to make it and solve unexpected problems. In this book, Jamie gets sick and it's bad. He has to go to the hospital several times. Their relationship is really strained but the second time he has to go to the hospital and it gets so bad to where he collapses at work and is in a coma, Wes drops everything and GOES TO HIM LIKE A LOVED ONE SHOULD ALWAYS DO. At the hospital, he kisses Jamie on the lips while he is still in a coma and then their relationship is exposed to the world. This creates more problems. Jamie feels like Wes is taking care of him all the time and doesn't want to be a burden. He also gets upset when Wes wants to pay his hospital bills. I understand that Jamie wants to be independent but I also completely understand how much this hurts Wes. As we found out in the previous book, Wes has loved Jamie for several years while Jamie just began having feelings about a year ago. So, in my opinion, Wes seems to care more deeply for Jamie. Not that Jamie doesn't care for him as much. It's just that Wes has felt that love for Jamie for a longer time. With Jamie trying to recover and Wes still having to go on the road to play hockey, Jamie ends up flying home to California to see his family and they are able to care for him. This hurts Wes deeply as he wants to be the one to care for Jamie but he understands that he can't because of his hockey contract. As Wes goes on a high-profile interview to talk about his career and relationship with Jamie, he reveals that he would marry Jamie if he could. He loves him that much. Back in California, Jamie reluctantly sees the interview on TV after being persuaded by his mom. Also, his mom is one of the best moms/parents I've ever read. Her and the Weasley parents from Harry Potter are the best parents I've ever read. Wes calls her "Mom" and honestly it's the cutest thing! When Jamie watches the interview, he is overcome with emotion and flies to see Wes at his current game (I want to remember where this is but honestly I don't know what city it was because there was too much emotion!!!!!). After the hockey game, Jamie surprises Wes in his hotel room and proposes and it's the best. It's filled with who they are as individuals and as a couple. I understand that so many romance books have a proposal in the last chapter or the epilogue but this was the best. I know that since this was a duology that there was more time to discover the relationship but it just seems that in so many romance books today, that it's all about the couples getting to know each other and they aren't really together until the end of the book. They usually are boyfriend-girlfriend, etc. at the end or they're engaged. But I'm so happy that this book was about their relationship and it was also SO REALISTIC!! It wasn't happy all the time but they communicated and were able to work things out without having over-the-top drama. I'm utterly and completely devastated that this duology is over and don't know how I will go on after this.

Also, regarding Blake and his book. So like I said before, I bought this book when it had come out but hadn't read it until just a few days ago. Blake's book came out at the end of January and I had already bought it even though I hadn't EVEN READ THIS BOOK YET WHICH HAPPENS BEFORE BLAKE'S BOOK!!!! That is how much impact "Him" had on me. All I knew is that Blake's book was written by both authors and that Wes and Jamie would be in it. That's enough for me and I will 100% buy any book these authors write together. Also if they write something separately i will buy it, providing that it's M/M because I read Ms. Kennedy's "The Deal" and "The Mistake" and enjoyed them but didn't love them like these books. Also, I watched a few hockey games and I have never watched hockey before....so that is another example of how much these books have impacted me. Regarding Blake, I loathed him at first because he interfered with my Wes-Jamie time but I quickly adored him and how much he cares for these two guys!!!!

I heard a few months ago that we may be getting another M/M book in this world but it may center around Killfeather from the last book????? That would be THE BEST. Anxiously awaiting that news but I'm going to dive straight into Blake's book at work next week!!!!

This book. This book is beautiful and hilarious and emotionally charged. Jaime and Wes are characters that I wish I lived around the corner from.
Him continues a little after where Us left off and includes new amazing secondary characters. Jaime and Wes have some struggles but come through stronger for them.
I can't recommend Him and Us enough - go read this book!!
