The title is bit of an overstatement, you'll have to acquire a few other things. But the internet is such a great resource now with this as a starting point you really can salvage a lot of otherwise throwaway/too expensive to fix stuff. Many of these fixes are simple to do.

This book is written to explain how things work, not to impress the reader with the writers knowledge. Very helpful information. As Michael writes, "no one book can really tell how to fix all electronic devices." But this is one that will certainly get you started on a wide variety of devices and concepts.

This is a great book for the electronic DIYer. It explains the test equipment needed and how to use it. Very impressed with the information contained on test equipment and how to troublshoot the electronics that you use every day.

Conveniently leaves out how to diagnose problems with oscillating motor personal entertainment devices, but it does just about everything else. This is a good beginning to getting something more expensive and comprehensive.

This is a great reference and perfect supplement to my schooling. I enjoy the amount of time this book has saved me and wish I had more like it in other subjects. Very clear, concise, with good pictures and data analysis.

This book is written for the layperson, but it also assumes the reader is reasonably intelligent. I originally checked this book out of the local library, but found it so helpful that I bought my own copy. I'm getting ready to try my hand at fixing some things, so I haven't put the advice to use yet. But so far it's an enjoyable read and confidence boosting. There's a good bit of humor in it, too.
