Everything You Need to Know to Brew Great Beer Every Time

John Palmer's book is a quintessential addition to any brewer's library. It can guide a new brewer through the steps while giving a lot of useful information to more advances brewers.

My only criticism is that some times Palmer can go a little deep into the technical details (formulas, chemistry, etc) earlier in the book than I would have liked when I was just getting started. I feel like a higher level over view up front with more of the details to follow could have helped me when i was just getting started.

Even with that said I'm not sure I've found a better book on the over all "how to" of brewing so I give it 5-stars.

I've read dozens of brewing books including the original homebrewing books. This book however you MUST buy if you are interested at all in homebrewing and brewing in general. It is possibly the best well written , well rounded brewing book you can find. It covers everything and is in depth as well as covering basics . again, I can't stress enough. This is the brewing book to buy !

Great resource for homebrewing. This is a must have for Homebrewers. I read through the book, and continually refer back to various sections when expanding my knowledge of the various sub topics in homebrewing. I really enjoyed the brew-in-a-bag section. The extreme detail the author included made it less intimidating for me to make the jump to all-grain brewing. I bought my copy and had the author sign it at Minneapolis HomebrewCon, and gave my previous edition to an aspiring homebrewer and friend.
