Alfred's Basic Adult Piano Course - Lesson Book - Level One

Practice makes perfect! Easy to play, easy to practice and easy to memorize. This book has clear instruction and description for the beginning players. It really helps me go from the bottom and the high smoothly because I have been practicing 3 times/ week and now I can read and play piano through half of the book without hesitation. However, it does need a little help from the instructor, if you are a freshly new piano player or you can look up youtube for more help. Overall, this book did not turn me down.

This is really not the best version available.

For not much more, I would get the All-in-One version (additional 2 bucks) or the All-in-One with CD (additional 4 bucks). Everything in this book, plus additional theory/technique, plus the plastic comb binding allows it to lie flat.

For Level 1 only, there is also a DVD version (only 6 bucks more).

I also purchased the Music Theory & Level Two from this series. This is excellent quality, very helpful, and top-notch! So glad to have these in my piano learning library! HIGHLY recommend this excellent book.

some 20 years ago.

As an adult studying with my teacher , who also teaches classical
piano at Loyola School of music New Orleans, I must say this book
is a finely constructed piece of educational material.

It starts from the absolute basics and graduates the learner
to a level where you are playing tunes.

I'am noticing that navigation through this work can be done
smoothly and has helped me realize some nice results.

I can highly recommend this work without hesitation.

This book is fantastic for teaching yourself piano, especially if you have a little musical knowledge (from lessons as a child or from playing another instrument). This book is well structured and very easy to work through.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone that wants to learn to play the piano. It takes you thru each signature, teaches chords and is my main book, especially when I am trying to practice the harder ones, I go back to this one to warm up and refresh!
