Loved it, read almost nonstop for two days. Brilliant plot and characters, honestly beyond me how anyone could imagine this. A superb mix of thriller meets paranormal. Look forward to reading more in this series and anything by AD Startling!

Action packed! Extremely well written. Storyline keeps you going so it's hard to put it down. Love that this author mixes in real historical places, events, science and technology along with the fiction.

Astonishingly boring for an action fest. I should have really liked this book—interesting concept, intriguing storyline and decent writing. Unfortunately, the book just became boring, or as boring as an action bonanza packed to the gills with sword fights, car chases, and rocket launchers galore can be. At the end of the day Lucas Soul is just too perfect; he’s heroic, selfless, brilliant, a tech whiz, the most amazing samurai-daisho wielding-bullet-dodging fighter, etc, etc. I lost interest in his journey because, frankly, he was too perfect to need something as mundane as character growth, and so I mostly stuck around for the science and resolution, both of which eventually channeled that blockbuster, OTT vibe from the rest of the book.
Hunted by the Dragon Duke (Dragon's Council Book 1) :: HUNTED (Edgars Family Novels Book 2) :: Addiction (The Hunted Series Book 2) :: Hunted (Hostage Rescue Team Series Book 3) :: The Hunted One (End of Days Series Book 1)

great read. Typically not my genre of story but you had me at katana:)
I wish the remaining free books in this series offered by the author were in mobi format instead of itunes which are not compatible with my fire kindle

Excellent. A new take on immortals, great characters, and plausible science. The author's science background helped to craft a very readable novel. It's not perfect -- a few too many adverbs attached to dialog -- but no novel is. This is the author's first book, which is just amazing. I will be putting her on my must read list.

i liked the story but the part about blades blocking bullets was a bit much. the old saying about never bringing a knife to a gun fight would have made more realistic sense. other than that, i really liked book.

Liked this, a lot. Characters were well fleshed out, the plot never dragged and kept me interested. Once again, took most of a night to finish which is what usually happens when I'm enjoying a read. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

This is one of those books I have trouble putting down. Great characters, great ideas, great action! Thorne, Reid and Anna are people you are so different from you but you have no problem relating to them? I look forward to more from AD Starrling!

This book grabbed me with the sample. I've always been a fan of Highlander and the concept of only having so many lives was intriguing. However, when you set up a weakness for your main character (the only weakness, as far as I can see), and even name the series after this character's supposed weakness and then blast it away at less than half way through the novel, you lose a star. But only one star . . . despite the fact that the hero of this book is too perfect, too strong, too heroic and in every way too too much, the writing was quite good, there were no glaring inadequacies in editing, and I had a hard time putting it down. I do like heroes that actually have real Achilles's heels, and this one did not even have anything remotely close to one. In addition, his very human partner seems to survive things that are simply not survivable, and yes, this was explained somewhat in the end, but it was just another of those really hard to believe aspects of this novel. The premise has some serious holes in it, as most fantasy does if looked at too closely, but over all it was a fun read.

I loved the story line, present day immortals. A lot of action and felt the characters had depth. The author seems to have done her home work, from fighting technics to science. I am definitely reading on to the next book!
