This is fast becoming one of my favourite series of detective books. I just love the characters in this book.
So I need to say a super big thank you to Netgalley, the author and Publishers for allowing me an ARC of this book.

I recently read the first two books in this series, and here we are at book 3, and I have to say the books get better each time. I didn't think it would be possible.
The story really drags you in, and I find myself rooting for the characters all the way through.
DI Nikki Galena and DS Joseph Easter just make the best partners ever. I love the way they interact, have banter but are a shoulder for each other when it's needed.
Another of the characters I really enjoy reading about is Cat. I loved her.

I know its said too often about books, but by god this really is one hell of a page turner. As soon as you start it, it's obvious that nothing else is getting done. Read, read and read. Because all the way through you need to know what is going to happen next, then you are hit with another twist, which then stops you from putting the book down.

If I could have one complaint about this book then it would have to be that it wasn't long enough, but in fairness I don't think 1000 pages would have been long enough for me.
I love it when reading a book that you manage to connect with the characters, and each individual one is different in their own right.

So enough of me waffling on, As I said this is the 3rd book in the series, and personally I would say you need to read them in order to be able to get a good feel for the characters, and a back history of their lives.

This book sends the team on one hell of a ride, their toughest case yet. Someone is out to harm them all in one way or another, the only problem is we don't know why. We get an idea of who they think it could be from early on, but the thing is have the team got it right, or are they chasing the wrong leads.

A first class page turner and a must read for anyone who likes to follow a brilliant series of detective thrillers.

I am so ready now for the next one, and I'm lucky enough to have it all ready on my kindle awaiting me starting it.

I proudly admit to being an addict. Whenever I see one of Joy Ellis's police procedurals I am compelled to immediately start reading. Her stories thrill not only because the crimes are complex, but also because the cases intimately affect the members of DI Nikki Galena's team. Their job is dangerous. This is particularly the case in Hunted on the Fens - in my opinion her best novel yet.

Someone is visciously targeting Galena, Easter and the rest of the team. The attacks are violent, but cleverly conceived and professionally enacted, intended to inflict the maximum amount of fear. I was on tenterhooks as I read, desperate for Galena and Easter to find any indication of who might be behind the attacks. Over the course of Ellis's novels, I've grown attached to her characters. Each and every one are living, breathing individuals, fully developed and utterly believable. From Davis, whose wife has Alzheimer's, to Cat whose gift is blending with just about any crowd - all are real. That is part of what makes Joy Ellis's novels so incredible. It isn't simply the two leads, DI Nikki Galena and DS Joseph Easter, who are compelling. It is the entire crew.

The brilliance and compelling nature of Ellis's police procedurals place her amongst esteemed company. She is truly one of the best up and coming mystery authors. Not only do I highly recommend Hunted on the Fens, I recommend reading the entire series. I can't wait to see what comes next.

5/5

I received a copy of Hunted on the Fens from the publisher and netgalley.com in exchange for an honest review.

A totally compelling read. From start to finish it was filled with suspense, intrigue, mystery and the sort of writing that keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what comes next.

Although this is the third in the series, it's the first book I've read in the DI Nikki Galena series. I intend to get the first two, just because I enjoyed it so much, however this can easily be read as a standalone.

The characters are great, very well developed and easy for readers to connect with. I was invested in their stories and what happened to them and was on tenterhooks during the parts where they were in danger.

The plot and pacing were well balanced. Now that I know the ending, I can look back and see subtle hints through the book, but it was so well done that I didn't know the ending until right at the point that the characters discovered it as well. The red herrings were cleverly placed, I spent the entire book suspicious of nearly everyone.

A page turner that will not disappoint!

*Thanks to Netgalley/the publisher for providing me with this copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.*

This book is practically a non-stop ride from beginning to end. I hated every time I had to put my Kindle down.

The characters all return, but with each book we get to know them better and they are more involved. The cases are just as intriguing. This one was extremely difficult to figure out.

I would like to say a lot more about how much I love this series, but I really want to get back to my Kindle Store and download the next book!

This series has been my introduction to Ms. Ellis and her writing. I am totally enjoying her strong characters and observing their growth and development. I like how she weaves the police work with personal challenges her characters face. As an American reader, I also enjoy the use of British terms and the opportunity to get clarification when needed. I would recommend this book - and those that precede it - to anyone who loves a good police drama. I am looking forward to reading the next in the series.

I always enjoy Joy Ellis books! This one was tough to figure out the whodunit! The characters are real, with flaws and frailties just like the rest of us. This book has Inspector Nikki Galena and her team being terrorized by an old enemy. Or is that who it really is?!? Plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. It was hard to put down!

Really enjoyed this book. It was edge of the seat suspense until the very end. Lots of events, seemingly unrelated, until the final scene This series is excellent and seems to get better with each book. I like all of the police characters, a group of seeming misfits, who care for and about each other. They form a very successful police unit

I have found the DETECTIVE INSPECTOR GALENA and DETECTIVE SARGEANT EASTER BOOKS TO BE SUSPENSE FILLED AND INTRIGUING. I AM BAFFLED, HOWEVER, BY THE FACT THAT THE CONTINUITY ERRORS GO UNNOTICED, NOT ONLY BY THE AUTHOR, BUT BY WHATEVER EDITORIAL. STAFF IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CORRECTING THESE ISSUES. AS I'VE STARTED THE NEXT BOOK, THE EASIEST TO POINT OUT ARE THE ERRORS OF RANK. THERE ARE MANY, MANY SMALLER ONES THROUGHOUT THE 1ST 3 BOOKS. VERY CONFUSING AND POORLY EDITED.

Another great book about Nikki and Joseph. The suspense and murder start right away carrying the reader into a tense manhunt for "Snipe", a deranged police hater. Who is he, where is he and why is he looking for revenge? Once again good overcomes evil.

Yet again, I like the characters and find them engaging, but the plotting is so overblown and exaggerated. There are always baroque details and large-scale conspiracies and it just feels at odds with the bucolic setting. Not sure whether I'll continue reading these books.

I always look forward to seeing how DI Galena and DS Easter solve the crimes. They deal with many people and and their evil ways. Many twists and turns and getting many surprises along the way to the big explosion at the end. It is a really big surprise.

Love this series! The characters are intriguing, three dimensional, the plots are very clever
I was a bit sad when I reached the end because I did not have another to read and continue the saga
I won't detail the plot as other reviewers already have, but this series should be on your must read list!

Ellis captured me with another of her great believers of a crime stories. The characters are wonderfully real and how she mixes two parts of a criminal investigation is magic. One of the best who done its I have read in a long time!

The characters, were great and the villain was powerful . The ending was quick and a little undeveloped. Would have liked a little more character development of the villain. Will look forward to reading more of the series to learn more about the characters.

Joy Ellis's writing is absolutely superb. I enjoy all the twists and turns of her stories. Just when I think I know the answer, she surprises me every time. There are several cases going on simultaneously to keep you enthralled. Thank you Joy for sharing your gift. I am anxiously waiting for the next book.

Original England based police novel. A bit confusing term wise (definitions end of book should be read first). Well written and edited, touch of romance. Lots of twists and turns with a never guess surprise ending.

Lots of suspects; not to mention some very likely candidates. If you manage to guess before the last few pages, you're better at this than I am--and I'm usually on top of it early on. Someone is terrorizing Di Galena and her team One has been killed, and another badly injured. Then another's bank accounts are emptied and he starts to get nasty letter from creditors. Oh, and a Dutch woman is found murdered in an apartment that's locked from the inside. What's not to keep one turning pages? Not only was this a page-turner, but it was based on a fascinating premise. Now could one person cause so much trouble and be in so many places at one time? If Ellis is basing her plot on something that really exists, it's more scary than even what Galena and her team are facing.

I very much enjoyed the book. The interaction between the characters and the twists in the story. Nikki Galeana and her team find themselves going in circles trying to find who is after them and which of the cases from the past is this person related to so they know which direction to look. Maybe you can find him in the last place you expected to look.
