I loved this book. It was full of adventure, mystery and romance. Of interest, some of the action involved was actually related to true events from history. This book held my attention from start to finish. I felt I knew the main characters. I was so impressed, I went to Kindle books and ordered the rest of the series. Lynette Bonner was a new author to me but I will be looking for any book she authors as she has proved herself to be an excellent story teller and author.

The plot and characters hooked me from the first chapter, and I kept reading to find out what would happen next in this story. From Brooke's character of an abused young lady hoping for a better way of life, to the unsavory characters of Lee Chang and Purcival Hunter, I was cheering for Brooke and Sky while cursing Lee and Purcival. It was like being in a old west theater where viewers cheered and booed the characters on stage! Brooke was tossed from an oasis to the devil's den, but God was on her side throughout her ordeals. I won't give away any more! The author's story weaving is excellent and I look forward to reading the other books in this series.

Lynnette Bonner created some sweet and very human characters that I enjoyed so much I then read the next in the series. Brooke is physically and emotionally scarred and sold as a mail-order bride. Sky, cousin to the purchaser, feels morally obligated to rescue Brooke from a disastrous arrangement, and marries her himself. With love, faith, and infinite patience, they fall in love, and make a life together. Most enjoyable.
A Christian Historical Romance Novel (Colorado Reborn Book 3) :: The Gallaghers of Morning Star Book 1 (Texas Heroes) :: A Mail Order Bride Historical Western Romance Book :: A Vampire King's Desire (Relentless BWWM Vamp Series Book 1) :: A Christian Historical Romance Novel (Colorado Reborn Book 2)

Loved this book. The good characters were warm and loving. One can not miss the portrayal of the unconditional of Jesus in the husband. The bad characters were really bad and I was relieved that they did not come out on top so to speak. I was saddened to read that the events did actually happen.

I think this just may be my favorite Christian book yet. I read a variety of books but historical romances are my favorite. So far this one is at the top. Everything flowed well, and it had a great Christian message. It pulled me in right from the start. Faith, romance, suspense- What's not to like, I would recommend this to my friends.

Brooke was a mail order bride that ended up married to the wrong groom. Sky, jumped at the chance to marry Brooke she she arrived in Idaho. Based on some of the actual history of Pierce and Pro Feno mining district, complete with Chinese folks that lived in the community. This part of a series, has a bit of religious flavor to it.

I so enjoyed this wonderful book. I loved the way Gods love was brought into the plot. The book reminded me of how much Jesus loves everyone.. How love, prayer and allowing others to witness the life you live can help others to find God and his love.
I did not want to put the book down. I will absolutely tell my friends and family about this book and encourage them to read this book. I can't wait to read more of this author's
books.

I especially liked the historical perspective; I found it really interesting. I liked the detail the author put into the descriptions of everyday life; the work and effort that went into it. Great read for lovers of clean fiction, christian fiction, historical fiction, Amish fiction or late 19th century frontier fiction.

What a great book. As with most romances you mostly know, in the end, the two main characters will come together in love. Through many unexpected twists and turns, the read was worth the sweet ending. Thank you Lynnette for this wonderful book. I'm looking forward to book 2.

I really loved this book. It was filled with real life occurrences. I liked the way she brought in Bible verses and how God was always there to care for each of them. And how He draws them to Himself, a little at a time and finally they accept Him. I really liked it that they didn't live together before marriage. Total morality! I love it.

After dabbling recently in the world of "Christian" historical romances, I was pleased to finally read one that is truly Christian in character and theme. The strong salvation message and the lack of sensual/ suggestive descriptions and actions was refreshing in a culture saturated with pornography and humanism.
The plot follows the story of an eighteen-year-old "mail order bride" arriving against her will in frontier Idaho to marry a man she has never met, their marriage, and their growing relationship, with a number of subplots scattered throughout.
I would have appreciated a stronger character arc and deeper POV, but in contrast to much of its genre, the book maintains a clean focus and a strong gospel message, which is generally what I look for in a historical romance.
I would definitely read this one again.

This book is a beautifully written story about a girl who trying to move past the pain of her past and believe she is worth being loved. Although the mail order bride approach is not necessarily unique, I felt like this was a fresh approach. I like that her husband Sky is so kind, but sometimes he seems almost a little too perfect. I enjoyed reading Sky and Brooke's journey to learn to trust one another.

This book shows that love can overcome many things. This book has a man committed to God. He is constantly connected. There is a great commitment to doing right. This book also has much adventure, mystery, and action. Liked it a lot for the variety - romance, suspense, love, commitment to God and family, historical information - as well as how forgiveness can free us from many things in life that trouble us. I recommend this to anyone who loves Christian historical romance.

I really prefer being positive to negative, so I will say that I thought the story was quite interesting. Especially the details of the trial and the circumstances surrrounding it. The love story was sweet. I thought the characters were a little bit too good, or a little bit too bad but not extremely so.

I read Christian fiction deliberately because I like reading clean romance. Unfortunately, this one was preachy even for me. I really admire authors who can skillfully weave in important principles and even Bible references in their stories. This book overloads on such references. I thought it was just too much, which is why I can't rate it more than 2 stars.

A mailorder bride, murder, and mayhem all make this a very excellent read. The combination keeps one very engrossed with the story. Should she tell him the truth? Is she good enough? The answers are here and arriving at them keeps you on the edge of your seat. Loved it. Highly recommend.

After liking The Unrelenting Tide by Lynnette Bonner so much, I decided to try another one of her books. I was not disappointed. This is definitely not your typical mail-order-bride book. Lynnette's books keep you reading -- much later into the night than you intend to. Thank you for another clean, Christian book that is so enjoyable to read.

I am so very pleased with this Christian romance. There are just not enough of this type of book out there anymore. I cannot wait to start the next one in the series. I hope the author keeps them coming! I would recommend this series to anyone wanting to read a good clean romance story.

Others have given summaries, so I will just give my opinion of the book. I found this story to be especially good. In fact, it reminded me a little of REDEEMING LOVE by Francine Rivers, which is one of my all-time favorites. The Christianity here was not an add-on, but was an important thread woven throughout. The action held my interest, there was just enough tension, and the characters are well-rounded.

I found only a few minor errors. Here are the ones that drew my attention. Wouldn't it have been hard to set off the firecrackers in the pouring rain? There were a couple of scanning problems, like "fee" for "feet." The grammatical errors dealt more with pronoun case usuage. Here are three of them: "I was afraid she would hate me and try to turn Sean and I against one another...." "She was praying for Sean and I." "...is enough to hold he and Chang."

Given the strength of the story, the few errors were unimportant. This book was at least a 4.5 to be rounded up to a five. In fact, the story itself was a good, solid five.

Such a great book. So many different emotions in the different characters, but love was what won. Kindness and love in some, and anger, and hatred in others. Sky worked hard at trying to turn Brooke from anger, and fear to love, as well as looking for the murderer. I really liked the Bible scriptures that were used.

This book starts out with an abused young lady who is sold as a mail order bride. A God loving Skyler intercepts her from his cousin and falls in love with her. I'll not give the plot away but the adventure will keep you from not wanting to put the book down.

A lovely Christian historical romance! Several meaningful instances in which one character shares the gospel in a relatable way to another character. Hero is a true man of God, trusting Him to lead the way and help in time of need. Fun, endearing interactions between H and h as he persistently and tenderly woos her to love him. Great family closeness and support.

Good characterization, suspense, and plot line kept me turning the pages. The many long passages of dialogue, however, needed to be broken up with action. Needed a good technical editor to eliminate the grammatical errors. These did not take away from my enjoyment of the novel.

This is a good clean Christian book. I liked the writing style of this author. The characters were believable and likeable. Could have been more dialogue. Still the plot and the suspense kept my interest. Over all I enjoyed this book.

Loved this story! The female protagonist of this story is a wounded young woman who had endured much at the cruel hands of her uncle and "fiance". Sky is a man of God who is patient and kind, and is able to help Brooke find healing and joy as their relationship as husband and wife grows. Uplifting read!
