Another story about a virginal h waiting on her manwhore boyfriend to come home. I like Remy, she was tough but struggling. She put everyone ahead of herself. Sawyer was a whiny, selfish rich boy. I suppose he was somewhat redeemed by the end of the story but it just didn't do it for me. He knew what his father was like but still placed too much blame on Remy when she had suffered enough.
Cheating? I guess that depends on how you define cheating. Sexting with multiple women while in pursuit of h? Yeah, cheating in my book. Never really felt that he loved Remy and in the end she forgave too easily.

SPOILER ALERTS ! ! !

I had ambiguous feelings about "SEAL's Bride" from the beginning with Sawyer's and Colt's attitude towards women being "Don't hate the player, blame the game". Maybe the author was attempting to show the arrogant immaturity of the brothers in spite of the fact that they were in their late 20's and had experience in the military. In reality, I find that more admirable, mature people (male or female) of that age don't defend their actions with such a logical fallacy. This is more the philosophy of a teenager who hopefully grows out of as they entter into adulthood. Most of the adults I know don't go along with this attitude of committing less than admirable acts then excusing them as going along with the crowd ("the game"). Instead, they have the ability to think for themselves in order to stand on their own and take accountability for their own actions. However, some people never grow up and I find this trait as dislikeable in these people as I found it in Sawyer and Colt. It made it difficult to invest in them as characters.

Furthermore, I found the way Sawyer treated the women in his life disgusting. The fact that he was sc*wing his unit commander's (Darren) ex mistress, Merissa, seems creepy. Where was the bro code? Darren did finally chose his wife and child over Merrisa. Then there was the issue that Sawyer was bedding Merrisa knowing she had less than admirable morals as "the other woman". While there were numerous angst-producing twists and misunderstandings in the story that placed Remy and Sawyer in their situation, I never felt that Sawyer deserved Remy in the end. However, I did recognize that he had the right to be a father to his son, Shiloh. Actually, I found few characters to admire in this writing. I felt like I needed a figurative "mental shower".

"Punt" was the additional story in the bundle. While I like second chance romance, I usually stay away from bad boy romance because I don't like "bad boys". I have been married to my best friend and husband for 30 years because I married someone I
could admire. I find the rare celebrity, athlete, or politician to be admirable. True to the mold, Liam was a "total male slut" as Audrey called him in the story. Like Sawyer, his behavior changed 180 degrees after becoming involved with the one he supposedly "loved". I suspect from what I have observed in life that these kind of characters go back to their basic personalities after the initial infatuation of romance wears off.

Personally, I think an author should research her subject better. The H's father was in the Navy, but everyone calls him "colonel ". There are no colonels in the Navy. Plus, one sister asks the h if she's dressing up for her soldier (the H). A Navy SEAL is not a soldier. I've never been in the military, but even I know this stuff. Just makes the author seem amateurish. This book was an extra in a different book I purchased, glad I didn't spend any money on it.

SEAL’S BRIDE-{A SECRET BABY ROMANCE}-HEART-MELTING & SIZZLING ROMANCE

What you’ll find in this story; a cast of remarkably impressive and engaging characters, picturesque and emotional vivid scene descriptions, family love and family drama, jealousy, gut-wrenching moments, heroic deeds, heart-throbbing toe-curling sensual romance, and a fantastic conclusion leaving you wanting more.

An evening of passion with Sawyer her high school sweetheart four years ago left Remy with the gift of life; her now three-year-old son Shiloh. After not hearing from Sawyer and being threatened by his dad, Remy decides it is best that he never knows he has a son. Sawyer now an ex-SEAL works in Washington, DC, has PTSD, suffers from survivor guilt, and is quite the ladies man. Sawyer has been ordered to go home to Catahoula, Louisiana by his dad. His dad has given him and his brother’s Walker and Colt an ultimatum to stay and work the family ranch or sell it in thirty days time. The first time Sawyer sees Remy her dad slams the door in his face, leaving him confused while dormant feelings for her rose to the surface. Remy talks in riddles and is unwilling to explain the issues she has with him. His brothers either ignore or change the subject when he questions them about Remy. With hidden fury, Sawyer comes up with a plan to get closer to her.

FABULOUS fast paced well written read by a truly gifted author. The author does not disappoint by luring readers into the story with an intriguing plot, witty dialogue, action and passionate sizzling romance. The author does a fantastic job with showing the emotions of both Remy and Sawyer and how they overcome their issues. Sawyer is also a most valiant hero. I adored Shiloh he is definitely a cutie. I absolutely loved this book, a most gratifying read. {I was gifted a copy of this book and this is my honest review}. If you treasure fantasy romance, this is a wonderful book for your library. With reservations, I recommend this book.

Ex-SEAL Sawyer Roman returns to his hometown, Catahoula, Louisiana with his two brothers. He ties to talk to his girl from home only Remy River will not talk to him.

Sawyer knows she is keeping secrets from him. His brothers will not tell him anything either. His manipulative father is pulling more strings than he imagined. He has all three of his sons home working on the farm. Remy's father and brother warn him to stay away from here and none of it makes sense.

I love second chance romances and SEAL's Bride is a very good one with a secret son too.

Brilliant..absolutely breathtaking....just two words that come close in comparison to this story. I was given this captivating story in exchange for an honest review and in one word Brilliant. You get the whole spectrum of emotions from beginning to end its non stop soul wrenching. You cry you laugh you get so angry you yell but most of all you fall absolutely and completely in love with each character.. Have I got your attention not... Ok ok here is a short run down of the story.. Remy is a beautiful woman but most importantly she is a mother. And not just any one to the absolutely gorgeous Sawyer. He is her first and only love and he is also the father of her baby.... Hush he doesn't know it so don't tell... His father was a total douche and hopefully will get karma knocking at his door.. he made life hell on Remy and then kept the letters she wrote away from sawyer and the ones he wrote to her. She has had to grow up and support her family without so much as a single word from him, that she know of. He left to live his life and forgot everything and everyone he left behind. Until he came back to turn her life upside down. But the surprise is going to be on him... Or is it? Sawyer is an ex seal with severe PTSD he has had a fun ride with woman but a hard life with the Navy and with his family so at first chance yes he left but he did regret leaving Remy she was his one.. But she never responded to his letters that he knew of she just forget him.. Or so he thought.. He comes back and plans on reclaiming her but something was off his family is hiding something and so is she... What is it? Why does she hate him so much? Why does it look like she has waited for him but doesn't make it known. What the heck is going on?..when he discoverers her secret will it be the end or is it the best setting for his future? Read and find out........

This is a fast paced standalone story about how the past can and will catch up to you know matter what. The plot for this story was intriguing to say the least because it drew me right into the book. It is full of drama, family love, jealousy, mystery, anger, tears, humor, family drama, heroic deeds, sarcasm, innuendo, miscommunication, questions that are left unanswered, romance, and love.
The h and H were high school sweethearts until the H joined the Navy SEALs. The H came home on leave and they hooked up and the h became pregnant. Now, fast forward four years, the H comes home, now working in Washington, D.C., suffers from survivor's guilt, dealing with severe PTSD, and unfortunately a ladies man.
The H's has another problem to deal with besides the mystery of why the h family and his own brothers won't tell him what the mystery is. His own father has ordered him home to Catahula, Louisiana because of an ultimatum...all three sons must stay and work the family ranch or will sell it within thirty days. WOW!
Will the H figure out what the mystery is involving the h? Will they be able to overcome past hurts? Read this great book to find out what happens. I received this book for an honest review. Can't wait to read the next book in this series about the other brothers.

I received an ARC for an honest review. Secrets. Secrets. And more secrets! And where are those darn letters? Sawyer and Remy seemed to be together forever. Then his mom died. Off he went to join the Navy. None of the Roman sons had very good relationships with their dad so they left as soon as they could (there are stories there, hope we get to read them). When Sawyer came back, he'd see Remy, last time was 4 years ago. She was pregnant. Never told Sawyer. She wrote to him. Never heard back. She had a son, Shiloh. Now all the Roman brothers have been called home because their father, the Colonel, wants to do something about the ranch. Either the boys run it or he sells it. Remy still plans to hide Shiloh from Sawyer. His brothers also hide the fact that Remy had a baby. The Colonel (who threatened Remy) and Remy's family are also keeping secrets. Nice homecoming for the Navy SEAL, right? Lots of miscommunication, unanswered questions, sarcasm, innuendo, anger directed at Sawyer for which he doesn't know why. He tries to pursue Remy and she keeps saying no. Will he get a second chance? Will she? Will Remy tell him the truth? Will Sawyer stay or go back to DC? Read the book. Well worth reading. I couldn't put it down. I wanted to shake these people sometimes but then I wanted to hug them too. You'll see...

I started out this book really not liking Sawyer. I mean really not liking him at all. His devil-may-care attitude struck a bad cord with me. I had to remind myself that his hometown "situation" really wasn't his fault. Given the character description, though, I couldn't help but think that he wouldn't have been able to step-up four years earlier, even if he had known what was going on. Remy was in her own self-imposed exile in a town that seemed totally unforgiving, trying to make the best life she could for her son, which, in her mind, meant keeping him away from everyone. The two, together, didn't light off any sparks for me. It was like Sawyer came home and slipped into what was most comfortable and easy for him, and Remy kind of just let him.
I like the time that Vivian spends on him trying to deal with his post-war issues, especially when more recent things hit home for him. I love Vivian's writing in general. The book was good, but not one of my favorite ones from this author.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

I absolute lived this book. Seeing how people interfering with others lives can mess things up so badly, makes me want to just beat someone.

Sawyer follows in his fathers footsteps and goes into the military. He becomes a seal and rarely goes home to visit. Four years ago was the last visit he made, and doesn't know that he actually left more behind than he thought.

Remy has been in love with Sawyer for years. While he's home on leave its just natural to fall back into old habits with him. Unfortunately, when he left the last time, he left her with his baby. She writes him but never hears back, and then his father, the Colonel, comes and threatens to take her child and everything her family owns if she doesn't leave Sawyer in the dark about his child. When he returns she hopes she can keep him a secret, but unfortunate circumstances causes her to tell him. What happens next isn't exactly what you'd expect.

I hope to see more about this family and how things turn out for colt and walker as well.

Remy River and Sawyer Roman were high school sweethearts. As soon as he graduated, Sawyer left for the Navy and left Remy behind. After one particular leave at home, Remy’s life has changed forever.
I’m not too much into second chances, but I haven’t read a secret baby story in a long time, which was a nice change of pace, and you gotta love SEALs. With a combination of themes, I wasn’t sure how I’d feel in the end, but I absolutely loved this story. I really could sympathize with Remy and I loved how strong she was for her baby. I was also really glad the author kept her character true once Sawyer appeared. The only thing I really didn’t get was why Sawyers brothers didn’t tell him anything. Regardless, I absolutely loved it and would love to read more stories from these two families. I highly recommend.

This was a gift for an honest review
Sawyer Roman has finally come home after a long deployment and is knocked on his butt when he sees Remy River….his girlfriend from school. When he tries to talk to her though, she wants nothing to do with him. It seems everyone else knows what is going on except Sawyer. Remy is keeping a secret…one that Sawyer can never know about….and it is killing her because all she wants to do is tell him and be with him. But Sawyer’s dad has made sure that won’t happen. The real test here comes when he is called to the hospital and he learns the truth…the secret that Remy has been forced to keep. It appears the truth only pushes them farther apart. Then there are the demons that he has to about his deployment. Is there any hope for these two at all or will the past tear them apart forever ?

I just finished reading this story in the collection called Promise Me by Vivian Wood and Willow Winters. All of the stories are great, but this one enchanted me, as it took place in Louisiana, a place I often visited as a child. Nothing could be more different than Central Texas and New Orleans! The exotic food, the accents, the scenery - I loved it all! And reading the unlikely romance between rich, entitled Sawyer Roman and the beautiful but dirt-poor Remy River is like a fairytale come true. I couldn't put it down, and by the end, I just wanted to start back at the beginning! BTW Promise Me is on sale for ninety-nine cents right now, so I hope you'll try it. Each book is a treasure, and you won't regret it! :-)

** spoiler alert ** After being gone for 12 years, Sawyer Roman returns home to find that not everything in the past stays in the past. When the love of her life left for the military she was heartbroken, only to discover he didn't leave her alone. When Sawyer comes across Remy's path again, he becomes determined to pick up where the left off. When he discovers her secret, will he run? Will the outside forces that have threatened her, back off?

Love a second chance military romance! Loved how this showed his after effect with the war. Wanted to ring both of their necks a couple times for being stubborn. I was glad that he got it together before it was to late! Great book!

Sawyer came home for the first time in four years not knowing what was in store for him or his brothers. He can't understand why everyone seems to give him the runaround regarding Remy, his old girlfriend. Working with his brothers to get the ranch back in shape to make a go of it keeps him busy buy he can't understand why Remy is so antagonistic towards him, not to mention her father and brother. He's also dealing with the aftereffects of serving in Afghanistan (PTSD and loss of his comrades). He also has a pr**k for a father who only adds to the stress. Once he finally finds out the big secret he hopes to turn things around but it isn't always easy or simple. Read this book to enjoy a wonderful love story with a lot of ups and downs but always worth it. I received a free book in exchange for an honest review.

Remy and Sawyer were high school sweethearts. He was her first everything, but when he decides to join the military there time together decreases until one day 4 years ago they spend the night together and he is gone.
But Sawyer did leave a little piece of himself.....
A little boy Shiloh.
That is until the Roman family are gathered together and their father gives the 3 brother a decision, sell the ranch or make a living out of it and that have 30 days to decide.
With Remy's ranch on the borderline and her trying to avoid Sawyer what will happen?

What will happen when Sawyer finds about the baby and the reason for her avoiding him?
Well trying to ;)

Remy loved sawyer they were high school Pom king & queen.
He left to go into the navy the first time he returned after 4 years they hooked up but she left before he woke promising herself it was the last time. Sawyer's father insisted all the boy's return home sawyer, colt & walker to run the ranch. However things have changed & secrets have been kept. Is it too late for the past to be buried?
I totally loved this book I've already downloaded seals kiss colts story can't wait to read it. Hopefully walkers will have his story out soon please?

Oh wow, if Sawyer Roman thought things were tough as a Navy Seal, well things are going to get even tougher now he finds out he has a son, Shiloh. Remy Rivers has always loved Sawyer but he went off and left her...pregnant. Now he is back what does she do? She has to tell him. Lots of love, passion, secrets, drama and so much more. It was great reading about his brothers Colt and Walker too. A brilliant read of family, navy seals and lots of drama.

Sawyer comes home after being away for four years. Sawyer and his brothers are given an ultimatum by their father about the family ranch. Sawyer tries to talk to Remy and her family and they aren't very nice to Sawyer. Sawyer doesn't realize that the last time he was home and with Remy, she got pregnant. Sawyer's dad gave Remy an ultimatum about the baby. Remy is trying to keep her end of the deal, but Sawyer is making it hard. The ending was really sweet!

This book was a great read. The characters, both main and supporting, really were a perfect mix. You had happy, moody, easy going, protective, loving, adorable, supportive, and so many more. The story was in depth but easy to follow. It makes you have feelings. You want to run and hide when Remy wants to run. Cry with her as well. Then you want to scream and throw a pity party right along with Sawyer. I love Sawyer and Remy's friends and family just as much as I love them. Grab this book now. You will not be disappointed.

I was given an ARC for my opinion on this fabulous read. Thank you Vivian!

You can never pick up exactly where you left off! Sawyer finds that out when he returns to Catahoulla and sees Remy again for the first time!

There's a big secret that no-one, his brothers included are letting him in on! One thing he knows for sure is that he is here to stay and they all better get used to that.

Great characters and a beautiful storyline that pays equal homage to Sawyer's, Remy's and both families feelings. Wonderful writing. Vivian Wood just keeps reaffirming why I read her books!

This story is about high school neighbors and sweethearts who have reconnected a couple of times over the years, including once just before Sawyer shipped out. Though the title is a clear spoiler, it's certainly worth the read because the characters are vibrant and believable. There are secrets and there are trust issues to be overcome like PTSD. Both families have their hands in this relationship--both good and bad. With the colorful characters presented, there's lots of fertile ground for a series--and I'll be watching for it! Beautiful story of two hearts working through four years of a huge secret. Remy is afraid to reveal her secret due to threats from an individual. Sawyer is frustrated because he senses there is something she is not telling him and it seems like everyone knows but him. The story will keep you enthralled as you keep hoping someone will "spill the beans". Loved the anticipation, the excitement and how the characters dealt with their magnetic attraction to each other within the context of secrets. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Five stars.

Spoilers!
This story had potential but I can't get over the numerous aspects of the time line that just didn't add up and the complete lack of knowledge. First, a 3yr old does not sit in a highchair, crawl and babble! It was obvious the author knows nothing about kids! At 3 he should have been running around, talking fluently and not carried around all the time. This part of the story really got on my nerves. Second, the back story didn't make any since. High school sweethearts but he left period no details as to what either were feeling or why he just left her? They hooked up each time he came back into town over the next what decade if you go by the one timeline of her being 25 and him 4yrs older but who knows? At one point the timeline put them about a year apart, she got pregnant at 25 and then 4 yrs later he comes back into town at age 30. Then another part says she was in kindergarten when he was in 4th grade. Third, why did she stay at home before she was pregnant? She was 25 when she got pregnant so why was she and all her adult siblings living at home? Not realistic at all! Finally, his brother's know about the baby
and don't tell him? WTH! Their reason why because they each thought it was the other brother's! Ridiculous!
Remy just seemed like a dumb country girl with no motivation to go anywhere and no drive! She wanted to travel? Then why didn't she or go off to college? why did she stay in that town if she wanted to get out? She had plenty of time before she got pregnant at 25! This would have made more since if she had gotten pregnant when he left and right out of high school!
I'm just glad I didn't pay for this one!

I loved how the drama unfolded in this story. There were a few points where I thought "Remy, just tell him already!" And then when Sawyer walked out of the hospital I had to take a break from reading because my kindle was in danger of being damaged. And when the end came, I ugly cried! A great book by Vivian Wood. This is about Sawyer Roman and Remy River who grew up together and did everything together. When Sawyer got out of school he was going to join the military yet he would come home to visit when he could. One day when he came back he told Remy that he loved her yet she did not see or hear from him for 4 years. When he returned home Remy did her best to avoid him, she now has more responsibilities and was afraid he would find out her secret. Great read

Unfortunately I wasn't digging this book to much. For me the beginning was way to slow with too many details and a lot of waiting. Then finally towards the end it finally picked up then everything kind of happens at once. I felt like a lot of details were missing and left me with some confusing. She was 28 he was 30. But it was mentioned later she was in kindergarten and he 4th grade when they first met. Just felt like details were missing or weren't adding up. It also felt like both brothers should have books. They were both so frequent in the book and had hints dropped here and there about their life's that you never really find out answers. Colt and his leg. And Walker and his past relationship. And more recent Walker and Shelby. Just felt incomplete. I also felt like the characters had no chemistry. They were "high school sweethearts and prom kind/queen" but once they met up again it was like they just met or barely knew each other. Nothing indicating that they were in love for (years?) And grew up together but nothing about their past was mentioned. I don't know. Just kind of lacking for me. The only thing I liked was the ending. It was sweet and happy.

I love second chance romances and this is no exception. Sawyer and Remy were high school sweethearts. He joined the military never returning except for short visits. During one visit he leaves Remy with an unexpected gift and didn't return for another 4 years. They had much to work thru, especially anger on both their parts once the secret of the baby is revealed.

I've read Vivian Woods books before and enjoyed them very much. This one a bit slow for me. I was annoyed by Remy and her trying to hid the fact that she had a kid and the entire town knew about it except for the father. Some of the other characters were very interesting - Hopefully I'll enjoy the other books a little more.

Another great Vivian Wood story. This is Sawyer and Remy's story about finding love again. Sawyer has been a Navy Seal for years. On a trip home he leaves more behind than he thought. Will meddling parents continue to keep them apart? Will a lie by omission be the death of this budding resurgence of feelings? This is a must read at 5 stars. I read this book through Kindle Unlimited. The writing was very good and I loved the story. My only problem was that it says Remy is 28 and Sawyer almost 30 but it is mentioned he was in fourth grade when she was in kindergarten. It also made little sense that his letters to her were sent through his father rather than to her mailbox.

Remy and Sawyer were high school sweethearts, being the prom king and queen. He was her first but then he left to join the navy leaving her behind. He was the love of her life. He became a Navy Seal and they wrote to each other a little and he came back to visit. After 8 years in service when he is back for a visit she becomes pregnant. When he leaves this time his father interferes and their communication is cut off with out them knowing. He also threatens her with ruining her family if she tells him about the baby. Four years pass before he comes home again and he doesn’t understand her hostility towards him. She push’s away all of his advances but after a few weeks Shiloh gets real sick and she finally tells him he has a son. He is pretty upset but comes to terms with everything. The book ends on their wedding day and the news they are expecting again.

The title is deceptive. The story is deeper than the title implies. It's richly told rendering a quaint southern life. The Roman brothers are interesting. While the storyline isn't all that unique, the storytelling is fresh. Although I was not convinced that Remy was Sawyer's soulmate until close to the end.

OMFG! This was one very special roller coaster ride you won't want to miss. Remy and Sawyer will totally keep you turning pages until the very end. This bad boy is hot. I don't want to give it away, but you simply have to read it. You will be kicking yourself if you don't~ I will say this...Secrets have a way of coming to light, and when they do, Watch Out!....

Enjoyed Sawyer and Remy story This is just a case of one parent thinking someone wasn't good enough for their kids and the fallout from these actions. Thankfully the hero and heroine get back together in the end. This story is well worth reading. Got to feel for the Roman brothers hope to read about the other two. Great Read. Received an ARC copy for an honest review.

Remy and Sawyer have a hard time reconnecting again. I am surprised she was able to hide Sawyer's son from him for so long. Sawyer's father did a good job of trying to ruin their relationship. The family connection between the brothers is strong. I have enjoyed reading this series and will continue reading books by this author.

Good book. Sawyer and Remy had their issues but in the end the past could be overcome and they could move forward. Thought both characters were sweet and well written. Sawyer's father was a real dick but want to hear more about his brothers. If you are looking for a sweet romance I recommend this book. Received this ARC for free for an honest review.

Heavy on the cheese. Love the characters love the banter between the three Roman brothers. Not that original but kept me interested enough that I couldn't put it down. Had to finish it in one night. I'd recommend it for a lazy afternoon of reading.

As much as I wanted Sawyer and Remy together when he joined just kept up with his video chats and text messages I wasn't sure he deserved her. But when he got her call and showed up without a question I figured he was redeemable. And his first moment as a father? like superglue for a shattered heart!

Sawyer and Remy high school sweethearts. Sawyer went off to the Navy leaving Remy behind only coming home occasionally and hooking up. Remy is keeping a secret from Sawyer. Story about second chances & forgiveness. Must read!

I enjoyed this second chance story. I liked Remy and Sawyer, though sad at the misunderstandings that kept them apart for so long. This is a standalone book with a HEA. As always, I enjoyed Vivian Wood's books. I was given this story for a free review.
