My Secret Life and Tangled Allegiances as a KGB Spy in America

I love spy novels and espionage books in general. This book was a thorough story about a man's journey from the cold hell of east Germany to the "evil" capitalist society - USA as a kgb spy. In the end freedom, family, and the truth about capitalism prevailed - screw communism!

I expected a book more about activities of a spy. But this book was instead a fascinating look at this spy's mindset throughout the experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would like to have given it 4.5 stars.

I first heard Jack Barsky on the Glenn Beck Radio show and was fascinated by his story.The book did not disappoint Jack has written a compelling account of his life and how he came to believe in the principles of capitalism.

Enjoyed the first 280 pages or so. Riveting at times for sure. There was some forgivable corniness: (spoiler) he's the best student, the best golfer, the best insurance guy, etc. Then, all of a sudden the story devolves into inexplicable proselytizing with a solid dose of Jesus. Couldn't read another page.

Book is garbage. You expect so much more. Basically Russian spy sucked at being a spy (or was really good and wrote a garbage book) was caught by the FBI, fessed up, found god.

If you read this thinking of espionage, intrigue, metal gear solid, james bond, don't buy it...you'll be so let down.
