Emotions say what? I don’t have any emotions left after reading I Am Grey, oh my! My chest felt tight the whole time I was reading and could not put it down no matter what I did. I think this has to be Jane’s greatest work of all time and she’ll have a hard time betting this one.

This book was really interesting. The things I liked: it kept my attention and I wanted to finish it to see what would happen, the characters felt pretty real and I like the flow of this authors writing. The things I didn’t like as much: I had some issues with the main character, I get that she was depressed, borderline suicidal and possible psychotic at times but gosh she made so many stupid decisions and kept repeatedly making these decisions that I just wanted to smack her. (**Some slight spoilers ahead**) At first I understood that the book was showing that she was in such a bad state mentally that she would keep going back to someone she knew was going to hurt her, but when I was like 60% of the way through the book and she was still doing the same stupid stuff? I was annoyed. I guess I expected the book to start turning in a more positive direction before then. And then the ending. I just felt so cheated not getting to see what they were really like as a couple. You get like a little snippet and then the book is over. Even the epilogue didn’t really show you much. It was like yay! The happy times are here! The couple is together and then boom. Book over. I want to bask in the happy for a least a little bit. Especially after spending so much time wallowing in the sad.

An amazing story of a girl drowning in grief, depression, guilt, and just complete detachment from the world!! Despite her want to give up, she manages to overcome her terrible past with a little help from some amazing people. Truly amazing read!!

This book is so different from what I was expecting. I grabbed it because it was written by Jane Washington and I love her books, but this... I was not expecting this. I must say it has been one of the best surprises though. Amazing job Mrs. Washington.

Wow. Just..... wow. I was not expecting this story. Jane Washington continues to blow me away. There were some things that I wanted more of, but that is just me being selfish. All in all this was a great story! I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

Wow. What can I say. I am never disappointed with Jane’s books. I’ve read every single one of her books. I can see the way she has progressed as a writer from her first novel to this one. Her writing style is unique and they way she embodies characters and pulls you into their life, their emotions- it’s unbelievable. Once again she has created another brilliant story.

This story had me riveted from the first few pages. The writing is fantastic. It truly allows you to empathize with Mika Grey, to truly feel her despair and desperation as closely as her hope and salvation. I loved this novel and would absolutely recommend it.

This book left me emotionally wrung out, and filled at the same time. To have an author shed such a precise light on the complexities and the darkness of someone suffering through a life altering trauma, but see their way to the light was amazing. This book will definitely change the way you see the world around you.

From the very first chapter there is something extremely addicting to the novel. Its a bit sad, but it has a happy ending, and the very true happy moment for me is that Mika gets better. Its a different type of style, but does amaze, and you develop a connection to the character. 10/10. Bravo, Jane!

Absolutely amazing read! It’s dark, it’s beautiful, it’s happy and sad. So many fantastic layers to this book. The characters are so well developed, you will quickly find yourself immersed in the story! I couldn’t put it down. Jane Washington knows how to spin a tale and you will not be disappointed with this one!

I loooooovvvveed this.
The way the author portrayed Grey’s depression and subsequent apathy towards everything... very realistic. It’s not about being mad or sad. She felt nothing and was begging to find something to make her feel.
I truly enjoyed her journey.

I haven’t read a single thing by Jane Washington that I don’t absolutely love. This book is no exception. She has a gift, and the fact that we get to experience that gift in every book she writes makes us unbelievably lucky. I can’t wait for her next work of art!

I never like reading stand alone books. I always feel there's not enough time to become emotionally invested in the characters. All I gotta say is thank God I read this book anyways and Jane Washington proved me wrong. She made me a devoted fan and an RH lover with her Seraph Black series and every book of hers I have devoured since. Her writing is gold and I wont be able to find anything to read that remotely compares now!

Jane Washington takes us on a journey through darkness, desolation, healing, and love. I was scared to read this book or even like it. I couldn't put it down, and I'm so happy I was brave enough to finish it.

Grey might be my new favorite color. The characters are so real and perfectly imperfect. This story is a reflection of what true depression and hope look like, wrapped in a love story where the players evolve and find themselves again. Jane Washington is a favorite author both because she can spin a tale so real that I live in her world and because she can switch genres and makes it sooo work.

This book was like nothing I had previously read by Jane. This was darker, grittier. There was angst and pushing boundaries. Which, to an extent, I suppose she has some level of in all of her books, but THIS one. WHAM! I devoured this book like it was a piece of decadent chocolate cake and I have zero regrets. Hahah. I loved it. I love seeing this different side of her writing. It was simply phenomenal. Well done, Jane!

First off, somebody get me a damn Spence, Marcus and Jean in my life ASAP. They are so amazing I loved them so much. And I want to attack Duke at all costs. I cried, I felt anxiety and panick like a mad man, I got angry, I laughed my ass off and have so many random highlights because IS HIS NAME AARON OR EVAN damnit Spence. Another masterpiece that caused too many tears. Damnit Jane I’m only supposed to say I love you to my husband and fur baby but.. I love you woman.

There are no words to eloquently express how awesome this book is. There was drama, intrigue, passion, but most of all it touched on mental instability and the variety of ways it can be caused, as well as manifest. And really the cure for everything is patience, understanding, and compassion.

I seriously could not put this down! As someone who suffers from depression it’s refreshing to see a book written so well where the main character is not instantly cured when she finds love. Grey worked hard and I hope it gives hope to others who could use some in their lives.

Like the next girl, I like a happy ending because life is too sad not to read about them.
But the main thing I loved about this book is the perfect description of grief, depression and yes, just feeling grey. It definitely spoke to me and I could not put it down!
