Little development of the characters and action was very quick. If you blink at any point, you could miss a big fight scene or really anything. Due to size of the book (# of pages) I thought there would be so much more to this story than there really was. There was some development I saw in the main demon character but the heroine was surely lacking. The author tried to write some steamy love scenes which were the only really good parts of the book in my opinion but even they were not the greatest. And every fight scene was over before it really went anywhere. Overall, the character development was lacking and the plot was super predictable.

The plot was strong and engrossing, however, there was a plethora of typos and poor word choice. This, coupled by a rush of action and limited details, as well as awkward and stiff dialogue, made the book overall tolerable.

This book has a good storyline and promising characters but there's not enough build up to the action scenes and the action itself is anti-climactic. The ending just trailed off. I like the author, I just wish for more development in key scenes.

Ecen though the leading lady is dense and her personality is one dimensional, I loved the romance, the creative scenery and charactera. Overall, this book was so innovative and good. I recommend it to everyone.

I was slightly disappointed with the ending, and overall the book didn't have much action between Alexandra and Balthazar. Other than that though, the idea was good, good grammar and had very vivid descriptions.

turns out this has some romance in it. Humanizing demons in this book put me off at first but the writer sucked me into the book. A romance between a human and a demon but with all the blood and gore of a horror/action book.

Though the first in the series, this book certainly did not make me want to read the second. All that is known about the main character is that she likes Chinese food, is modest, and a human (possibly previously a demon). The reasoning behind her value to the demon is never explained other than that she is powerful. A bountiful amount of cliches and superficial characters makes this reader unable to even scrounge up a modicum of interest to read the second or even third book of this series.

Is it possible to give NO stars? This book started off confusing, I started from the beginning twice. The flow is non-existent. I didn't even bother finishing it, I quit a little past halfway. I gave it a chance after my initial feeling that I was just duped. I like the genre, and thought this would be an interesting read, but I probably could have written a better story. I'm deleting the samples to the next two books in the series. This wasn't even worth the free price. Those five star reviews are clearly misleading, or the reviewers are retarded!

I fell hard into this book, the intrigue, action, romance, conflict, and the characters are truly engaging and very well written. I couldn't put it down! I can't wait to read the next book! Defiantly worth the read!
