I was brought right into the story at the beginning. Victoria seemed to be very good at her job. When Darien reveals who he really is , she was already knee deep in his circle. It impresses me how the respect for the Master is so strong and others watch out for Victoria when Darien isn't near. I would carry a bag 24/7 if it was a sign to leave me alone. The end scared me.

Very well written, very well paced, but if you're looking for an instove story, this isn't one. Julie Wetzel has created an intriguing world, and through the eyes of a young personal assistant, we're introduced to a world of vampires, werewolves, fay, and magic.

The story draws you in, but it's a slow burn with a cliffhanger!

I was disappointed that book 1 and 2 were separated. I didn't see any chemistry between the H and h and I spent the money on the 2nd book just to be disappointed it when there wasn't any there either. The story is creative and at first it was hard to keep up with all of the details but it starts to make sense later on.

I love the way the author managed to carefully balance the two natures of the main character. It was done so well, i came to like both characters very much. The storyline was okay, but I'm certain book 2 will clarify some uncertainties. Great read!

First this is a good start to this series. Second: what I did not like is that the setting of the tale is not named, so you do not know how to put it into your mind whether it is the USA, Australia, England, etc until you are along way into the story. This might not bother some people, but for me it did.

I am not usually into vampires, but found the story line intriguing. The one thing I thought a bit far-fetched was the level of maturity (or lack thereof) of Victoria's friends. They really didn't fit logically into the mix with Darien, a mature, elegant gentleman (albeit vampire) -- and Victoria, who was clearly functioning at a higher level.

This book is a great introduction to a series. My attention was kept throughout as we follow a young woman along during her interview and entry into not only a new challenging career, but a world of paranormal creatures she never knew existed. I really enjoyed the characters and the storyline. It is a cliffhanger ending, so be prepared to want the next book right away!

Why had I not heard about Ms. Wetzel before? This was a great read. I'm not particularly drawn to the Vampire genre, but this book was just the right amount of fantasy and reality wrapped up in a delightful style. I had to immediately get the next book downloaded. Can't wait to read more.

So, I was introduced to Victoria a young woman who recently found employment as a PA for a rich vampire boss.

Vicky and her girlfriends go out socially, get wasted, she meets more friendly vampires and her apartment is blown up.
No dead bodies, no sex, nothing.

The end, that is it.

Very enjoyable. Kept me wanting to know more...I think I'm sweet on Darien. I want Darien and Victoria together but what's going to happen now? Interesting storyline regarding vampires - completely different from other stories I have read.

I really enjoyed the interplay between the hero and heroine. The dialogue was snappy and the hero was pretty much the type of man I enjoy reading when I need a distraction from my own books. I'll be looking forward to more by this author.

Fun read . getting interesting when reached end . wud prefer a little more closure before ending the read . .Understand author wants u to get the next book n series but left dangling n this manner makes one wonder if that is way the entire series us written .

I love this story because the main characters don't fall head over heels in love instantly. It takes time for them to realize how they feel for each other like many real relationships do. I can't wait to read the next book!

I really enjoyed this novel, I am very interested in reading the next books in the series! I really liked that it wasn't one of those overly pretentious and foolish vampire novels where the vampire is a tortured soul crying about a lost love and blah blah blah! Aren't we all sick of those? This one was simply a great story!

Vickie's life is changing, and she doesn't realize just how much ,when she becomes an assistant to an important business tycoon, who happens to be a master vampire. Also something is killing supernatural beings and has targeted her.

I really liked this book. The writing was spot on and the storyline was very well-written. None of the characters were dull or silly. They were intelligent and very likable. The only problem I had with this book was that it ended rather abruptly. It left me feeling a little unsatisfied. All in all though, a good book.

Like most people writing reviews for this book, the only downside to it is the ending. It is very abrupt, just as the conflict is truly introduced, and serving as more of a setting stage for the novel series itself. That said, Ms. Wetzel does an excellent job of creating the characters of Vicky and Darien, and the odd relationship that develops between them.

If you like vampire/supernatural romance novels, this is definitely a good choice to check out.

I literally read the entire book in one sitting. The storyline was flawless. Sometimes these kind of stories can get be a bit exaggerated...but I have to highly compliment the author, the entire plot was believable and compelling. I can't wait to read more!

This was my first book from Julie Wetzel, i enjoyed reading it.
It was a great start, and little different than others vampire stories.
But i really don't like cliffhangers, and this one ends whit one. So 3 stars from me.

Enjoyed this series ALOT! Love the adult characters. (really tired of 15-17 year olds!) Immediately fell in love with the characters and into the whole fantasy world. Love the romance, adventure, character development. Had to go out and buy the next one immediately!

I looked everywhere in the description of this book. The author didn't state any place that it is a cliffhanger because she wants to sell more books. I'm giving it 3 stars for that reason. And no, I won't be getting any more because she was untruthful.

I loved reading this series. I usually only seem to read the first book in a series but Ms. Wetzel's story was so captivating that I read all 4 books. I think she is a "bewitching" author. I just couldn't seem to get the story line out of my mind.

This was wonderful! Up until the last two pages. I couldn't put it down. It was on it's way to my bookshelf! However, I hate cliffhangers. This was a real doosy. Just jump right out the window and.............

I really enjoyed it. Instead of all the paranormals being scary, they were all nice and as normal as they can be, being what they are. Makes you wonder just who is sitting next to you on the bus. Lol. Looking forward to the next one. Good job

Nice change for a vampire read. Strong characters, especially the heroine and her hero. Interesting plot, keeps you reading! Highly recommend. Will be reading more of Julie Wetzel's books in the future!

Another hit for this author. The lead characters are strong and peak your interest all through the book. The supporting characters are just as strong and important as the leads.
I like a book about and/or including shifters when it is well written. This book is well written!
