Okay, this book was mentally draining and an emotional roller coaster. Josie Sommers is a girl who has lived through hell and learned to survive. Along the way she learns just how important every decision in life is. Sometimes Josie handles these situations extremely well and at other times she falls to pieces. Gratefully she will always have her best friend and her dads, won't she? This young woman skates the edges of euphoria at some points and then the lowest of lows, in depression.
How will she handle being in love after her traumatic experience? How about the betrayals of loved ones? Can Josie learn to forgive the lies she has believed for so long? In the end Josie has her own secret, and she doesn't know how to come clean about it. Or if she'll be able to.
I will most definitely be continuing Josie's story to find out if she will find the happiness she has yearned for for so long.

This book will have you smiling, crying, throwing your tablet and wanting to read more!! I will have a book hangover for awhile after reading this. Blake and Josie are AMAZING! The chemistry between them and their relationship is nothing but perfection, but then again it isn't. Deep down Seth has my heart but how can you choose between him and Blake? You can't! You want them both to win! Josie is a perfect main heroine and her strength makes her an ideal character that you want to root for. There is nothing flawed about this book you will not regret reading it!!

This book was different in that it switched times. Changing from one year to another, jumping forward and back in time. This was an element I enjoyed and made this book stand out for the better. Josie, Seth and Blake have an unusual sort of Love triangle going on. Josie certainly loves both of them in different ways throughout the book. However her connection with Blake and his family has the potential to ruin the life Josie had worked so hard to claw back, after being abused in the worst way possible.
The author, Victoria Klahr introduces us to the friends and relatives of Josie and their parts, although small add value and realism to the story. I look forward to reading more from this series and more from this author. I award That's A Promise 4 stars ~ Rosie

A good read. Intense subject matter. A cliffhanger that definitely leaves you wanting more. Josie, you love her, you hate her, you feel sorry for her. This book brings out a ton of emotions in the reader.

WOW!!!!

I absolutely loved this book. One of the best books ever!!! Can’t wait to start # 2. Very well written story. You have a main character in Josie, who has had a terrible thing happen to her. Then she has two amazing guys be there for her. I kept going back and forth to which one I wanted her to end up with. Until the end of the book I loved Blake but changed my mind. Thanks for the great read!!! Starting the next book now.

In the few books that I have received for free for a review. I have only had a couple that I have wanted to continue with the series, this is defiantly one of them.

This book took you on an emotional roller coaster!! I loved reading about Josie's life and how she has over come some of the biggest problems she has ever had to face!! Seth is amazing and truly a great friend!!! And Blake makes you want to coo and scream and yell in the same page.. I truly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a great read!!

i loved the book, kept me reading straight until i finished it. Blake was a true love, used by Josie. Seth was so in love with Josie, always loyal until he couldnt take it any longer. I only hope another book will not find josie hurting seth again. i will not read or finish it if that is the case.

The heroine was a contradiction and became annoying very quickly. The hero was super cheesey and the things that he said instigated serious eye rolls. The plot wasn't well the developed and the story was too wordy...a lot of words that didn't add much to the story. Considering the 5 star ratings I was disappointed.

Loved, loved, loved! This book has so many twists and turns you won't be able to see straight afterwards and you'll be screaming for the next one. Lucky me, it's already out! Off to get my clicky finger on! Team Seth all the way!

This book is filled with every day reality. There were so many times while I was reading, that I felt I could relate to how the characters felt and understood what they were going through. I was taken through a storm of emotions filled with love, happiness, sadness, anger and frustration; and I loved every second of it! Josie's story is about how much love and friendship can truly handle before breaking. Josie, Seth and Blake's past, present and future are guarded by secrets, lies and promises. The author, Victoria Klahr truly did an amazing job with this story, I absolutely LOVED this book!! I am eagerly waiting for book number 2 of this series!

I really liked Josie's story - it was unique, which is sometimes hard to come by. The story is told in a series of flashbacks, giving different POVs which allowed the reader to understand what is going through the hero and heroine’s thoughts. The story started with a great present day scene, and then went between time frames continually until the end of the story. The author definitely kept the reader engaged - for example, I had no idea if Josie was going to end up with Seth or Blake (honestly, an argument could be made for either of them). Overall, a very interesting story and a quick read.

This book was amazing!!! It's an emotional roller coaster up until the very last sentence!!! I am completely attached to each character!!! Victoria does an amazing job at rehashing history between the characters and keeping you up to speed in the present!!! The love scenes are intimate and HOT!!! There is not one negative thing to say about this book!!! Looking forward to books 2 and 3!!!
