You all know how I feel about this series and how I was a bit disappointed in the ending of the last one, but this one totally makes up for it!

Caro has been sentenced to death and is waiting in a Mystical jail till that day. However, fate had a different plan when she learns she’s to be the new Elemental Prodigy and eventual Ruler. Caro’s transition from street rat to future Queen is not the easiest. She’s faced with elements of her past, including an ex lover or two, along with her own powers and what they’re capable of.

This story is the perfect example of why I fell in love with this series. It’s snarky, sexy, funny, mysterious, engaging, heartbreaking, and kick-ass.

Caro definitely falls into the vain as one of Ms. Dawn’s stronger MC’s. She reminds me a lot of Lily from the previous trilogy, but she has more of a compassionate side–well as much as any prodigy can afford. Her relationship with Sin was great and I loved how everybody tried to figure out what it was to no avail. In fact, I don’t know if the reader is left understanding what they are by the end of the book. Maybe by the end of this trilogy we might have a semblance of what they are. Regardless, it was great to see them interact with one another and the other prodigies.

The other prodigies were very different from Ezra, Lilly, Jack and Pearl. Brann reminded me a lot of Ezra, but even cockier (if that’s possible). He definitely had a softer side to him though. I loved Aria and London because they were really vulnerable in contrast to what you would expect from a future ruler. However, I have a feeling they’re going to surprise us at some point with some grand act of bravery or cunning.

Leric. Oh man. Probably one of the most mysterious and dangerous characters we’ve met in the series. Second only to Anotonio (and that’s saying something). I’m interested to see how he plays into the future plot.

The plot itself starts off about 20 years after the events of King Tomb with the former rulers firmly established. It’s great to see them again and see where they ended up. Much of the plot is focused on Caro’s mysterious background/heritage, which I’m sure will play a huge part in the story to come. The whole book was definitely a set-up with not too much political drive as in the previous books. Although we do know something is coming.

This book reminded me a lot of King Hall, the first book in the saga, which is still one of my favorites. It had all the humor and mystery with Caro’s heritage, like Lily’s, with foreshadowing of the trouble yet to come. I have a feeling this trilogy is going to surprise us in ways the first one never did–I’m looking forward to it!

* * * I received this copy from NetGalley and the author in exchange for my honest opinions. * * *

Oh...my...God!!! She has done it AGAIN!! I didn't want to put down this rediculously wonderful book!! I have been a fan since King Hall and not once have I been disappointed by what Ms. Dawn has written. I loved this introduction to the new prodigies and their characters. Can in just admit to being in love with Sin!! Oh my, so freaking much lol. God and Leric...whew...fanning my face from his hotness lol. I am curious as to where all these feelings she has for all these people are going to go...but I know where I want to see it go personally. I am thrilled to read the next installment and am so impatient right now waiting for it lol. Obviously I am rating it in at FIVE HEARTS and that is well deserved!

Scarlett Dawn knows how to write an action packed story full of intrigue, sexual tension and drama. Chosen Thief captures all of that in an exciting tale that can stand on it's own from the original Forever Evermore books (King Hall, King Cave, King Tomb).

Caroline 'Caro' Jules has lived the opposite of a soft life. As she faces a dark end on death row Caro could never expect that a last minute jail break would lead her to the doors of Mystical Royalty and that she would be soon joining their ranks. Can a con woman with a dark past really take on the royal of Queen Elemental? Will her rough edges shake things up or break down the balance her predecessors fought for?

What I Loved: Chosen Thief is game on from the first chapter. Caro oozes trouble and I knew her take on the rules and regulations of the Mystical universe would be a new spin on the Forever Evermore universe. I loved the plethora of love interests for Caro - an innocent offspring of Mystical royalty, a chosen brother/part time lover, an Elemental spiritual leader, the chosen shifter prodigy from the wealthy side of the tracks, a Mystical Elder that happens to also be a major hottie. But my absolute favorite part of the story is the original prodigy foursome - Lily, Ezra, Jack, and Pearl - who play a huge role in this story. It was so fulfilling as a Forever Evermore fan to see them in their more adult roles as Kings and Queens. Lily and Ezra still have their bite and I totally fangirled in their scenes.

What I Didn't Love: The volume of secrets Caro carries, not only from the other characters but also from the reader, kept me from connecting with her like I did with Lily Ruckler in the original Forever Evermore books. With Lily I understood what was at stake. I finished Chosen Thief not knowing a lot about Caro or her motivations let alone the other Prodigies who are supposed to shortly take over the throne.

Favorite Quotes:

"I had wrecked the one innocent thing in my life, torn it apart on purpose, and it was something I could have prevented entirely if I wasn't pushing so hard at what truly scared me. It had been a selfish act on so many levels; I couldn't help but be utterly ashamed."

"King Collins's eyes turned soft, making me feel even worse because I was no one's sympathy girl. I never had been. I was the woman others feared, and this was a very different situation for me."

"Sometimes life gives you joyful sunshine and blue skies. And sometimes it nails you with merciless hail."

Scarlett Dawn is a Paranormal Romance rock star and her expansion of the Forever Evermore series is on point. I recommend checking out Chosen Thief.

Happy reading.

eARC review (3.5 stars)

To be honest, after reading this book I felt rather conflicted. I am certain it has a lot to do with how much I loved the first trilogy of the Forever Evermore series, specifically how much I enjoyed Lily and Eraza’s characters. Although Chosen Thief shared the same fantasy world, but how the story executed was not quite the same. Chosen Thief has focused solely on Caro, along with couple secondary characters whom may be possible love interests, Sin and Leric. Rest of the characters however, included all other prodigies which were more like the tertiary characters, I found they didn't weighted as much in the story plot.

Chosen Thief introduced a new elemental element, spirit, which supposedly a very rare ability, also a new supernatural division and their leader "the One". I don't know, I felt "the One" and his people's existent significantly contradicted the position of the Kings and Queens, unequivocally debilitated the current King of Elemental, Jack. Considered it was painfully obvious "the One" was far more powerful than Jack. Furthermore, "the One" actually puts fear in the Kings and Queens. In a way the new concept rather clashed with the previous concept of the Supernatural Leaders, and I couldn't help but wonder if that was the intended purpose. However, there are still far too many unknown at this point, we would have to wait and see how the new elements would impact, and change the dynamic of the series.

While I was reading I felt the story construction seem a little random, there were some scenes while they were entertaining to read, but at the same time I didn't think necessarily have any relations to the main story plot. I was a little confused on why Caro’s ability wasn't formally introduced, elaborated until the last part of the book. We kind of know how her power affected her, but other than how much she refused to used them, or acknowledged them, the "why" part still remain as a mystery.

Caro's love interest is still up to debate at this point, it seem Caro was attracted to every hot guys she encountered, and it would appear that every guys are in love or in lust with Caro.

Sometime Caro do reminded me of Lily, but compare to Lily she was a less likable character. I thought Caro can be a little bit too much at time, she was always very sure of her ability (although she rarely uses them), she was awfully arrogant, and often problematic with a has serious attitude with the authorities. Also her little stint with Jack did not put her in my favorite list.

I was curious about the tile Chosen Thief, which seem to be a riddle itself. Is Caro a Chosen, because she is the new prodigy of Elemental? Or does it have to with her elemental ability?

Overall, I thought the story plot was not a strong one, but I found myself curious and interested in learning more about the new element. As always I enjoyed the special bonding and sparkles between each of the characters, which the author does so well on. However as much as I enjoyed reading how Caro and Sin's characters interacted, I would’ve like to see little more of other characters as well. I really liked Brenna's character, but sadly there were very little of Brenna in the book. I also loved the returning of Vizoac! I just love those little guys. Chosen Thief also brought back old favorite characters of mine, included Lily and Erza, Jack and Pearl.

Since this book left with so many questions, I am really curious about Caro's ability, and am looking forward to learn more about it.

Happy Reading!!XO

Chosen Thief is my favorite installment of the Forever Evermore series. Hands downs. Now, this does NOT mean you can skip ahead. DO NOT DO THAT. Important clues are dropped that you will miss if you do not read King Hall, King Cave, and King tomb. Caro is by far my most favorite character yet. She is a complete vulnerable mystery.

Her relationship with Sin is vaguely explained. Her power vaugley explained. Who she is going to be with is mildly hinted at.

I will warn you I almost threw my kindle when the book ended. Why? You ask. Easy. I wasn’t ready I was unprepared for it to end. BUT don’t be alarmed, Scarlett knows what she is doing. There are SO many questions that will pound through your head you will think it might explode. But with my experience (especially with this series) we will be rewarded. So bring on the next installment.

And you, person who isn’t sure if they should read this book, get unsure. One-click this sucker and grab some vodka. You’re gonna need it.

I really teetered with what to rate this one because I wanted to give it a 5 but I'm going to say a solid 4.5. Why? Because although I really really liked it - I didn't LOVE it as much as I've loved the previous Forever Evermore books. Maybe that's because I know those characters better and it's going to take time for me to develop that kind of love for this new set? I don't know. I will say this was a really great intro to the new set of characters.
Caro? Wow... what to say ?? She really loves to ... um... love? :) The girl has sooo many love interests. I'm curious to see where this leads. Caro was one of those characters that I couldn't decide right away if I loved her or not. Well, when a character can pull out a bunch of different emotions from me - I know the writer is freakin awesome. And let's face it - Scarlett Dawn is just that!
I absolutely adore Scarlett Dawn and her stories. I'm truly looking forward to the rest of this series.
If you loved the first 3 books you totally need to One-click this one - you'll definitely enjoy it. If you haven't read the others ... what the heck are you waiting for?!

I received a complimentary copy of this book through Netgalley from the author for an honest review.

Wow... Another great book from author Scarlett Dawn.... I loved the first three books in the Evermore series and this one is no different. Where as I loved the original characters, these characters won't disappoint.
Chosen Thief will hook you from the first page and keep you turning the pages to find out what happens next. So many emotions and amazing characters we see in this book. I can't wait to see what happens next in the next installment. If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would. Can't wait to see what comes next with this group of characters and from this talented author.

This book was another fabulous one written by Scarlett Dawn.

You will find this book of Caro--hilarious, rebellious, refreshing, unique, different and yet still amazing as the others in this series.

You will be gripped by the intro and glued to the pages and wonder.....
What/who will Caro eventually end up with. So many choices.... so many sexy choices. (Brann, Sin, L, I.....)

I can't wait to see what will happen in the next installment of this series! Looking forward to it!

4.5 Pookie Pookie stars from me!

5 Stars for Chosen Thief
I love the Forever Evermore series and I really enjoyed the new round of prodigies in Chosen Thief. I liked that the kings and queens I love are back helping this new group. I think I will fall in love with each new prodigy as their stories unravel in the series. Scarlett Dawn is a master of drawing you into the story and making it feel like you are art of the action. Every time I open one of her books it is a struggle to put it down until I am finished reading. Chosen Thief definitely took me on an adventure. I don’t like to give the story away so I will leave it at that and let you experience it for yourself. I will say that I cannot wait for more.

I was given a copy for review purposes.

“What was even more twisted; knowing what I knew now, I still wouldn’t change my actions. I never would. My choices were the abyss of despair, my heart wrenching and twisting, tearing in agony.”

Scarlett Dawn never disappoints me with her uncanny ability to suck me into this fantasy world.

Caro Jules is a fugitive. A caught fugitive. But what makes this even better…

She’s also the Elemental Prodigy…and a Spirit.

Reading this book transported me right back into a Mystical world of Shifters, Vampires, Mages, and Elemental Phenomena like I’ve never experienced. When I started reading Chosen Thief, I was worried I wouldn’t be able to understand an entirely new cast of mystical creatures but Scarlett integrates them beautifully with our old favorites! And I guess by the timing of the book, they have grown quite a bit older…

Now, the Kings and Queens are to become elders, the war has mostly ceased and the new prodigies are causing all sorts of ruckus!
Caro is a strong-willed Spirit Elemental, who refuses to use her powers. Because of this, no one really knows how truly powerful she is…and that little air of mystery drives this story. Every page I turned, I hoped to find out just a little bit more about Caro, but alas, Scarlett has kept me guessing…even long after I’ve closed the book.

Here’s what I do know:

Turmoil is still very much in the forefront for the Mysticals.

The Prodigies are causing just as much trouble as their predecessors.

Isa is all grown up!

And lastly, history has a strange way of repeating itself.

I cannot wait to see what happens when everyone realizes the true potential of power encased within their little Spirit Prodigy. There are going to be some serious fireworks!

If you've followed Scarlett Dawn and the Forever Evermore Series, Chosen Thief is book 4 and deviates from books one through three (King Hall, King Cave, and King Tomb). So if you've read books one through three, this is a jump forward in time, and I admit I felt a little lost starting since I didn't even read the blurb before diving in because I love the series so much! I was expecting Lily and well, got very little of her.

If you haven't read this series by Scarlett Dawn, Chosen Thief is a place you can start. Now, I do recommend going back and reading the first three books, BUT it is not absolutely necessary. You might miss a few undercurrent jokes or something, but the primary characters in this book kind of start their own saga.

Once I got past the point of wanting my old friends back, I dived into this new saga of the Forever Evermore Series and got sucked in just as quickly as I had before. Caro is a fantastic character. Very strong willed, with a lot of street smarts and an attitude that just makes you want to slap her and laugh at the same time. We still have a lot to learn with this new group of Kings and Queens, but things are bound to get even more exciting as time goes on.

This series is outside my normal reading genres but I am so glad I took a chance on it, and got hooked on that first book. Scarlett Dawn writes in depth characters, with snappy dialogue and an intense amount of action. She packs her books full and by the time your done you are wondering where the time went. You will get lost in her world and probably not want to come back to reality.

A highly recommended read and series.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the characters and the humor, but I also felt like this entire book was an extremely long introduction to the series. There honesty just wasn't enough of a plotline for me. At the end of Lily's first book, I knew exactly what she was and what that meant and that a war was coming. This book is very vague in regards to Caro's powers and history. I also didn't feel much of a connection between Caro and the other prodigies compared to how close Lily was to Jack, Ezra, and Pearl. At the end of the book you honestly don't know a great deal more than you would after reading the first couple of chapters. That said, I had tons of fun reading this book and I definitely want to see where the series is going.

I absolutely adored the characters in this series and love how they progress and interact with each other as well as the world in which they come from. The emotions I went through reading this series range from happy to angry, sad to overjoyed, lust to laughter and pride to justified. The author of the Forever Evermore series, Scarlett Dawn should be given the props she deserves on not only the imagination it took to come up with a world of such magnitude but the skill it took to put her imagination into words.

Love love love this series, and I absolutely love this book! We switch now to follow Caro, a new protagonist but in the same world. The other characters are still satisfyingly in the book, so you get to see and interact with them often which is always highly satisfying after really caring about them for three straight books, but they introduce new characters that I absolutely love as well. There are tantalizing romance possibilities, great relationships, and Caro as a character is so lovable and exciting and funny. I like this plot line even better than the first three in the series (although, definitely read the first three first, to build proper character and world background), and I highly recommend the book!

The continuing story of the kings and queens of the elements is fantastic. The story of the next generation of kings and queens is great. I laughed and at times even wanted to cry.

The Prodigies Caro, Londan, Aria and Brann is fantastic. The main story was around Caro and Sin they are to half of a whole. Caro is a sprite an earth element that there isn't much known about. Caro and Sin lived a life on the run most of the time just under the radar of the law. When one of the four Prodigies was killed Caro got the power. That's when her whole life changed, not for her but for the whole royal court. Caro and Sin are really a breath of fresh air with a twist of the devil.

This series and this book is well worth reading.

I'm obsessed with these characters, Caro is a great heroine because she Revels in her inperfection and her antics are just funny.. The love interests are just hot hot hot, the storyline has twists and turns.. And by the end it left me simultaneously wanting more (the next one) & wanting to re-read the hole series so far! I love the prequels too!
