BEST BOOK EVER READ!!!! Had all the elements in it it covered every thing. It didn't miss a thing!!! This book did not disappoint anywhere. So worth the READ and the money spent . Just wish it had been in a whisper sync version too. It would have been even better.

I bought this book for romance but it turned into an amazing adventure with times I wanted to cry. A strong determined woman who had amazing faith in God. A book you think about long after you're done reading it.

It was an excellent book. However, I think waiting until the last chapter for Soaring Eagle and Red Bird to become engaged was a disappointment. I would have like 1-2 chapters more about them. Their wedding. The list of their children was nice.

You could call it a saga, picturing the rough life of a pioneer woman. If it weren't for the too much emphasis on the christianity aspect which I found quite tiring, I would have whole heartedly loved it.

When a friend loaned me "Walks The Fire", she told me that if I suffered through the first chapter, I would absolutely love this book. She was right! This wonderful story follows a pioneer woman named Jesse King as she travels to a new world and is kidnapped (or rather, rescued) by a Lakota warrior. After saving a deaf toddler, Jesse becomes Walks The Fire, is received by the Lakota women as a fellow sister, and wins the heart of the man she has grown to love. Once you get past the first few pages, you will not be able to put this book down!

Having lived in several countries, I know how it feels to go from completely not understanding anyone to comprehending, to real friendship, to being able to appreciate and express yourself in a different culture. My dearest friends are from a variety of cultures and live all over the globe. I speak with authority when I say that this is a GREAT book on learning to live in and love the people of a different culture. I find myself alternately laughing my head off (Makes No Fire) and crying (over the losses, the tender love, the unfulfilled yearnings, the misunderstandings). This book is a keeper worth reading again and again.

What a great book for your pre-teen! Enough "romance" without the nitty-gritty details. I loved the storyline and ordered the 2nd and 3rd books right away. I worked in an elementary school library for 5 years and became good friends with one particular student. She would ask me to suggest books for her. To this day, we have continued our book club of 2! After I finished reading this series, she was delighted to get them. I know she will enjoy reading them over and over! Thanks for such a great series.

This book keeps you interested through out! Several books I have read start out with a good plot but drag it out in the middle and finish well so you will buy the next book. Not this one! I am into the second book and it is very good also :)

I truly could not put it down! Character development and story plot held me spellbound. To say I used up a box of tissues would be accurate. I love that the author intertwined God's Word within the story. Great read and can't wait to read book 2,

Not a typical christian romance. This is "old school" christianity, back when the Bible was a regular part of a family's daily regimen. And, this author has done her research and made the novels historically accurate. Yet, if you aren't a history buff and not into Bible study, you'll still love these novels because they are so well written. You get drawn into loving the characters and caring about what happens to them. One of the few books that have made me laugh, cry, and hope. I devoured this series and went on to the next. Let this review stand for every series this author has written. Great work!
