I enjoyed this book. It started out a trifle slow, but it soon picked up and took off. It took me to a different paranormal direction that I have never been. Made me very curious about it and wanting to know more.

The book started off slowly, but gained momentum like a rollercoaster on the first hill! Sure glad I stayed through the initial build-up because, once it did get rolling, I was captivated. Have patience; it's really worth it.

This is a very intense book, very well written, with a rich plot and characters very well developed. Jessica Ballard is not a normal teenager. After the death of her mother, he ended up living with her aunt for a few weeks during the process of moving into college. When in college, strange things start to happen and she asks for a professor (Dr. Pierce) that teaches paranormal classes to help her understanding what is going on. Her roommate Tia is wonderful. I simply love her. Always there to support Jess and to help however she can. Jess sees and interacts with dead people. But soon things get out of control and the only person who can explain what is going on is her aunt, twin sister of her mother. And then, many family secrets come to the surface and Jess needs to get ready to embrace her destiny.
I loved everything about this story. The writing style is wonderful, very well revised and edited, plot flows smoothly and there is plenty of action that makes you read the book in one weekend, at the edge of your chair. I really recommend this book to the permanent library of any reader that likes action with paranormal activity. I can hardly wait until I put my hands on the second book (Spirit Prophecy) of this trilogy (The Gateway Trilogy).

This book starts out rather slowly and holds little surprise. As it continues however tension begins to build and the story becomes a true thriller. By the end of the book the reader is completely caught up with the tale and ready for the next book and that is what it is all about.

Never repetitive so much better than the first and the first was great! I love the humor and seriousness she uses for her young characters, she ties events together well. My only complaint is that it was too short!

Interesting. An addition to the usual ghost stories. I like the idea that there are gateways for the spirits to cross over peacefully without being forced as in an exorcism. Looking forward to reading more about Jess and Hannah.

Loved this book. Not your usual "ghost" story. Original story concepts and unique world building. Kept me glued to my Kindle from beginning to end. So glad the second book is already available so I can binge read - then I'm sure I'll be jonesing for the third book. Keep 'em coming!

Nothing was predictable in this book and for that I was grateful. Like many of the other reviewers I read it all on a Saturday and s immediately downloaded the sequel. You won't regret giving it a try.
