Kyle, his book loving team mates, and quirky Mr. Lemoncello are all back for something awesome: the Mr. Lemoncello’s Library Olympics! Teams of students from across the country will compete, solving puzzles, answering trivia questions, and proving their library skills. Kyle and his team mates aren’t too sure they have what it takes to compete againts SO many smart kids, but they soon discover that they have even bigger things to worry about. Someone is trying to censor what books are available and books are going missing. Can ALL the competing kids work together to save the most amazing library in the world?!
Escape From Mr. Lemoncello’s Library was an extraordinary read and author Chris Grabenstein has created magic again with this sequel! Mr. Lemoncello’s Library Olympics is a fantastic love letter to books, authors, and libraries and librarians everywhere! With a pitch-perfect, fresh, and funny voice, and storytelling that zings off every page, Mr. Lemoncello’s Library Olympics will charm and enthrall even the most reluctant young reader.
The library Mr. Lemoncello has created is the Hogwarts and Disney-World of epic libraries! This wondrous and fascinating setting, from its awe-inspiring collection of books; innovative technology, and wicked cool factor, is just so much fun and readers will have a blast exploring all its nooks and crannies. Grabenstein brings back all the characters readers loved (and loved to hate) from book one and introduces a slew of new, eclectic and engaging characters to enjoy. And of course, quirky, whimsical, irresistible Mr. Lemoncello is as unforgettable as always.
Mr. Lemoncello’s Library Olympics is bursting with action-packed excitement and fun, with awesome puzzles to solve, clues to find, mysteries to uncover, and surprises to be wowed by. The brains and imaginations of young readers will get an exhilarating workout as they join Grabenstein’s characters in each game, obstacle, and adventure.
my final thoughts: Mr. Lemoncello’s Library Olympics has everything and more you could want in a middle-grade book: humor, heart, adventure, great characters, and an enthralling story. Young readers will go absolutely crazy for this delightful and awesome read!

Book #110 Read in 2016
Mr. Lemoncello's Library Olympics by Chris Grabenstein
This is the second book in a series that book lovers (children and adults) will enjoy. In this book, another competition has been arranged by Mr. Lemoncello, with the winners promised a full college scholarship. Library and book knowledge is key to win, as well as a good ability to figure out riddles. A good, quick read--I enjoyed it.

It's the very first Library Olympics at Mr. Lemoncello's Library with kids from across the nation competing against Kyle and his friends, the reigning champions. Chris Grabenstein has created such a wonderful world in this book and its predecessor, I imagine I'm a silent teammate helping Team Kyle during the competition. I have a pad on hand to help solve the puzzles as I imagine how it would be to have an real library like Mr. Lemoncello's. This is a great book to spark a love of reading in a child! I look forward to another trip to Mr. Lemoncello's Library very soon!

I really liked this sequel. I loved the library games. I loved the readers being readers. I loved how a few competitors talked in Dewey. I found Charles entertaining. I liked the highlighting of censorship and that libraries are a fun place to be, instead of a silent cold building with only appropriate books to read.

Mr. Lemoncello's Library Olympics is a Tyronne Carter Kid Scientist by having a Library Olympiad as a central piece in the book. Somr books are missing and that is the problem to be solved. This book is lively and very well written. If you are interested in another kid's book that champions libraries try my book, "Tyronne Carer, "Kid Scientist."

Mr. Lemoncello's Library Olympics is a fabulous book! Kyle and his teammates race through another series of Mr. Lemoncello's games, competing against teams from all over the United States! The teams solve complicated riddles, find clues, and work together to finish their task before any of the other teams. While they are having fun doing the Library Olympics, an incident occured in the library. Mr. Lemoncello is heartbroken, and it's up to Kyle and his friends to save the day--and the library, too.

four and a half stars! : I loved this book sososososo much. readers need to now that it has the same fun story plot as escape from mr.lemoncellos library! though some young reader's may get a little scared at the end. this book is allot about friendship and team work! I would say this book is a good age for 8/9-11/12 due to the reading level and scariness. I hope you enjoy it as much as i did! have fun reading!!! :)

After enjoying Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library and being charmed by it, I was hoping for more of the same from Mr. Lemoncello's Library Olympics. I enjoyed it, but I also found it pushing my ability to believe in the absurdity of the situation a lot more than the first. While reading the first book is not a requirement it will make the setting and the characters make a lot more sense. Having the background certainly helped and I found a few times when I would probably have been lost without it. That said, Chris Grabenstein is one of those authors that really likes libraries and enjoys the word play that they can create in crafting a novel for middle grade readers.
The plot is fairly basic - following the first book in which contestants tried to escape the library, public uproar causes Mr. Lemoncello to create a nationwide contest to find future library lovers. Most of the main players from the previous book are back along with some new ones. The book is enjoyable but even so, a bunch of tweens running about knowing the specific Dewey Decimal number for things like coffee and ice cream stretches the imagination near breaking point. There's a lack of depth, too, in most of the bit players. Still some surprises to be had, but the humor runs thin by the end. Less than charming, but if you want to know what happens next, may still be worth a read for all the zany that Mr. Lemoncello can dream up.

I got this book after purchusing Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library.I can describe this book in two works:Simply awesome.
The book starts of with Kyle and his friends staring in Mr. Lemoncello's game commercial. Then Charles complaines how Kyle and his team "robbed" him,so his mother(because he is spoiled rotten)organizes a group of people(The league of concerned library lovers)to take the Lemoncello out of Lemoncello library.Next kids across America are mad when they where not chosen to play in the escape library game,so Mr. Lemoncello organizes the library olymics!
If you loved Escape from Mr. Lemoncello Library, you will have to get this book!

The main characters of the story are Kyle, Sierra, Akimi, Miguel, Marjory, and Mr. Lemoncello, they are all smart, kind, and show good sportsmanship. Marjory, on the other hand, is really mean and nasty. She doesn’t care about her teammates and just thinks that she is the best. Mr. Lemoncello is really nice and he wants to have a lot of fun.
I think the theme of this story is to never give up. For example, Kyle and his friends never give up even when they have the hardest competition. They always fight back no matter what happens. I think this a good message because I could follow this and work harder for things.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes adventure, suspense, and funny books. I like this book because it keeps you interested throughout the whole book. I would also suggest reading the first book, Escape from Mr. Lemoncello’s Library.
