The writing of this book was a hindrance in finishing it. Although the story itself was good, the grammar and sentence structure were, in a word, atrocious. Any decent book editor would pick these up immediately, so I'm surprised it was published in this form. For this reason, I will not read any more of her books.

I agree with the other reviewers - the grammatical errors really took away from the story. I won't bother to finish reading it. It's too aggravating having to mentally correct the author's many mistakes.

This book really had possibilities, but the grammar mistakes and sudden shifts in point of view made it difficult to really enjoy. It is written in a jerky manner, with short and sometimes incomplete sentences. A good editor could really improve the overall tone of the book. The author needs to learn how to pick a point of view and stick with it. I lost count of the number of times the story was being told from Corrine's mind, and suddenly a third person POV was being used. I sort of expected another character to be introduced who was actually the one narrating the story.

From the moment I started reading "Finding Her Way", I was hooked. I read this book within a 24 hour period, because I could not put it down. The characters are well developed and I was drawn in to their lives and struggles and joys, just as I am with friends and family. Enjoyable from first page until last. Would highly recommend this book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. However, this needs to be better written/edited. There are so many instances where the author switches from first person to third person, sometimes within a sentence or two. As well as many sentence errors. But even with those annoying things out was a great read!

It is refreshing to find a good story that doesn't have sex scenes in it or foul language. The biggest blessings are the discussions between the characters about God. The life lessons are really great. These people have the same hardships we have today; love, joy, sorrow, death. They perservered just as we do. Thank you Ms Banicki for this series.

SHE OVER COMES EXTREME HARDSHIPS AND COMES OUT LOOKING LIKE THE ROSE THAT SHE HAS BECOME. GREAT WOMEN OF DETERMINATION AND FRIENDSHIPS THAT CAN BE FOUND IF YOU LOOK.

A sweet story with engaging characters and an abundance of sub-plots exploring the rigors of mid 19th century travel. I couldn't help but notice the author's tendency to switch tenses, and while I would recommend a better copy editor, I think fans of historical fiction would enjoy this book.

As a writer, the thought of a not 'perfect review' is like nails raking down the blackboard so I am hesitant to leave one. I thought the storyline was good but all the characters needed as much meat as the main character. I would seriously consider re-editing the problems with sentence structure as stated by other reviewers.

The story is good, however I think the author missed all her English classes from fourth grade through college. Several sentences required my reading over and over because the grammar was so bad.. run-on sentences and very little punctuation. Because of this, I can't bring myself to read any more of this authors book's. Sorry.

I really enjoyed this story and plot line. The only thing that tended to be distracting to me was the grammatical errors and other typos. Even though it was revised, rewritten and professionally edited, it needed an editor that pays attention to grammar. It wasn't bad in the beginning but I started noticing it more towards the end.

This was a satisfying story with enough excitement, good life and true love. However, there were grammatical errors throughout the book. The most annoying was the interjection of the first person we into a story written in the third person.
All in all it was a pleasant book to read, but I would not re-read it.

The only reason I continued to read this book was the interesting story. Although I enjoyed the story immensely, it was difficult to make myself read it. Very poor sentence structure, grammar, punctuation and spelling! Did no one proofread this book? I am truly amazed it was published this way. I would definitely read more of her books if I could be assured it wouldn't be such a painful process!

I enjoyed the storyline very much and loved the characters. There were several grammatical errors and spell check errors they forced me to re-read several sentences to get the intended message. Also a few times the narrative switched to first person for a sentence or two.

While the plot is good and details about existing in a wagontrain are well done and interesting, the grammar is strange, and quirky use of verb tenses and ignorance about punctuation are distracting! One such example could be a typo, but these puzzling uses of the English language go through the entire book. Why? I enjoyed the interaction between the herbalist and the native Indians.

Easy reading with some nice characters that really come into life. The story unfolds of an amazingly hard journey but one that ends in joy. A clean read that is highly recommended. Well done Leah! Keep up the good work!

Good reading, finished rather quickly as the story moved along. I may get started on the next one in the series as I like to finish what's available. Would recommend this book if interested in Christian romances.

The story line was good and the characters well developed, but it needs serious editing. The sentence structure is very poor, and there are many grammatical and spelling errors throughout. This could have been a 5 star book.

I truly enjoyed reading "Finding Her Way" If you enjoy books about mail order brides, this is a must read. The story keep moving and was interesting with each page. I will read more books by Leah Banicki. Although this was a fiction book, there were many interesting facts.

Diana H. MYERS---- This way a truly realistic Pioneer saga. I felt their hardships, their sorrows, their adventures and their joys. It held me interestthroughout the book. I love Christian Pioneer books, and this is among the best.

This was a heart warming book but also heart breaking. It is the story of a young woman forced into a marriage to guard her reputation. There were many trials on the way and even more at the end of her trip. Endearing.

A well written historical book bases on a wagon train trip to California. It was a very good read. I enjoyed the trip and experience of the main character. I highly recommend it, and am looking forward to her release of Angelia's Hope.

This was an interesting storey mainly due to its time period. It did capture the struggles of being female in a world that mostly still believed that a woman had no true rights. The death of an antagonist while from a common cause was too convenient. The second antagonist was too weak. But as per usual all turns out in the end.

The story itself is a great adventure with lots of heart. However the spelling and grammar are sorely lacking. I would love to edit Leah's work at no charge, just for the pleasure of reading her beautiful stories.
