This was a very entertaining read. The author's narrative and descriptions kept me turning the pages. I hated putting it down for the night. I really enjoyed that there was no explicit sex. There were sexual references but they were very tasteful. I love reading good clean historical fiction. The faith aspects of the book were very refreshing and added to the story.

I loved the characters, storyline, author's writing style and the fact that the book was well written and enjoyable without the sex scenes. Although I like a little more desire between H/h, the lack didn't detract from the story. I wouldn't be embarrassed to recommend this book to anyone.

I enjoyed the story. The author was a delight to read with her turn of phrase and her wonderful used of the English language. The characters were well developed and the story was fast paced. I'd you like historical romance, this book is a must read.

This book caught my attention mainly because of the heroine Annyne Bretanne. She is swept away by revenge ( her brothers murder) and is most comfortable disguising herself like a man; even training like one. Garr Wulfrith is the object of her hate but as she soon realizes is not at all what he seemed. His character was very heroic and I loved the chemistry between them. In the midst of all the plotting the backdrop is medieval England. If you like that time period you will love this book. The best part is that throughout all the trials and tribulations they kept God as their center and refuge. :)

I thought the writing for that time period was well written. The editing and punctuation was also well done. The book really dragged for me until about 50% through (SPOILER: until she was discovered not to be a boy). I realize the author was trying to set the scene, but 50% setting up was too much. Things picked up at that point, and it was very good from this point through to the end. I give it three stars because it was slow through half the book.

I enjoyed the story and the characters portrayed in this book.
However, I like to identify with them and in this book I could not.
Also, the sexual content and that alluded to was a bit too much for me. The story would not have been damaged by its omission
or a more subtle treatment. If the rest of the series is like this book, I will forgo reading them.

I don't usually read Christian stories. I find to like more spice and crackling to a story. Yet, I tried this one because it was under a historical medieval category. I have to say, I really enjoyed it! It was a fast pace page turner and kept me interested to the end. An enjoyable book and I will be getting the sequels to it too!

I identified with Annya so much, it was refreshing to have identified
so clearly what is more than just being a tomboy. The author's
talent for description allowed me to read like I was seeing a
movie, very good visuals. For instance, the hall in the castle, I saw
vividly how it was set up and who was where. On to the next book.

This is a good period peace book. With revenge plots, murder schemes a bit of cross-dressing and of course unwanted love though it starts off a bit slow it does hold your attention to the end. If you're looking for something hot and steamy this is not it this is just a good sweet heart string pulling romance book

Thoroughly enjoyed this book, once I got into it - I couldn't put it down. I'm not sure if this is a spoiler, so I'll just caution you - I was mostly disappointed when I read the synopsis of the next book in the series, that the story doesn't continue with the main protagonists and continues with other characters in the book. I wanted more of Annyn and Garr! So I've yet to purchase the next book in the series.

This book captures you and pulls you into the story from the beginning. The characters are well developed and you feel for them as they navigate treachery and betrayal. Although this book is the first of a series it doesn't leave you hanging and can be read as a stand alone. That said I loved the book so much that I plan to read the others in the series.

Always looking for romance novels that are a little different and we'll written. This one hit the mark! I won't rehash the plot as you can get that from the other reviews but I will say this one shouldn't be passed on. It's found a home on my keeper shelf so I can reread at some point. Glad I picked it up! Happy reading!!

FABULOUS ! The story was captivating, I had trouble putting this book down. There were some wonderful plot twists that kept me on my toes as well. The main characters were well developed and this historical references were spot on. Easy book to curl up and dwell on. It kept me thinking for several days, well past the final page. I WILL be buying into this author's series!

This book had an interesting plot. I appreciated the treatment of the subject of forgiveness within personal relationships. The "whodunit" aspect kept you guessing to the end. I thought I had it figured out, but I was surprised at the end. An enjoyable read!

Beautifully written, this book had drama intrigue, and love. Like a tapestry this book starts a tale with many threads. From the beginning the reader is drawn in by the death of Jonas. Then there is the lesson of vengeance and finally the lesson of love, real love, the kind that doesn't come from the stirring of one's loins but the kind that instead latches to your heart and never lets go.

I really enjoyed this book. I like the characters and the plot. The medieval time period was a nice change and it was a well written Christian historical fiction. I will read more by this author, especially with this time period.

I enjoyed the relationship between Garr and Annyn, and the historical setting in King Henry's England, although some of the attitudes and actions of Garr did not fit the era of the story. It was as if modern day thinking were transposed on medieval England. It didn't quite fit, but still an enjoyable story.

This is a good book; however, it tiptoes along the borderline of being too physical. It starts and ends as a Christian book, but the middle reads very much like a somewhat sanitized secular romance novel, and Christianity disappears during that portion of the story. The writing is sometimes odd or illogical, but the characters and plot are engaging.

Really enjoyed this book. Annyn wants revenge on her brother's death and she masquerades as a boy to train at Wulfen castle under Garr Wulfrith, who she believes murdered her brother. As time passes, she comes to believe that Garr is not responsible, that his sense of honor is too great. When she is 'unveiled' as a woman, Garr takes her to his family home, and imprisons her,but he has fallen in love with her. And she has fallen for him as well.
Having read all five of this series of books, I highly recommend them all

I found the book quite enjoyable, following the escapades of Annyn. In many ways, I think she does what many of us wish we could do, pretend to be a man and fight on their playing field! There is love, deception, and intrigue all bound together in the 1100's in England. Written in such a way that I felt I could truly see what was happening.

A Wonderful story with seamless medieval details and atmosphere --- No breaking of the mood with inappropriate modern exclamations from the characters --- Long enough to give one a chance to settle in with the characters and enjoy their growth and the twists that result from that. Forgiveness is a theme that is not easy to reconcile in the medieval world and it is addressed well here. I loved the love story in it, beautifully done -- BRAVA, Ms, Leigh!! Thank you for writing this and for offering it for free

Feudal wars of the 1200 -I found it dramatic, suspenseful and very enjoyable. It's always unique when the lady dresses as a boy and goes to another castle to atone for her brother's death.Even more dramatic and enjoyable when she attempts to stab the Lord. Read on..

Really enjoyed this story, and look forward to reading more by Tamara Leigh! I really appreciate when a fiction author can write a good, long book without boring the reader to tear OR being incredibly repetitious. This was a 5 star read in my opinion!

Tamara Leigh's heroine disguises herself as a boy to seek vengeance for her brother's death. Hiding in plain sight, she ventures into the "Wulf's den to do just that. Her encounters as a boy keep the reader's interest throughout.

Awesome! I started it yesterday, finished it today, and just bought the next book in the series. If you are a fan of medieval romance I recommend this book. Don't worry about that heaving bosom stuff. There's plenty of toe curling without being raunchy.

I first started reading Tamara Leigh when I read Daughter of Eve andI WAS HOOKED! Not only do I love being carted back to a time of Swords, Lords and Castles. I love the message that men who love God can fall in love without being mysoginists or wimps! I love that she writes about women who in an age when you would be tempted to think of women as "weaker", her characters are strong, bold and courageous.

As a history and highlander fan, I found this book wonderful to read. I thoroughly enjoyed the romance that soon blossoms between the two. You may have to reach for the medieval dictionary now and again but its worth it. A simply enjoyable book that has faith running all the way through it.

The Unveiling was a good story and kept my interest throughout the book. Although a woman masquerading as a man makes the story less believable it was an entertaining read. I would recommend this author and would read another of her books.

I read the entire novel in three evenings. Lost some sleep but it was worth it! The characters were deep and detailed. The detail of daily life did not slow the pace of the novel but actually added to its richness. The story itself was well woven with enough twists and emotion to keep me from putting it down. Well written. Well worth the read.

This book was well written and well read. I loved it from the first page to the last. I could not put it down. I loved the story, the romance, the history and the unveiling. It is worth every penny and more. However, it did take time getting used to the writing for that time era, but it doesn't take long and soon you will find yourself trying to talk like that.

I enjoyed reading this book so very much. Both the hero and the heroine are honorable and like able. I particularly liked the humor that Mrs. Leigh threaded thru ought the book. The romance was clean, pure and very believable. I look forward to reading more about the Wulfrith family.

This was a wonderful, clean Mid-Evil romance. I have read and loved all of Tamara Leigh's prior Christian Novels, and was not disappointed with The Unveiling. From the very beginning it lured me in with a mystery and from there kept me reading until the very end. Love, betrayal, honor, murder....this story has it all.

The plot is clear; the characters well defined. But the tale's spinning is marvelous; an historical novel at its best. If this venue is new to you, silence your fear and take the leap...you'll enjoy! PS: there are some archaic words you'll just have to guess or look up; they do make the spin delightful.

This is such wonderful reading. I am a slow reader but could not put this down, so I finished it too soon. I am so excited that there is more to the set and I look forward to going on with the story. Thank you Tamara, for keeping me entertained and having an expectation of more to come.
