For me, Mia Sheridan is perfection. Her writing is gorgeous and her ideas are creative and unique. I’ve loved every single book of hers. They have each stayed with me in some way. This one is no different...I highly recommend!

This wonderful story about love, family and self-discovery is another proof that Mia Sheridan is without a doubt one of the most exceptionally talented authors I ever came across in the book world. She is among my unicorns and a guaranteed auto-buy. Her epic stories and endearing characters always touch me on such a deep emotional level and leave a trace on my heart and soul. Mia is a word-smith par excellance who knows how to seduce your mind and elicit your deepest feelings.

Olivia Barton is a wealthy socialite whose fiancee Alec disappeared on a business trip. A private investigator tracks him down to Palomino - a small town in Colombia. Livvy is confused and heart-broken about the behaviour of the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with but she is desperate to find him and get some answers. She decides to hire a guide who would help her travel the country that has recently been ravaged by a massive earthquake and deadly tsunami. Thomas is a handsome man but he is dangerous and full of secrets. Olivia has no other choice than to rely on him and his ability to get her safe and sound to Palomino. It doesn't really help that they feel highly attracted to each other. There is something about this quiet man that speaks to her heart - a loneliness she can identify herself with. In the jungles of South America Liv and Thomas will soon discover that sometimes the thing you seek, isn't necesseraly the thing you find.

I absolutely adored Olivia and Thomas. I loved Liv's resilience, her inner stength and her ability to see goodness in all people. She was very perceptive and had such a kind and caring heart which some people misinterpreted as a weakness. Although she was extremely wealthy she was yearning for something that money couldn't buy - a loving family. Thomas has been through so much pain and tragedy in his life which made him hard and guarded. This broken man chooses to be alone because he never wants to give someone the power to break his heart. He is afraid of love because in his eyes it only makes you weak. But he was helpless to resist Olivia's benevolance and warmth.

Seek was a beautiful and touching story showing us that sometimes you embark on a journey thinking that you know where it's going to lead you but eventually you end up in a much better place than you ever though possible. True love can truly be found under the most unusual circumstances. That's how fate works.

I've devoured this story within a few hours and enjoyed every single minute of it. I was even thankful for the many tears that I've shed and the heart-break that I've felt. But the ending was absolutely worth it. I strongly encourage you to give this book a try - trust me, you won't regret it. Thank you Mia for this 5 star reading experience.

This was another big hit for me from Mia Sheridan. I hate to go so far as to say she can not go wrong, cause I'll be honest...Becoming Calder and Finding Eden were not my favorites, haha...she is darn near always spot on for an amazing read for me.

As always she tugs at your heart and makes you feel things you didn't know where possible, what isn't the norm when it comes to Seek is the action and the raw grittiness of this story. While I found myself in the beginning questioning if this was going to be a book I loved or not I will say that Mia Sheridan pulled through. She straight up she broke my heart in the first few paragraphs and then boom, things jump ahead many years, (that's where things got a little iffy for me) and we're in the middle of a suspense novel that I never saw coming, FYI, I am terrible about reading book descriptions I almost never know what I am getting into until I am there, ha.

Thomas is both the hero you expect Mia to write and at the sometime something so different for her. He is broken, like all her heroes, and yet redeemable on so many levels. He falls in that land of grays ( like his eyes, swoon) instead of a clear black and white. He's emotionally unavailable and though he feels an insane attraction to the woman he has agreed to guide through the jungles of Columbia she is a job, simple as that. Except, things don't always go to plan do they...in one instant everything can change. Thomas is the darkness that is the antithesis to Olivia's light. He is rough edges to her smooth surface. He is everything she is not, except lonely.

Olivia is a wonderful heroine. She is compassionate and caring. She is determined and courageous. I loved her strength both in her beliefs and in her being. She is not one to brush off (as Thomas does) as a weak debutante. This is a woman who can and will hold her own, even against a secretive, grumpy, ex Seal turned mercenary. Because of her belief in people and her compassion she has sadly been taken advantage of through her life, however she has not let it change her belief that people are inherently good.

Together I loved their chemistry both emotionally and physically. I loved the push and pull between them and when they finally give in to the desires and emotions they have been feeling it is everything you want to have happened.

I really enjoyed the suspense and intrigue in this story. The surprises kept coming and the action was gripping. This was a quick read, one sitting not only because it just isn't a terribly long book (not a novella however) but it hooked you and kept you turning pages wanting to see what happens. I you are a fan of contemporary romance, thrillers, or suspense novels this will be a great choice for you. I hope that you will give this book a try!

Olivia's fiance' Alec, goes missing and she hires an investigator to help. When she learns Alec is in Columbia she seeks help from a guide. Thomas was not what she expected. She didn't expect to start feeling things for the man who was helping her find her lost fiance'. He is mysterious and at times cold, yet Olivia sees the good beneath his rough exterior.

Thomas is hired by Olivia to take her to her fiance' in Columbia. As an ex-navy seal, he was an excellent choice for the earthquake, tsunami-torn Columbian terrain. And while he had a job to do, he couldn't seem to fight his attraction to Olivia.

They run into quite a bit of trouble along their journey and it only serves to bring them closer together.

I read my first Mia Sheridan book, 'Leo' in March of 2013. Since that time I have become a HUGE fan of her storytelling. Her books are generally angsty, sexy and hold a message. Sheridan has always been one of my top favorite authors. So, keeping it real here, this was my least favorite book from Sheridan.

I was looking forward to the thrilling element the blurb promised and while there was some intrigue, because the story was rushed, the thrill was lost. Also, the characters fell flat for me. The instant attraction/love was over the top and everything just felt rushed. I didn't get a chance to connect with the characters and believe in them before they connected with one another. Olivia at times comes across as self-assured and then other times as immature. Thomas was a tortured hero and by all accounts, I should have loved him. But there wasn't much depth to his character.

Having said all of that, I can't wait to read what Mia Sheridan writes next because out of the 11 books from her I've read, my average rating is 4.6!

Olivia, young and rich woman, is searching for her fiancé, dramatically disappeared in Colombia after an earthquake and a tsunami.
Thomas is an ex seal, now working on his own, rough, mysterious and dangerous. A hunter, a predator. In exchange for money he will help the gorgeous woman.
But as Mia says " REALITY COULD BE SO DIFFERENT THAN PERCEPTION ".
Money can't buy everything. Money is not enough. Not for Olivia, not for Thomas...They both are looking for... more.
Concretely and emotionally... They just didn't know it at first.
Through their journey they discover what they are both missing. Really missing.
Yes Thomas is a mercenary ready to do everything he can to succeed his mission. He's the best at his job. Actually meaning he's the best to fight for others. The best to save others.
Olivia is not that different. She's ready to do everything to find her fiancé. To rescue him. Because she needs answers... but not only for that.
By rescuing others they both are searching for more.
To help people to have what he never had.
To finally have what she never had.
"To be part of a family unit? To belong to others? TO... MATTER?"
This book is a little different from what Mia use to offer us. More steamy, more exotic, more adventurous.
But if you are a fan of the author, don't worry. As usual she reunites what i like to call two angels. Two angels with tough past, who both deserve so much better ... Two angels who will warm your heart. And maybe who will make you cry as i did (but not as much as we are used to with Mia).
Bonus:
* This book makes us travel.
* They met someone who will make you cry for sure.
* Mia reminds us that nature can be cruel but human can be too.
* The end will make you smile if you are a fan who read one of Mia's book :-D
So add it to your TBR and "bon voyage" in the jungle

Oh SEEK!!! Seek is a complex, compelling, and consuming romantic suspense. Scorching sexual tension meets blazing heat in one heart-pounding journey you’ll FEEL EVERYWHERE!!! Gritty. Sexy. Soft. Rough. Seek is one ENTHRALLING EXPLOSION of adrenaline and emotion!!!

What would it feel like to be ravaged by a warrior?

An eternal optimist and forever romantic, Livvy sees life as sunshine and rainbows while the muscular, former military man, Thomas sees more darkness and storms. Beautiful and brave Livvy sheds sunshine onto devastatingly handsome Thomas’ storm, light penetrating dark. The push and pull between the hero and heroine made me HEADY. Livvy and Thomas were MAGNETIC together and I LOVED THEM!!! Together, this hero and heroine were the PERFECT STORM.

”I’m no hero.”

I took this thrilling adventure right along with the hero and heroine. I wanted to solve this suspense. I wanted justice so hard that I could taste it. I felt Seek’s light shine through me while reading. I felt the dark too that DECIMATED MY EMOTIONS, a dark cloud over my soul threatening to storm. I was BOUND TO THIS BOOK and I couldn’t get enough!!!

Mia Sheridan takes a giant leap into romantic suspense in Seek, a story that is as touching as it is thrilling. This story is so daringly different from Mia Sheridan’s usual beautifully crafted poetic pieces. However, in Seek, Mia Sheridan still makes a beautifully broken character shine in a journey of heartbreak and healing.

I LOVED this spicy and stirring romantic suspense SO MUCH!!! Seek is a rush of heat and HEART-POUNDING PLEASURE!!! With its fast-paced plot spiked with unexpected twists and thrilling danger, flawless writing, and an explosive hero and heroine that ooze sparks and delicious sexual tension, Mia Sheridan‘s expertly written Seek satisfies on every level.

”I can’t live without you.”

Well... Hmmmmm... This book... I had no clue what it was about when I read it. You know me, I like to go in blind. Once I started it, I had no clue where Mia was going to take me on this journey.

I devoured this book in no time. Between the characters, the plot, the suspense, and the little twist, I was hooked. Well, the twist came much later, but I knew one was coming.

This book is so many things. Fun. Eye bulging (is a thing?). Suspenseful. Lustful. Romantic-ish. Heart pounding. Have I convinced you that I liked this one yet? If, for some reason, you are teetering on reading this one, I do recommend it. I don't think you could be disappointed.

4 stars!

When Olivia’s fiancé skips town, the PI she hires finds him in Colombia. After being ravaged by a deadly earthquake and then a tsunami, the area is now rough and risky. However, the danger won’t stop her from getting to him and she hires a guide to take her to Palomina. Thomas is a mystery and though Olivia is hesitant, she has no other option to accept his help if she wants to know the truth.

Seek is an intense, fast-paced, action packed story. There is excitement and suspense that will keep you on the edge of your seat and a beautiful romance that sneaks up on the characters.

Olivia is crushed when her fiancé disappears. She needs answers and even if they are not the ones she wants to hear, she refuses to give up on him. I love how determined Olivia is and even when she starts questioning her feelings, she still wants closure. As Thomas gets under her skin, I felt the confusion and guilt over her feelings. Her emotions are well written as is the change she goes through the more time she spends with Thomas. He lights a fire inside her consumes her. He opens her eyes to the things she doesn’t know she is missing and I loved watching her experience the new feelings he brings out in her.

Thomas is an ex-SEAL, badass hero with a huge heart and I loved him. He had a hard childhood that shaped his life and left him living as a loner. He doesn’t want to settle down and he isn’t looking for love. Much to his surprise, Olivia breaks down his walls and forces him to reevaluate his lifestyle. No matter how much he fights the pull he feels towards her, he can’t deny it. Being around Olivia made him experience feelings isn’t accustomed to, unveiling a vulnerability he hasn’t felt before.

"I watched her, something filling my chest. I didn’t like it. Lust…lust I could handle. But this…No. I sensed danger, my fight or flight hackles rising – only, this was different somehow. She threatened me in some way I couldn’t define and didn’t know how to defend myself against."

Thomas and Olivia are wonderful together. Their attraction is undeniable and the sexual tension is off the charts. I loved watching them tiptoe around their feelings only to explode when they finally give in.

“Don’t hold back with me, Thomas…I want it. I want you. All of you.”

The journey through Colombia is an adventure with dangers popping up at every turn. From the devastation of natural disasters to the evil that can live in people, they are threatened numerous times. When they finally get to their destination, there is a twist that is shocking and the turn of events happen quickly.

Overall, though Seek is much different than Mia Sheridan’s other books, it is no less entertaining and unique, and I enjoyed it immensely. Add in a cameo from one of Mia’s much loved characters and the ending was perfect.

When I first read the summary for Mia Sheridan’s latest novel, Seek, I was intrigued. A socialite hires a mercenary to take her to Colombia in search of her missing fiancé. I’m a huge fan of Mia Sheridan, and Seek is something that feels new and fresh for her: suspenseful, dark, gritty, but still highly emotional and moving.

Olivia Barton was engaged to Alec when he suddenly disappeared during a business trip. Olivia hires a private investigator, who informs her that Alec is currently in Colombia. But a recent earthquake and tsunami have devastated the country, and Olivia is convinced that Alec has no way to reach her. She hires a mercenary, Thomas, to take her to Colombia so that she can track down Alec and settle once and for all whether or not he left her willingly.

Self-assured, brooding Thomas is a mystery to Olivia, who makes an attempt to get to know him during their trip. Along the way, they realize how much they have in common: namely, painful childhoods and complicated families. This shared pain is coupled with several perilous situations in Colombia that bring Olivia and Thomas closer together.

As Thomas seeks to complete his mission to transport Olivia, she begins to question her relationship with Alec more and more...because she feels something for Thomas that she’s never experienced before. Something intense and real. Although Thomas feels it too, they continually attempt to resist their desires—and it turns out that there are many secrets to uncover before the trip is over.

In Seek, Olivia and Thomas both go on a journey, metaphorically and literally. Nothing is as it appears here and I loved the suspenseful tone that carries throughout the story. Also, the sexual tension between Olivia and Thomas is heightened with each moment of danger that they face.

Lastly, there’s a wonderful connection to some characters from one of Sheridan’s other books that I totally fangirled over. I don’t want to spoil who it is, but I was so happy when I saw this character again.

My heart ached for these characters, then cheered them on. Seek highlights many of the uglier, darker aspects of humanity—which makes it that much sweeter when Olivia and Thomas ultimately find happiness and love. I highly recommend this book.

I received an advance copy of this book from the author.

“You dream like I do. Only … you’re more selfless than I am, Thomas. You dream for others. You were once scared, alone.”

WOW WOW Mia! This is quite a surprise!!! When I heard Mia is having a surprise release next week I jumped at a chance to read it early and wow, this book blew me away. Seek is a short story but has all the feels, unique characters and an intense plot - something that we all come to expect from this author.

“Yeah, you. I’m assuming you have a heart under all that … muscle mass?”

Holy hell! This book is fast paced, steamy, intense and packed with twists and turns that will make your heart pound out of your chest. I could not put it down. Olivia was supposed to get married and live happily ever after, but her fiancé Alec suddenly disappeared. A private investigator revealed that Alec is currently hiding out in Colombia, a place riddled with crime after a devastating earth quake and the tsunami that followed. Columbia is unsafe - people live by their own rules. Olivia hired an ex-Seal Thomas to escort her through the treacherous and dangerous journey to find her fiancé. Thomas was supposed to be her employee and protector but somewhere along the way, feelings develop. Thomas and Olivia are polar opposites but the sexual chemistry is palpable, gritty, sexy and mouthwatering hot! Olivia is a rich girl who inherited an empire from her parents. Thomas is broody, cold, intimidating and a dangerous man. But are they that much different? Thomas and Olivia lives crossed paths, dark secrets were revealed and lord I did not see that one coming. Will Oliva find what she is looking for or will her heart break all over again?

“A part of me they couldn’t erase, no matter how hard they tired.”

Without spoiling too much, I can only say that Seek is quite a unique, steamy romance. It’s thrilling, and full of heart. I am moved by both Alec and Olivia and their heartbreaking past. The writing is brilliant as always. I can’t help but admire the author and her talent of storytelling – always coming up with such interesting stories. A fan of the author or not, I promise you will not be disappointed.

6 STARS!!!!!

Seek was a great surprise! Whenever I find out that this author is going to be releasing a new book, I instantly add it to my must-read list. This book came out of the blue, but as soon as I read the synopsis, well, let’s just say that it was just screaming my name. An angst-filled, grittier romantic suspense with all of the eloquent writing of Mia Sheridan’s – yes, please!

In order to not give anything away, I am going to be deliberately vague in this review. Trust me, go on this journey with these characters, you won’t be disappointed. While this book is shorter than her other books, it is still filled with all of the intensity, fantastic characters, and emotion that I have come to expect. It was a fast-paced read that was action-packed, exciting, and was overflowing with chemistry between the two main characters. For a shorter novel, it still provided a slow burning romance, building up the anticipation and allowing the attraction between the characters to develop at the perfect pace.

Olivia was willing to do whatever it took to try to find her fiancé. Lucky for her, she had the funds to hire a skilled, qualified man to help her navigate her way through the devastated, dangerous countryside of Colombia. Thomas exuded competence, strength, and masculinity. Despite her lack of knowledge about her guide, she found herself putting her trust in him. She needed to get to her fiancé, and Thomas was the man to get her there unscathed.

As I mentioned above, the chemistry between Olivia and Thomas was smoldering. Their journey was not a smooth one, and they encountered more than their share of dangerous situations. This only made their connection that much stronger. His need to protect her became more than just a job requirement, he wanted to keep her safe. There was a great push and pull between them. There was no denying their attraction, but neither one was in a position to succumb to this newfound desire.

This was an enjoyable, entertaining read from start to finish. I think I wanted answers almost as much as Olivia did. Seek was brimming with passion, thrills, and twists and turns that kept me eagerly flipping the pages.

Olivia Barton is emotionally tormented by the disappearance of soon to be husband. She doesn’t know what happened to him; he went on a routine business trip to Miami yet he vanished without a trace. Olivia is scared and wants answers so she hires a PI to help find her fiancée. Soon she is on the journey of her life and together with the PI, track her fiancée to a remote town in Columbia. Questions are bombarding Olivia as to what he is doing in Columbia but she is too worried and scared because she cant find her fiancée…on top of everything, a natural disaster has occurred and it’s a race against time to find him , to make sure he is alive or if he perished in the disaster. Olivia enlists the help of Thomas , a mercenary for hire and ex-Navy Seal, to be her guide and some would say protector through the treacherous Columbian terrain. They are thrown together thru many perilous situations and they will face several dangerous criminals while on their journey. It seemed as though Olivia was deliberately thawed from finding her fiancée at times. There are many ups and downs in this story, many emotional moments in this story . Olivia and Thomas grew closer and ended up having a passionate affair but will it lead to anything when Olivia’s main reason for being in Columbia was finding her missing fiancée ?
Stop the clock- A HUGE bombshell is dropped and it is not what I expected or could have seen coming. I literally had to go back and see if I missed any clues in this story and didn’t see this coming. I will say for huge die hard MS fans, you get a special treat from her and are surprised by a visit from someone special. As for the bombshell…well, there are several villains in this story and they are not necessary who you think they are. Will Thomas and Olivia get their HEA or will she go back to her fiancee? This was one great story full of intrigue, suspense, action and romance.

My Rating: 4.5 stars *****

This books was so unexpected! The twist and turns were something that I didn't see coming! Mia Sheridan brought us a suspenseful edge of your seat thriller that I was totally sucked in to. I love going into books blind and this book is why! I did not anticipate the story unfolding as it did. Seek is a book I would recommend for those looking for a thriller or a book they can read quickly.

Livvy's fiance has disappeared. Shortly before they were to be married, he went on a business trip never to return. She hired a private investigator who tracked him to Columbia and that is where the trail ends. Coming from a broken home, she knows what's like to not have someone care for you or not. She finally found someone she was in love with and she would be loyal to them until the end. She is determined to find him and spare no expense.

Thomas is a ex-Navy Seal who is a hired tracker. Livvy hires him to take her to Columbia to find her fiance. Columbia has just been hit by a strong earthquake an then tsunami that followed and the country is in ruins. Crime runs rampant in the already country that is already struggling. Thomas is a no nonsense kind of guy. Love is not in his cards, he travels the world doing jobs that may or may not be legal. To him they are just jobs, nothing more, nothing less.

Something about Livvy stirs feelings in him that he never expected. The need to protect her is overwhelming and unexpected. What trouble will they run into while searching for her fiance. If they find him what happens next? What happens to the chemistry that has been stirring between them since they've met? Will she be just a job to him or will they find something more? The twist and turns will have you guessing until the very end! It did for me! I would recommend reading Seek as it was a solid 4 stars for me!

SEEK
by Mia Sheridan

****4.5****

I have read all of Mia’s books and Seek has an element of trill and action that I haven’t seen in her other work. It was fantastic to get lost in this book. The story has as much action and suspense as it has passion and romance. Our characters have an amazing chemistry from the first encounter. They seen to be complete opposites since Thomas is all power, rugged, strong, brooding, dark, alpha and sexy as hell ex Navy Seal while Olivia( Livvy) is a rich, gorgeous, city, sophisticated young woman that has everything money can buy.

”He was dangerous, obviously used to the shadows, when I lived in the light.”

A wild adventure through Columbia to safe the life of Livvy’s fiancé will force this two to get to know each other and peal all those layers that hide both true selves. Thomas’s job will be to keep Livvy alive and safe in this dangerous travel. Livvy will finally get the answers she so desperate seeks while learning how strong she truly is. They both will finally understand the real meaning of LOVE.

“ love doesn't make you weak. Love makes you strong.”

Spark will fly and a MAYOR TWIST will leave you with your mouth hanging and possibly without nails. Also if you already read previous books by Mia you will get a yummy treat.

"Leave the moves to me, sweetheart."
If you love action, suspense, intrigue, mystery and sexy romance, then this is definitely the book for you! This author's unique style makes everything seem fresh. Mercenary Thomas is awesomely written, he is an alpha male but, he is often written to show the redeeming qualities behind his tough demeanor. Olivia is also a well developed character. She is strong, loyal, independent but a bit naïve and always with good intentions.
The author did a brilliant job in writing a plot that was gripping and captivating. There was a surprising twist to why Olivia’s fiancé had disappeared; I was very surprised about his conspiracies. The story was engaging, and I was wrapped up trying to solve it along side the characters.
Suspense and chemistry abound throughout this novel. Mia Sheridan grabbed my attention and held it throughout. I could barely put this one down!

This book was such a wonderful surprise because it was so unexpected. I had no idea this book was in the works. It’s a bit different than Mia’s typical books. It felt a little grittier but I loved every minute of it. It’s the perfect size for a weekend read but it packs a really emotional wallop.

The characters of Livvy Barton and Thomas seemed so different in the beginning that I wondered how the story would develop and how Mia Sheridan would pull it off. Well, never underestimate the talent of a good author. She wove her words and tightly knitted these characters together in the most emotional way. Olivia and Thomas are completely suited and they both filled the gaping holes in each other left by a less than idyllic childhood. I adored Olivia’s optimism that burned bright throughout the book. Her optimism was the perfect foil for a sometimes cynical and hardened Thomas. Thomas needed someone like Livvy to smooth out his rough edges and melt the ice around his heart.

The story had some amazing twists that took my breath away and the ending left me completely sated. Watch out for a beautiful surprise appearance of one of my beloved characters.?. Too many feels...too many feels.?❤️

4 “Find” Stars

Something a bit different from this author and I really enjoyed it! Plus that little Easter Egg from her Sign of Love series made me smile so big and want to do another reread.

Seek followed Olivia as she set off on a search to find her missing fiancé. She hired Thomas to take her to Columbia the last place that her PI located the man she is supposed to marry. But having been recently ravaged by more than one natural disaster, the trip is not easy. As Thomas and Olivia travel, she finds something in the closed off man that she’s not found before. And what happens when she gets to the place to wanted to go and nothing is as it seems. Rules are broken, hearts smashed and the journey treacherous.

This story was a bit grittier than the author’s other works but it was no less engaging. It was maybe a bit steamier too. The connection between the characters sizzled and the suspense believable. It was a bit shorter and wrapped up a bit too quickly for my liking but overall was a spicy, suspenseful, quick read by one of my favorite authors.

“Love doesn’t make you weak. Love makes you strong.”

Mia Sheridan can do no wrong. I've read and loved almost all of her books and Seek has to be her most different work to date. And I couldn't put it down. I stayed up until 3am reading and it was worth all the horrible moments this Monday morning. Seek was a fast paced, action packed, steamy novel. I was biting my nails and my heart was in my throat. This was unlike anything I've read by Mia. I never knew that I could be as shocked as I was when I reading this book. I mean the last half of the book? I did NOT see any of that coming. And there was the most amazing surprise as well at the ending.

"She was sunshine. Warm and bright, too sweet for this cruel, dirty world. Too good."

Thomas and Livvy had some serious chemistry. From the beginning, you could just feel it as if you were watching them in front of you. And it was hot as hell! I hope that she continues to write more books like this in the future. I will one-click them faster than you can blink.

I loved loved loved this contemporary romance from Mia Sheridan. Lots of action, some suspense and a twist or two to add into the mix. From the first page I was hooked, I wanted to breath, eat and sleep Thomas and Olivia. I loved Thomas, a true alpha hero who seemed to bring out the best in Livvie, I loved their interactions and the mutual respect they had for each other. Livvie was brave, had principles and was willing to do anything for those she loved, sadly her sweet trusting nature meant she was taken advantage of a lot throughout her life Beautifully written in dual POV I could picture the whole story clearly, it was a perfect movie playing in my head, and the chemistry between these two characters was sizzling. A story I did not want to end.

The exotic wilds of Colombia provides background for the perfect place for an adventure-mystery with some serious tension and suspense in Mia Sheridan's latest romance.

So many amazing twist and turns that will keep you turning the pages to see just how the heroine Livvy fares in the remote parts of the jungle and natural disaster affected countryside with her mercenary for hire Brody Thomas. The sexual tension practically leaps off the page like the heat rising through the rain forest between these two.

>I was so completely drawn into this story that I was up to over 60 percent in this book before I knew it. Fast pace and well developed plot makes this one a quick read. You will not want to put it down.

Thrilled to deliver a 5 stars recommendation for Seek

While she is determined to find answers for Alec's disappearance, she is prepared for heartbreak. Though Thomas isn't initially invested in the outcome, he starts view Livvy in a different light based on her resolve.

Told in dual POV, Livvy and Thomas come from different backgrounds, but their commonalities create a bond. Understanding what they endured, adds dimension to each character in that there is empathy and the mixed emotion of how they will move forward. Feeling their chemistry, Thomas exudes so much raw male strength and sexual energy that it is palpable and completely relatable when Livvy sneaks a peek at him and ultimately acts on her urges. With pending tension of the unknown, surrendering to the moment is all they agree to have.

From the beginning, I liked Thomas and how his past and present actions defined his character. With Livvy, initially I was worried that she would be a snob but very quickly it becomes clear that she isn't defined by money but rather her heart and a deep need to protect. I admired her tenacity and willingness to take the journey despite knowing the consequences of such closure.

With a twisty reveal at the end, the plot and characters come full circle. This author's writing style is always engaging, as she has a precise ability to combine emotion and vulnerabilities with added self-reflection and inner strength.

For those looking to read a romantic suspense with worthy characters and an introspective journey, I recommend Seek.

Olivia Barton and her hired guide/protector, Thomas, couldn’t be more different…at least that’s his initial perception when it comes to the woman he’s agreed to take into the ruined and dangerous parts of Colombia. But first impressions tend to be wrong…or at least skewed and so as these two strangers spend copious amounts of time together alone and off the grid, both Olivia and Thomas realize that there’s more to the other than what their appearances say.

Olivia may come from money, but it’s clear that it doesn’t define her. All of her life, she has felt unimportant to the people who she was supposed to matter most to, and for that very reason, she needs answers from Alec, the man she thought she was going to spend the rest of her life with…she needs to understand his disappearance and the reasons her private investigator found him in Colombia

But while Olivia seeks those answers, she also finds herself seeking something else…something she can’t quite describe because she’s never felt the way she does in Thomas’ presence before, and while she’s looking for the man she was supposed to marry, she’s finding herself attracted to a man who clearly lives in the shadows…one who has a certain set of principles that Olivia may not like or even understand and while that scares her…more than anything, it makes exploring these newfound feelings almost essential because in the midst of their unknown and dangerous adventure, a spark has ignited between them and regardless of the mitigating factors of their journey, it won’t be denied, no matter what they don’t know about each other or what Thomas’ end game seems to be.

Seek is the perfect title for Olivia and Thomas’ story, and even though the title points to the specific task of finding Livvy’s ex-fiance, its meaning moves far beyond that surface level idea and speaks to even more complicated situations, namely seeking the truth amidst the lies…finding the strength within despite the fear…learning that sometimes hurting others is for the greater good.

Thomas is definitely a man of mystery, so it was nice getting his perceptive as his and Olivia’s journey takes them further into darkness and danger. He has his reasons for holding back from her, and it’s clear that there’s more to Thomas’ job as Olivia’s guide, but that information doesn’t come until the end of their trip, which means that readers and Olivia don’t learn the truth until things have already progressed too far and new realizations have been made.

One thing I particularly appreciated was the way Olivia accepted or maybe the better word is understood Thomas’ vigilante justice…there is always a gray area when it comes to right/wrong…good/bad and it’s that middle ground that Thomas finds himself on many occasions and while doing things for the greater good may be a necessary evil, he also makes those decisions keeping in mind that sometimes, the innocent may be worth protecting as well when it comes to the big picture, not only for the world but for Thomas himself.

I love and appreciate the fact that Mia Sheridan went outside of her comfort zone for her newest release. There’s a certain risk to venturing out of the norm, especially when it comes to romance writers, but she definitely proved her versatility in this steamy, suspenseful, and adventurous tale, and I, for one, would follow Ms. Sheridan into any genre or trope because it’s her writing and storytelling that always brings me back.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this publication.

Hearing there was a surprise new release from one of my favorite authors had me beaming with excitement. I love getting lost in Mia Sheridan's worlds and could not wait to dive into this read. The synopsis piqued my curiosity by promising a faster, steamier and grittier contemporary romance, and boy did it deliver. Seek undoubtedly was a sizzling, action-packed story that I devoured in just one sitting. It held true to this author's writing style ~ edgy story-line chock full of angst, suspense, heaps of passion and dynamic characters. However, this was a slight departure from the norm when it came to the "feels."

After months of worry, Olivia is determined to find her estranged fiancee (who mysteriously vanished in Columbia) with the help of a mercenary for hire, Thomas. As they make their way through the jungle, they find something entirely different ~ an undeniable attraction. The mission becomes more than tracking her lost boyfriend; it evolved into a journey of discovering the truth, overcoming past sorrows, forgiveness and finding true love.

I adore romances involving broken souls and their struggle to heal, and this couple survived their fair share of heartache. There were some touching moments peppered throughout the story, the most poignant being the few glimpses into Thomas' painful childhood. (The prologue showing the horrible circumstances a young Thomas endured seriously had me all teary-eyed). Aside from those particular scenes, I did not have a deep emotional connection with the characters, and part of me missed the gripping, soul-shattering feeling Sheridan usually invokes. Her romances have a beautiful way of ravaging me; breaking my heart into a million tiny pieces, only to slowly glue me back together in the end. That experience was less intense during this read. Regardless, the story was well written and addicting. This couple had great sexual chemistry. And watching them fall in love as layers of deceptions, mysteries and plot twists unraveled had me on edge from beginning to end.

All in all a shorter yet enjoyable, fast-paced read from Sheridan and as always, looking forward to her next romance.

So... a while ago I bought this book but, unfortunately, life happens and I was only able to read it now. Guess better late than never, right? :) Anyway, I love Mia Sheridan's books. I've read them all and there's not one that I didn't truly enjoyed (ones more than others, but that's not the point). So, I was expecting the same "quality" found on her other books in this one. Sorry to say I was quite disappointed :/

Olivia is the rich girl whose parents died a while ago. She was engaged to Alec but he disappeared and never got back. Since she doesn’t know what happened to him, she hires a PI to find out. And the only thing she learns is that he's trapped in Colombia, since the city he was, was struck by an earthquake and, later, a tsunami. So now she wants to go there to either rescue him or, at least, to have some closure. The PI she hired puts out a word that she's looking for someone to take her there and she finds one man crazy enough to be up to this adventure.

And so, she and Thomas goes to Colombia and the story will evolve from that. Of course, as any other romance story, these two will start feeling things for one another, but can't act on it. She will start second-guessing her relationship with Alec and he will start feeling the need to protect and do stuff for her that aren't on his job description.

As you can see, the story itself is pretty cliché, but that don't bother me if the hole plot is pretty wrapped up or there's a good cliffhanger. Unfortunately, this book doesn’t have either of those. There's an attempt of turning the story around but it doesn't work. It's too predictable, too simple.

Seek was OK but not even close of what I was expecting from Mia. #sorrynotsorry

PS: There's a cameo at the end of the book that really surprised me. That was about the only thing I trully enjoyed.

I LOVE MIA SHERIDAN. I do, I really do. Seek is a love story with a swoony alpha-male and a sweet and caring heroine. Our heroine, Olivia (aka Livvy), goes on a mission to find her fiance in Columbia with the help of the mysterious and dangerous Thomas. Since the country was just hit with a tsunami and earthquake, it isn't exactly the safest place to be.

There we so many heart-pounding moments in this story! It was filled with suspense, danger, and the connection between Livvy and Thomas was hot as hell! These two had a connection right from the start and it never felt forced or rushed.

I will say that sometimes I forgot about the fact that Livvy was looking for her beloved fiance. At times it felt like he was just a plot device used to get our two main characters stuck together in a 'dangerous area.' Although her 'insta-lust' with Thomas was believable, I felt that her acting upon it so quickly and freely without much thought about her fiance was a little bit out of character for her. She was a woman who was risking her own life to find the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with and it would have been nice to see him cause a little more of an internal conflict in Livvy. Livvy thinking about her fiance more often also would have helped the fact that his existence at times felt unnecessary.

Having said that, this book ripped my heart out! I couldn't read it fast enough! Mia Sheridan knows how to tell a great and engaging love story that keeps you on the edge of your seat! Thomas has been added to my list of book boyfriends! He had just enough mystery and danger to make him sexy and win readers' hearts without making me want to roll my eyes. I hate when authors overdo it with the I'm A Dangerous No Good Man With A Tragic Backstory thing. This author gave us just enough to keep us interested.

Mia Sheridan is one of my favorite authors and this book just reminded me why. Read it read it read it!!!

SEEK is a surprise release from Mia Sheridan unrelated to her Sign of Love novels. It’s suspenseful, gritty, romantic, and definitely a nice twist away from the norm.

Livvy and Thomas are brought together after she hires him to help her find her fiancé in disaster-ridden Colombia. They’re traveling remotely and realize there’s more to their relationship than just professionalism.

This book was a short, slow-burn that was fun to read. As much as I wanted this to be a page turner however, I found myself putting the book down more often than I’d like to. It was full of twists and turns as well as some humor and heat. I do feel like I needed a little more to their relationship in the end. Maybe we’ll get more from Mia in another surprise release? We’ll see.

When Olivia finds her fiancée disappeared on an apparent business trip, she hires a private investigator to find his whereabouts. It’s quite the shock to hear he’s been found in earthquake and tsunami ravished Columbia. Unable to sit idle and wonder if he’s dead or alive, she hires Thomas, ex Navy Seal, to personally escort her through this unsafe terrain to find her fiancée. But just what she plans to find is the question....

I pretty much didn’t put this book down for the first 75%. It didn’t feel near as typical “Mia Sheridan-ish” as I’ve experienced before. Her books, often heavy on emotion, this book seemed much more suspenseful with a definite mysterious feel to it. What would Olivia find when she stumbles upon her fiancé Alec? Why did he disappear? To add a bit more zing to the plot, Olivia and Thomas have quite the...chemistry. Seemingly different on the outside- her a wealthy businesswoman, he a tough-as-nails undercover...’bodyguard,’ both characters have dealt with their own fair share of childhood horror stories yet both characters choosing to live their adult lives differently due to those far-from-healed scars. But maybe, with patience and understanding, they can be the balm to each other’s broken souls.

I devoured everything about this story except a twist I wasn’t expecting. Once it was later explained, I understood it better but I still didn’t all-together buy into it. But all in all, I love anything this woman writes and I was happy to see her venture a little more into the suspenseful side of romance!

What can you say about Mia Sheridan’s books besides absolute perfection and Seek is no different. I was so entranced and enthralled with this book that when I finished it I had to just let myself soak it up for a couple days. I even forgot to put on Goodreads that I had finished it!!!! Then I automatically wanted to reread it again!!! And I know that I could reread this book over and over again. It has that mysterious romantic danger vibe going on and while you are on the edge of your seat you are pulling for this to happen or that to happen. Ugh just absolute utter perfection and I highly highly recommend this book!!!! It deserves so many more stars than just 5!!! - By Tina

This book was a happy, fast-paced, action packed surprise!

Seek is a short book, so things move very quickly and sometimes played out a little predictably for me. But then just when I would think I knew where this was headed, there were turns I didn't see coming which brought me right back into the excitement of the reading experience and held me captive while Thomas and Livvy's story unfolded.

In all, a delightful, and unexpected treat. A sweetly emotional ending. And an exciting, steamy love story. What more could you ask for?! Definitely a recommended way to kill a few hours, and guaranteed to leave you with a giant smile on your face!

I just finished Seek by Mia Sheridan and once again, she has not disappointed! I absolutely devoured this story, and loved every single second of it!

Seek is a story about finding love in the most inconvenient circumstances, betrayal, and finding forgiveness. It was a suspenseful, intriguing, action packed love story, and I completely fell in love with Thomas and Livvy's story.

Seek had me guessing and on the edge of my seat the entire time, and when we got to the ending, I was not expecting that at all! The only thing I was a bit bummed about was the fact that the story wrapped up extremely quickly. I was happy with the ending, it just left me wanting to know more, to see more.

Other then that, this story was absolutely amazing, and I would love to see more books like this from this author!

I liked this story for the most part. Olivia has hired a guide to take her through tsunami and earthquake torn Columbia to search for her missing fiancé. The guide, Thomas, is gruff and secretive and rough around the edges but ultimately he's still a stand up guy.

Their attraction is undeniable. So much so it makes Olivia question her relationship. I liked the reveal at the end. It added to the drama but I wish some scenes were more detailed. I hate when authors use a conk on the head, fade to black, boom everything is fine. Then explain later what happened rather than letting us see for ourselves. It felt too rushed and too tidy. But the cameo at the end made me smile. If you're in the mood for a quick adventure on a rainy day you could do worse.

Seek is a story of adventure, sex, lies, action, intrigue, betrayal and temptation. It is absolutely one of the best books I have read in a while. I do not give out too many 5 star reviews, but this is, without a doubt, worthy. The story takes place in Columbia when Livvy hires Thomas to help her find her fiancé that has disappeared. The story is pretty straight forward until it's not. There are so many twists and turns, it will keep you guessing right up until the end. It is on the shorter side for a novel, so it doesn't take long to fly through the pages.

The sexual chemistry between Livvy and Thomas literally jumps off the page at you and while they try to fight it, it only becomes more intense.

This is definitely an unique adventure story that you should definitely check out!!

Brooding Brody Thomas what's not to love. His rough tough ex-military dominance shining through at every opportunity, I'd pay to get lost in the jungle with you.

Another solid book by Mia, a little less emotional and angsty compared to previous novels, but a solid swoon worthy romance, that rocks another swoon worthy hero.

I really enjoyed the stories concept and content, however, I found myself looking at the % left of books dwindling down rapidly before they'd even reached Palomino, I thought the ending was too rushed and crammed into a few pages, when I had hoped it would have been played out longer, given the struggles they encountered reaching their destination. For me personally it just feel flat at the end, which I why I couldn't give it the full 5 stars.

I could not put this book down. It has everything- the romance and passion we know and love from Mia, along with adventure and mystery intertwined to keep you on your seat. Many unexpected twists and turns along the way. Livvy might be my favorite Mia heroine yet. Her heart and courage are just amazing. And Thomas... oh, Thomas.... will you marry me?! This was beautifully written and I could picture every scene as if I were there myself. A+ on this one Mia. You never disappoint.

There were some twists and turns in this book that left me guessing, and it is rare that I'm surprised in a book. I knew something was hinky...but I couldn't figure out what. Great storyline, and I loved the characters. Livvy was a brave girl who was going after what she wanted, and Thomas was a tormented soul trying to make things right from his past. Great steamy combo when they collide.

Reality versus perception.
Olivia hires a man who will take her to Colombia. She is going there to locate her fiancé, Alec. He disappeared two months ago when he was allegedly in Miami. So, she is determined to know what is happening because he was not as honest as she thought.
I loved it!As the story keeps on, you know that there is something off. Something will happen once they get to Palomino, the village where Alec is supposed to be. But still, I was surprised.
Wonderful twist in the plot, amazing characters. And of course, awesome Mia Sheridan.

Olivia's fiancé has been missing for two months now. She doesn't know if something happened to him or if he just ... left. His business was in some kind of trouble and he lied to her about it, but they were still kinda happy. Getting ready to plan the wedding. Livvy needs to know the truth. That's why she hires Thomas to travel with her to Colombia to find him. Because Colombia is where the PI she hired traced her fiancé to.

Thomas is the guy for hire. He does that professionally, but he is also using Olivia for his own purposes. We just don't know what they are - yet.
What we do know is that he didn't have the best childhood. He grew up hated in his uncle's household - being called a half-breed.
But he'll never let people like his uncle beat him down again. He's his own boss now. People should be scared of him.
But he's also scared. Scared of falling for this beautiful, rich lady who hired him. He doesn't do love! He can't afford to get distracted from his mission.

What will happen with Livvy and Thomas in the jungle? Will they find Alec? Does he want to be found?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT!

I really enjoyed this book!
I LOVED the cover and you just HAVE to read a new Mia Sheridan book as soon as you can get your hands on it!

I loved Thomas! He's so adorable. So manly. So hot. So broken, sad, lonely. I just wanted to jump into the book and hug him. (only hug? pffft yeah! ☺☺☺)

And Livvy is adorable too. The mega-rich girl looking for a guy that might not want to be found. But she needs closure.

The sparks are mega-flying between Livvy and Thomas. But of course nothing can happen, right? She's engaged and he's a... whatever he is. But of course things happen. And we love reading every single minute of their story!

And we also can't stop reading because we just NEED to find out what happened with Alec!!!

The only thing that bothered me a little about the book ... I had a bit of an early 2000's feeling while reading. Maybe I just read too many Navy SEAL and other Romantic Suspense book 10-15 years ago. Books that very often took the reader to South America with an ex soldier and a damsel in distress to be rescued or something like that.
That's not at all Mia's fault - but it just reminded me of all the books I've read ages ago. BUT - I also loved reading those books - so I didn't mind much! ☺

►► SEEK was a really adorable & exciting & moving romance!

It was also very hot! As in Thomas is obviously mega hot, but also the weather would SO NOT be my thing. Humid jungle heat is the worst!☺☺☺ But it definitely makes for a very sexy jungle romance! ☺

Also, Mia said there will be a tiny little connection to the Sign of Love series - and I was really afraid of missing it - due to my #BookAlzheimers - BUT I GOT IT!!! It wasn't overlookable at all if you've read all of Mia's books - but don't worry - if you haven't read the other books, you won't even notice - it's not important to the story! ☺

"She was sunshine. Warm and bright, too sweet for this cruel, dirty world. Too good."

What a beautiful contemporary romance by the amazing Mia Sheridan. This author is one of my favorites and I would read anything she writes. So when out of nowhere she announced Seek would release soon, I couldn't wait to get my hands on the book. This book is about Olivia (Livvy) and Thomas. Livvy hires Thomas to get her to a seaside town in Colombia. She needs him to get her safely there. I loved that the book was mainly set in Colombia, I haven't read many books set in South-America so it was refreshing.

"You dream like I do. Only... you're more selfless than I am, Thomas. You dream for others."

Thomas is very closed off and is focused on the job. Livvy is just a sweetheart and that was obvious right off the bat. The prologue showed a piece of Thomas' past, and that scene broke my heart. It gives the reader an insight into why Thomas is the way he is. Throughout their trip in Colombia these two become closer and an attraction grows. I loved seeing their attraction develop, and the dual POV really helped me getting to know both of them better. Even though they seem the opposite, there are things they can both relate to. There were a couple of plot twists, of which I predicted some. My heart broke for Livvy when the truth was out in the open.

"The dim yellow glow bathed Livvy in shadows and pale yellow light, made her look ethereal, a goddess with flowing hair and alabaster skin. Even the moon loved her. How could it not?"

The author did such an incredible job in telling the story and the characters were great. I loved them both so much, and seeing them coming together was just beautiful. They both deserved to be happy after everything they went through. Their love making was so passionate and emotional, I just felt and believed everything. Seek exceeded my expectations and I didn't want this book to end. I wish there was an extra chapter or two focusing on the future, because the epilogue wasn't enough for me. I would love a novella focusing on Livvy and Thomas OR another stand-alone focusing on Thomas' friend Josh. I highly recommend this book: It was emotional, romantic, suspenseful, heartwarming and more. Readers who have enjoyed previous books by Mia will love this one as well.

There are 2,273 synonyms for the word great! All of which are composed of 26 letters. So as I sit attempting to write a review for Seek and thinking there are not enough words to describe the “greatness” that is Mia Sheridan, realization sinks in. If she can create masterpieces with those 26 letters, and a bit of punctuation than surely I can praise her brilliance using the same.

In “Seek” as always Mia gives us touching characters. Characters with a soul that are flawed by the everyday struggles of life as we all are. This time she brings them to us in the most unusual settings. In the jungles of South America. In the heart of the ghetto. Through fast-paced, adrenaline-pumping adventures. Through lies, betrayal, pain, lust, and suspense. Oh, and let’s not forget about the sex in the heat of the marshlands.

Olivia is kind. Her heart sees the good in people (even when sometimes it is not really there) and she follows her heart no matter where it may lead. But don’t allow the tenderness to overshadow the fierceness. Because no matter how tender you make think Olivia is there is a fierceness to her that will rival any lion, a determination to her that supersedes any heroine we've read about and a lack of fear that would rival Goliath.

Thomas is a man. Sometimes that is enough said, but in his case . . . no! He is complicated, brooding and aloof. Simply put . . . he’s broken. Instead of fixing the broken pieces, he chooses to spread them from one end of the world to the other in hopes of losing himself. But no matter how far he goes there is always someone to ground him.

With “Seek”, Mia once again shows us she can go anywhere. We expect actors to be versatile in their abilities. To portray characters that are different, to step outside the norm at times. Mia brings all that as a storyteller. She has the unique gift of giving us the ordinary in unordinary situations and she does it better than any author in the game. “Seek” keeps the tradition going.

As always for you Mia, the maximum amount of five stars allowed to give.

This was pretty good! It’s really short, kind of a novella, but it’s a very fast paced book. There was a lot happening in the beginning but it was a little boring. Halfway through was when it really picked up. I really loved the ending. The twist could have been developed more but overall it was really good. Given how short the book is, I really believed Liv and Thomas’ love for each other. Really good read. If it was longer and move developed it had the potential to be a great story.

Olivia Barton is a beautiful, elegant woman living in Las Vegas. She was adopted as a child by a wealthy family, & has led a somewhat privileged life. She’s engaged to be married, and thinks she’s about to have everything she’s ever wanted. Then her fiancé Alec disappears, and she begins to question how well she actually knew him. She fears he had secrets, but she needed some answers, or she’d always wonder. Committed to fighting for him, or at least getting closure, Livvy decides she will head to the last place her PI tracked him to, a small oceanside town called Palomino, that’s on the Caribbean Coast in Columbia.

Livvy hires a former Navy SEAL named Thomas who is a mercenary/ soldier for hire, who mostly does contract work for the government. His job is to safely get her to Palomino, & help her locate her missing fiancée. She’s unfamiliar with the dangerous area full of crime, and doesn’t speak the language. Thomas will be her guide and protection in a foreign country.

Thomas initially thinks he’s going to be backpacking through the jungle with a prissy, city girl. He soon learns Livvy has a kind heart, and is stronger than she looks. He’s trying to keep things professional and focus on the job, but he’s extremely attracted to his client. He’s taken responsibility for her on this five day journey, and can’t afford for things to get personal.

Livvy is insanely attracted to her intense, gorgeous guide. Thomas is slowly opening up to her, and she’s seeing a new side to this tough, closed off man that she really likes. The sexual tension grows till they finally can’t fight it anymore. Everything suddenly changes between them as feelings develop, and real connections are made.

This was a fantastic story full of action, intrigue, secrets, lies, love, and explosive chemistry. There were lots of twists & turns, and it was an exciting, sexy read. Really enjoyed this one!

I was intrigued with this book from the beginning but felt it lost it's edge towards the end. It is a complete standalone, written in Olivia and Thomas's POV. There was a rather sensitive issue I didn't care for but was glad the author did not go further in to the scene. Thomas was dark and mysterious which instantly made me want to learn more about it. I thought the author put a great twist in the book for Olivia.

Total perfection as only Mia can write. Olivia feels like a jilted bride so she does what any woman would do and hires a mercenary to guide her to South America to find her missing groom.

Thomas is not all he seems. Sure he is a tough as nails former Seal but there is a lot more going on under the surface. These two have instant and combustible chemistry. But something is just not what it seems.

This story is fast paced and I read it in just one setting. I could not put it down. Mia has managed to weave an amazing pulse pounding thrill ride with a totally surprising twist. Loved it!
