My sister recommended these books, mainly because the first book was on special price. I ended up purchasing the whole series- which was for a great price. So, for the price, it is a good read. I was looking to satisfy my reading "tooth" after finishing Harry Potter and Alchemyst series. Books were good enough to keep me going, but not something that I would re-read. I will definitely have my children these series though!

This first book in the Magemother series was a fun fantasy that was filled with hope and adventure. One cool aspect of this book that I loved was how this fantasy world was connected to earth or “ert!” As soon as Brinely entered Aberdeen I was fascinated to see how she will adapt with a place filled with unique animals, monsters, and magic.
Having very few characters really helped me get to grow with these people and even adapt to them. Brinley was probably the most relatable because she was a little bit shy and felt that she needed to be invisible. Her journey to accepting the role she was meant to have, and opening up, was really nice and by the end she had developed into an entirely new person. Hugo, Tabitha, the witches, and the seven mages were all very well developed and exciting to read!
This book was actually a GREAT book. There was nothing I found boring or confusing. It took me a while to start reading it but as soon as I delved into the book I was able to read 50% of the book in a day. I feel that this book is underappreciated and I hope that it will become the next popular book series! Everyone needs to read this book!!!

Picked this up for free looking for something to read with my 10yo that wouldn't have me wishing I was doing something else. As a fan of Phillip Pullman type fantasy (all ages means all ages) I was happily surprised by this series. Great characters, interesting plot, good vs evil with a touch of quirkiness. Where others try and fail, Bailey champions!! I've read 1&2, headed for the novella now. Why haven't you bought them yet?

The story in this book is really quite wonderful. I only wish it had been written better. It has so much potential, but I almost stopped reading several times. I'm not sure if the writer just tried to write down to children's level instead of writing for them or if they just didn't quite know how to wrangle the correct pace for an adventure. But if you can get past that, it's an enjoyable read that made me smile and I look forward to reading the next in the series. I hope the writing improves for that one.

In my opinion this was not well written the characters names were not very well thought out. It could have been much better with more thought and execution while writing the book. Very confusing for the reader.

The writing in this book was disconnected. It jumped from scene to scene, with either no explanation, or a vague explanation coming after the event. It is also too juvenile for YA. Most of it was cliche, too. I barely made it to my three chapters before DNFing rule. Pretty cover, though.

This is the first book in the three book Magemother series by Austin Bailey. I bought the three-book set on a super Kindle deal. Brinley lives in Colorado where she feels invisible. It is not long before the virtually invisible girl becomes a literally invisible girl in a fantasy world after she is summoned by a magic bell that only she can hear. I loved the concept of the summoning bells. Brinley is a likable heroine who gets swept into war and intrigue in a fantasy world. The story is interesting and well told. The good guys are good, and the bad guys are not, so values are clear. There were many things that I liked about the journey as we follow Brinley and learn about the new fantasy world and watch her mature and step up to the enormous challenges. There are battles and heroic moments. There are real threats ahead and interesting plot threads that are foreshadowed. I would give it 4 and a half stars if I could.

The story was well written and captivating. Enough so, that even the younger people will be enthralled. I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. It was definitely a book that I didn’t put down until I finished it.

This book is fantastic! Very well written! I read it to my daughter who is 10 and we both really enjoyed it! I'm not much of a fantasy reader but the characters in this book really come alive and make you want to keep reading! Highly recommend for children and adults!
