This book is adorable and it will help to stave off the fear of monsters in younger children. In this book the monsters are hard at work to have a party for the neighborhood children on Halloween. Overall adorable book!

Very cute Halloween story that reads just like The Night Before Christmas. Both of my kids loved the story as well and they now want me to get the rest of the books like it. I should also add that this book is not scary in any way. I recommend this book for all children who enjoy Halloween.

i ordered this late but it was delivered promptly, before Halloween. The story is just right for the intended audience. My niece took it to her son's school and read it to the class. Now that is really an endorsement! I definitely recommend it.

This book has a very cute story. My 3 year old niece will love it! Her birthday is right before Halloween :)...Although, I thought the price was a little high for a short story paperback. But it was b/c of the added shipping costs (which are slightly over-priced-$4 dollars). But it was worth it. Because I looked at Borders and it was over $20 dollars compared to $8. So, thank you.

This book is part of a series and they are ALL great books! My daughter loved the rhyming, after a few times reading it she knows a lot of the lines. And the best part there is a book for almost every holiday and special occasion.

I read this aloud to a class of first graders and they enjoyed the fun ryhming text and colorful illustrations. They were familiar with the similar Christmas story, so were interested in seeing how the Halloween version would play out. My very young grandson loves the story and pictures, too!

I bought this and The Night Before Thanksgiving for my nephew. He LOVES both and so do I. I grew up reading The Night Before Christmas so I think I loved these even more than he does! They are very cute and child appropraite! Very colorful pictures. I am about to buy more for all of the different holidays!

I purchased this for a four-year-old boy whose birthday is a month before Halloween.
It is a rhyming take-off on the Night Before Christmas.
For example,
"When what to their curious eyes should loom,
but a wicked old witch holding a broom.
Her cape -- how it shimmered!
Her face -- oh, how scary!
Her hat was so pointy,
it frightened the fairy."

Much the same rhythm and rhyme of the Night Before Christmas, this is a delightful book especially for the minds and imagination of younger kids. Not scary but delightfully written. Can be read each Halloween for many Octobers to come.

My 4 year old is OBSESSED with halloween, so trust me - we've read just about every halloween picture book and early chapter book that we can get our hands on.
"The Night Before Halloween", is told in the same rhyming verse as "The Night Before Christmas" story; and follows the monsters as they prepare for Halloween. The verse is easy for kids to follow and the illustrations are colorful and detailed. This book has become a quick favorite for us to read at bedtime.
I would absolutely recommend adding this to your Halloween book list. Also check out "Room on the Broom" by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler - this is another of our favorites this year.

My 2 1/2 year old just loves Halloween. He was born Oct. 28th so he's definitely a Halloween baby and he loves everything to do with the holiday including seeing pumpkins, bats and spiders. This delightful book by Natasha Wing is a Halloween takeoff on "Twas the Night Before Christmas" following the same pattern except that in this book various ghouls and goblins are preparing for Halloween and for the children who will soon be knocking at their front door. The Illustrations by Cynthia Fisher perfectly fit the fun tone and pace of the book and my little loves reading this one over and over...

My daughters (age 2 and 4) love this book, and so do I. It is based on the Christmas poem "Twas the Night Before Christmas," and this adds to the fun. The verses rhyme, but it does not feel stretched at all.
The book shows monsters and trick-or-treaters alike preparing for Halloween, then celebrating Halloween in their own fun ways. The pictures are great. I am impressed with this book and recommend it.

My son (3 1/2 years old) and I love all the books in this series. I first heard of the series when my son was given The Night before Summer Vacation by his preschool teacher. My son loves Halloween and this books was a big hit.
Natasha Wing follows the style of the famous Night Before Christmas by Clement Clarke Moore and the product is very well done: both melodious and funny. It follows monsters getting ready for Halloween and then kids on Halloween day. The illustrations are very cute too.
In short, this book is very affordable, well written and well illustrated. A must have in any library.

I bought this book along with 10 timid ghosts. This one was for my daughter who was 6 yrs old at the time. Both my kids (my son was 5) loved this book and still read it all the time. Its a fun book to get kids introduced to Halloween so they wont be scared with all the older trick or treaters.

My two-year old son and I love this book. It's nice that they kept the original form of the classic poem, but put a new spin on it for the different holidays and milestone occasions. The story is really cute too! I will buy the rest of the collection.

My 3 year old son and I absolutely love this book. It is our favorite Halloween book (and we have quite a few). It has the essence of Halloween from the monster perspective as well as a child's trick-or-treating perspective down pat.

Who can forget "The Night Before Christmas"? Well, now you can have the same amount of fun with "The Night Before Halloween". It's a delightful rhyming book that guides children through fun ghost, goblins and little children preparing for trick or treating. My little boy loved it. We've read it over and over, and it'll be a great book we pull out every Halloween!
