So you all might remember Cannon from past Lori Foster’s books, well now he is back with his own story! And boy what a story it is.
So Cannon has just arrived back in town after a very tough MMA match, only to find himself summoned to the attorney for Tipton Sweeny. There he finds out not only that Tipton has passed, but he has been left a legacy along with Tipton's granddaughter Yvette.
Yvette left Warfield years ago, after a horrible incident, but now she is back to sort out her grandfathers will and property and get back to California as soon as possible. When Yvette gets there though, she finds out that her legacy is tied to Cannon. Can they sort the legacy as well as their attraction or will the pain of the past rear its ugly head again.
I have to say I really loved this book! Not just because this is Cannon and Yvette’s story or because I have had a soft spot for Cannon since Getting Rowdy. But because we are introduced to other characters and not just in a fly by night way, but in depth and Ms. Foster is not afraid to show her characters flaws up front. For example, Armie (who I am currently in love with! and I am desperate for his book!) is a bit of a dick where is comes to Cannon's sister Rissy, but that man has a heart of gold, when it comes to protecting his friends.
I’m going to give this book 10 out of 10. Why? Because the book is extremely well written and subjects thoroughly researched (which I would never expect anything less from Lori Foster), but also because the characters are three dimensional, the story line is gripping and the set up for the next book as left me begging for more!

So I didn't realize that this was the start of a brand new series because this picks up right where the Love Undercover series left off. Which is excellent. ^_^ The book absolutely explains everything going on in the characters lives but I already felt in tune with the characters because I read in Dash of Peril the trauma that Yvette and Cannon went through.

Cannon is an MMA fighter and has returned to Warfield, OH because of the death of Yvette's grandfather who left him a share in his estate and business. Cannon and Yvette have a rather serious history and while the timing wasn't right three years ago neither of them ever really forgot their initial attraction.

Cannon is, essentially, the perfect guy. A perfect paradox. Buff, strong, manly, a good fighter etc. etc. but also gentle and protective and respectful of women. Yvette has been working hard to put her terrible past behind her and doing mostly a good job. Yvette decides to move back to and take over her grandfather's pawn shop and house and of course, Cannon moves right on in with her using any excuse to be with her.

Yvette brings her own set of problems with her, a stalker boyfriend from California, and then develops a problem when she decides not to sell either the house or the shop. I felt Yvette's personal problem really didn't have a place in the story. It was a gratuitous problem / plot device I'm sure the author could have saved for a different heroine. Yvette had enough problems...

Cannon and Yvette were awesome but what I think really made the story were the secondary characters (as usual). You learn to love Merissa and Armie and Cherry and Denver and whoever Vanity ends up with should be super interesting. So now I can't wait until those particular books come out too. ^_^

Same formula she’s used in so many prior books. Man and woman know each other—and if it’s not the first book in the series they already knew each other. One of them does their best to not succumb, and once they do, can’t bring themselves to believe they’d be anything but a burden. Lots of lust and well-written sex scenes. A major threat and waiting until the very end before each finding out how the other feels.

Okay with that said, they do know each other. Yvette had always had a crush on Cannon as a teen but when things got bad and he was part of the group that saved her and her grandfather (Dash of Peril), she felt she had to leave, not wanting to be seen as nothing but a victim. She comes back three years later when her grandfather dies. Cannon is just off a major MMA fight when he’s requested to meet with a lawyer who tells him he and Yvette are splitting everything her grandfather left. Cannon hated to see her go three years ago and has never forgotten how he felt about her.

Welcome to the world of MMA fighters, many who hang around the rec center started by Cannon as a way to get kids off the street and away from gangs. They’re a great group of guys as are the women we meet that will most likely team up with a few. The guys are ripped, honorable, protective and very aware of women. And we see a number of characters from the Love Undercover series. I expect we’ll be seeing at least Rowdy in more books.

A few things the author does really well. The first is the characters; it’s what has me coming back, especially when once met in a series, they play a part in each of the next books in that series, making them feel like family. The second is how easy it is to get turned on just by the guy’s dialogue, saying what he wants to do. The third is how attentive the guy is to not only to the woman’s physical needs, but her emotional and mental ones as well. Who wouldn’t like a guy like the heroes Foster creates. And Cannon is no exception.

You’ve got to like Yvette. Yeah, she’s got some issues—most of the women in Foster’s books have something to overcome—but even a most embarrassing scene has her laughing instead of crying.

I don’t like to read a lot of explicit sex, that’s one complaint I have about these books and often skim through those sections. But what I have read is done well as the reader can be sucked into the scene and not just a voyeur.

My Thoughts:

No Limits was another excellent read by Lori Foster! Ms. Foster is consistent in bringing readers sexy and courageous men, suspenseful plots, and unforgettable secondary characters. I've loved Cannon and have been eagerly awaiting his story since I read the, Love Undercover Series! His story was everything that I had hoped for, and more!

In No Limits, Cannon finds love! After three years, he is reunited with Yvette, the one woman that got away. Presently, her grandfather, Mr. Tidwell, has died, and left half of his estate to Yvette and the other half to Cannon. These two end up seeing each other when they return to Ohio to straighten out their inheritances. When Cannon see's Yvette, he realizes that he wants to make her his. However, Yvette has a lot of hang-ups after having been victimized three years ago, and isn't looking for a relationship.

Yvette is attracted to Cannon, and he has always been her dream man, but she thinks that he deserves better. Cannon is determined to be patient, build their friendship, her trust in him, and use the lost art of seduction to get her to be his. As Cannon and Yvette become closer to one another and embark on a relationship, Yvette's ex-boyfriend, Heath, harasses her, and begins to stalk her. Cannon is determined to protect what he considers his, but Yvette is determined to stand on her own two feet and not be a burden.

No Limits was so good! I devoured this story. Cannon was loyal, courageous, sexy, and such a considerate guy. I loved seeing him through Yvette's eyes. Yvette's constant protestations towards Cannon's help irked me. However, I understood where she was coming from, and the fact that she didn't want to be a burden. The secondary characters are phenomenal. I feel like I already know Armie, Denver, Stack, Miles and Gage. My favorite is Armie, and I can't wait for his and Merissa (Cannon's sister), to get their own story. It was also a real treat to get reunited with some of my all time favorite characters from the Lover Undercover Series. Rowdy, and Margaret were my favorites. No Limits had all the elements of an amazing story! We get passion, romance, love, suspense, danger, and of course, excellent characters!!! If you haven't read anything by Lori Foster, your missing out!

My Rating:

I give, No Limits, by Lori Foster, 4 Heroic, Seductive, Mind Blowing, Hunky Male filled Stars!!! Read this story ladies, you will not be disappointed!!!

My Favorite Quote:

"Don't run from me," he said low, his mouth touching her ear. "Swear to God Yvette, it only makes me want to chase you." (eARC, Loc. 964)

In No Limits, Cannon is a hot MMA fighter. He’s the guy every woman wants because of who he is and how he looks. Three years ago he saved Yvette from kidnappers who had horrible plans for her (when do kidnappers ever have good plans, but you get the point). She is determine that she isn’t going to break. That she is strong enough to handle life. She doesn’t need Cannon for protection. She doesn’t want to be the girl he knew before who was a flirt and who was seen as a victim to the entire community.

I believe there was a previous book that tells Yvette’s story, but we are told what happened to her in No Limits, so this can be read as a stand alone. I wasn’t lost at all with understanding what happened in the past.

Cannon comes back to town because her grandfather has written him into his will. He finds out that Yvette was also written into the will and these two are going to be spending a lot of quality time together in the future.

There is so much going on in this book.

Cannon has decided he wants Yvette to be his. She thinks he is only here to do right by her grandfather. We are watching them as they figure out exactly what their relationship is now. Their chemistry is HOT btw. These two are made for each other if they can just get past Yvette’s own issues.

Then there is another mystery going on and another twist that I didn’t see coming exactly. In fact I thought this one person was involved with another person who wasn’t a good guy and it went off in an entirely different direction than where I thought we were headed. I liked that. It was one of those oh, didn’t see that coming moments.

I really loved this book. Start to finish, didn’t want to put it down. Awesome romance, suspenseful mystery, and great side characters (who I hope we see more of!). 5 stars!

Thank you to NetGalley for my copy of No Limits!

This story brings our hero Cannon Colter, smoking hot, MMA fighter and our heroine Yvette Sweeny back together in their home town after 3 years away and apart. They both come home after being left the estate of someone who meant a lot to the both of them, Yvette's grandfather. This situation is awkward due to the fact that not only did Yvette have a major thing for Cannon 3 years ago, but he is also the man who rescued her from being kidnapped. Anything she felt back then was put on hold once she decided to flee her home town and move to California. Away from the only family she had and also away from the man she wanted. Now that she's back from California and Cannon, who was away fighting in the MMA competing are together again, will they finally take a chance and explore more with each other or will Yvette continue to let her nightmares rule her life once more? Could there be there are new threats that end up keeping them apart?? Could be! If your familiar with Author Lori Foster, then you know that her books are always good for keeping you on your toes full of guesses! I've loved all so far and No Limits wasn't a disappointment. Although this is the start of a new series for Foster, she does bring in some of her other books, Getting Rowdy and Dash of Peril. I liked that! I always do. :)

I have to say it was very well written as always. I absolutely would have finished No Limits in one sitting, but my children wouldn't allow it. I had to sneak and hide away every so often when they were not looking. :)

This story was terrific! I loved Cannon and Yvette! There was suspense.. as always in a Lori Foster book... And of course there is the romance! Yvette and Cannon have fantastic chemistry together. I hated putting the book down to join real life lol. I couldn't wait to read what happened next, but at the same time... I didn't want to finish because I knew it would end. (Silly me, I know) :) Thank goodness there will be more! Yep! There is totally a set up in this book for more than another story. :D

I'm rating this 5 Solid Stars! Can't wait to read the next in this series! I absolutely recommend this to the romance readers out there! A definite must read!

The sports world of MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) is the setting for author Lori Foster's "Ultimate" series. Beginning with "No Limits", and bringing forward characters from her "Love Undercover" series, Ms. Foster gives her readers and inside look at the men of MMA and the women who bring out the softer side of the big, bad boys. "No Limits" features Cannon Colter--a standout supporting character from "Getting Rowdy". A bona fide MMA superstar, with a legion of fans and a close-knit inner circle, Cannon knows there's someone missing from his life--Yvette Sweeny. Too young and too troubled when they first met, Yvette survived a kidnapping and other ordeals thanks to Cannon's heroic efforts. However, Yvette left behind her home, her grandfather, and Cannon, and moved from Warfield, Ohio to a new life in California. Her grandfather's death several years later summons Yvette and Cannon both back to Warfield for the settling of her grandfather's estate. Unfinished feelings come blazing to life when the two of them co-inherit her grandfather's home and pawn shop. Sharing the house, dealing with the past, and facing the future are all combined with the heat of passion and the growing closeness of hearts. Yvette is being stalked by her crazed ex-boyfriend, bringing out all of Cannon's protective instincts. Yet, as threats escalate around them, Cannon senses there is another, unknown danger looming over their newfound happiness. Can he protect Yvette and make her believe that he loves her for the woman he truly sees her to be? Can Yvette trust Cannon body and soul, feeling secure enough to give him her heart? Hard bodies, soft hearts, desire, and destiny--you'll find it all in romantic suspense reads from the talented Lori Foster.

First Thought:

I was expecting a book heavy with sports and instead got a suspense romance, not a bad thing.

The Sport:

Although this series is about MMA fighters there wasn’t any ring time in NO LIMITS. I was ok with that because I’m not a fan of any sports really. So why did I read a book about a MMA fighter? Hello Lori Foster wrote it.

But I have a feeling up coming books might have some ring time in them. The other fighters’ women probably won’t have the issues that Yvette had.

The Romance:

WOW. Yvette and Cannon had some long time built up sexual tension. Three years to be exact. After meeting again after Yvette left town the fire was still there for both of them. But the reason they were meeting again (Yvette’s grandfather passed away) was not the ideal way for them to see each other again.

Cannon tries to treat Yvette like she still the same girl he knew three years ago. All Yvette wants is for Cannon to see her as the woman she has become.

After some the couple does some dancing around each other and some heavy petting they finally get in sync with each other and it’s explosive. Lori Foster kept me on the edge of my seat with the touch of suspense and mystery she wove into the hot romance that was building between Yvette and Cannon.

The Secondary Characters:

There was a gang of other fighters from Denver, Stack and best of all Armie. Oh gawd, Armie was the star of the book! And there was two great female characters, Vanity, Yvette’s best friend, Cannon’s baby sister, Merissa (Rissy) and Cherry, Rissy’s room-mate.

Final Thought:

I can’t wait for Armie to get a book!!

Will I Continue the Series?

Yes bring on Denver and Cherry’s book, HOLDING STRONG!

After reading Ms Foster's `Love Undercover' series, I was anxiously awaiting more on Yvette and Cannon and was not at all disappointed with their story. You'd think as book #1 in this new series, that the story would be able to stand on it's own, but this was really the first of Ms Foster's books that I felt needed the prequel to lay the ground work for character development. That's not a criticism, but worth noting. To fully get into Cannon and Yvette, you really do need to read "Dash of Peril" from the Love Undercover series to get their history. Cannon and Yvette had SO much chemistry as supporting characters in the earlier series. But Yvette was too young to begin a relationship, and then something horrible happened to her causing her to run off to California and leaving Cannon to dive head first into his career as a professional fighter. Now, three years later, Yvette's grandfather has died, and Cannon and Yvette are once again pulled home.

Without the lure of Cannon and Yvette, I don't think I would have gravitated to a book about a professional fighter. I had no idea what MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) and SBC (Supreme Battle Challenge) were. Had to google them for definitions. Yet, this has been my favorite of Ms Foster's books to date. Haven't read all of them yet, but I'm intrigued enough to keep reading more. The editing in her work has greatly improved. It was one of of the things that annoyed me in the last series, so I'm glad to see it has gotten better.

As always, I love the way Ms Foster really spends time on building all of the characters in the story, not just the main couple. I can't wait to read more on Armie, Stack and Denver.

Cannon Colter has returned home. To friends that are more like family, and his gym. As an MMA champ, Cannon is everything the title implies.
He's looking forward to the down time, but an old friend leaving him part of a legacy not only confuses Cannon, but makes him wary.
Yvette is a survivor. A hard lesson has made her want, no need to be self reliant in all ways. But her Grandfather including Cannon in the will not only makes her mad, but makes her feel like now Cannon is going to feel obligated to rescue her again. Because once, that was exactly what Cannon had had to do.
Coming face to face again after a few years, Yvette comes to realize that she still wants Cannon for her own. But she doesn't want the hunky fighter to feel like he must stay to take care of her.
Cannon has always known that the sweet Yvette has always wanted him. But she'd been young. Now she's older, but still so scarred.
Cannon can help Yvette heal, but first he's got to break through her walls. Sometimes rules have to be broken to do that.
I really enjoyed this book. The tension and heat were ever present. But after a while, Yvette's refusal of the simplest bits of help from anyone became redundant. So for that reason alone, No Limits gets a 4 star rating.

I’m a sucker for stories where the hero has been in love with the heroine for years but she was off limits before. In this case, Cannon has wanted Yvette for years. Their story started when he rescues her from kidnappers back in the Love Undercover series. It’s been now three years, she still needs to heal, but she wants Cannon to be the man she heals with. And life throws the perfect opportunity their way to make this happen.

Cannon….I’ve wanted to read his story for a while. Sexy bad boy, bartender, fighter. Hero complex. Has the makings of the type of guy I love reading about. Now his career as a fighter has taken off. He’s at the top of everything, his game, his rec center, his goals with the kids in his neighborhood, and now Yvette. Cannon was my absolute favorite thing about this book!

Although I love Lori Foster’s writing and her sexy men, I find that at times it may start to seem a little too sweet/cute. No, that’s not it. There’s suspense in these stories, so naturally I want it to dig a little deeper. Get a little more emotional. Show a little more intensity. I guess that’s it. That was where this book fell a little short for me. There was a lack of intensity.

I am curious to read more about Ms. Foster’s fighters in this new series, there is one in particular I have my sights set on that I’m hoping will be an amazing story. And I’m really hoping it’s the next hero in the series since there was a hint and a setup at the end of NO LIMITS.

I do love a fighter book and that’s no lie but this book turned out to have very little fighting in it and you know what … I was so swept away with the story – I didn’t really notice till I came to make my notes to review! HA! Well played Foster!
One thing I’m noticing with Foster’s writing – she is a master at relationship building. I thought the lead up and tease of Hard Knocks was straining, that holds nothing to this story. The tension. The pull of wanting but not letting go was very overwhelming to me.
I really like how this story is told from the alternating views and how patient Cannon is. Makes for a really nice change and a reminder of what a man really is. The guys don’t play games. They aren’t wiseasses and they are self-assured and patient with their women. They show that they are loved and valued.
I love Yvette. She’s a tough cookie and was a little overwhelmed by her back story.
I thoroughly enjoyed the mystery element throughout and added to the story rather than distracted and will keep readers guessing till the end. Fans of happy endings will love this book. Eager to see what the next book holds for me.
I paid for this book out of my own money.

I actually read the third book (Tough Love) first and then decided to start at the beginning (as you do.) At the time of writing this review I have now read all 3 books, and this book is my favorite so far.

Cannon is a Saint, in more ways than one. He has always been there for Yvette whenever she needed him. As soon as she reappears in his life he steps up and never lets her down. And I just loved him for it.

Yvette is a woman on a mission - she's out to prove that she is not damaged by her past and that she is a strong, independent woman who doesn't need Cannon to swoop in and save her all the time. Yvette has been in love with him for years though she doesn't realise that Cannon has never forgotten her. With his help, she is finally able to leave the past in the past.

This book contained all my favorite ingredients - compelling characters, angst, longing, betrayal, hurt, revenge, suspense, intrigue, swoony romance and redemption. I loved it in its entirety and I'd highly recommend it.

Surprisingly I would have to give this one 3.5 stars despite my eager anticipation for Cannon's story. It started off a little slow and took me awhile to get into the rhythm of the story.

I loved Cannon and am so happy he got his own book. He was the epitome of a to die for hero. Not only is he uber-sexy but he also has that sort of personality that is chivalrous without being sexist, has this amazing friendship with both male and female friends and is so invested in the community's well being.

The main reason I didn't enjoy this one as much as past books despite being crazy in love with Cannon was Yvette. She is understandably scarred from her experiences in Dash of Peril but her quest to not have Cannon or anyone else view her as a victim grated on me. It's one thing to assert a new found confidence, it's a whole different ballpark to do stupid things just to try and prove a point. At that point she wasn't proving anything except a lack of common sense. I found it grating throughout the story and wanted to shake some sense into Yvette.

I don't want to end on a negative note so I will say Lori Foster sets up an amazing array of characters that I can't wait to see in upcoming books. Cannon's friends, especially Armie, were hilarious and so charismatic that I am itching to find out their stories.

Another great story from Ms. Foster! I've been waiting for Canon's story since he was introduced in Getting Rowdy and have not been disappointed.

Canon has been fighting his feelings for Yvette for years but when he had the chance to claim her, he chose to walk away. She had some growing up to do and had just experienced a severe traumatic event that could possibly leave lasting scars. He was on the fast track to making it big in MMA and a serious relationship of any kind would have to wait.

Yvette moves away to try and put a horrific event behind her. Unfortunately, her grandfather's passing brings her back to her hometown and all the bad memories she's tried to forget. She and Canon are suddenly thrust back into each other's lives and fighting their feelings is no longer an option as another danger lurks to break them apart.

Sizzling hot scenes, humor from the rest of the gang at the Rec Center and a nice bit of suspense kept me glued until The End. Loving this series :)

Lori Foster is my hero again! Spinning off from another series, she has created a world filled with MMA fighters, love, romance and suspense. I was transfixed, holding onto the edge of my seat, waiting for the hammer blow…

Cannon Colter, the Saint, is at the top of his game in the SBC, a MMA fighters dream. He has worked hard for what he has and where he is in this world. Cannon also opened a youth center in his home town, to continue to help his neighborhood by offering a place for the young kids to hang out and train. However, even though he’s been around the world, his heart is caught up with the one girl, now woman, that has been on his mind the whole time, Yvette Sweeny.

Yvette has tried to run away from her insecurities and dreaded past. A past filled with such horror that she feels like she’s broken for all intimate relationships. She has to come back to town when her grandfather dies, leaving her and the one man she will always love, to take care of what is left. Yvette has tried to make herself into a new woman, and by leaving all the terrible stuff in the past, be stronger, more secure…and seeing Cannon again, brings about all the past feeling she has for him. Along with these feelings is also the undeniable love she has for him.

Although fate has a plan for Yvette and Cannon which will blow their minds, their struggle and plight to get there is a beautiful story that made me feel good and crazy at the same time. Will Cannon and Yvette put the past behind them and move forward? Can Yvette trust Cannon with her heart? Will Cannon break down the walls Yvette has around her heart? ~TSRBR

This is my first Lori Foster book, and sadly it will be my last. Clearly she's a well known author that has legions of fans, but the characters, banter, story, etc just wasn't my style at all. I felt the story drug often and I found myself speed reading. The big reveal wasn't even enough to sway me. Then we had plot points that were overly convenient, and really made no sense. I'd read something and just stare at the Kindle wondering how that occurrence even made sense. By far, the characters were the most problematic area for me. Hearing MMA, I have certain expectations, and Cannon fell flat. He was simply too nice, and I found him boring. And Yvette, wow, she took the prize for limp noodle female leads. Her modesty about being desirable just got to be far too much. I'm not usually that picky about females coming across a certain way, but this lady had me continually rolling my eyes. As I prefaced, Lori Foster is obviously well loved by her fans, but I think this is more my mom's speed rather than mine.

Title: No Limits
Series: Ultimate Series Book #1
Author: Lori Foster
Genre: Romance
Thoughts: "I want to give you everything you're supposed to have."
His gaze dropped to her mouth. "What if I'm supposed to have you?"
I love MMA themed books, and this is one of the best out there. There was so much sexual tension between these characters that you could just feel their intense need and desire for each other. Foster does an amazing job of fanning those flames of desire - the story just keeps building up to the climax, but without any dull lulls in the story. Not only did I fall in love with the characters of both Cannon and Yvette, but Foster has managed to throw in a whole cast of characters that I can't wait to see more of in future books. The characters were fun, entertaining, witty, and supportive of each other - just like a family should be.
Such an excellent and well-written book - I cannot wait to read the next in this series!! Loved it! Definitely one of my favorite reads this year!

I'm not a fan of fight books. I saw this one at my pharmacy and thought 'Oh good for Lori, too bad it's a fight book". Idly I picked it up and was intrigued by the story idea of two people helping each other recover from a shared trauma. For that reason alone, I bought the book. But.... It's mostly 424 pages of posturing ripped fighters admiring each other, the heroine playing stupid games that a high schooler might try, and the stupidest bad guy that ever walked the face of a Lori Foster book. The stupid heroine wanted to call her stalker (after some really bad stuff and a restraining order no less). Call him! She is so stupid and insecure, and that part of her seems to attract her macho hero.

It might be my dislike of fight stories shining through in my opinion of this book. I mean -- really?! Men fighting for no reason and stupid pretty young stacked girls that love to bask in their shadow, and be content to be used as their one night stands.

Ugh. Lori is a great writer. When she begins a series, it's great, then as the books keep coming, they kinda peter out over time.

I loved this book. I loved Camden from the Love Undercover series and was really excited that he was getting his own story in a new series. Camden is just the sweetest and sexiest hero.

Yvette Sweeny's grandfather passed away and she has returned home from California to find out that he left everything he had to her and Camden. Camden Colter is now a famous MMA fighter and has come back home to claim the girl he let get away three years ago. Yvette was a little frustrating. She didn't want to believe that Camden wanted her, she was afraid that he was just there to save her again like he did three years ago but she is not the same scared clingy girl she was then. She's a woman who can take care of herself and go after what she really wants and she really wants Camden. Her ex from California is bothering her again and she doesn't want to drag Camden into her drama but Camden wants every part of her and he'll do whatever it takes to prove that he's all in and he's not going anywhere.

Super hot contemporary romance; I recommend.

Lori Foster delivers another great romance with the right amount of romantic tension. What I love about Foster's leading men is they are good men to the core no matter their good looks or how much they have going for them to be conceited. Cannon is no different. He has success, looks, fame, yet he remembers his roots. He is also one of those great MMA fighters that brings a sense of security when things go dangerous in his world.

This is also a second chances of sorts romance. Yvette knew Cannon when she was younger and Cannon happened to be her true life hero, literally saving her from kidnappers. Now all grown up, Yvette still wants Cannon but doesn't want him to see her as a victim or poor helpless person. This ends up being the struggle in their romance. He rejected her before due to her age and now she is rejecting him due to wanting to prove herself. But like all Foster books, these two figure things out and everything leads to romance, romance, romance. Then throw in some people wanting to kill them. Yes, a true Foster novel indeed you don't want to miss.

My Book Reviews:
500daysofbooks.com

If you know me well enough, you know I wanted to read this book simply because of the book cover. Yes, I am one of those people. However, that’s not the only factor that dictates what book I read. Of course, I read the description as well and let me just say – you’ll want to read this book!

You have Cannon Colter, the fighter and protector, who just so happens to be the person that rescued Yvette Sweeny from kidnappers when she was younger. And, because of the drama that happened to her, she decides to move to California for a fresh new start. However, that means leaving behind Cannon, her all-time crush and obsession.

Now fast forward three years, Yvette finds herself back in the quiet town she grew up in, the town that she almost died in. Her past follows her around, as well as some new mysteries from her present life. However, what she doesn’t expect is Cannon Colter to come back into her life and turn it upside down. Yvette does her best to try to stop his obvious advances, but she also remembers he was her sole focus when she was younger. Can she really resist him for much longer? I know, I wouldn’t.

Cannon Colter, “The Saint”, is a martial arts fighter, it’s not just his job but his duty to fight and protect the the people he cares most about, especially Yvette. Most importantly, he wants to fight for her heart. He once rescued Yvette from tragedy, yet it won’t be the last time. I feel in love with Cannon right from the start. He’s not your average MMA fighter you read about in books. Yes, he’s a ladies man but he’s not one to play with their hearts. He’s not called “The Saint” for nothing. He’s gentle with them, however he only has one on his mind now – Yvette Sweeny.

The way this book is written is amazing! You not only get to read about the point of views of the main characters – Yvette and Cannon, but other characters as well! Which can lead to new possible books in the future about the other characters like Armie and Rissy, etc. You are never confused as to what is going on, or what the characters are feeling. It’s full of emotion and humor, I couldn’t put the book down. The passion between the characters is evident and the scenes between them are HOT and STEAMY! In fact, I finished the book in one sitting. I would definitely recommend this book to all my hopeless romantics out there, and I’m also labeling this a new favorite of mine.

While I'm not usually a fan of fighters, I've been looking forward to Cannon's story ever since we first met him in an earlier book! Cannon is definitely hero-material...a real good guy who still worries about his family and his old neighborhood. He's even used some of his UFC earnings to open up a gym that helps keep the neighborhood kids off the street.

Cannon comes back to the old neighborhood when he learns that his old friend Tipton mentioned him in his will. Thrown together with Tipton's granddaughter Yvette, he soon realizes that she's no longer the naive teenager who crushed on him years back.

I really enjoyed watching Cannon and Yvetter's relationship develop, and loved getting to know Cannon's friends at the gym. Lori Foster is one of my favorite writers, and you can always depend on her for a good romantic story with interesting characters! Already looking forward to the next book!

No Limits picks up Cannon "The Saint" Colter and Yvette Sweeny's story that started in Dash of Peril. (This is a standalone and the back story is explained but trust me, this couple is so squee worthy to read about you'll want to go back and read that book just to catch any glimpse you can of the two together) Yvette's grandfather has died and Cannon finds out he has been left half of the grandfather's house and pawn shop business. In a letter, the grandfather explains that he wants Cannon to help Yvette come out the shell she has erected around herself. Why Cannon? Well, even as a teen Cannon has been the neighborhood enforcer and worked to keep it clean of drugs and criminals; he helped keep the pawn shop safe. This, along with an incident he went through with Yvette in Dash of Peril, led to Yvette having a serious case of hero worship. Cannon held back as he thought she was too young at the time (she was 20) and thus made Yvette feel like she was always just an annoyance. Now three years has passed and Cannon is ready to make his move.

No Limits is a heart wrenching, pounding, and clenching story of two people who lived through a harrowing experience working to reconnect. Yvette thought when she left town three years ago she was freeing Cannon of any responsibility he may have felt towards her and could pursue his career in the MMA arena, Cannon ultimately let her go because he thought she needed time on her own to grow but harbors some hurt as what he saw as her leaving him. Now that she is back in town and he has some time off from his MMA career he is not going to let her go. What follows is a story full of deep emotions; grieving, hurt, yearning and ultimately love. Cannon must work to not only show Yvette he is truly committed to her but also help heal the wounds of that past experience they had. The way he holds himself back, the tenderness, the understanding, and how he is willing to keep fighting for Yvette, will have you enchanted and rooting for him all the way. Yvette will have your heart breaking as she refuses to believe Cannon could possibly have feelings for her, struggles to overcome her past trauma, and works to reclaim herself. The tension, passion, wanting, and desire between this couple ignites the pages.

The only minor grievances I had involved the two story threads of Yvette's stalker ex-boyfriend and escalating danger of someone trying to scare Yvette and Cannon out of town, one or the other should have been cut as they kind of clogged up the ending and the book seemed to run a little long. Although, I would not envy the editor who would have to choose what scenes to cut or trim. Even with those complaints this is a must read. The way Cannon loves Yvette is why the whole romance genre exists in the first place. This is a couple that will stick with you for a long time. I can't wait to read the next book in the series, which I'm betting will feature Cannon's sister Merissa and friend Armie. I have a feeling Merissa is going to be a challenge Armie won't be able to resist.

Lori Foster is growing on me. I read a previous book of hers in this series. This story begins with the return of a world champ to the small town he'd come from.... and where is heart was broken in a twisted night of violence. Cannon Colter was pulled back by the death of his good friend. He'd been named in the will along with his friend's granddaughter, Yvette. The same Yvette that had broken his heard three years ago.
With the house and the business willed to Yvette and Cannon, there becomes little choice but for these two to work through past pain and find a better future together - once more under the cloud of something dangerous.
The plot is a little predictable, but like I said..... this author is growing on me and the characters sit with me days after I've read the book. I'm sure I'll read more in this series.

Three years ago, Connor Colter rescued Yvette Sweeny from very dangerous men who had broken into her grandfather’s business. Conner knew then that Yvette had feelings for him but she was too young. Now the death of Yvette’s grandfather has brought Yvette back into Connor’s life and this time Connor has no intention of letting her go. Faced with danger from the past Connor must protect Yvette even as he works toward convincing her to stay with him.

I only have one word for No Limits …..WOW! I’d been waiting for Connor and Yvette’s story for what seemed forever! However, once I got my hands on it I couldn’t stop reading. Sexy, full of adventure and my favorite characters from previous books, Lori Foster delivered a winner!

This is an AMAZING book! It is an action-packed, fast, and fun-filled read. I must say I don't understand the sport, nor am I a fan but I do love when Lori writes about MMA. We first got to know Cannon in the Love Undercover series and now he starts off this Ultimate Series and DAMN, I can't wait to read more, especially Armie's story.
I Love The Interaction These Fighters Have With One Another And It's A Plus When We Get Re-Introduced To Some Of The Characters From The Undercover Books.

I have to admit that I've had a bit of an unintended sabbatical where Lori Foster in concerned. One of my all time favorite series is her Men Who Walk on The Edge of Honor. At the urging of a friend, I picked it a few years ago and fell in love. If I was smart, I would've hopped from that series to the Lover Undercover series, which links to the Ultimate series. You still with me?

So, I picked the first book, which actually was a novella - Hard Knocks and I knew I was going to be hooked on this series and then I felt really bad because I missed the Lover Undercover series (those books have been sitting on my Kindle mocking me, daring me to read them). I plan to rectify that oversight ASAP.

Cannon and Yvette have led me back to the Lori Foster fold and I'm so very happy to be back. Cannon is so completely swoon worthy. Like, majorly SWOON WORTHY. He knows he has a way with the ladies and knows he can get what he needs when he needs it. Sometimes, characters like Cannon, are jerks. My man, Cannon is soooo not a jerk. He is sexy and yet very kind and he knows how to let a woman down without pissing her off.

When Cannon makes up his mind about a woman, that's it. It's happening...it's on like DONKEY KONG. Even with Yvette being hesitant about getting involved with him (even though she's had the hots for him since she was a teenager) Cannon decides that he and Yvette are going to be together and he will stop at nothing to make that happen. But what I really loved about him was that he pushed Yvette a bit, knowing she was hesitant to get physical with him. But they way he did it, he pushed without overwhelming her. See? Swoon worthy. And he has quite a mouth on him... kind of a dirty talker. Verrrrrry nice.

His thumbs brushed along her jaw. "Tell me the truth, Yvette."

She loved it when he touched her like this, when she felt his strength mixed with gentleness. It was a hot, macho, potent combination, and no one ever had possessed the same ability to make her feel so many things.

Wrapping her hands over his wrists, she looked up at him. "I want to give you everything you're supposed to have."

His gaze dropped to her mouth. "What if I'm supposed to have you?"

Her breath caught. "Cannon," she chided.

Pleasure showed in his blue eyes. "Yvette."

Amongst the happenings between Cannon and Yvette is ARMIE. Holy crap on a cracker, I need this man's book....STAT. I figured out pretty early on whose direction Ms. Foster was pointing him in and I LOVE IT. Armie is a trip and love his words of wisdom to Cannon as far as how to woo Yvette. I find it ironic that Armie fancies himself a relationship advice giver. ;)

So to conclude: Cannon=SWOON WORTHY. Lori Foster- I'm glad to be back in your world. Armie- I need that book.....NOWishhhhhh.

I loved how Cannon wanted Yvettea from the get go. How he wanted to start something with her as soon as she realized she was in town. I didn't like how he intended to go after her, and made plans to hook up with someone else. I got ivet this though, and enjoyed how proetective Cannon was. Ibliked Yvette ok, liked how she wanted to be strong. Didn't really like how she wasn't as assertive as she should have been regarding her stalker ex. But she had been through so much, and I like that she didn't run every time she was uncomfortable. She tried to suck it up and handle it. The plot was kinnd if silly to me. I think it was a bit much for two adversaries in the book. That was the most random perp and motives. Just totally out there and unrelated to either if their pasts.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

Yvette has always wanted Cannon. Even before he was an MMA fighter. He rescued her before she moved away and now that her grandfather's will has pushed them both together again, she realizes just how much she cares about Cannon. Although he could never forget about Yvette, it just wasn't meant to be…until now. Cannon has always wanted Yvette and now he means to claim her, for now and always.

Another awesome Lori Foster read under my belt. As always, another scrumptious hero who's protective, possessive, alpha-all-the-way, and seductive as ever. I love the by-play between hero and heroine, the erotic loving, and the close personal bonds with the supporting characters. Ms. Foster always writes a sexy romance with a muscled, alpha hottie that will keep you completely engrossed every step of the way. The sex is explicit, but written so well you'll not only always want more, but you'll never get enough! If only we could all have one of Ms. Foster's hero's for our very own (yum!)…

I love the MMA fighter's! What's really great is that there's always another sexy fighter waiting for their very own story to be told. I will anxiously be awaiting more from Ms. Foster. No Limits is not only a Must Read, but a Keeper too!

Lori first introduced Cannon Colter and Yvette Sweeny in Run the Risk (Love Undercover). I must say I feel in love with these two while reading Run the Risk. I loved the fact that Yvette's grandfather ultimately was the one to bring these two together. Cannon is an MMA fighter, so to see him accept and show his love to Yvette is wonderful! Through their youth, struggles and misunderstandings their road to love was difficult, but their happily ever after was worth it. Love love love Cannon and Yvette.

I'm a fan of MMA so anytime I can get my hands on a well-written fighter story I am happy. No Limits is the first full-length novel in Lori Foster's Ultimate series and made a decent start. Though the prequel, Hard Knocks, sets up the series wonderfully, you don't have to read it to understand No Limits.

Lori Foster is a well known admirer of mixed martial arts and the love of the sport shines through in her writing. SBC fighter and champion, Cannon 'The Saint' Colter, has returned home after a close victory in Japan. Bruised and busted, he arrives only to be called to a lawyers office and find out that he has inherited half of a pawn shop and house from a man whose granddaughter has never been far from Cannon's mind. Three years ago he rescued a young Yvette Sweeny from kidnappers with vile intentions. He sees this as the perfect opportunity to reconnect with her and pick up where they left off now that she is all grown up. But Yvette can't forget the circumstances that forced her and Cannon together, no matter how determined she is not to be the victim ever again. Cannon isn't going to make the same mistakes he made before though and let Yvette go so easily. He's willing to fight for them both, even if that means ripping through her internal shields layered with scars and loosing his famed control. Because this is the most important match Cannon has ever fought and he's fighting for keeps.

Cannon is a book hero to love. Big, sexy, smart and protective; Cannon keeps his neighborhood clean and runs a rec center to keep kids off the street and out of trouble. He's known Yvette most of her life but until now their age difference has always been a hindrance in his attraction for her. I really loved his go-get'em attitude when it came to Yvette and his patience when needed. He's definitely a swoon-worthy hero. There was a long standing mutual attraction and past between them that was believable. However, I did not find Yvette's character engaging at all. She continuously questioned Cannon's motives throughout the book despite the fact that he was always open and upfront. Her internal dialogue became frustratingly annoying early on with her inability to accept anyone at face value and instead assuming they treated her with kindness only because they saw her as a victim. This in-turn causes an abundance of sexual tension that Cannon has a hard time dealing. To put it bluntly, there was a lot of rehashing of Yvette's issues and not a lot of progression in the story.

There were some other instances in the story that I found off. One being Cannon's obsession with Yvette from the start but still willing to engage in one-night-stands until he comes face-to-face with Yvette. Though admittedly this doesn't last long and Cannon gently turns down all the bar flies and ring bunnies afterwards it was still a contradiction to his character. Also, the doling out of Yvette's traumatic experience and the consequences of them was drawn out which lessened the emotional impact it could have had. Two different subplots infused the romance with some action and intrigue but it wasn't balanced well. However, I did find the cast of secondary characters and fighters incredibly endearing and I am really looking forward to their own stories. The women they seem to have paired off with so far for future books have that perfect amount of spunk and attitude that I enjoy reading.

I admit that I have to catch up on the Love Undercover series so I will enjoy seeing another side to the start of Cannon and Yvette's story ( set three years prior to No Limits) when I finally read Getting Rowdy and Dash of Peril. That being said though, I didn't feel that I missed any integral part to their story by not reading those two books.

Bottom line, while No Limits may not be my favorite book in Lori Foster's impressive arsenal and there were plenty of hiccups in the plot and story-line, I am intrigued enough by secondary characters to continue the Ultimate series. I think if you're a Lori Foster fan this may be worth you time to pick up for a few hours just to enter the world she has created here and hope for better next time around.

Lori has the start to a great new series! Love tough guys who want to protect and this series will be full of them.

Cannon is coming of a great fight only to find out a close friend has passed away. Per his will, Cannon and the old man's granddaughter inherit everything equally. Yvette comes back to town after her grandfather passes and finds out that she and Cannon own everything equally. She wants him to see her as a survivor and not the victim that he helped so many years ago.

With twists that don't even have anything to do with the past, these two discover that love can conquer as long as there is give and take and putting the past in the past. I can't wait to continue this series!!!!

I love Cannon. He's just so strong, protective, and seriously loyal. He had my attention way back when he was introduced in the Love Undercover series, but seeing him and his buddies in their own environment is....I don't know the words. All those fighters all gathered together in one room is just heavenly. The ladies that take on these guys either have to be strong enough to handle them or somehow incredibly important to them from the beginning. That's where Yvette comes in, starting out as important then becoming strong in front of our eyes. I liked them together and think they meshed very well. I also loved seeing the tension between Rissy and Armie. Can't wait for that explosion! Recommend for anyone who loves their men on the alpha side.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

Yeah is Cannon. I've been asking for his story since we first met him in Getting Rowdy. Then he came back in Dash of Peril. And now his own HEA and with Yvette. Thank you for not changing that. Cannon is awesome for Yvette. Loved seeing cameos of all the previous "family".

Now I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the crew. So I'm guessing Armie will be with her (boy will there be fireworks with that relationship). Denver and her? Idk. Then there's Stack, Vanity, Justice...

Ok, I'm not really too much into romance novels, but I compelled myself to read books this summer other than biographies, reference and tech guides, so a romance novel with MMA in it seemed good.
The book is a pretty good, light read, as other reviews have noted, I seem to be missing something from the previous story ( or short stories?)
The plot moves along however, it doesn't linger too much with the previous story which is nice. The characters seem a bit predictable, but again, it's not that distracting and a fun read.
While I may not be hooked on romance novels, it was a nice bit of escapism :)

Cannon deserves sainthood. He not only is a protector of the neighborhood, the fighters, and Yvette, but he also has patience that no grown man should have. While Yvette is dying to get her hands on him, once he shows that her that she does not have a problem, he is able to take care of her and wait… and wait… and wait some more. The tension and the sparks between them were so hot that I could not read and turn the pages fast enough.

Lori Foster has a talent that not many do. She takes a series and bring each character to life, while bringing in secondary characters that are just as unforgettable. Then, fortunately, she continues the stories of the secondary characters in their own books, yet the characters from the first books are not forgotten. I enjoy getting to know everyone and loved being able to keep track of the past.

I cannot wait for more from this series and group of fighters. Lori Foster is an author I know will keep me up late reading, unable to put down the book. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a great alpha male and a strong female character.

I am absolutely loving Foster’s new series. This novel is emotionally and psychologically intense. It’s also fun, exciting, and suspenseful. I found myself at the edge of my seat, needing to know what would happen next. Foster brings forward some very difficult and potentially disturbing subjects in a realistic yet tactful manner. She creates a bridge between them and her readers, allowing us to understand and empathize. This is all wrapped up in a hot and steamy package that will have you drooling.

Foster has me in the palm of her hands with her MMA men. She piques your interest with a bunch of intense Alpha type men who can definitely hold their own. She develops her main characters in such a way that you can’t help but love them. You get to know them in both the past and the present, allowing you to fully understand all aspects of their relationship. You also get to know them individually, and come to love them. The supporting cast was also very well done. I love how you get to know them without having them overshadow the main characters, but still seeing where they may reappear in the future. Also, the cameos of characters from past series definitely put a smile on my face.

This novel is definitely going in my re-read pile. My copy will be very well worn in short order. I can’t wait to see more of Cannon and his MMA pals.

The story of Cannon and Yevette this is the first in the ultimate series. I love all the characters but it was the secondary characters that really push this book to a 4.5 for me. Yevette and Cannon must deal with issues but they honestly just didn’t’ have the right zing for me. I would read this book again as it’s connected to a series I love.

PJV Quickie: While No Limits is full of fighter-hero goodness, there was actually not any time in the ring, which surprised me. I didn't really feel the attraction between the hero and heroine, but one of the secondary characters kept me entertained.

Review:
Cannon Coulter is a professional fighter who's been called back to his hometown of Warfield, Ohio, because of the death of a friend, Tipton Sweeney. The lawyer informs him he's inherited half of Tipton's home and pawn shop. The other half goes to Tipton's daughter, Yvette.

Yvette Sweeney has also come back to Warfield from California and plans to sell the properties and give Cannon his half. He was involved in a widely-publicized rescue years ago when Yvette had been kidnapped. She'd carried a hero worship for him for so long, but now she just wants to release Cannon of any obligation to her so he can get on with his life and she can go back to hers.

What Yvette doesn't know is that Cannon hasn't been able to shake her from his mind and is looking forward to re-kindling their acquaintance... and then some.

~~~~~~
Here's the thing: I thought this was a new series, but it is apparently a spin-off of her Love Undercover series, specifically the last book, Dash of Peril. I read the Love Undercover series, all except Dash of Peril. Which is probably why I kept thinking that I was missing something, and I actually double-checked to make sure this was the first book in the series. Once things were moving along and some of the characters from the Love Undercover books made cameos, I realized it was a spin-off.
That being said, I did enjoy No Limits and read it in just a few sittings. As I said in my PJV quickie, I thought there would be some fighting, but the story takes place between fights, so no real ring time. There was some mystery about who was vandalizing the pawn shop and the house, which kept things moving along, but the relationship between Cannon and Yvette was kind of flat for me; I just didn't feel the attraction between them; I don't know if this would have been different if I had read Getting Rowdy first.
I did love Cannon's best friend, Armie - a kinky, flirty playboy who is in love with Cannon's sister, Rissy, and fighting it all the way. I'm thinking they're going to have a really good story between them. The other fighters from Cannon's gym were fun guys and I enjoyed their teasing camraderie between them, so I do plan to continue with this series.
Recommendations:
If you like Fighter-Heroes or Romantic Suspense, you may want to give No Limits a try. Fans of Michelle Mannon's "Worth the Fight" series or Vi Kreeland's "MMA Fighters" will probably enjoy Knock Out.
I am impressed with the fact that Lori Foster writes a strong enough story to make me want to read about a sport in which I have absolutely no interest. Her characters are so multi layered and vivid that they could be dropped in almost any setting and I would still have cared about their journey to happily ever after. The secondary characters were quirky and interesting as well, and I can see myself reading the entire series. The story was well plotted, the pacing quite fast and even, and the settings seemed detailed and easy to visualize.
I had never read a book by Lori Foster, but I had heard a lot of great things about her. I was actually a little worried that this book wouldn't live up to the hype. However, this book caught my attention right from the beginning and continued throughout the entire book. This is Lori Foster's new mixed martial arts fighter books. Cannon, the hero, and Yvette, the heroine, had met in a former book, I knew exactly what happened between. Yvette was interested in Cannon, but he had brushed her off. He thought she was too young. Of course, now that it was years later, he felt it was okay to date her. Thrown together by her grandfather's legacy, he realizes how deep Yvette's scars really go, and how much danger lurks in their quiet town. As pent-up desire explodes between them, protecting her becomes the only fight that matters.
This is a wonderful book with lots of suspense. I am definitely going to read more of her. *****
Some of the events I could predict - like some of the things with Heath. But the other problem with the lawyer and Mindi surprised me all the way! I always like a book where the hero and heroine like each other and work together from the beginning, and this book certainly qualifies for that.
Even though this book has characters from another book, it can definitely stand alone. The author gives out enough information that you can understand the book without reading the other. On the other hand, the events from the other book sound so good, it will certainly make someone want to read the other book when they are done!
I am so pleasantly surprised with this book. Though I feel like this is more a second book in the series because of Yvette and Cannons previous story/history. I really liked this book, however I tired of the back and forth. He lack of trust in him and faith in Cannon and how he felt. It just felt a little repetitive because over and over he had to repeat it to her.
Now the twist as to who was involved was a welcome surprise. I didn't expect it to be him. Her yes, Him no.
Other than that, I loved the writing style. Loved the story line. And loved the ending.
Lori Foster's NO LIMITS is a great beginning for her new series! I read it almost completely through before I was forced to put it down and picked it right back up for a great finish as soon as I could. Yes, there is some graphic sexual content, but it's done tastefully, as only Ms. Foster can do.
If you like your heros smokin' hot, your heroines sweet but sensual and your plot lines chock full of budding romances for future books, you will be thrilled with this story. I know I was. Can't wait for the next book in the series.
Lori Foster knows how to create sexy, fun, alpha males that are sweet, protective and loyal. This is a wonderful story about Cannon and Yvette. Cannon is a SBC fighter who has returned home due to an inheritance that he shares with Yvette. Yvette's grandfather has passed away and leaves everything to her and Cannon. She must deal with her school girl crush and hero worship of him. What Yvette doesn't realize is that the feeling is mutual. Together they overcome danger and learn to trust and love.
New to leaving reviews. ***I purchased my own book***
I loved how Yvette has always loved Cannon and trying to get his attention. Then a tragedy happens and Cannon comes to her rescue. Yvette runs to California. But after her grandfather passes, he wish is for Cannon to come back and help Yvette.
Yvette is still attracted to Cannon, but fights it. Cannon also fights his attraction to Yvette.
I love this book. It is a must read for me.
I have read Ms. Fosters Love Undercover series and like most of the 4 books so I was excited to begin this series. I am very disappointed. The heroes in this new series are all mixed martial arts fighters and all ridiculous womanizers -- over-the-top! This for me really spoiled the hero Cannon Colter when in other ways he was helping keep the neighborhood nice and teach classes and coach teenagers, etc.
Our "heroine" Yvette Sweeny has just lost her grandfather. She was in California for 3 years living with another woman as her roommate and running an online type of business. I found her to be more of a wimp than expected as her talk (to herself) in the beginning shows she had been independent.
This just didn't come together for me very well although I did really like some of the secondary characters -- women but NOT the men!
Ms. Foster is an experienced and successful writer who seems to be writing the same romances over and over - the MMA angle is popular right now, but the plot is tired.
Or maybe I am just too old for the formula romances any longer.
It's hard to imagine how any man could be interested in Yvette. She seems to live her life so ineffectively. A terrible role model for younger readers of romance novels.
While I appreciate the hard work and skill it takes to write a book, Ms. Foster (in my humble opinion) would be better served to seek out a new genre for her talents.
This is an amazing series of books about fighters and Yvette and Cannons love story. Three years ago Cannon saved her and her uncle from being killed and set on fire. The experience was so traumatic that she had to leave town and fleed to California to forget. Her uncle died and she had to come back for the funeral and settle up his estate. Her uncle left his pawn shop and house to her and Cannon hoping this will make her want to stay and stop running away from her past. Cannon has always loved her and her uncle wanted him to try to convince Yvette to stay and put it in a letter before his death that he left for Cannon. Yvette has a lot of PTSD symptoms that she has to work through but Cannon is there for her every step of the way. Now if he can just convince her he is there for her because he loves her and not because he is obligated. This story is suspenseful, romantic and erotic on the journey Cannon and Yvette must travel to get to their happily ever after. All the supporting characters in this story are interesting and the fighters stories will make this series suspenseful and romantic as we find out how they get their happy endings. I cannot wait to read Rissy, Cannon' s sister and Armie, his best friend and fellow fighter, love story.
Cannon Colter, SBC fighter, rescued Yvette Sweeny from kidnappers 3-1/2 years ago. They had an undeniable connection but at 18, she was too young for him. Now she's back in town and more beautiful than ever. She still has issues from the kidnapping and Cannon vows to help her get over them. After that, he means to claim her for his own. Will a psycho ex-boyfriend keep them apart?
Fantastic story! Lori Foster NEVER disappoints. She's a master at writing MMA fighters and the women who love them. Cannon is a good guy. Everything he does is for the good of his neighborhood and for the good of the woman he loves. He's a sexy, tough alpha man and I love to see him take charge. Yvette is a lucky woman to have Cannon on her side. I love the fact that if you love one fighter, all the fighters stand by your side. The sense of family amongst them all is heartwarming. I can't wait until Armie gets his own story.
Her grandfather has passed on and left his home and pawnshop to both Yvette and Cannon. Danger has followed her and Cannon will make sure he's there to protect her. Excellent story.
WOW WOW WOW. I LOVED Cannon and Yvette's story. I won't go into details of the book...you have to find out for yourself but I love how Lori Foster can start a new series but the old familiar relationships from other books are there in the background and I just love reading "possible" next books with relationships for new characters (Armie and Rissy). So happy she is back into MMA world. I love watching MMA fights and combined with some romance and a little danger ...what can be better. Lori Foster is ALWAYS on my pre-order list and ALWAYS keep her books as re-reads.
The story that starts the Ultimate Series, surrounding Connor and Yvette. A wonderful love story with enough intrigue and suspense to keep you turning the page. You have to read this book. It was a hard to put down. I had to keep going to make sure Yvette opened up, that Connor took good care of her. To make sure her ex left her alone
Lori Foster is a literary genius, who blesses us time and time again with her creativity, that leads us to desirable alpha men. Book after book leaves us drooling over her sexy heroes and then rejoicing when they find their happily ever after. Well, No Limits is no different.
After reading Hard Knocks I've been salivating at the though of Cannon Colter. Cannon is everything you could want in a hero, he's sexy, strong, protective, loyal, and did I mention SEXY! But more than that, Cannon is a good man, who you can rely on. Cannon is a professional fighter whose been summoned back to Ohio because Yvette's grandfather died and left him half of his house and half of the pawn shop. The other half belonging to Yvette. It's been three long years since they've seen each other, but one thing still remains the same, their emotions run deep. Throw is some jealousy, drama, creepy exes, some passionate sex, and the type of love that you would give anything for, and you've got yourself another bestselling release.
One of the great things about a Lori Foster book, is that you are introduced to new characters and reacquainted with previous ones. In No Limits, we are introduced to Cannon's fighting buddies, Yvette's best friend, and a few others, who I can't wait to read about in additional books. The only I thing I am dying to know now, is who the next book is about. Is it Armie & Merissa.....or maybe Denver & Cherry....or maybe Vanity gets the next book. Curious minds want to know!
This book is hot! Lots of foreplay,yum. If you've wondered about the world of fighters then this is it, shows how a tight group they are and that they look out for each other. Love this series but also love that each book can be a stand alone book.
Captivating from the first page. Idk how Lori does it. Always fast paced. Cannon and Yvette were perfect for each other. Can't wait for the rest in the series. I hope ALL the characters in this book get their own stories. Armie's is going to be very, very everything!What a character.
Ok, I'm not really too much into romance novels, but I compelled myself to read books this summer other than biographies, reference and tech guides, so a romance novel with MMA in it seemed good.
The book is a pretty good, light read, as other reviews have noted, I seem to be missing something from the previous story ( or short stories?)
The plot moves along however, it doesn't linger too much with the previous story which is nice. The characters seem a bit predictable, but again, it's not that distracting and a fun read.
While I may not be hooked on romance novels, it was a nice bit of escapism :)
Lori Foster's NO LIMITS is a great beginning for her new series! I read it almost completely through before I was forced to put it down and picked it right back up for a great finish as soon as I could. Yes, there is some graphic sexual content, but it's done tastefully, as only Ms. Foster can do.
If you like your heros smokin' hot, your heroines sweet but sensual and your plot lines chock full of budding romances for future books, you will be thrilled with this story. I know I was. Can't wait for the next book in the series.
This is my first book by Lori Foster. I really enjoyed it. I felt as if the characters were very well developed. The plot was also something that I haven't read before...which I'm happy about. Reading the same old types of stories gets old. It did get a little slow towards the middle, but picked back up. It was a fast read, I read it within two days. Overall, it's a good, fast story. I really enjoyed it.
No Limits follows the story of Cannon and Yvette. Cannon is a sexy fighter who has returned to a town he left and decides to stay since the woman who got away from him 3 years ago is returning also. Yvette is the sweet, sexy girl whose grandfather passes away causing her to return also. She knows Cannon is going to be there and is undecided on whether or not to get in involved with him. She'd wanted him for years and never got his affect in return, but she's older and wiser now and just might see where things could lead between them.
Right from the beginning both character want each other. A very cat and mouse game. At first it was kind of silly since they hadn't been in touch for so long, yet both were lusting after each other from the first few pages. However, never getting over someone after years would make you still want them. Yvette has some insecurities which prevents her from getting to sexually involved with Cannon. He's determined though to see that all her fantasies come true. It was a little immature how things proceeded. I thought Yvette had some major issue so when she finally told Cannon what it was, I was a little surprise. Her issue is something women deal with so I did want to see how it played out. Of course Cannon helped her solve her problem.
While reading the book it seemed to be about Cannon and Yvette, but every now and then other characters points of views were added in. There were some other fun characters in the book who are friends with Cannon. Of course all the fighters are hot and the female characters are sexy. They still made the book fun with their little added adventurous lives.
Overall the book was okay. It was easy to read, had some good parts in it, had some drama, had some heroic parts, and some very sexy parts. I got a little tired of how childish some of the things were that happened, but guess that added drama to the story. If the story had been a little less cheesy in some places with better dialogue at times also I would have gave it 4 stars. It was still fun to read and see how the story of Cannon and Yvette was going to play out. So if you want a fast, sexy read, this would a fun book.
