4 and 1/2 stars.
Why I Read this Book: I love me some sexy alpha-male mercenaries. When I first heard of this series, I knew I had to read it. I enjoyed reading the first book in this series, When You Dare, and Trace was a secondary character I had my eye on. I knew there's was more to him and I couldn't wait to read his story.
What I Liked: The action starts from the get-go, right from page one. Trace and his team are bringing down human traffickers. Trace has been personally affected by human traffickers so he has made it his personal mission to get rid of them and their business.
Priscilla has her own reasons to bring down Murray and his `business', a very personal reason. She's there for vengeance and she's not going to let anyone, including Trace, get in the way of her goal. I liked Priscilla's character; I loved her determination. The woman's got balls.
The chemistry between Trace and Priscilla was hot. The author did a great job on pacing the relationship yet again; it didn't feel rushed. Trace took a little advantage of certain situations regarding Priscilla, including a `pat down' and a very risqué shopping trip. But Priscilla didn't let her shyness show through. Nope. She worked it and gave Trace quite a show! It brought Priscilla out of her shell a bit.
Jackson was a great addition to the crew. Great set up for Jackson's character in the next book. I can't wait to read it! And speaking of secondary characters, it was good to see how Dare and Molly were doing. Along with Chris. Can't forget Chris.
The cover - hello! *pets*
What I Didn't Like: Priscilla's nickname, Priss, which is what she went by for most of the novel. I know, I know. It's such a minute thing but I just couldn't get over `Priss'. It sounds....well, prissy. And speaking of Priscilla, there were times when she was a bit dramatic. Like the car ride over to Dare's house. I think she over reacted a bit of Trace's necessary actions.
Overall Impression: I liked Trace of Fever even more than When You Dare. After reading the first book in this romance suspense series, I couldn't wait to read more and that's still the case for me. I can't wait to read the next book, Savor the Danger.

Trace of Fever is the second book in the Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series.
Trace Rivers is working undercover trying to earn the trust of a well known and corrupt businessman, Murray Coburn when he meets innocent Priscilla Patterson claiming to be the long lost daughter of Murray but with a hidden agenda and secrets of her own.
Trace has spent quite some time trying to infiltrate Murray's business, to gain his trust so that he could eventually put a stop to the human trafficking he was dealing in. He saw Priscilla as a distraction he didn't need, it was a time when he couldn't afford to lose focus.
Priss has lived a sheltered life and after the death of her mother had set her sights on seeking revenge on the man she believes ruined her mothers life as well as her own by association; she was focused and determined much to Trace's dismay.
I absolutely loved Trace and had been looking forward to reading his story after learning bits and pieces about him in book 1 When you Dare. His sister had been kidnapped by traffickers so he has a personal vendetta against the illegal trade of women and was out to seek justice; I thought his actions were admirable. I wasn't a huge fan of Priss, she seemed to run hot and cold for me and at times acted quite immature and stubborn, I found her to be quite irritating.
The slow build-up to their relationship worked well with me, although they were attracted to each other physically from get-go they held back; I liked the possessive streak Trace showed toward her.
The bad guys were just horrible! From Murray to his girlfriend Helene (Hell) as well as the henchmen that seemed to be lurking everywhere, they were evil nasty people. I am glad they got what they each deserved.
I enjoyed the secondary characters, Dare and Molly make an appearance, Matt the stylist was great & I adore Chris! I am looking forward to reading Jackson & Alani's story in Savor the Danger.
I liked the pacing of the story; the mystery/suspense held my interest and I enjoyed the resolution. I enjoy Foster's writing style.
What I didn't like: Priss was innocent sexually and was quite modest; I found the searches she had to endure to be quite humiliating, especially considering Trace's view on the ways women should be treated; it seemed to contradict him as a character and was demoralizing for Priss. The way her size was constantly mentioned also grated on my nerves.
Although I wasn't a fan of Priss, I found the story entertaining and I loved alpha hero Trace. It was a satisfying HEA.
Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy Trace of Fever as much as When You Dare but it is still a well written and enjoyable read.

I have always loved Lori's books and she continues to amaze me with Trace of Fever.....It has the perfect combo of romance and suspense. There is a scene where the heroine is being rescued and she escapes naked through a bathroom window that had me laughing out loud. You never know what to expect with her books because she keeps you guessing and that Is what I love so much about her books. Put her on your auto buy list and read whatever you can get your hands on. If you want a book that is a lil suspense, a lil humor, a lil spice and a lot of great romance pick it up!!!!!!

I love this series!! All these hot alpha males.
This is Trace and Priscilla's story.
Anyone but me notice that Pris acted very weird when she was not with Trace? Like her while personality morphed into something else while talking to other people. I feel like you never really how and why she went after Coburn. You never really get the back story out of Trace either until the very end.
I wondered if Helene was gonna be too much. But it was a good insert to the story. I also wondered about Alice. I love that I was kept in the dark.
I'm looking forward to Jackson. He is gonna be fun to read :)

It's never good when you get to the end of a book and think "Thank God that's over!" It took me a long time to slog through it. I have enjoyed Ms. Foster's contemporaries but I personally do not at all like her attempts at romantic suspense.
This was a revenge story. The heroine was out for revenge on the bad guy for something that did not really need revenge. She was going to kill the man who had kidnapped, raped and shared her mother. I realize that's a bad thing but...Her mother had kept her off the grid her whole life to keep her away from the bad man. (A man who didn't remember or care anything about the woman or what happened to her.) So the first thing you do after that upbringing is go straight to the bad guy to kill him? "I had a sucky upbringing so I'm going to go kill some man who may or may not be my father?" Is it that easy for a normal person to decide to go and murder someone? Didn't buy it at all. Maybe if the mother had pounded into the daughter that "it is your destiny to revenge me!" But the mother had been trying to protect her for the whole of her life. I wonder why the mother even admitted who the bad guy was in that case. She had no training and only a lame ass plan involving some strange cartoon weapons.
The hero was some sort of mercenary who was undercover to bring down the bad guy's white slavery operation. His sister had been kidnapped in an earlier book so at least he had a valid reason to be working against this. And he had training. But... he was the most trusted henchman of the bad guy after being there 3 weeks? Yeah...nope.
The whole thing took place in about 3 days and the heroine managed to be too stupic to live throughout most of it. And the hero just kept admiring her gumption every time she did exactly the opposite of what he asked her to do to keep her safe.
The characterization was weak. The only part I really enjoyed was when one of the other good guy operatives had to rescue the heroine while she was naked in the shower.
My point I guess is that Ms. Foster should stick to comedy where she is a very strong writer and leave suspense to others more suited to it. YMMV

While I have to admit that I liked this story at first I have to say it quickly became a bit over the top at times. The surreal aspects of the plot took away from my enjoyment of the story. Sure we all love to fantasize about a real hero coming to our rescue in dangerous situations but this story hero was more 2 dimensional than realistic. I was really disappointed because the other male characters were so well written. I plan to read more of this series to see how the others find love but I'm not going in with high expectations.

The cover of this book pulled me in...And I am so glad that it did! Trace is so sexy!! He is the ultimate alpha male!! Did I mention sexy?! Why can't I have a man like this in my life?!! I guess that's why romance books were invented!!! This book is definitely a MUST READ!! (As is ANY book by this author!!)

Book number 2 Trace of Fever. Trace and Priscilla have the same motivations and purposes to shut down and take out Murray, the sick bastard Being a human trafficker. This action packed drama brings two people together, one whose been around the block a time or two and one a green as grass, love the tenderness of Trace the badass mercenary towards Pricilla. Both wanting each other and the sex is explosive . One of my favorite parts is when Trace gets stuck with a drug to make him horny and when Priss finds him she takes care of his needs even though she's a virgin.

Great continuation of The Men who walk the Edge of Honor. I love the entire series! I often find myself rereading the series as I have done several times,I just love the way the stories and characters show their strength and courage it take to get things done.

I just did not like this one. I've never actually written a review that was less than 3 stars but I was that disappointed. And I don't want to come across as rude or minimize the author's hard work.
However, I absolutely could not stand Priss. And Trace lost my respect because he liked her so much. Priss seemed immature and selfish and stupid.
I REALLY liked the first book, When You Dare, and in spite of my disappointment with this one I am looking forward to Jackson's story. I'm very much hoping it will be back to Ms. Foster's usual high standards.

The first book with Dare had me drawn into the series, I couldn't wait to read Trace's book. It did not dissapoint! I loved Priss's character how strong she was through out the whole book. I could've never pulled off what she did. Trace was of course steamy alpha male and it was wonderful! Every Lori Foster book I read just keeps getting better and better. Would recommend to anyone to start this series. You do not have to read them in order it seems either.

there is nothing sexy or romantic about human trafficing and sex slaves. I liked the first book of this series so much that I kept plowing through this book, just knowing it had to get better. And it just never did. Admittedly, I thought the hero was awesome. I really liked Trace and would have enjoyed his story if the plotline was different. The heroine, Priss, was absurd though and ultimately this left the book lacking. This book read a lot like a CSI show with sex thrown in. Again, not sexy, just disturbing. I'll give it 2 stars only because the writer created a great hero and it's not his fault the plot stunk, but the plot was a 1 star for sure.

Trace of Fever is the second book on the Man Who Walk the Edge of Honor Series. I read the first book of the series and picked this one because I really liked the first one. However, I found that although it has great plot, characters and dialogue, it lacked mystery. Maybe that's because I had already read When You Dare which has the same human trafficking back-story. I loved the banter between Trace and Priss, the sexual tension and the action, but throughout the story I felt like I'd already solved the mystery. All in all, a great romance.

Trace goes undercover to infiltrate a human trafficking operation. Trace runs into trouble as he gets closer to the head of the operation. That trouble is name Priscilla and she has her own dangerous vendetta against the very same man Trace is trying to take down.
Just as the previous story, When You Dare, it was a light and entertaining read.
The cover had me at hello. Love it.
Would I recommend this to a friend? No. The story was just okay and there are better stories out there.

I did not finish this book. I barely made it through through the first in the series, but thought I would give the next one a try to see if it got better. I did not. I have read many Lori Foster books and always enjoyed her prior work. These books feel like they are written for a tween audience. Though the content is hardly appropriate for that age group, the characters and style feel like a bad Saturday morning tween show. Sadly this seems to be a trend with popular romance authors these days.

Trace of Fever is the 2nd book in the Men Who Walk The Edge Of Honor series. I loved this story. I love Trace and all the men in this story and the strong woman they fall for. This series is full of romance, suspense, action, and men who are hot alphas and not afraid to fight for what they believe in. This is a great read.

i thoroughly enjoyed when you dare, so when trace got his story, couldnt wait to read it!! no synopsis, just what i didnt like, and i KNOW lots wont agree. here goes, didnt like the way trace was portrayed, or his behavior with "priss", he's top notch at what he does, but not only does priss take him down so does "hell"!!then we have jackson, the scene in the bathroom was ridiculous,as with trace,BOTH taken down by the same women...c'mon! then we have "miss Priss", she's the baddest 5'4 dynamo in the whole story, and rudest, but can't follow thru on all her threats and promises at the end. for that matter neither did trace. bottom line, this was more "priss's book. i gave it 3 stars because of the other characters. and to be honest the book is ok, just think it could be better, not sure i want to read jackson after this, will wait for reviews.

I rarely do not finish a book--at least skim my way to the end. This book was so bad, I just couldn't finish it--Story line is ridiculous and unbelievable. A sensual body search in the 1st or 2nd chapter was just ludicrous. Maybe if you are a huge Lori Foster fan you could read it out of loyalty. I just read Dare and Molly's story and really enjoyed it, but I could not continue with Trace and Priss--just fell flat for me from the start--Save your $$

This book kept me highly entertained from start to finish. I thought the characters were funny and interesting and I felt like I was along for the ride. I am so happy this book is part of a series, the first book in the series "When You Dare" is just as great and the third book "Savor the Danger" made me laugh out loud too many times to count. If you love Lori Foster's book as I do, you will absolutely love this book. Her stories keep you on your toes and make you sigh with the way the characters come together.

This was an ok story. I enjoyed the first book in the series more than this one. It seemed a bit more disjointed in the storyline. I thought the female character was a little vague on her revenge plans for her possible psychopathic father and just lucky enough to have backup from the strong male character. It was still a story to fill up time.

After reading When You Dare (Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor) (which I loved) I immediately began reading "Trace of Fever". I was a bit disappointed in the dialogue and thought the storyline was a bit unbelievable. I found the female character's somewhat annoying as well as their names "Priss" and "Hell". Trace and his friends however were quite yummy alpha males! I do plan on reading the third book Savor the Danger (Hqn) in this trilogy.

I'm sad to say that this is one of the most boring books I've read. It's sad because it had the chance to be such a good book. It had all the parts, but they just didn't come together. It drug out in places and just never really seemed to get going. I honestly didn't care about the characters and quit reading it at the three quarter mark. It most definitely lacked in sex appeal and romance. It just was SO BORING. I wouldn't even recommend this for a "rainy day" book. I hate to say it because I like the author, but damn this was bad.

Lori Foster's Edge of Honor combines mystery, action, titillating sex and romance and never disappoints the reader. The plot and characters are well developed and the novel is hard to set aside. It's a quick read which is thoroughly satisfying.

I just don't find rape sexy.
The bad guy who is supposed to be a good guy RAPES or shall we say Gate Rapes the daughter of the sleaze bag bad guy. NONE of the characters are remotely likable.
Other authors have told the same damned story -- but with a lot more class.
When it is impossible to tell the "good" guy from the bad guy I give up reading trash. This guy is not an Alpha -- apparently most of the romance writers have absolutely what a real true alpha leader personality is. Most seem to think that Alpha means macho sadist.

Despite not having read the previous books in the series/collection, I really enjoyed this romance by Lori Foster. Her heroes are strong, caring men, and her heroines are smart, competent women. What's not to like?

Used to love Lori Foster books - they were good fun. This one is just plain nasty. The alleged hero sounds more like a serial killer and doesnt seem to have many redeeming qualities. The only plus is that the villian is even worse and the scenes with his girlfriend are disgusting. I am not usually offended by strong language (I'm Australian - enough said!!) but the use of it to demean women does offend me. Gratuitous violence also offends me. Lori last series based on cage fighters lost me pretty quickly. Thought I would give her another chance based on her earlier books but sorry I did. Shame.

I'm a big fan of Foster. Funny, witty, thrilling, hot; she's got it all in spades.
At the moment, I'm almost half-way through Trace of Fever. I have to be honest and say that this isn't one of my favourites. I'm loving Trace's character, but Priss is hard to get around. I don't want to say anything negative as I don't want to ruin this book for myself. She's only 24, which I can understand why she's stubborn, immature and so hard to impress. Of course in the end, Trace and Priss will end up together, so I still need to keep an open mind. I have to keep telling myself that if Trace sees something in Priss, maybe she's worth it!

Of course in the end, Trace and Priss will end up together, so I still need to keep an open mind. I have to keep telling myself that if Trace sees something in Priss, maybe she's worth it!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading When you Dare
Please RateTrace of Fever (Edge of Honor)
If you like watching the good guys beating up the bad asses and bedding the heroines this is a great tale of intrigue. You will be rooting for Trace as he protects Priscilla Patterson from a monster she believes to be her long lost daddy. You'll want to see Helene-a psychotic Bee-atch get what's coming to her as well.
There is intrigue, action and plenty of steam in this book. Trace and Priss are a great match and throw in Jackson as back up and it is a recipe for a fine story. Once again a ruthless human trafficker is taken out of commission and love conquers over pain and suffering. Stay tuned and be prepared to be riveted once again.
