I couldn't put it down. I've been waiting for this book for a while now, and it didn't disappoint in the least. Character and plot development continues at a great pace, and some interesting new characters and twists are thrown in. Highly recommended!

Read the first and you'll be hooked. The huge cliff hangers are very frustrating but that might just be a me problem. Going to back track to read the side stories as a hold over. Love the world, love the characters. Writing the side stories is very ambitious world building for a solo author with a day job so I'm hoping I can 5 start them as well and not just grumble about how they aren't about Jason.

Hadn’t heard of the litRPG genre until I tried this outside of Ready Player One and the old Piers Anthony Split Infinity series. Following Jason and the gang is truly a treat. Keep it coming Mr. Bagwell!

I’ve been reading books of this genre for quite some time now, and hands down this is my absolute favorite series to date. I love every second of it! The characters are well designed, the storyline is one of a kind, I jus can’t get enough! Every book I read leaves me ravenous for more!

This is one of those rare books. It combines entrancing characters, fantastic action and a deep dive into the psyche of both the characters and the world at large. As an avid fantasy and litrpg reader I would say this is easily one of my favorites. I cant wait for the next book and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to get sucked into not just a great story but a fantastic world.

This series was one that got me into the litrpg genre. Excellent writing and characters that keep you sucked in and engaged in the story. The quality has only increased as the story continues and the author gets more experience. Never stop.

By far one of the best book series I have read. With VR making great strides in technology and gaming, AO is something I would love to see as a real game. AO is the perfect game would. Plus I am ready to see Jason and Alex fight it out again. I really cannot wait

It's been a while since I read the earlier installments, and I found myself wishing I had re-read them beforehand.
But once again, one of the mist interesting parts of this story is the table-turning between light and dark, and good and evil. I really enjoyed the interplay.
Interesting characters also; well-developed and intricately conflicted.
A little less action in this one, I think, but the story still moves along well.
I noticed a lack of an obvious story arc . . . I was surprised when i got to the epilogue that it was over. I still love the story regardless, and I want more.
Great read!

This book needs an adaptation on Netflix already. Anyways, this guy Jason never lets me down. I can't wait for the next installment. Might have to hound the author for updates. People say Wakanda Forever, but I'll say Twilight Throne Forever!

I just finished reading through the entire series and all I can say is, that these books are incredible. Everything about this was great, from the CPSC's gamemasters to the unlikely villain of Clair, or the one who set up the main antagonist. I hope that you keep up the great work in your prequels, and the sequels.

Another installment of the best LITRPG series out there, fans of any good fiction will also enjoy this book. Good pacing, epic action, and characters that are very believable. I need the next one NOW!!!

Enjoyable, guilty-pleasure reading that continues much in the way the first two books did. Finally beginning to be more thoughtful in asking bigger questions, which I look forward to in subsequent novels.

The author does a wonderful job with this story. You get the main characters, the game story line, the story outside the game and all the goodness in between. Excellent plot, well developed story lines, great series all the way around. Can’t wait for the next one!!

Love this series the main character is a kid looking to take control of his life and get power. What better way then becoming the bad guy in a new hit VR game. Great read even if your not into LitRPG.

It's decent as a story, and if you like the first two you'll probably like this one. Its not really litrpg though. Levels don't matter. The main character and his buddies are ludicrously OP. The series as a whole has a problem with this and I guess it's harder for me to look past by now. Heck MC can gain 30 levels in a battle and not be eligible for a single spell or ability? Plus why are their classes so OP? Why does everyone else have cookie cutter crap classes? The gaming community just seems non-existent. Ah well.

What a ride! Up, down, in, out, and everywhich way in between. An amazing world with characters you love and hate! Not to mention the twists and a cliffhanger that left me all but shouting “WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?!”.

Enjoyed the read. My only problem with this book is that it seems to me that more time was focused out of game than I would like. This would still recommend this book for people to read and I'm looking forward to the next book.

Great book but.... it's obvious that we will have to wait double the normal time to finde out what happens with Jason and Alfred. Book 5 looks to be random filler , much like book 3. And with the crapy cliff hanger ending.
I believe the author may not know where he wants to tae te story,, there are lot of dropped almost ending, the main bad guy is a moron. 8 trillion times he faces the truth, he see's the light next after all the soul searching the story goes on like the last 5 page's never happened. Very frustrating and annoying . It all just useless Paige filling.

This story is getting more and more focused on the game, rather than Jason's real life, and I think that's a detriment to the book, also I don't like how Jason is becoming more of a "the ends justify the means' kind of guy, sacrificing people just to achieve his goals, even though he continually comments on how the NPCs are "real" and not just fame characters. It doesn't jive in my head. No good.

The writing is of much higher quality than many kindle unlimited books, but I can get extremely frustrated reading this book. Maybe the author has had a bad life experience or something but there is just no way every character other than the main character and his close friends are so short sighted and cruel. This world can be a difficult place but not everyone is so mean spirited. Top this of with the main character getting overpowered abilities but only using them to their fullest when it's convenient to the plot. It just gets frustrating.

This one just didn't hold up as well as the first two. The side stories were actually more interesting then the main story. The rpg elements were basically missing and he basically kill the mechanics of the game. This one also was missing strategic elements. There was no build up to the next book just a cliff hanger to the side story lines. I fear this story has lost its edge. I will say that his over all writing style has improved but frowny face.

peace love reading
The first sixty percent of the book was a story. It held few moments of unique success or excitement for the characters that took more than a few words to describe the impact on the players or the book. The ending (last forty percent) held some intrigue and excitement. It’s not enough to tell the story: meeting someone new isn’t enough, beating a bad guy isn’t enough. Did the experience change life life or depth or the character in a way that was exciting to the reader. Thanks for the decent read. Surprise me as you lay the backstory and foundation. Accomplish something unique along the way...

Whys is the character perspective changing every 7 pages? Why is half the book in italics? I see this is no longer a litrpg, since the main focus of the book is outside the game. I found myself just sliding through pages uninterested.

This is a bit upsetting since I loved book one a lot. Book 2 was alright... But this??? What happened?

(sidenote, I suppose one star was a bit harsh. I'll bring it up to a 3.)
