A great ending, a well thought out book, not thrown together like some of the sci-fi out there. The author delves into character, and has unexpected twists along the way. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire series, will definitely read her other books.

Leonidas and Alisa are a true dream team! He is the cool head with lots of muscle and she is an inspired schemer. The plotlines was brought together with conviction. The evil villian died or did he? That remains a mystery!
Great adventure!

The characters that this author develops drive a reader a little crazy. Sometimes with laughter sometimes not believing the characters would do something that crazy.
I hope there are more crazy characters flowing to the top of the author's writing list.

That seems to be a running theme in my reactions to reading any Lindsay Buroker series, I can't believe it's over! The Fallen Empire series ended with action, action, action! No spoilers here, but I wouldn't have minded finding out who's on a certain wedding guest list.....

Great way to end the series. I could see it go on for longer and I wish it did since I love it so much. But, it had to end and this wraps up a lot. Had to take a pause between this and the next series, but the next one is just as great. Sky Full of Stars.

The story caught my attention and kept me anxiously awaiting the next relase to continue reading the story. I read lots of books and like it when I can read a series without waiting years for the next episode. Hope there may be a next generation story coming from this one.

A good conclusion to the series. It continued on in a strong fashion, withOUT a disappointing ending. Of course, like all her series, the conclusion leaves rooms for (perhaps even promises) further adventures that might get chronicled at a further time.

I adore the characters, the quirky sense of humor throughout , excellent action sequences, and the expectation that the author will come up with something surprising and unexpected at the turn of a page.

Don't want to leave this universe, or these people! Can we have more?
Returning from the empire-ending war, scruffy misfit space freighter captain with oddball uniquely talented crew and passengers wanders the post-empire star system with sympathetic lethal cyborg (a former enemy colonel) to rescue her kidnapped daughter, tangling with far-flung mafia clans and megalomaniac artifact-wielding mage relatives along the way.

I've enjoyed reading all four books in this series. The characters were likable, amusing and truly interesting. It's the character relationships that kept me wanting to read more. I'll be looking for future books from Lindsay Buroker.

I loved this entire series and hope there will be some spin off to keep the story going. The characters and action keep this final book as exciting as the rest. I love space opera and strong female characters. This series has delivered both.

What a wonderful series this was! I loved the entire set of books. I don't often read sci fi, as so many authors don't know how to create a story that is also an adventure in this genre. Almost non stop action, this series doesn't disappoint.

I continue to be impressed and entertained by the originality and quality of this series, from compelling characters who upend their tropes to action that serves to advance and support the plot, the whole thing was a remarkable amount of FUN!

Hands down one of the best series I have read in a long time. Lindsay Broker is the queen of creating characters that endear themselves to readers. Alisa is my kind of girl and this book was a fitting conclusion to this chapter in her life.

I enjoyed that each book was a stand alone story. Of course, I had to know what happened next with Alexia and her Nomad crew/family. Great wrap up to the series, with a possible (?) Adventure along with the next generation.

I gave the series 5 stars because once I started in I couldn't put it down. At times I would start laughing and "snorting" . Love, love the characters and hope maybe a follow-up series is in the works.

I really liked this last one in the series. I found the whole series pretty enjoyable and I felt the writing was a bit better in this last installment. I look forward to future space opera this author may write.

Light hearted and quirky, written with a natural narrative flow. All books in the series are great reads. Some unique elements, and some concepts that may have been borrowed from some of the greats. Steam punk, the Jedi, notes of Firefly. Well done.

What a great way to wrap up this series! Alias and Leonidas have gone to great lengths to find Jelena and Lindsay has captured the struggle and hardship in fine form through the whole series. I highly recommend the series and YES 4 stickers are just perfect for combat armour.

As usual, Lindsay has delivered a ton of entertainment, while keeping her editing generally clean. This series has been one of my favorites. It's generally very light, but there are deeper questions and thoughts lingering below the surface. Thank you for a great read!

I, like many other readers, am sorry to have reached the end of the Star Nomads adventures. I am however keeping my fingers crossed in hopes of more stories about that family.
Well done Lindsay!

I am so sad that this is the ending!! I would have like to have little adventure books of their travels since the whole gang was finally settled. I hate to give any spoilers but beware. I am very happy with the happy ending. I love Leonidus. I am glad that someone did come back in this book. The story was so action packed and I could so see this whole series as a tv series or movie. It has a strong plot with well developed characters and full of action and humor. Even tho certain story lines have been completed this book is kinda like star trek in that it could go on and on because the possibilities are endless for "little" adventures as they transport cargo and the characters grow older and develop in their skills and relationships with each other. Lindsay Buroker you did an awesome job writing this series!!! Thank you very much!!

Alisa has finally been reunited with her daughter Jelena, but unfortunately she still can't turn her back on all the chaos and danger and just go back to to running freight. She has a promise to Jelena to keep: To retrieve the girl's best friend Prince Thorian from the rogue starseer Tymoteusz (who just happens to be Alisa's uncle), who also has the incredibly powerful Staff of Lore in his possession and is planning to use it to take over the entire system. And then there's the Alliance (who aren't currently Alisa's biggest fans), and a bunch of Mafia bosses, and all kinds of other complications. Perfect conditions for a high stakes rescue mission in the middle of events that could reshape the future of the whole star system, really.
Action, fun, mother-daughter bonding, some decidedly less child-appropriate bonding between Alisa and her favourite cyborg... the final installment in this immensely entertaining series has everything its fans could wish for. An extremely satisfying ending all around, though I'd gladly spend more time with all these characters and their crazy adventures. Can't wait to see what the promised upcoming spin-off has in store!

I've enjoyed this series so much I really hated to see it end. Lindsay did an excellent job and the end was fitting. I must say I really love the characters. She has endowed many of them with such great senses of humor and it adds greatly to the feel of the book. I look forward to reading any books written by this author as I really appreciate her style of writing.

While I regret that this installment was the last of the Fallen Empire series, it certainly was a satisfying, exciting and remarkable one. As always, Lindsay Buroker wrote a story filled with love, humor and edge of your seat action. I continue to be a huge fan and look forward to reading her work for a long time to come.

Really fun series to read. Wonderful characters. Great banter. Sure it's science fiction and is set in the future but the story, characters, and relationships can be placed anywhere in any time. Sad to read the last book. Hope that Marchenko, Leonidas and team return soon.
