I originally purchased this book for my high school nieces and nephews as I have children ages 5 & 8. Before deciding to package it I began reading a few chapters as I wanted to confirm the high ratings for the book. Ultimately, "I" ended up KEEPING it for me & my husband. I was beyond pleased with the information it provides, tips & knowledge from the author & sources. I know we will most definitely used it as we help our children make the right decisions for their future. A must read-book for all!

I seriously wish this book had been written such that I could have read it in high school. Things your teen will consider cool (which also happen to be life-enriching). Perfect gift for teens (whom, lets face it, are near impossible to buy for).

Bought this for my niece after reading all the reviews. Sounded good natured and innocent. I read through it when it came and found some of the ideas to be inappropriate, ESPECIALLY for young girls! I would never tell my little girl that she should skinny dip, throw a drinking party when her parents are gone, condone having sex and learning about Planned Parenthood...etc. Needless to say I did some editing and the remaining ideas were cute and appropriate. They included family values, volunteering, learning good habits...etc. I was a bit disappointed that NONE of the 12 reviews for this book had even mentioned this stuff!

When it arrived, I looked at the chapters. A couple of the chapters had discussions of issues that I would rather discuss with him myself than for it to come from a book. They seemed to encourage the teens to do things that I would not approve of my son doing and even talked to the kids about knowing more than their parents and taking care of the planet better than we did. I don't like parental authority being undermined and belittled at a time when our society needs stronger parental involvement. I sent it back and my son will not be reading it with my permission.

If you are a parent who doesn't feel a preteen is ready for "the talk" or is one of those people who thinks things like skinny dipping are outrageous then no not the book for your kid. If you are open minded and realize kids will do this stuff anyway then it's great. I love the community service pages and is a well rounded book.

I got a used book and it had some light pencil marks but easily erase able and came well before I expected which was great.

I got this as a gift for me junior in high school. There are some really fun ideas, some things she's already done and some things she will probably never do. Overall, it is a fun way to help inspire any teenager to branch out and try something new. For those days when she says she's bored, she can use this book to get some ideas of useful things to do with her time.

It's often difficult to think of gifts for my teenage grandchildren. As avid book reader, I do love to give books to the kids, but choosing a book can also be a challenge. When I stumbled upon this book, I knew immediately that it would be a WINNER! And it was! My 15-year-old granddaughter (and her parents!) loved the book. She has been checking off the "To Do" items she's already accomplished, and making lists of future "To Do's". This is a Must-Give gift for all parents and grandparents of high school students!

This book includes such things as "go skinny dipping" , I thought it was going to be an intelligent book about preparing for the future that I could share with my teens, but much of it is just stupid. Waste of money, I am going to throw it away, I can't even think of anyone to give it to.

97 things to do before you finish high school
By Cindy
This book provides eye opening information which shows you how to prepare your self for a personal development like. How to create a journal, how to look closely to a work of art this kind of things relate to you and teaches you how to improve or prepare your self for the future. These are things that most people don't think about in high school.
This book covers all the most significant things that you can relate, to and it is really interesting how things have there own way of teaching. Young people would really appreciate reading this book because everything would make sense and it will be way easier to try to do something when you have confidence.
Before I even read this book I never thought I would ever do something that could embarrassed me, like confess to a crush. Come on, a girl like me would never ask a guy out, but now that I have read that section in the book and learned me that every one should have confidence and trust them self's. You really don't loose anything and you'll get it over with. Buy this book! It is a great guide for teenagers.

This book, although in a small pocket sized format, is an excellent source of inspiration for things to do before high school is over and you ask yourself "Why did i never take a roadtrip with friends?" or "Why did i ever have that fundraiser for my local SPCA i promised myself i would organize?" As someone who is about to graduate high school, i feel this book covers all those things i still want to do and gives tips on how to do them. I determined my blood type, cooked a three course meal and even hosted my own film festival. These were just some of the suggestions from the book. I plan on giving this too all my friends!

(sub headline) Be party smart:
2.If alcohol somehow finds its way into your party, make sure to monitor it carefully;it is illegal, and if people drink too much, get crazy,or get hurt, you’re screwed."

#16 Read one another’s palms

Chapter 4:for your body:

#39 Know your silhouette and colors:
"Some department stores employ image consultants whoo love to talk alll day about this stuff (think carson from queer eye for the straight guy),and many cosmetic counters do the same."

#40 learn about safe sex

Chapter six:to express yourself:

#59 Write you manifesto
How to do it (subheadline)

There are a lot of great ideas in this book despite some of the negative ones here,i think most mature young adults and parents can go through the book and extract some good information it,but there are a lot of better ones out threre.

97 Things was full of amazing ideas. It was fun to read, creative, and completely doable! I loved the format, the style, the points of information through out the book... everything. As I'm still in my sophomore year in highschool, I was excited to find a book that gave me so many ideas on making my life more interesting. School can be completely boring somethimes!

I would recommend this book to any highschooler who likes trying new things. 97 things to do before you finish highschool is a MUST read.

Before I read this book, I though High-School was going to be a depressing four years full of Bullies and beer breath that I would just have to block out and bear. But now, thanks to this magnificent read, I have things to do, ways to connect with people--even conversation pieces if your desperate. This book takes everything that should be good about highschool and serves it to you with a side of onion rings. A must have for a bored teen.

As a teen myself, I know (especially during the summer) how hard it can be simply to find meanful activities to fill your days when all you ant to do is catch up on lost sleep. I really enjoyed 97 Things simply because the activites listed in it are realistic and hold great potential for a fun or meaningful experience, whether by yourself or with friends (trust me, I tried both). 97 Things's condensed form and pure practicality make it a great summer handbook or otherwise. Great companion for any middle through high-schooler!

97 things to do before you finish high school is a great book! It is the first book that I have read out there for teenagers, that actually acknowledges (and doesn't condone) the fact that teenagers do more than go to class. It is very unusual that adults, much less a book would recognize that teenagers just want to be teenagers. This book is filled with fun and usual suggestions: like how to go on a road trip (safely) or how to have a party (again safely.) 97 things looks at teenage life through their eyes, but with an adult perspective about health and danger issues. This is the book is a must have!

This book was absolutely fantastic. I enjoyed it because it had so many ideas, and a lot of the suggestions were things that I had once wanted to do but totally forgot about! It's such a fun book and it just summarizes my whole to do list for high school. I also love the way that it's organized, with the different sections like "For your personal developement" and "For your body." I think that it's the perfect christmas or birthday gift for a teen.

I bought this for my 14 yr old daughter for Christmas and have really enjoyed going through it. While she obviously won't do everything listed in the book, it gives her some great ideas and goal setting tips.

I absolutely enjoyed this book. There were so many ideas about small things that make the high school experience more fulfilling that I haven't even thought about. Some of the things in this book I have already done and I have already recommended this book to a friend. It was a lot of fun to think about how meaningful a lot of the things that you do before you graduate high school really are. And the not doing of some of these things are the things that a lot of people regret not doing later in life.

Great book! I'm in my sophomore year starting this September and it's silly and is a stress reliever to read some of them lol. Yeah, some are inappropriate but it's reality that all teenagers will skinny dip once in there highschool career, trust me lol. A super cute book, I'm 15 and love it .

I absolutely love this book. I'm a senior in high school and havent satisfied much besides spening a lot of money on off campus lunch. This book goes into dept of things I should do from taking roadtrips, holding a fashion show, trying martial arts and cooking and tells me how to do it easily. I bought it sort of half-heartedly thinking my child would chuck it, however, he was very interested, read it for several days and marked some pages for things he would actually like to do that were listed in the book. It was a stocking stuffer and the item he appears to have liked the most.
