M.D. Cooper is an outstanding writer, creative, inventive. He really tells a great story. I know Destiny Lost is in the middle of a series of books of which all have taken me by surprise, what a find. I can't wait for the next one.

I’m only a few pages into this book and thinking this might be enough. The writing is pretentious: “Cargo paused, appearing to ponder the statement with great cogitation.” I’ll give it a few more pages, but I’m not optimistic it will get any better.

In the tradition of classic sci-fi really enjoyed the characters and their unique personalities. Couldn't put it down. Drama and lots of creative technical descriptions. Getting the next book immediately but hoping for a snow day to start it.

Cooper offers old school ST of the finest kind, with adventure, intrigue, action, and a largely unflattering reflection on humanity's deepest nature.

The only drawback is the mediocre copyediting.

I lost many hours of sleep because of this book. Had me glued from the start. For me one of the most important parts of a good story is the characters. The author knows his characters well and how they would interact with each other and different situations. You won't regret buying this one!

Love this series! Bringing in a new viewpoint certainly mixed things up a bit; I like the second new character *almost* as much as Tanis. Thoroughly love this entire series. Continuing to work my way through it book by book!

This was the first book in the Aeon 14 universe that I read. I was just curious, but I'm glad I did. It's fast paced action sprinkled with some cool geeky science stuff and it's a lot of fun. Sera reminds me of Capt Reynolds from Firefly and Han Solo from that other franchise... :-D

Great book, recommend it.

Dynamite book series! If you hunger for good scifi story telling, you'll love the Aeon 14 universe! I've read a lot of good scifi but this author blows me away with the detail and immersion, the character development, the science and the pulse pounding action! Highly recommended!

This series gets better with each book, Tanis is been moved not willing. But her luck turns when she is helped along by the crew of the ship Sabrina. They are able to return to the intrepid, but the fun has just began.

Little spoiler! I am so enjoying this series! The journey of Tanis and Sera was both surprising and exciting and expanded the depiction of the universe and all of its galaxies in this wonderful futuristic world. I was so happy to see Tanis made it back to Intrepid and look forward to the next facet of this space opera! So much going on here both technically and character-wise. Wonderful sci fi! I remain an avid fan!

This is the first book I have read on this series of the Ad on books. I have so thoroughly enjoyed Destiny Lost, I am going to have to go back and take a look at the first 13 books, not to mention checking out New Canaan in the Orion War section.

As for why I liked this one so much, great characterization, pacing, and dialog all hit the mark. I didn't have to go back and read the other books just to catch up. Excellent writing!

Last book I felt dragged a bit but this one made up for it! Something is constantly going on and we get to meet new characters, some of whom seem remarkably similar to characters we have already met, but I liked them so I didn't let it bother me. New technology and fun things happen. Good ending not left hanging finally. You know there is more going in the future but we can wait for that in another series.

This is a GREAT continuation of the Intrepid Saga! That said don't let it stop you from buying this book even if you haven't read any others (Though it will make you want to read them all!). This is a great book and can easily stand alone. It is full of action, adventure, great and fantastical SF. The characters are firmly fleshed out and the story-line does a great job of keeping you on the edge of your seat.

This book is a pivotal moment in the story of Tanis Richards and the Intrepid colonists. It's definitely worth reading and it starts a fantastic story arch in the Aeon 14 universe.

There's a lot of hard science fiction and amazing character development.
