WOW! This is the BEST paranormal romance I’ve read in a long time. Wicked Edge is book 2 of Rebecca Zenetti’s Realm Enforcer series, and I have to say that it literally grabbed onto me like a Pitbull with its favorite chew toy. There was always something going on, NOT A SINGLE DULL MOMENT!

Rebecca did an OUTSTANDING job with the paranormal elements. She added an AMAZING cast of characters that ranged from Witches, Demons and yes even Vampires. They all have special abilities that knocked my socks off.

Daire Dunne was an EXCELLENT hero! He is a witch enforcer whose job is to protect and eliminate any possible threats. He is a SEXY alpha motorcycle, helicopter flying, fighting machine and he will do anything to keep the ones he loves safe.

Cee Cee, the heroine, was my favorite character. She was a complete bad ass and was willing to put her life on the line time and time again to keep her three sons safe from the evil clutches of Ivan Bychkov. Ivan killed her mate many years ago and since then Cee Cee had been making plans to take him out.

The action was not the only thing that captured my attention, the sexual tension and heat added in SCORCHED. I just love reading Paranormal romances where the H&h mate, it’s SO DARN HOT!

I highly recommend ALL paranormal romance lovers who enjoy reading an action packed and passionate read to give this series try.

Warning this book has a lot violence and I do not recommend it to those faint of heart.

Special Note; This series should be read in order.

A Zanetti fan, the first book in the Realm Enforcers series was somewhat of a letdown since the h was a complete dud for me. I did love all the other characters so I had high hopes for this book and I was not disappointed.

Wicked Edge ended up being a wild ride, and perfect for a lazy Saturday. Daire, Kellach’s brother (the H from Wicked Ride), is the perfect grumpy, edgy alpha. He meets his match in CeeCee, our little demon on a mission. Thought to be weak by others because she lacks certain abilities, she is anything but and has been planning her revenge against Ivan Bychkov for decades. Where Daire is cool, calculated and organized, CeeCee is a little whirlwind of chaos causing mayhem wherever she goes. I enjoyed the interaction between these two and their chemistry was scorching hot.

CeeCee’s repeated attempts to escape Daire and the method she kept using did get on my nerves after a while. I was as fed up with it as Daire was. At one point, I thought she was skirting dangerously close to TSTL territory in her determination to go it alone, but when her reason for trying to keep Daire out of things was revealed, I understood and I ended up really liking CeeCee as an h.

This is one of those series that includes side characters that absolutely make the books ten times better. I loved once again getting a Logan and Garret fix, even if it was just a taste this time. I would have liked to have had more of their antics to laugh about, although CeeCee made up for it with some of hers. Zane, Sam, and Logan’s reaction to Daire’s relationship with CeeCee was hilarious. I’m hoping Adam will get his story told soon, along with one for Simone and Nick. Simone especially seems to have major trouble heading her way and I can’t wait to see how it works out.

Wicked Ride (prior book) was good, I thought, but suffered from the plague if being the first book in a paranormal series. Nearly every single paranormal series I have read has shown the first book to be the one I like the least. It just seems the author has to work so hard to set up the world for the series, including the rules since it is paranormal, that it suffers either in the characterization or the reader is just lost.

Here we get a book 2. The world is set up already in book 1, and we have met all the characters in book 1 or the prior vampire series. (Note here I would highly recommend you do indeed read book 1 of this series before 2, but the vamp series is just connected not required.) As the setup is complete, this book and the action just exploded right from the very first chapter and never lets up. Our heroine, Cee Cee, is far from a wimp despite her challenges. Those who live strong females should like her. She had brains, beauty and a solid plan. Our hero, Coven 9 Enforcer, Daire, sometimes is left steps behind and racing to catch his fast-moving heroine. Good for her as he needed his orderly life shaken up some.

That drug-themed plot from book 1 unfolds some here but still is nowhere near resolved. A couple evil guys are exposed and/or defeated but again the plot thickens and continues. This is the main reason I say read book 1 first. And of course I can't wait for the next book. Love, love this author and series. She writes complex, richly detailed plots and doesn't skimp on the romance while doing so. Each secondary character of course is interesting enough to deserve his/her own novel so I'm sure I'll be tuning in for a while to come.

My thanks to the publisher via Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book to read and provide an honest review.

Daire Dunne was ready to take a quick break from Enforcer duties but is soon off on another hunt when a sexy blonde drugs him and steals valuable files in this pulse-pounding paranormal romance.

Cee Cee is implementing her perfect plan for revenge against an enemy that destroyed her family and the reader can’t help but get caught up in the explosive passion and action as Cee Cee leads Daire on one heck of a chase. The chemistry between Daire and Cee Cee is a powder keg of hot and steamy passion just waiting to explode but this relationship is a bubbling cauldron of fireworks and energetic sparks that is on a hair trigger. These strong compelling characters demand reader’s attention from the very beginning and the fast paced, smooth flowing plot keeps the adrenaline pumping with lots of suspense, excitement and romance.

Cee Cee is one determined demon and the reader can’t help but feel the excitement that exudes from the pages as she sets her plan in motion which is full of exciting action, suspense, and passionate encounters with spine tingling tension building as the enemy retaliates with some rather nefarious plans of his own. The vivid images painted by the author with her well written scenes and details make it easy to become completely caught up in the story and the exhilarating events ensure that there is never a dull moment.

Okay, the Realm Enforcers are one seriously sexy bunch and I have to say that Daire just might be the sexiest one but Cee Cee is one crazy and sexy woman and her exuberance vibrates off the pages and really draws the reader along as sets out to take down her enemy and the clashes between Daire and Cee Cee adds quite a bit of sexy spice as well as some chuckles and I really can’t wait to find out what happens next in this fascinating world.

Daire Dunne is an Enforcer for the Coven 9. He's currently undercover as a member of the Titans of Fire MC in order to find out who is distributing a drug that is deadly to both humans and witches.

When he sees Cee Cee across the room at a Titans party, he takes her home. She soon tranquilizes him and steals sensitive, secret files. Cee Cee is on a personal mission and is out for revenge for her family.

But what happens when Daire catches up to her and finds out who--and what--she really is?

...

WICKED EDGE a wild ride. Not only does Cee Cee get the drop on an Enforcer, but then she's off on a deadly mission. And when Daire catches up to her, it's danger followed by adventure followed by danger... This book doesn't take place at the MC like WICKED RIDE did, but takes place all over the world. It's romantic suspense at its finest.

But the biggest surprise of the book is Cee Cee's true identity. It's jaw dropping and causes all sorts of complications. But the interactions between her and her family and Daire and her family provide a lot of comic relief in the book. Cee Cee is fearless and adventurous, which Daire comes to appreciate. Her family thinks she's just plain nuts. You'll enjoy her family, but that's all I can say without giving away her identity.

The previously grumpy and laconic Daire is, well, grumpy. But he's very protective and Cee Cee sees underneath and thinks he's sweet.

We don't see much of Kellach in this book, but we do see Adam and Simone. Adam and Tori's and Simone and Nick's books are set up. I can't wait!

Wicked Edge by Rebecca Zanetti is book two in the newer Realm Enforcers series coming off of the Dark Protectors. I must admit I was happy to see some of the Realm Warriors make an early appearance in this book. Even though that war is over, I love being able to keep up with what is happening with the Kayrs.

As to be expected from a Rebecca Zanetti paranormal book, there is plenty of action, danger (with a riveting attacking polar bears scene), suspense, and hot romance. There are enough twists especially with the main female character, Cee Cee to keep the story from being predictable. The attraction being Daire and Cee Cee is smoking but it does not overwhelm the main focus of Cee Cee’s final end game goal.

The hero is a hard-hitting rough and tough Enforcer. The heroine is just as tough but even more she is determined to complete her mission no matter the cost. Daire and Cee Cee make a finely matched pair. I enjoyed the push and pull of their encounters which lead into a relationship. I also liked how Cee Cee held her own with Daire. Her stubbornness worked in this story to make her a stronger more complex character.

This story builds on some of the continuing conflicts from the first book of the series. However, it read well enough as a stand-alone. Still, I think reading these books in order will provide the best enjoyment.

Book two in Ms. Zanetti’s Realm Enforcers series follows Daire Dunne. The oldest and grumpiest (his words not mine) of the Dunne brothers. Daire has been undercover with his brothers trying to find out who is producing Apollo a drug that is deadly to both humans and witches. But while that should be Daire main focus in life his attention has just be fixated on a petite little blond with a sassy month and a pension for druging him.
Cee Cee is awesome. She is meek, mild and no one would ever guess the warrior or craziness that lives in her. She is the perfect fit for Daire. Cee Cee challenges Daire every step of the way in this book. And Daire is not known for his patients :) . But I loved these two together. I love seeing how each adapted to the other in order to meet in the middle and get the job done. I loved Cee Cee’s secrets *wiggles eyebrows*. Some of these secrets were shocking and almost ended with a few less head on bodies.
I am really enjoying the Realm Enforcers series and can not wait to see what and who is next. Both Adam and Simone need to go down!!!! I also want to know who, what and why the Coven Nine is targeting Simone. Makes me wonder what secrets she is hiding. Until next time Realm Enforcers!!!!

First of all, let's try to clear up some of the rumors I've been hearing right now. Wicked Edge and the Realm Enforcer's Series as a whole, is NOT an MC contemporary novel. Far from it. It is a continuation of the incredible, delectable Dark Protector's series, with the focus being in the human world. The MC aspect only has to do with the Dunne brothers' ongoing investigation on the deadly drug taking out witches, Apollo. Don't get me wrong, Zanetti has used what little MC activity within these books to its full capacity making for some very adrenaline pumping fight scenes. And the rival MC? A group of Grizzly Bear shifters, so in no way shape or form are these contemporary novels.

That being said, I'm loving it. The guest appearances, the tie ins, the relationships/matings that are continuously bonding the families that fans already know and love are fangtastic, without being overwhelmingly so. The Realm Enforcers is a strong enough series to develop a fan base on its own while more than enough to keep Dark Protector fans from going into withdrawals.

Daire Dunne is more than sure that fate has planned for him to find a mate that will be obedient, docile and completely organized. He finds out just how far from the truth that is after he ends up being drugged by the "enhanced human" he brings home with him for a night of fun in the sack. What he gets is far more complications in his life than he ever thought possible, along with a possible lead on the witch helping with the making of Apollo. If he can survive the woman fate has brought kicking and screaming into his life, he may be a few steps closer to closing his case.

Cee Cee has plenty more secrets than just what her name is and her true species, and she's very good at keeping them. She has been plotting for almost thirty years revenge against the demon who killed her mate, and the time has come to put all of those crazy plans to action. As strategically as she has everything planned there should be no complications, except for the deadly enforcer she pissed by drugging once, or twice. Not that she's really keeping count or anything. Cee Cee has had her life decided for her since birth due to not having the same powers as her brethren, but now her time has come to show everyone how strong she truly is. But will she survive to enjoy the outcome?

Fast-paced, action packed edge of your seat plots and characters readers can't help but love. This is a Paranormal novel to be loved regardless of gender. A true must read, right along with the rest of the series.

I do have to say first off that I think I liked this one better than the first one because you know more about what is going on. That Daire also thinks he is all that and he certainly is but he will meet more than his match. Cee Cee might be something he is looking for but she will give him something unexpected that will set the wheels turning in a chase that will be the beginning of their forever. Gleefully you will see her take him down and start her plans that will have him chasing her, good thing for her but will be the first of many turbulent adventures in fulfilling her plans. Humor also when her kids find out their mom is doing some crazy things and with Daire of all people whom they blame haha. It also will be the start in shutting down some serious places that is harmful to alot of people but also a set up is in the works that comes to light. Another thing that comes to light is exactly who Cee Cee is and just how special she is. I like that when they come together they both get something special that neither was looking for or expecting. Needless to say this author has done it again a provided another fabulous read that even though it is wicked it is also delicious.

There's just something about this world that RZ has created that I just cannot get enough of! Every character from male to female lead or just periphery characters and even the bad guys are always so easy to love or hate and it sucks me in completely each time. I don't want to ruin even one aspect of this story but let me say it is a must read for Dark Protectors lovers and those who love the Realm Enforcer series too! Daire Dunne is just as amazingly alpha as the rest of our males and at times so sweet it was perfect. CeeCee, well let's just say CeeCee was a complete surprise and I couldn't have imagined a better way to bring these series more together than how it was done. We get glimpses of Logan and Garrett and some other Realm characters, plus Simone and Nick(who I can't wait to get a story on) plus Kellach and Daire's other brother Adam! Honestly you will not be disappointed with this and it is a must read and buy! It's already been preordered for my library anyway but after this.....I just can't wait to read it again when once it releases!

Rebecca Zanetti writes some wickedly sexy paranormal and sci-fi stories that keep our adrenaline flowing, with spine chilling confrontations and passionate and lustful encounters that melt even the ice-cold glaciers!
Book two in the Realm Enforcers, puts Daire Dunne in the cross hairs of beauty and danger. As the enforcer of the Coven Nine he has his job cut out for him, but nothing prepares him for the drugged lust and attraction he feels for the sexy Cee Cee, little knowing that this is one dangerous lady on a mission.
Cee Cee finally has the intel to avenge the death of her family. With the people responsible for the death of her husband in sight, she has no time for the alpha Daire or his rules. But a lady gotta do what she’s gotta do to reach her goal as she kicks ass and Daire is one unhappy enforcer left woozy!. Circumstances put them in each other’s company to protect Cee Cee and keep her safe as he supports her in her mission.
And what we get is another action packed story as Rebecca Zanetti takes her readers on a ride of danger, death, betrayal and love. It amazes me the plot that she comes up to keep her readers captivated and have them at the edge of their seats! And it is no easy task to keep a series going with the same momentum and passion!

I will admit, I didn't realize who the heroine would be in this book until the family clash. But wow! What a way to continue this series. Rebecca Zanetti's Dark Protectors and spinoff Real Enforcers continue to be my favorite paranormal series. The perfect blend of sex, sin, and alluring story, while also having character depth that most books lack. If ever there was a relatable paranormal series this one would be it. Of course we can't relate to the actual goings-on, but the emotions the characters experience are quite relatable and enjoyable. It almost made this book go by too fast, but I enjoyed every bit of it.

Wicked Edge is about Daire and Cee Cee, readers will be quite surprised about who her family is, but it adds a dynamic to this book that I think was welcome and needed. Though these two have enough chemistry to self-combust, it was nice to have an added element to this storyline that kinda linked back to the original series. I would hands down recommend this book (and the rest of the books) to any reader. They're very intense and sexy and terrific reads. I don't think there's been one yet that I skimmed, I fully immerse myself in each one and full-heartedly get lost in the wicked world Ms. Zanetti has built. I will confess that I am SO stoked for the next books. There are always so many characters that we get to know that I want to read about and here how they get their HEA, so I will definitely be waiting not so patiently for the next installment!

Rebecca Zanetti is an amazing world builder and this great new book–the second in a new series that branches off of the Dark Protectors world–continues the trend. Here we’re concentrating on the Realm Enforcers and they are as alpha as you can get! If you love romantic suspense with a paranormal slant, this book will be right up your alley but I’d suggest you read at least the first one if not the previous series so you’re not too lost.

You might want to fill out a scorecard to keep track of all the factions and how well they’re playing with each other because MAN these characters love to fight! The politics change frequently and sometimes the group that’s your enemy in the morning suddenly becomes your ally by midnight. Daire Dunne, a Witch Enforcer for Coven Nine, gets seduced and abandoned by a gorgeous blonde human he met in a bar. Since he’s usually the one doing the dumping, he’s a little pi$$ed, especially when she blows up the place as she leaves him unconscious on the floor. When he finally catches up to her days after their aborted one night stand, he’s stunned when he discovers her true identity. WTF?! He thought for sure she was a human, and her true identity is going to get him in a lot of trouble with her family–and they’re not exactly on the same team. How’s it going to play with his family and Coven Nine?

CeeCee’s got a lot on her plate. She’d married young, had kids early, and was widowed years ago. Now, she’s been freed from her mating bond and has a long life ahead of her–she’s ready to get crazy and live a little! She’s not ready to sit around knitting and be a grandma. She’s finally escaped her overbearing, protective sons only to land under the thumb of uber protective Daire. Who takes on her quest as his personal mission. He’s half in love with her and has decided that he needs to protect her–which really steams her up. She doesn’t need a keeper!

This book combines a lot of species infighting and has multiple plots running simultaneously–really a lot of fun to read and keep up with. The writing is intense and compelling, with hot sex and funny inside jokes keeping the momentum going. You’ll laugh and you’ll get frustrated right along with the hero and heroine. I find myself taking sides and then switching and then switching back again–it’s a hoot! The scenarios may be a little over the top since it’s paranormal, but you’ll recognize the exchanges between the couples from your own life–completely relatable. This book is a great escape from your normal life, combining exciting action with smoking sexual chemistry that packs a power all its own! Read it for the action, enjoy it for the emotions. Thanks!

Book Review- Wicked Edge by Rebecca Zanetti

Daire Dunn is a Coven Nine enforcer. He and his brothers are still looking for the Apollo manufacturers. They are trying to stop the drug before it finds its way to Dublin and starts being used on witches. Daire and his brothers are undercover with the Fire MC and since Kellach is in Dublin with his mate Alexandra, Daire is on duty.
While at the MC’s latest party he crosses paths with CeeCee. She has a plan and she is not above using an enforcer to make it happen. She lets him take her home with him. She lets him kiss her and even kisses him back, then she drugs him and steals the information she needs. She has plantkite mines to destroy. She sticks to her plan meeting up with the man she hired to help her.
Of course, her hired help went with someone who would pay him more to deliver her. She fights back but is found at that exact moment by a pissed off enforcer. Daire rescues her from the double crossing mercenary and a pack of polar bears. He is drawn to her and the attraction between them is electric.
However CeeCee is determined to follow through with her plan and Daire is not a part of it. She tries to get rid of him again by drugging him. This time the Bears get pulled in and her real identity comes out. Daire is shocked at who she is and how crazy she appears to be. He gets pulled into her schemes because he refuses to let her go alone. His protection is non-negotiable. He robs a bank with her and has to save her youngest son. When she is taken he and her two oldest sons have to join forces to save her. They have to plan how to save her and their brother. Working together they are able to complete CeeCee’s plan but at what cost to them?
I love this author. I have read several books and loved them all. So far I’m enjoying this new series about the enforcers tremendously. I’ve read Kellach’s story and was instantly hooked. Couldn’t wait to get my hands on the next one. Of course it had to be Daire’s story. I knew it would be something else. I enjoyed how CeeCee got the better of him twice. It was hilarious to watch when he realized what she did. He definitely met his match. They danced around each other continuously as the storyline progressed. She wanted to do things on her own and he wanted to protect her. Then throw in her three sons and watch the fireworks begin. I was completely entertained.
There was lots of action and double crossing. The storyline about the Apollo drug continues in this book and beyond. There is someone trying to take down the Coven Nine and Simone. So it will be interesting to see the direction the author takes the story. I can’t wait to see what happens next. The enforcers are an absolute blast to read about. I give this book a 5 out of 5.

After the intro to the Dunne brothers and the carry over of the characters from Dark Protectors in book one, I was revved and ready for Wicked Edge. I found this sequel just as engaging as book one and loved that it was heavy on the paranormal with the suspense, action, and passion to make it one sizzling story.

As I mentioned, this is book two though really its so strongly connected with Dark Protectors that I would recommend getting that series and then continuing right along with the Realm Enforcers series.

Daire Dunne is busy about his mission of locating the person creating the designer drug that kills humans and witches alike. He has infiltrated a motorcycle club since they distribute the stuff, but he has yet to discover their contact. But even the organized and focused Daire needs a night off and when he sees the gorgeous woman at the club, he takes it. And that's how he finds himself drugged and his files stolen by the mysterious CeeCee who is more than she appears to be.

CeeCee knew knocking out a Covenant Nine Enforcer and stealing his files on the mine locations has set him firmly on her trail. But after meeting Daire, she's pretty sure she miscalculated and having him as an enemy isn't a good idea. But she has carefully plotted things out and will hopefully achieve her goal before he catches up. And then it won't matter.

Daire tracks down CeeCee and finds she has gotten herself into trouble and he can't believe how quickly and deadly. But he will have his answers from her- and maybe more. He is drawn to the betraying, irritating female. And then the answers start to come and he is now vested in CeeCee's wild and dangerous ventures because they seem to cross over with his own investigations. Then he learns who she really is and it goes way beyond complicated.

This one starts after the events of book one. It gets off to a quick start. It was fun how the reader knows just enough to stay with the story and slowly the twists and reveals come. The author definitely has a gift for the action-packed fight and adrenaline scenes. The cat and mouse deal between CeeCee and Daire was a bit of fun, too. I was so left sitting with my mouth open when CeeCee's real identity was revealed. Well played, Rebecca Zanetti! Loved that one and it was an interesting dynamic to romance development.

Daire and CeeCee were a sizzling pair. They are attracted, but CeeCee's lies and secrets and the trouble she stirs up keep them from acting on it for a little while. But Daire blasts right through the lies, the scheming, and the denials. He was alpha and so perfect for the slightly flaky CeeCee. He doesn't care about stuff that others sweat over and cuts right to the chase. Refreshing!

I only really had one niggle. It was the short-sightedness of the heroine. While I respected CeeCee's quest, I saw some difficulties and potential issues. She means well and has good reasons for doing what she does, but... Her lies and her naivete were two-edged. And they cut her just the way I imagined by involving others in ways she didn't think about. I liked the story as a whole so this wasn't a huge issue, but it did distract me from complete enjoyment.

The story ended on a high note, but I am eager to continue with those tantalizing story threads left dangling.

All in all, it was fantastic and had me pulled in and engaged from cover to cover. Romantic Suspense and Paranormal Romance fans who like a lot of action, intrigue, and passion should give these a go.

My thanks to Kensington Group for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Honestly, I haven’t had so much fun reading in forever, let alone a paranormal read by way of a motorcycle read. Daire Dunne and his nemesis Cee Cee are part hilarious, part too hot to touch, and totally one of my new favorite couples.

Wicked Edge is book 2 in Zanetti’s Realm Enforcers series, a spinoff of her prolific Dark Protectors series. Set amidst the hidden paranormal world in the northwest U.S., Zanetti has created a society that has witches, demon, and vampires (that I know of, there could be more based on the summaries of her other books). Daire is a powerful witch, an enforcer that protects the Coven Nine. He’s currently working undercover in a local motorcycle club, trying to find out who is distributing Apollo, a fatal street drug to witches and humans alike. His life changes when he walks into the Titans of Fire clubhouse and his eyes land on Cee Cee. Their immediate attraction leads them back to Daire’s penthouse where they share a heated kiss…and the Cee Cee drugs him, making off with all of his files on Apollo.

So, here’s the thing: I can’t really say too much more about the plot without giving away some delicious twists. What I can tell you is that Wicked Edge is delightful. It’s funny without trying, it’s sexy, and full of well-written action that puts the reader smack dab in the middle of things like polar bear attacks, for example. Zanetti writes a well-paced story, weaving in facts of her paranormal world effortlessly while expanding it to include this new couple and the mystery surrounding Cee Cee’s revenge plot. Daire is a powerful witch and uber Alpha male who finds himself attracted to a woman who’s the complete opposite of what he thought he wanted. When she drugs him and takes off with his evidence, he follows, believing that he’s doing so to take her down, but the protector in him rears its head and he finds himself in danger while trying to keep her safe. It’s a bit of insta-love/insta-I’ve got to get in your pants, but it works because Daire seems like the type that KNOWS when he’s been ensnared. Cee Cee is as independent as they come, feisty and deadly. She’s set on revenge and nothing, and no one, is going to stop her, even those that love her. A mantle of secrets surround her and Daire is determined to uncover them. Cee Cee is the perfect foil for Daire, challenging him at every turn, yet there’s a sweetness to her that makes her the complete package of feminine beauty and strength.

If I have any issues with Wicked Edge, it’s that it’s a standalone novel that I was easily able to place right in the middle of a series (or two in this case) and it’s not really a motorcycle club book. The MC elements are peripheral, at best, and they could have been replaced with pretty much anything. I’d been looking forward to a paranormal/MC read (who wouldn’t?) and this was disappointing. And while Zanetti’s world is unquestionably fabulous, I felt like I was constantly playing catch-up with the elements of the Realm (I think that’s what the overall hidden world is called, but it’s never confirmed, which kinda proves my point). Obviously, an author can’t revisit every detail in every book, but it’s this very thing that makes me avoid picking up a book in the middle of a series. That said, I’m delighted that I read this because now I’ve got a whole series of books that I can’t wait to read. I can’t wait to get to know all of the sexy Alpha males and the women that mark them. Series romance is my absolute favorite type of book to read and knowing I’ve got 10 or so books that I know I’ll love waiting for me? Christmas come early.

4 stars of Wicked Edge. Heat level: 4

Wicked Edge is a stunning story that will keep the reader riveted to their seat and to the pages of this novel. Fast paced, action filled and full of passion, deceit and past injustices being dealt with right now – this story won’t leave much time for anything else as the story will keep you turning pages long after the time you thought you could put it down for the night.

Don’t expect any slow down from the moment Daire and Cee Cee meet the action will never take a breath until their final scene (and maybe not even then) – I love how the main alpha men of this series rarely call their ladies by the nicknames that we readers see throughout the story, to them their love’s full name is a caress, a declaration that they see the entire person – I would use Cee Cee’s full name here, but that would be giving something away so you’ll just have to read it yourself to discover that. *evil grin*

Cee Cee has a plan, several plans in fact, to enact revenge on a truly evil man for the harm he’s done to her family, her loved ones – and the dangers that he still represents in their future. Unfortunately for Daire, this is going to involve his being drugged while Cee Cee steals vital information from him. Probably not the best beginning for a couple, but then she only sees Daire as a means to an end. Daire will have other ideas, real soon.

Daire and Cee Cee will go through alot together – polar bear attacks, freezing ocean crashes, exploding banks and more. They will also experience the most amazing, wild physical attraction known to witch or demon. They are fated and while that might not have been their choice to discover in the midsts of all the other things going on – it will perhaps be a lifesaving event for them both.

While there is a motorcycle club connection in this story, one good guys one very bad guys, Wicked Edge is mainly a paranormal romance / action story with the MC as a background story.

It’s impossible to convey what an amazing, engaging and entertaining story Wicked Edge or the series Realm Enforcers are until you’ve read them for yourself. If you love your paranormal romance wickedly hot, superspeed action packed with characters you cannot help but root for – then you really need to pick up this story – now. It is simply amazing.

CeeCee seemed like an innocent, sweet young woman at the beginning of Wicked Edge, and Daire definitely agreed with me. Until he ended up flat on his back in his own apartment, drugged, and left behind. CeeCee also managed to keep everyone on their toes, because she was a very good planner, could hold her own in a fight, and had a grudge that wouldn’t disappear. Of course, Daire couldn’t let it stand that CeeCee had been able to get him that easily, so he made sure their second meeting was on his terms.

Filled with action, magic / spells, paranormal creatures and a lot of very good plotting, Wicked Edge was very well executed, and showed just enough of CeeCee to keep her interesting, and make sure Daire stayed on his toes never knowing what she’d be up to next. The main plot was carried over from Wicked Ride, and some of the characters from that story were a part of this one as well. Trying to get to the bottom of the new drug was still Daire’s main focus, but somehow, CeeCee’s revenge plot helped him get a little bit closer to finding out who was behind it, and who hated witches enough to want to get rid of them in a very ugly way.

There were some very funny twists and turns in Wicked Edge, and several that made me laugh out loud. Daire falling so completely for CeeCee but trying to stay distant and objective was fun, and as he learned more about her, there were more humorous scenes for me to enjoy. The overall plot had some darker twists, too, and I am very impatient to get my hands on Wicked Burn, to know what will happen next, and hope that my favorite enforcers will be able to stay safe when the proverbial s*** hits the fan!

Written in third person point of view, past tense, the narration was outside of the story itself, which made it easy to have an overview of the characters and the action. There are also some very well done dialogues, as well as fights, action and some fast rides in store for you when you pick up Wicked Ride.

Daire is an enforcer for the Coven Nine witches. On an undercover mission, he runs into a beautiful blonde woman who steals his breath away. Back at his house with her, he steals a passionate kiss from her that feels too good to be true. It is. The small prick he feels is from a injection, something that’s knocking him on his ass. The blonde beauty escapes with items that aren’t hers to take. The enforcer isn’t one to take things sitting down, so when he finally comes to, he’s off chasing after her. He doesn’t realize what chasing after her means.

Cee Cee has spent years plotting her revenge against her enemy. Unfortunately Daire is a stepping stone, a hot one at that, to getting what she needs. Which is sad because she’d love to explore their chemistry further. With no time for stopping, she’s off to finally get sweet justice. She doesn’t realize that her quick kiss with Daire started an attraction that has the both of them tied up with one another. This strong heroine will find that sometimes having a companion to help her is exactly what she needs.

Cee Cee was an extremely able and strong woman. She may be petite, but she hasn’t allowed anything to stand in her way. She wasn’t meek or compliant; when she saw an out, she took it. Sadly, for Daire, that meant keeping up with her…and overcoming her plans to leave him behind again and again. They fought, they made love, they fell for one another. It was non-stop action from the beginning, and the reader is along for the ride. In any paranormal world, there was quite a bit of political and world instances that were sometimes hard to keep track of, but the story was very enjoyable aside from that. Cee Cee was kickass, and I loved that Daire accepted her for who she was. He didn’t want to put a rope around the wild, but instead embrace it by using that rope to hold on.

The first book in this series was good but it wasn’t what I was expecting. I loved RZ Sin Brothers series, it is where I first fell in love with her writing and characters, and found myself yearning for that kind of drama, romance, action, protectiveness, and paranormal plots and I so got it in Wicked Edge.

I felt like the relationship between Daire and Cee Cee was more explosive than Kellach and Alexandria. The plot line was more dynamic and solid in this book. These two characters had an instant attraction when they locked eyes across the club and it held steady until Cee Cee drugged Daire for some information. Intense attraction still lingered but also this slight sliver of anger lurked in the background. This whole aspect brought some great drama to their budding relationship. They constantly fought with each other and it made them the perfect couple in my eyes. The couples that love and hate each other in the same breath is one of my weaknesses when it is done right – and RZ did it right!

So if I haven’t enticed you with this teaser of a hot relationship, maybe the pure brilliance of the paranormal plot will. All sorts of action are wrapped up in these pages. If there isn’t a fight happening between Daire and Cee Cee to get the upper hand then it is a fight against makers of planekite and sworn enemies. The writing describes each scene wonderfully so you can just picture our beloved Cee Cee and Daire kicking some butt and taking names.

A lot more goes down in the book. We get some answers and we also come across new doors that open more questions. I feel like this is going to be a great series for anyone who enjoys fighting for justice, out of this realm characters, and a little side of love (okay, a lot side of love.)

CeeCee that girl would try the patient of a saint, I think her man is handling things well all things considered, "she patted his gut. “You’re all muscle, Dunne. You could throw me quite a distance.” He growled , his temper really, really, really wanting out." Daire is a man of action, and has no patience what so ever, "heat flushed through him. “So? I’m done. Either you start talking, or I strip you naked, eff you senseless, and then you start talking .” In fact, that was a damn good idea. He pushed off from the wall." Daire may lack in patience but he makes up for that with the butterflies he puts in his woman and our stomach, "he smiled. “I’m sure, and right now, I’m only thinking about you. We can return to reality tomorrow. For now, let’s enjoy the fact that we’re here, in a bed, and you’re naked.” I'm loving this series meeting new characters, who are strong, sexy and alpha, I'm really looking forward to the next book.

This book is a thrilling ride of non-stop action, sexy alpha male, strong kick-ass female, witty dialogue and deliciously sexy scenes. In a world where humans are oblivious to coexisting with immortal vampires, demons, witches and shifters, a deadly drug emerges that kills witches and humans, alike.

Wicked Edge is the second book in the Realm Enforcers series. If you loved the Dark Protectors series, you’ll love this new series which highlight the dangerous, alpha witch enforcers from Dublin. Their mission is to protect and extinguish any threat to Witch Coven Nine. With the immortal world pretty much at peace now, a lethal drug is found being distributed in Seattle. Sexy, witch enforcer Daire Dunne, is undercover at the Titans of Fire Motorcycle Club chasing a lead on the distribution of drug when he sights pretty, petite Cee Cee. He thinks he’s taking a night to himself when he offers to take Cee Cee back to his penthouse. But she’s deadlier than she looks and drugs him to take some important papers. From that point, the story takes numerous twists and turns. I could not put the book down, I just loved the fast pace, and Daire and Felicity meshed so well together. With delicious banter, sexy scenes, and suspenseful action, Wicked Edge is fantastic paranormal romance that I recommend.

Wicked Edge is book two in Rebecca Zanetti’s Realm Enforcers Series and it’s an incredibly well-written, fast-paced, action-packed paranormal read. It’s engaging, complex, and compelling, with characters who are both captivating and entertaining to read.

Witty and intense, with a kick-ass heroine and a seriously sexy alpha witch enforcer hero, Wicked Edge is everything I wanted it to be and more. I adored the story and the world Zanetti built for these characters to move around in. I haven’t yet read the Dark Protectors series—trust me, I’m getting on that!—so I can’t comment on how much crossover there is between those books and the ones in this new series, but I do know some of the characters from the Dark Protectors series appear here, so if you’ve read those books, you’ll get a few glimpses of some of them in this new series.

If you love sexy, fun, action-oriented paranormal romance stories about witch enforcers, demons, vampires, shifters, magical drugs, and motorcycle club infiltrations, you’ll no doubt fall in love with Wicked Edge and the Realm Enforcers series like I did. It’s so good!

Final Thoughts: A fantastic read paranormal lovers and Rebecca Zanetti fans need to read. I loved it!

Daire Dunne is tired and he wants his undercover assignment to be over. He and his brothers are impersonating members of a motorcycle gang, Titans Of Fire, to find who is distributing a new lethal drug called Apollo. Apollo is deadly to witches and humans. CeeCee is at a bar where a party for the Titans is going on when Daire spots her. They leave together. When they get to Daires place CeeCee drugs Daire and takes files she needs to track the drug Apollo. Her and her sons life were ruined by the drug. CeeCee didn't count on the attraction between her and Daire. She knows he will be coming after her. He won't stand by and let his files be stolen. This is a fast paced book and the romance between Daire and CeeCee was a big part of why I enjoyed the book. Daire was a Enforcer but has a protective side as well that came out in his relationship with CeeCee.

This novel was exactly what I needed right now. It was the perfect escape from the everyday. Zanetti’s paranormal MC club is highly addictive. Plot twists came at me from left and right as I was drawn into the world that Zanetti has created. This author combines scenes that sizzle with action packed sequences that left me on the edge of my seat. The descriptions brought the world to life without detracting from the narrative & plot. The story came together as a seamless whole that was easy to get lost in.

As fun as the main characters in this novel are as individuals, as a pair they were a class act. Each time they had a scene together the sparks flew. The banter and chemistry between them was fantastic. I loved the dynamic, fighting each other yet wanting each other.

Readers really need to read the first novel in the series to get the full enjoyment out of this one. There were a couple of times when I found myself trying to recall what happened in the previous novel to get the full picture. But as a continuation of the series, this was a fantastic novel.

Wicked Edge is the second book in the Realm Enforcers series by Rebecca Zanetti. It is explosive from beginning to end...buckle your seat belt you are in for a wild ride.

Daire Dunne is one lethal Coven Nine Enforcer. He is ready for a little down time from his duties. Nothing like a sexy blonde to take his mind off of his mission...too bad she might be a little more than he can handle. One passionate kiss is enough to intoxicate him or was it the drugs she pumped in him before she trashed his apartment, stealing sensitive information. Now, he is on the hunt for this elusive woman. Can he track her down and secure the files she stole before it is too late?

Daire is one sexy, dangerous witch who takes his job as an enforcer seriously. He is definitely not a person you want to cross. Cee Cee will have to learn the hard way about his dangerous side. Cee Cee may look fragile, but she is cunning and just as dangerous as any enforcer. When Daire and Cee Cee are together sparks fly or is that just debris from their explosive encounters? This is one book I didn't want to put down. Can't wait for the next one!

Daire is a strong powerful witch that has just had his ass handed to him. A small gorgeous human has stolen something from him and he needs it back.
CeeCee has her own reasons and she will stop at nothing to get her revenge even if that means using Daire.
He finds out so much more about her than she wanted but it couldn't be helped and she knows that he can help her.
Can she get to her end game but what will it mean for them?
A really great read that kept me turning those pages and wanting more. It had a nice steady pace and I loved that we got to read more about the characters from the 1st book.
I can't wait to read Simone's story as she will kick ass. This is one great series that will be enjoyed by all her readers. I was lucky to receive a copy in exchange for an honest review via Netgalley.

Wicked Edge
The Realm Enforcers Series book 2
Release date: November 10, 2015
Review copy provided by the publisher

I love paranormal romance. I love the fantasy of things that go bump in the night. And by bump, I mean sexy shifters, vampires, etc, bumping and grinding! As much as I love this genre, I'm really choosy about which ones I read. They are not all created equal. I have read a few of Rebecca Zanetti's contemporary books and I thought they were great. I had hope that her paranormal series would resonate with me too. Not so much. This one was a DNF ( did not finish ) for me. Man, I get so sad when that happens! Seriously, it pains me to not finish a book. But alas, it happens.

There is so much going on this book. And so many secondary characters that my head hurt trying to keep everyone straight. I had hoped that this book would read like a stand alone. I felt like I was missing some background stories. I highly recommend reading book 1 before this one. Ms. Zanetti has built an intricate world full every paranormal being you can imagine. Again, a lot going on with a lot of players.

The hero, Daire, and the heroine, Cee Cee, didn't have a whole lot of chemistry outside of the bed yoga department. Now, I didn't finish the book, so maybe that changes. But I was 46% of the way through, and all I got was a "meh" feeling about them. The sex was yummy! No doubt about the hot sweaty stuff...it was good! But Cee Cee was a manipulative jerk and Daire was the masochist who was running after her all the time. I wanted to love these two, I really did! I kept waiting for that spark; it just never came for me.

I believe I gave this book a fair shot. 46% of the way through is enough for me to devote to a book that was making me think of anything BUT what the characters were getting up to. I suppose, from now on, I'll likely to stick Ms. Zanetti's contemporary reads. She's a fabulous writer! Unfortunately, this series just didn't rev me up.

This is a great book; this is the second book in the Realm Enforcers series by Rebecca Zanetti. Daire Dunne is an Enforcer for the Coven Nine and is ready for a break. When he sees a sexy blonde at Titan’s of Fire party it is not long before the sexy blonde, Cee Cee is on his Harley and back at his apartment. Cee Cee ends up drugging him and steals valuable files, he is determined to track her down. Cee Cee is determined to take down the enemy who destroyed her family. If you are looking for a hot romance, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

Woohoo - a heroine that stands her ground and doesn’t need a man to save her! Yes! Thank you, Rebecca! CeeCee is not only smart and can kick ass, she also knows how to accept help.

Daire is one enforcer who prides himself on not only being tough but not letting others outwit him, so you can imagine he was all too happy when things first transpired between him and CeeCee.

I loved that the two had chemistry and were never ashamed or held back. Loved even more that CeeCee never waivered in what her true mission was, regardless of the emotions involved.

This installment was packed with action that keeps the reader not only on the “will they be able to save” pins and needles type but also moves the story forward as well as provides so potential ideas of what’s to come.

Loving this series and can’t wait til the next one!

Wow! Zanetti has done it again. Wicked Edge was very wicked with Daire Dunne and Cee Cee story. Wicked Edge was a non-stop face past action romance that had you on the edge of your seat while holding your sides. Daire Dunne was a Coven Nine Enforcer who was so ready to take a break from Enforcing when he spied Cee Cee across the room. Once this two meet it’s when the action begins and the humor come along for the ride. Cee Cee was out for revenge on the man who killed her mate, so before she kills the man, she wanted to destroy him financially first. So of course she didn’t have time for romance, however since Daire has something she wants and Daire was looking for a good time…Wicked Edge had some good twist and turns and offered hours of entertainment. If you haven’t read the first book in this series let me ease your mind and tell you that this story is a stand-alone.

This is an awesome edition to this new series that connects with the Dark Protectors. I really enjoyed the first book Wicked Ride but this is a whole new departure. Yes the cover does unfortunately give the impression of an MC type novel but it's much much more than that. A romance yes but an adventure that is non stop with characters to amaze and more importantly it is continuing the story involving vampires demons and witches that dominate the realms. This had so much going for it that I'm loathe to say too much if honest. A fabulous book that I'd give ten stars to if I could and the author swept me away with her words. If you love paranormal stories then this book will enchant, excite and above all entertain. Highly recommended

Same old story: he meets her, they fight, they fall in love, they mate, they have some problems and then they get their happy ending. I'm a little bit tired of this stuff, I have to admit it, even if the little turn when she turns out to be a mother of three was worthy.

I don't know why they keep promoting these as biker stories. They are really a sort of continuation or spin off of the other series, Dark Protectors, which I loved. The writing is still very good. It's Zanetti; we already know she can write. The first story didn't really do much for me, trying to go in a new direction that didn't really interest me, but this one stays with the Dark Protectors story, brought in more of the original characters from Dark Protectors, lots of action and main characters I could get interested in. If the next book follows, it's a keeper. If it tries to go back and play on the MC storyline, I think it won't deliver. Stay with what you know, and Zanetti knows supernatural action romance.

Daire was undercover at the Titan's Fire Motorcycle Club. He was investigating for the witch nation. Daire was a 3 century old witch and an enforcer for his people. He was tracking a dangerous drug called Apollo that killed both humans and his people. CeeCee was a demon who drugged Daire to find out info from him.

This story had everything: Drama, Romance, Explosions, Teleporting Demons, Witches, Shifters, Insane Enemies, Traitors, and a very dangerous drug being mined. What can I say, it was the whole package and I loved it.I loved the plot and overall story as well as the characters. I highly recommend.

Daire is a witch enforcer. He meets Cee Cee, a blond full blooded demon, in a bar, while trying to find out who is making the drug Apollo. But Cee Cee is on her own mission. She is after the mines mining the main ingredient of Apollo and the owner of them, who also killed her mate. She drugs Daire and steals some files from him. The drug doesn't keep him down long and he goes after her. They go through being attacked by polar bears, a helicopter crash, being shot at and her drugging him again, to getting surprised by demons when they land and having to rescue on of her sons.
Lots of fast paced action. Some sexy scenes. A little humorous. Freaking loved it.

Much better than the first book in the series. I read the first book about a year ago and just couldn't stand the lead female so much that I put off reading this book. Felicity is much more enjoyable than Lexi. I also found the story more engaging as well and it was nice to see some of the characters from Dark Protectors. I do agree that the female leads are a little over the top in this series so far with their "independence" but I still found this to be an enjoyable book.

So much fun! Daire and his mate are so much fun. I do not want to share her name. It certainly surprised me. What an adventure. Much better story than Kell and Lex’s. Awesome! I cant say enough about this book! I started the Dark Protectors set and fell in love with Rebecca's world. I have read every book in that set and now am enjoying the Enforcers. I just loved Daire and Cee Cee (totally not her real name). Daire is an enforcer for the witch nation (they use quantum physics to alter matter and throw fire, which is is so cool), and he's on the hunt for this drug that harms witches. Cee Cee is out to avenge a wrong from the past, and in order to do so, she needs some files Daire has. She drugs him (more than once), gets him in helicopter wrecks and bear attacks. Daire is the perfect Alpha with a side of sweet - and for a really organized and rigid guy, he ends up loving Cee Cee's wild and crazy side. This is a super hot paranormal romance, and I can't wait for Wicked Burn, which is Simone and Nick's story. It was also tons of fun seeing Zane, Logan, and Garrett again! Kudos, Zanetti!

Zanetti is back at it and I really enjoyed devouring this latest edition to the Realm Enforcer series. It was full of twists and turns with characters and a little bit of humor added in. Daire Dunne is the oldest, badass Coven Nine enforcer and the night he decides to let his control slide a little for one night with a female he gets way more than he could ever expect. Cee Cee Jones has been plotting for years how to avenge her family and take down her enemy. Her plans involve gaining access to Coven records, which means she's got to take out an enforcer. Daire and Cee Cee embark on quite a journey and leave you wanting more

First, let me say that this book should definitely be read as part of the series and DOES NOT work as a stand-alone book. I have not read any of the other books in this series or the series that it was a spin off to so some of the world building and species traits (such as what powers and weaknesses does a vampire or any of the other species have in this realm) were lost on me and left me a bit confused. As such, this review IS NOT including any of those situations as part of the rating or the review as I recognize they could potentially be sorted out through starting from the beginning of the series. Here were my main issues with the book.

1. The polar bear scene. What an awful train wreck of a scene! So basically the scene is that the two main characters are on this isolated arctic island and suddenly find themselves confronted by eight polar bears (animals not shifters) who attack them and they barely escape with their lives. Let’s break this down... wild polar bears are mainly solitary creatures and definitely do not hunt in packs like wolves so there shouldn’t be eight of them launching a coordinated attack on two humans as they wouldn’t all be together in the first place. Okay not a huge thing maybe if you didn’t know a ton about polar bears but then we get to how they escape. The author describes these animals as having huge claws and weighing about 1,000 pounds... 1,000 pounds! And here is how the main characters defeat them... by a single kick. Granted they might have supernatural strength but come on! A single kick from a tiny woman is affecting a 1,000 pound bear? Unlikely. It probably wouldn’t do that much to them. The author also had the heroine ram a snowmobile at one polar bear and this apparently sent the polar bear flying (seriously that was the word used) but does nothing to the snowmobile? That would be like a motorcycle ramming an SUV. It’s completely unrealistic. At least show some damage to the snowmobile! Nevertheless, I persevered through sheer will power.

2. The heroine. She’s awful. With her history she could have ended up this interesting and dynamic bada** chick with a revenge scheme but comes across more wilting flower and one dimensional. She’s weak both mentally and physically (and I’m not referring to her supposedly not being able to use demon mojo). I’m not saying she’s not smart. She as able to create a whole successful revenge plot. However, mentally, she is wishy-washy and cries or is on the verge of crying very easily. Yes, it is a stressful time, but I honestly expected a mental toughness given her history that just wasn’t present. She also is always expecting someone to attack her about not being able to do demon abilities, especially from her kids. The conversation goes like this... “Mom, you can’t do that-“ and then she interrupts and goes “why because I can’t do mind attacks or teleport?” and then the son responding “no because you’re a mom/grandma”. This exact conversation happened a couple of times with her kids. It was irritating because that wasn’t what they were going to say and she just jumps to her own very wrong conclusions when there haven’t been any indications of them or others feeling that way about her. She is also very weak physically. An example of this would be when they rob the bank and she gets shot through and through in the arm. This makes her fall on her face and unable to stand on her own as well as feeling nauseous and fighting dizziness. Yes, a bullet wound probably hurts like the dickens but she is literally unable to weather a non-fatal arm wound and she expects to fight this older more powerful demon and win? Meanwhile, the hero gets shot multiple times during the robbery, one of which nicks his heart, and is able to throw her over his shoulder after she gets hit and haul them out of there. Okay sure but she’ll be the one to take down a powerful demon on her own *snort*.

3. The heroine’s sons. This was a weird dynamic to add to the book. The heroine has three sons but it really doesn’t work. They treat her more like a sister than a mom and for that matter she acts that way too. There’s no maturity or authority when dealing with them and they show no respect or deference when speaking or dealing with her. It was an unnecessary plot point that wasn’t executed well.

4. Hero/heroine dynamic. Lacked chemistry. Sex scenes were subpar and didn’t really feel a lot of build up or tension. Also, the heroine drugged the hero 3 times, with the last time fairly late in book. There is no trust there then. Pretty much every opportunity to drug him, she took it. Then all of a sudden they’re mated and happy as can be? Where’s the development? Someone drugs me 3 times I would have a hard time being in a relationship and trusting them right away but apparently not an issue for this couple. Apparently, that’s just foreplay to them.

General thoughts:
-Author did a lot of telling instead of showing, especially about the characters personality (such as saying she is sweet instead of showing it)
-hero isn’t very memorable. Also, why does he, a witch, have retractable fangs like a vampire?
-not a fan of the double mate thing. To me the idea of a mate is that this person is the one made for you and you have a soul mate connection. To have her mate another guy feels like a betrayal to her first mate for me. I’m not saying she should live alone forever but I’m saying that they didn’t have to make them mates, they could have just chosen to be in a relationship like humans do. Maybe that won’t bother others but it bothered me.

Based on all this I do not recommend this book. Sorry for the long rant but hopefully someone finds it useful!
