I really enjoy this series but the relationship between Conn and Moira is kind of irritating. She's too arrogant and way too distrustful of him. His not being honest with her about how he feels and his motives got old real fast. Out of all the books in the series, it was my least favorite.

I was disappointed in Conn and Moira's story. I really didn't like Moira who is suppose to be a powerful Witch. She is the seventh daughter of the seventh daughter. However, she didn't come across to me as begin so powerful. Other Witch's such as her cousin Simone; who we met in "Claimed" seemed stronger. Also, their was no sexual chemistry between Conn and Moira. At the end of the story they had what you might say was mind blowing sex and all Moira had to say after was Hummp Your Heavy, Conn replies Sorry and rolls on his side!! I never felt like she loved him, but I did feel like he loved her. Why else would a man wait for a women for a 100 years. Conn called her Dailtin which means Brat and that's just how she acted. She was very self center, everything was about her. I also, didn't like the Witches The Council of Nine. They weren't interesting, and not trustworthy at all. As for Conn he was not as Alpha and domineering as his brothers Dage and Talen. Conn let Moira lead him by the nose. Conn loved Moira treated her with respect, waited a century for her to start their live together, told her he loved her, but Moira didn't want to be mated and it was not until the very end of the book that she told him she loved him after he almost died to rescue her. Conn is head of The Realm Enforcement "Military" but he whines up getting captured and tortured. Near the end of the story he gets shot multiple times trying to rescue Moira and her sister, from a Witch that has kidnapped them. Conn gets out of these deadly situations with the help of this brothers. But during the story Conn gets his butt whipped to many times to be head of Realm Enforcement, he comes across as weak. His baby brother Jase came across in the story more powerful than him.
I liked the side story with Janie and Kalin the Kurjan teen and had hope he was turning nice. Oh well!!!! He is what he is! Zane made a small appearance in the story. I wished it was more. I love Zane and Janie's relationship and can't wait until they get older. I hope Ms Zanetti arranges a real meeting for these two. Overall the story was just OK, but I look forward to Jordan and Katie's story "Consumed"

This book had lots of action, romance and danger. I believe it could be read alone but since I have been reading it as a series it was pretty enjoyable.
Conn and Moira were both pretty strong people all on their own but together? They were a powerhouse although it seemed that the century that they were apart caused some separations when it came to working as a team. They each had strong loyalties to their clans" that tried to pull them apart. Conn had the right idea about that though. They needed to put themselves TOGETHER as first priority and then work the rest out together. And it's going to take some time and some work to get there.
Moira for all of her posturing is into Conn, but she just WON'T be his duty. She would deny it to anyone what she wants to be important to him in a deeper way. Conn being a warrior guy, doesn't see that at first but when he does things start to begin to go his way. Well, until bad guys and gals try to get in his way. That's when more action and more danger kicks in. During that time a traitor or two are revealed and fought.
There is a H.E.A. for now for the M.C.'s because they are finally on the same page. They will have their heated moments together both in anger and in sex. I really did like that Conn was so open about wanting to protect Moira but he also knew that she had unusual destiny and he didn't want to change her. He wanted her to be happy and to be herself. But there is still a unresolved virus out there and other dangers, so the adventures do continue. If you consider this a cliffhanger, I suppose you could but since it's clearly a series I don't. You have the choice to stop right here and enjoy what has gone on or you can continue on. Since I've enjoyed this series so much, you know my choice was to continue on.

The fourth book in the Dark Protectors series by Rebecca Zanetti and in my opinion the most action filled. Every time I turned around there was another enemy, another crisis, another mystery to solve and I loved every minute of it! So many more opportunities and scenarios have opened up with this book that even if it had not been my plan to do so, I would continue on with the next.
Moira, the heroine, was everything I wanted her to be. She never backed down to her fellow witches, her job as an enforcer and most especially to Conn. I was afraid he would overpower her as many alpha heroes tend to do with their women, but he did not. Yes, he wanted to protect her but never at the cost of losing who she truly was.
Still filled with lots of alpha vampires and shifters, we now have the promise of a demon to come. All of it is being built up to a five year olds dreams and visions and the expectation of a vampire of her own that will help her to save the Realm.
If it sounds complicated, it’s really not. There is enough backstory in each book that I believe they could each safely and comfortably be read as a standalone. Your problem is going to be limiting it to just one. I assure you, it can’t be done.

Conn and Moira's story:
Fun, fast paced PNR series. Great storyline, characters and suspense. Instalove, mates for life, possessive Alphas and grotesque evil foes. There are Vampires, Shifters, witches, Demons and more. This is a continued storyline focusing on a different couple per book.
I wasn't sure if this couple was going to be believable since Conn stayed away from his mate for a century. As strong as Tale, Dage and Max felt when they met their mates it didn't make sense that Conn could stay away for so long. I realized that I just didn't care. Once he decided to bring her home he was just as obsessed as the others.
There was a lot more going on in this book. It seems there were many more enemies popping up. As soon as one was taken care of, another one attacked. Everyone trying to take advantage of the Kurjans starting war again. It kept the storyline at a fast pace and you didn't know what was going to happen next.
Moira was an awesome heroine. She's just as much of a fighter as Conn and it was nice to see these two fight together. I'm really enjoying how much of a protector these Vampires really are and how well they treat their women despite being a bit cavemanish

I'm not sure how I feel about Moira. There is no doubt that she's strong. I found it annoying that she was constantly talking about how trained she was, yet when she was challenged, she froze. I think Simone summed it up best, but in the end it was Conn who made her use all of her strengths. Moira's secrets really bothered me. I felt she put everyone at risk. It took the entire book for her to settle the conflict within herself. Loyalty to Conn or her family. I found that unsettling. It was obvious she loved him. He certainly loved her. I think she was angry he left her a century ago. Conn did it for her, giving her time to learn her craft, but she always had secrets. Funny how the threat came from one of her own. Luckily she was kidnapped before she could betray Conn. I always felt she would go in that direction. With that said, I loved the book. Always loved Conn. Big warrior who had such love for 5 year old Janie. He's so sexy too. I put off reading Conn and Moira's story based on a review I read. After reading the story, I strongly disagree. There is so much passion between them. The story was so exciting. Too much inner turmoil from Moira. A little annoying. But the story kept me coming back. I think the battle between Zane and Kalin is going to be fierce. Also, I found it interesting and cute that Janie always write Kayrs as her name. I look forward to the next installment. Highly recommend. Enjoy!

The first chapter of Hunted hits the ground running. Strong personalities, high tempers, steamy chemistry, powerful longing, and unexpected consequences fairly fly off the pages.
Moira is a powerful witch, and we're not talking Sabrina nose-twitching magic. This is smart magic, requiring decades of study in quantum physics and string theory. When it comes to kick-butt heroines, Moira Dunne is the gold standard. Innately magically gifted, fiercely physically trained, and determined to do her duty to both her people and her mate, Moira is a firebrand of crackling, spunky, red-headed temper and focused power. With the combined lethality of her and Connlan, this is one duo you never want to cross.
I really like the idea that mated pairs share their supernatural skills. It makes them a united front, a team that backs each other up and builds on each other's strengths... very much like a marriage. It also means Connlan is far above average intelligence, and is there anything sexier than a man who is built, strong, confident, a natural leader, downright deadly with his body and with his energy, AND smart enough to bend spacetime with his mind?
Conn is the most lethal vampire alive, the ultimate soldier. His personality reminds me a little of Christian Grey from the Fifty Shades Trilogy: alpha and authoritative, determined like a freight train, a powerhouse in the bedroom, and incredibly good at his job. He's not quite as micromanaging as Fifty, but he certainly believes in trying to keep his mate under constant lockdown for her safety, regardless of her 30+ years of serving as an Enforcer for the witch's council. Their attraction both smolders and scorches. Intense, and as powerful as an atomic bomb, the energy between these two is off the charts.
If this couple had their own series, Connlan could be the new Bones. Yes, I know that's saying a lot and, no, I'm not kidding! This guy is everything I like.. no, LOVE... in a PNR hero and I want to stash him away for myself!! It's a darn shame he and Moira only have one book!
This book has it all... action, danger, passion, political intrigue. Ms. Zanetti has created a rich world of supernatural creatures hiding in plain sight of Earth's human population; demons who can trick your mind, witches who manipulate atomic energy, and vampires both good and bad who have a myriad of talents, from teleportation to controlling nature. This is not some cheap imitation quickie story universe. Alluring in its plausibility, the world of the Dark Protectors is thought-provoking and well-planned. The author doesn't devalue her audience's intelligence and the characters hold nothing back, and make no apologies for it!
Even if you haven't read the previous books in the series, Hunted is absolutely a MUST-READ! It is powerful, original, explosive, addicting, and stands on its own story arc. And Connlan is to DIE for. Seriously, he should be illegal.
If you liked Hunted, check out Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, Book 1) and Blood of the Demon (Demons of Infernum).

This series is so much more than romance. While it's got loyal, protective, bossy alpha heroes its also loaded with action. The suspense, mystery and magic keeps the plot moving and my heart racing. So many characters yet they all keep my attention. It's lighter on romance in this installment as the set up is 100 yrs of separation. The great thing is we don't have to read about it.. Its already over. Conn is ready to claim Moira and nothing will stop him. Moira is the most badass heroine so far. I liked her bravery and her loyalty. Great addition and I'm so curious about the future of Janie and Zane.

Been waiting for this hook up. Moira young witch, trained in Ireland- the 7th . Conn leader of Realms soldiers, fierce deadly fighter. He gave Moira 100 yrs to learn magic, fighting but now the time has come for Conn to claim his mate. They are already bonded, accidentally when they first met, a one night stand. Moira doesn't want anything to do with Conn, but he is persistent. Literally kidnapped her and takes her to the states. She has a job as enforcer for the coven's "Nine".. An outside force has created portals taking council members against their will. Moira is trying to find out whose doing it and why. Conn won't let's her out of his sight so he's along for the ride. There is also Katie's side story. Still unable to shift, very frustrated with it & Jordan, who she thinks only wants to mate her because she can't shift. Cara is about to give birth. Emma has figured out way to slow down virus 27 progression, so Cara can safely give birth.
Liked: Moira- a very strong take no nonsense heroine, with a slight vulnerability shown thru her love for Conn.
Liked: the Kalin/Janie/Zane side story. It seems so innocent now, but I have a feelings things will hit the fan when they all grow up.
Disliked: only gripe is I wish this virus thing comes to a head. Either the Kurjans wage war and try to infect everyone or the Karys family find a cure-story getting a little stale.
Still great read, looking forward to Kane and Jase's HEA.

100 years ago Moira was accidentally marked by the vampire warrior Conlan in a burst of passion so bright it nearly made her weep. After Con disappeared Moira found it easy to convince herself that he never wanted her and wouldn't be coming back for a mate he never intended on having. The war between vampires and Kurjans is heating up and suddenly Con is back in Moira's life. He claims for good but Moira is the seventh sister to the seventh sister and is a powerful witch now. She doesn't need a possessive overbearing mate screwing with her life.
Leaving Moira so many years ago was the hardest thing Con has ever done. Except maybe staying gone all those years. He knew she needed time to learn and hone her powers but Con desperately wanting to go back. Now that the war is upon him and his brothers, a mate disease is running rampant and the witches are being threatened, Con can finally go claim what is rightfully his. Not a moment to soon either because someone has their sights set on Moira and no one close to her is exactly what they seem.
*Le sigh* I. Love. This. Series. So. Much! Rebecca Zanetti is a friggin genius and if I lived in her state I'd be her new bestie. Ok...wait...that sounds stalkerish. Let's start over. I love this series and it just keeps getting better and better! I think Zanetti is hitting her stride and I for one hope she can keep up the steam.
Conlan and Moira have been brewing a long time. There has been hints of Con's past within the last books and when I heard Hunted would be his book I was ecstatic! Zanetti didn't let me down either. I fell in love with Con and Moira on page one. Moira with her feisty and "I can handle everything" attitude and Con always wanting to protect his very capable mate. ALPHA - you know me people...love them. Love them like whoa!
The connection I felt between Con and Moira was rivaled only by the connection I felt to the entire book. I absolutely adored this book from beginning to end. Moira felt the weight of the world being the seventh sister in her coven. Her power level was off the charts and I thought that since she mated (even accidentally) with a vampire, it was a cool twist that they ended up sharing some of their powers with each other. It was a unique twist and I do love twists. Con was about as masculine as he could be, which I expected, but I enjoyed the heat level between him and Moira. Even at the beginning when Moira was fighting her attraction you could just tell she still had feelings for him after all those years. Con's guilt at leaving her for 100 years was necessary but his insistence that he didn't want to, that it was hard on him, was so sweet.
The science behind the usage of witch powers is both unique and well thought out. I liked the explanations of the application of physics in doing magic and even though I don't understand a lot of it (I'm a DUH science type person. As in duhhhhhhhhhhh what?) I thought Zanetti's explanations were so completely different then the standard "shes's a witch, she does magic" that it really makes this series stand out from other paranormal romance series.
I enjoyed the continuation of the big picture story ARC with the war between, well most everyone, and the Kurjans. The brief looks in on the Kalin and his grisly outlook was very entertaining. To be so young (teenager) and so filled with such hate, it made me shudder. I wonder though, Kalin has brief glimpses of humanity, and what will that mean for the future. Though the feelings never stay, I wonder if being around Janie, the sweet seer child, might be rubbing off on him in some way. Since Janie, Kalin and Janie's friend Kane are supposedly supposed to be the key players in the coming war, I wonder what the outcome will be. I truly believe Kalin isn't all bad but has only been molded that way and still can see right and wrong in some degree.
Hunted is an exciting continuation of a story I love! When I finish each book I feel sad and anxious for the next one to come out and that is a mark of an excellent series for this reader. Zanetti weaves an enchanting story with Hunted that is sure to please paranormal romance lovers everywhere!
I give Hunted by Rebecca Zanetti 5 stars!

I enjoy this series, but think it is time for a break. This one was more of a struggle to stay interested in. I’m not sure why, but my mind kept wandering while I was reading. I’m going to try and read a couple of books in a different genre before I come back to this series or another paranormal. This book is a little different from the others, Conn and Moira are already mated and Moira is not human but a powerful witch. The vampires are still at war and it is heating up. Demons are becoming involved and all the different fractions/species of the realm are experiencing in fighting and threatening to break apart from one another. So this should have be a sit on the edge of your seat thrilling read, but it wasn’t… or at least not for me.
I still liked the book, but it just didn’t live up to the ones before it. It felt tamer and a bit more bogged down with details of how everything worked. While some of it was interesting I felt at times it affected the pace of the story. Also some of the excitement was missing from Conn and Moira’s relationship, perhaps because they were already an establish couple. They already knew a lot about each other. We missed out a bit on the excitement of a new relationship, we missed out on the honeymoon stage with them.
I did like how Conn seemed to be much more open minded about letting Moira do things for herself and lead her life as an enforcer even though it put her in danger. Granted he is going to be right there by her side, but he seems to see, more than his brothers, that she can take care of herself. He seemed to respect her abilities more than the other males did their mates in this world. Of course she is a powerful witch that can wield an energy bolt at his ass if he gets to neanderthalic on her.
As with the other books I really enjoyed Jamie’s scenes. Many of them take place in a dream world and I can’t wait to meet her mysterious Zane. Jamie is only 5 at this point in the story, and to me seems way to mature for her young age. We are also going to have to wait a long time to get to this triangle between her, Zane and Kalin. That book I am really looking forward to.

Hunted (Dark Protectors, #3) by Rebecca Zanetti is a Paranormal Suspense Adult Romance. Very well written and a lot of fun to read. The suspense was action filled and the romance was well done. Conn and Moira had great moments and their characters were well defined. They definitely endured some tense moments.
Here are the reasons I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.
A lot of the action is to quick. There needs to be a bit more of the 'White Knuckled' factor added to these stories. I would love to see (read) a more heart pounding, gasp worthy, OMG!, fight scenes.
I would also like to see the romance/passion elements taken up a few notches. It would be great if they got a bit more erotic and racy.
Will I read book #4 Consumed? Oh my YES!
I truly enjoy this series and this story. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book!

Conn, a vampire, and Moira, a witch, had a one-night stand a hundred years ago that accidentally left the two of them mated. At the time, Moira was still young and learning her craft so she asked Conn to give her one hundred years apart. Reluctantly he agreed, but came barreling into her life as soon as the time came.
Although Conn and Moira are trying to establish a working relationship, a war is brewing that may separate the witches and vampires. Can these different groups come to agreement or will Conn and Moira be split apart once again?
I loved Conn. He's overbearing and overprotective and completely alpha male. But, he has extraordinary self-control, which is evident from staying away from his mate for one hundred years. Plus, I adored his pure heart, even if he's bossy and stubborn.
Moira is more complex than Conn. She has felt something missing in her life, but has remained busy honing her craft and becoming a protector. Unlike Conn who knows what he wants, Moira is not quite sure.
There are many other characters in the book, several of which are very interesting and others that seem misplaced. For example, I really like the intrigue with Janie and her "friends" she visits in her dreams. I found this subplot (or arching storyline) a bit disjointed where the importance is not explained until the very end.
Generally, I found the pacing of the plot slow even though the story is packed full of information. Honestly, I liked the plot with its twists and turns, but the story lacked that special something to nab my attention and keep it.
Hunted has great main characters and an interesting plot, even if my focus tended to drift while reading this book. I liked Hunted better than the first novel in the series and found this book a solid installment in a growing world full of paranormal characters, romance, and turmoil.
BookingIt Grade: B+

Patience. That is the first word that comes to mind when I think of Connlan Kayrs. But of course he is fierce, strong, loyal and willing to do anything for his family. But Patience is what sticks out to me the most. Why do you ask... Conn give his mate 100 years, YES 100 years to grow, not only in age, but in maturity and power. But Conn is tired of waiting for her and now has come to claim his mate. Nothing and no one will stand in his way, not even his mate.
Moria's time has just run out. Conn is coming for her, but she still thinks she needs more time. She is not ready to be someone's mate, especially someone who she thinks doesn't really want her. Someone who so easily turned his back on her, someone who can possibly hurt her more than anyone other. But Moria's time has run out and Conn is here for her.
I so loved this story. I love the world that Rebecca has created in this series. I love all the different types of characters, the complexity of it all. I am so in love with Conn & Moria.
Conn and Moria is a force to be wrecken' with. Both are fiercely strong loyal warriors, stubborn to a fault, but above all else are willing to sacrifice themselves to save others. But their greatest battle my just be each other.
If you have read Fate & Claimed. Hunted will not disappoint. There is a lots of action, lots of emotion and even some mile high sex *wiggles eyebrows*
If you have not started Rebecca's Dark Protector's series. I would HIGHLY recommend you get started.

It's not easy being mated to one of the Kayrs brothers. Sure, they love you to the moon and back, but they aren't afraid to bully or muscle their way into winning an argument. Admittedly, none has been worse than Talen, the hero of the first book. But we see hints of the alpha-hole in them all.
I had hoped Conn would be better. After all, when he accidentally mated Moira a century ago, he actually acquiesced to her request for time apart so she could train as a witch. He let her do what she needed as a witch with a powerful potential in her line. Which made it all the more disappointing when he started pulling the caveman routine here. He isn't nearly as bad as Talen, thank goodness, but I had hoped he would give his mate a bit more credit. She is a lethal enforcer for her coven --a trained killer-- but he still tries to put her in a bubble to "protect" her. It annoyed me.
I still enjoyed the book, despite my annoyance with Conn. That's thanks to the great world-building and the fascinating series storyline. There is a lot happening in this installment. The primary plot involves the witches. Someone is using magic to take out members of the ruling council. Moira is on the hit list --and she wants to figure out who is targeting them --and why. This, as the witches consider aligning with the demons against the vampires. That puts Moira in the terrible position of potentially having to choose between her family and her mate.
Meanwhile, we're seeing the set-up for Katie and Jordan's book. Katie still can't shift, prompting her to take desperate measures. --And we're seeing more of the Kalin-Zane-Janie interaction. It's amazing how their scenes always manage to steal every book for me! I know Kalin is bad, bad, bad, but there is just something about him that makes me want to see his redemption. (Maybe I need my head examined.)
The sex is hot and the characters are well defined. Conn does make some progress before the story is over, but he doesn't quite hit the mark for me. I struggle with imbalance of power in the relationships in these books. Even with Moira being the most kick-ass of witches, Conn still has to win. At least she gets a couple of small victories. I guess that's progress.

Think you've read all the best vampire novels? Well unless you've devoured Rebecca Zanetti's Dark Predator series, you haven't! Ms Zanetti's latest, HUNTED, is a great novel to sink your teeth into!
One hundred years ago, Connlan Kayrs had a wild one night stand with a tempting red-headed witch that turned into something a little more permanent. Conn hadn't mean to, yet he still ended up marking Moira Dunne, which meant she was to be his mate forever. Realizing twenty-year-old Moira was too young for this serious attachment, Conn agreed with her family's wishes and stayed away from her for a century.
Well, time is now up and Conn is more anxious than ever to claim his prize. With all the different members of the supernatural Realm ready to go to war, Conn and Moira's new start may have them fighting on different sides. Which really wouldn't be much different from their current situation because Moira is rejecting Conn's advances with everything she has. Moira may not be able to resist him physically, but she isn't going to fall for his charms a second time. Well, she's pretty sure she won't. As enemies collide, Conn and Moira must fight for their people and fight for each other if they ever want their love to survive.
This is one paranormal series that has truly surprised me from the very beginning and I love it a little bit more after each installment. I was highly anticipating this next novel featuring Moira and Conn, and it certainly did not disappoint. These two have enough passion and chemistry between them to start the brightest fire. Ms Zanetti has developed two characters who have a love/hate relationship fueled by a vigorous sexual appetite for one another. Moira and Conn could turn the most serious argument into foreplay and it was certainly entertaining.
Still, it's not all angry sex. There is a subtle yet powerful emotional pull in their relationship. The lengths they would go to protect each other because of their love was absolutely heartbreaking at times. The sacrifices and choices they were willing to make made you cheer for their romance and love and their happily ever after. To put it simply, this is such a satisfying romance because they go through it all and come out a stronger couple because of it.
Of course they would make an excellent couple, because they are spectacular characters individually. Conn is blunt in what he wants and expects everyone to agree with him! Yet he is compassionate in the way he is willing to do whatever he has to in order to protect his loved ones. He is perhaps my favorite Kayrs brother. Don't get me wrong, I do love them all, but he is just the perfect alpha male vampire. Sexy, strong and overbearing in a way that makes it so appealing instead of frustrating! He knows just what to say and how to say it and if you don't agree, he has enough sex appeal to make you agree.
Yet if anyone can bring Conn to his knees, it's Moira. She has a fiery personality to match her striking red hair. You don't really get to see much of Moira's personality when she first met Conn one hundred years ago, but Ms Zanetti gives you enough context to allow you to see how much she's changed. Really, that's what you come to love best about her. Her separation from Conn may have been painful, but she has become her own person because of it. A very strong, intelligent woman who can take care of herself and isn't constantly depending on her mate. Moira continuously kept Conn on his toes whether it was with a witty remark or a sultry smile and it was pure entertainment.
HUNTED by Rebecca Zanetti is a thrilling and sexy romance that you will thoroughly enjoy reading. The world this author has created is lively, fun and full of zany characters you will absolutely adore. Should you read the first two before you check out HUNTED? Probably. The world building and previous characters are beginning to really jump from book to book, but I wouldn't say it's required. Truthfully, you should read the first two not to catch up, but because they are just as amazing as this latest installment.
Ms Zanetti's Dark Predator series is simply fabulous and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon! HUNTED has set up a few more budding romances that I am anxiously eager to read about and I'm sure they will be just as great as the last. So what are you waiting for? Hunt down a copy of this book immediately!

Another to add to my keep shelf!
This was my introduction to Rebecca Zanetti, and her stories, and yes, I am aware that this is not the first book in her series, but given that I didn't even KNOW it was a series until after I read, there was no problem, with whether or not the story would work as a standalone.
I chose this book, because I love books about witches and of course because it was a romance, and I was NOT disappointed.
I would recommend this book to all my friends, and anyone who likes a good paranormal romance. The details where terrific, and I love the way Moira is so sweet, she wanted Conn to claim her all those years ago, and has made herself into a very powerful witch waiting on him. Conn is fantastic character in his own right, formidable, though I was worried, because the vampire bit is a bit cliché now with all the vampire stories out there. BUT he was a different sort than I'm used to reading about so it was a refreshing new take in my opinion. He's very take-charge, but he clearly cares about her, I loved him as the male lead.
Rebecca Zanetti, is for sure going on my list of authors to look out for, and of course, now that I've read Hunted, I will most likely being go back to find the other books in her series as well- and I have to say, I LOVED the way she started Hunted. The chemistry was awesome; the brisk pace of the story line, and of course, the abundance of action- you couldn't ask for a better story.
Read this book, you won't regret it.

Hunted, what a perfect title for this wonderful addition to Rebecca Zanetti's Dark Protector Series.. The Vamps are hunted by the Kurjans, The Kurjans are being hunted by the Vamps, the Demons are hunting everyone and the witches? Well who knows exactly what's on their mind. Then add to the mix that Moira is being hunted by Conn and Conn is being hunted by his inner demons and we have a delightful combination of inner turmoil and outward war.
Conn, the brother who has been mated, who knows what it is like to find the one woman destined to be his. To stand at his side, to be there in the dark moments.. Only problem is, she was too young and he allowed her a 100 years in order to train and learn and become the witch she is destined to be. He has survived it all knowing that eventually their time would come.
Moira just doesn't get it. She feels that Conn is stuck with her, that he walked away from her because she was lacking and the only reason he is coming back is because he has no choice. She doesn't understand that his love is deep, intense and has nothing to do with duty. She is not a duty mate or a political mate she is everything to him. She is the very air he breathes.. Over the past century Moira has studied, she has learned, just not quite what Conn thought she was studying and learning.. she has learned how to fight. How to protect and most of all how to defend against the reigning evil. No longer does she feel like a failed witch rather she is strong, in both powers and protection. She will not be easily managed..
Poor Conn has his work cut out for him, together Moira and Conn must battle the Kurjans, they need to find out who is with them and just who is battling to destroy the balance. Who among them is a traitor and who is fighting against all that is evil. The witches are on the line.. if they can not figure out who the traitor is, all may be lost.
Rebecca Zanetti is fast becoming a favorite author.. She does not disappoint.. each character has the power to entice and intrigue to literally captivate you. Her stories hold me spellbound!! If you haven't discovered Ms Zanetti yet.. I suggest you do so! She is an author on the rise! and her Dark Protectors are scrumptiously delicious!

Rebecca Zanetti has a way of teasing her fans with delicious couples you can not wait for their novel. She outdid herself with Conn and Moira. In Claimed she teased us with some spotlights on them that I was a little nervous going into reading their story in Hunted. I have been disappointed in other novels with couples I could not wait for their stories from authors I adore, this was not the case for Conn and Moira. Absolutely loved every minute with them.
Conn, adore him since the beginning of the series. Loved him more in Claimed when he made it a point to tell Moira he is done waiting and is coming for her. He definitely got my attention more in Hunted with his stubborn, over protective, dominate, possessive, Alpha male attitude.
Moira, I just adored her feisty attitude and love how she has no problems putting Conn in his place. She thinks that he marked her on purpose so their families can be alliance. Even though she is strong will, it still broke my heart at times when she thought Conn took power over her. She waited and hoped he would of come back sooner than he was suppose to.
The sexual tension is through the roof and their chemistry is hot. They are perfect for each other in and out of the bedroom. A lot of misunderstandings with them as he thinks she just needed space and she thought he did not love her. All he wants is for her to be safe, happy and take a chance on him. He has called her Dailtin (brat in Gaelic terms) since their first meeting. Loved the back story on the first time they met, when he gave her the nickname and mated.
Loved how these bada** warriors are so normal and family orientated. The feeling of a real family gets better and better through out the series. Dage the king makes pony pictures for Janie's wall and Conn made her a real dollhouse.
Janie, Zane and Kalin grabbed my attention more in Hunted. Love how little by little I get some insight on what is going on with these characters. Love watching them grow up together and Zane is already starting to be more protective of Janie, especially when Kalin is around. Hope to get more of Zane in future novels.
As always the secondary characters play a big role in Hunted and add so much to the story. Dage, Emma, Talen and Cara never can get enough of them. Rebecca Zanetti outdid herself with the best Epilogue I believe so far in the series. Next up his another of my favorite couple Jordan and Katie. Look forward to their story in Consumed.

Another hit for the series and the hottest one yet! I love how Ms. Zanertti deliver a new story within he story being told by the saga of the Dark Protectors.
Connlan Kairs has waited 100 years to claim is mate and that is long enough. Rage terms of the treaty have been fulfilled and ready or not here he comes.
Moira is a powerful witch, Enforcer and future Council of the Nine Member and to top it off she is the Seventh Daughter of the Seventh witch. She sure as hell is not going to let a one night stand with Prince Kairs change her life. Fate be darned she is not letting the Kairs mate mark dictate her life. Now she just has to convince herself she doesn't want him.
Will Conn get his mate? Will Moira teach the neanderthal vampire prince what century we are leaving in? How can the strongest soldier and the most powerful witch of the Realm reconcile their mating? Or can they? Read on and find out.

Connlan Kayrs is a Prince of the Realm, an ultimate warrior and a vampire. He has also been mated to Moira Dunne, a witch, for a century. He signed a treaty and gave her the space she needed to come into and understand her powers as the seventh daughter of a seventh daughter. However, time is up, war is upon them from several sides and Conn is claiming his mate.
Moira Dunne is The Seventh. As the seventh daughter of a seventh daughter she has more power than any witch on the Council of the Nine. She has spent a century training and now Conn has come to claim her. Despite the wonderful night they spent together and the fact he marked her as his mate, Moira thinks Conn is just doing his duty and that sets off her red-headed temper. Sparks will fly and fights will ensue. Oh, and there is a war to be fought. Will they survive the upcoming chaos?
I so love this series. There are alliances and enemies that seem to be in constant flux. There is mystery galore and an uncertain future. The characters are interesting and the world is wonderful. The plot is twisty and the writing is smooth. I can't wait to read the next installment and see where this is all headed.
*Many thanks to Kensington for providing me with a review copy. Please see the disclaimer page on my blog.

The plot is twisty and the writing is smooth. I can't wait to read the next installment and see where this is all headed.

Moira Dunne the seventh daughter of a seventh daughter witch deploys quantum physics to move around in time and space. One century ago she had a one night stand, but though she immensely enjoyed the tryst that was in the "past".
However, Moira is unaware that her rendezvous with Connlan Kayrs turned out to be much more when he marked her as his mate. He has patiently waited decades for her to mature before Conn can claims Moira as his. Now Conn is back in a stunned Moira's life as he insists he needs her and by the way her family's support against a vampire clan creating a customized virus to attack the mates of the undead.
The third Dark Protectors romantic urban fantasy (see Fated and Claimed) is an engaging thriller that moves forward the overarching theme of a pending war; which is a two edged sword as the motive for the paranormal hostilities is not very lucid. The action-packed storyline is fast-paced as Conn claims the witch he is fated to mate with while betrayal leaves their relationship and their family and friends in peril. Sub-genre fans will enjoy Rebecca Zanetti's exciting novel as the vampire and the witch prove absence makes the heart (and other body parts) grow fonder.

Rebecca Zanetti knows how to write a story. After reading "Hunted", I am glad I stuck with the series. As each novel adds more depth to the characters. It is easy to root for the hero's and heroines. I was upset when I thought one may die and mad at the bad guys for picking on the good guys...funny to call vampires good! Each novel adds to the overall plot. This book is balanced well with action. adventure, love, romance and sex. The addition of showing love for a child actually gives a sweetness to our hero's not normally expressed this well in other books I've read. I am now looking forward to the next book in the series so I have come a long way from the first novel. I would recommend this novel to anyone. Kudos Ms. Zanetti.

From the book:
"Flame roared through her too hot to be considered passion, too desperate to be considered need. Hunger. Raw and absolute, it opened its jaws and consumed. Good and bad, darkness and light, fate and free will ... all ceased to exist."
That sums it up for me. A hot, passionate, page turner that I lost my free will to stop reading. Truly, this was another amazing read by this author. It's very hard to maintain a stand alone series and keep the readers interest. Your characters have to have different voices and that can get difficult, but definitely not in this case. Ms. Zanetti, you've done it again, thank you. I will definitely recommend this series! 5 well deserved stars, again. xoxo

I read A LOT of books and I am always glad to be able to give a raving review. They can't all be winners but R Zanetti writes a winner. I really enjoyed this book and the entire series. The books grabbed my attention and kept me interesting. The main characters were interesting. Although it is an alpha-male type book, the females retain their intelligence and dignity. I hate that many of the strong or dominant male hero books now reduce women to brainless subs. Its fun to find a title with great romance that doesn't sacrifice a quality story to get it. The sci fi creatures are awesome. The writing is excellent and I cannot wait for the next book.

Good book! I really liked the story of Moira and Connlan. They and their relationship was definitely amusing and their dynamic was entertaining. I'm definitely invested in this series and it is getting better. The more I delve into the series, the more I start to like the characters from previous books.

Moira will have to be my favorite Kayrs mate. She was strong, powerful, smart, and could definitely hold her own. Her and Conn made a great match fighting together and loving together! This is a great series with excellent character development. But... I don't think there was a balance between romance (Moira and Conn's story) and other events in the book. I felt like there was too much emphasis on the other character stories. I know Zanetti is building up for the last book in the series, which is Janie's book, but Moira and Conn's story revolved around it instead of the other way around. I would recommend reading the series from beginning to end to get a better understanding of all the characters. It's so much more enjoyable that way.

I have been looking forward to this story from the very first time I found out about Conn and Moira. Ms. Zanetti didn't disappoint either! Book three in the Dark Protector series is just as riveting as the first.
Over 100 years ago, their one night stand changed their destinies; they are mates. Conn believed that he was doing what was best for her and their future by signing a treaty that would give her time to come into her powers. What he doesn't know is that that one act may have just closed her heart to him forever.
Moira knows that her body craves Conn and has done so since the very beginning. What she can't accept is his choice to walk away from her and leaving their love behind. How can she trust his feelings if it took him this long to return to her?
Conn has spent the last 100 years in constant torment. He walked away from his mate, but she was such a young woman and still had not experienced life. Even though every breath he took, he was drawn to her, he had to hold strong to give her time. He used his time wisely, honing his powers and learning all he could about his woman. The time has come. Now he wants what is rightfully his and he will do anything to have her.
War has erupted in the realm and allegiances are being tested. There is also a new enemy so strong that they seem to be able to steal witches away without any trace. Now may not be the best time to claim his mate, but Conn is not going to risk losing Moira to politics and petty bickering. She is his main concern and he is determined to figure out what is happening. The problem is, Moira has many secrets Conn didn't know about, but he also has a few tricks up his sleeve. These two are in for some shocking revelations.
Ms. Zanetti has done it again. Her writing is strong and consistent and the plot is new and exciting. I enjoyed seeing old friends and having the plotline move along and not be stagnant. She has continued to write a solid story with engaging characters you what to know, enemies you fear but are captivated by and a universe that is fascinating and appealing. She never gave any clues to who the bad guy or gal was and kept me planted in my seat until the very last page.
Bravo on keeping this series action packed, sexy hot and original. I am looking forward to the continued adventures of the realm. Rebecca Zanetti's Dark Protectors series is a must read for me. She has forever placed herself on my "Authors to Read" list.

I wrote reviews for books one and two and gave a 4 and 4.5 star respectively. I wanted to see improvements and I got it. Zanetti, you've done a brilliant job in showing character development, character differentiation, and kept a fantastic plot going throughout.
Moira and Conn are wonderful and truly believable. Misunderstandings between the two are explained well and their relationship grows into something solid. It's lovely and very romantic. Oh yes, and the sex is hot (and not so wham, bam, thank-you ma'am all the time as the first and second books)
I would highly recommend this series, even if you weren't too thrilled with the first or second book. It is well worth sticking with.

Zanetti has hooked me since book one to say the least. Who doesn't want to read about sexy vampires that don't sparkle?! :: Raises Hand :: I do! And you'll get much more with her exciting books. You get strong sexy vampires that will literally knock your socks off with their strength and sexuality. I'm still trying to convince her to write me into her one of her books. But sadly all the Kayrs brothers are spoken for. :-( So there's no one she can pair me up with.
Like I said in my previously, I'm hooked on her "Dark Protectors" series. Her first novel is called Fated (Click for review) which is Talen's book and I think he's the sexiest of all the brothers. Then Claimed is her second which is the King's novel. And this one is about Conn, a vampire who happened to have mated with a very powerful witch. See; what I love about each of her novels is that each one has a different kind of romance to it. And also each book has its own unique dilemma. Of course, all the sexy brothers show up in each of her novels and you get to learn a little bit about each one of them.
Overall in this novel, you learn about the strength of the seventh witch of the coven and how her mate goes above and beyond to bring her back to be with him. You'll read about the obstacles they both endure and how they overcome them. Conn is in a league of his own with his sexy mate. In Zanetti's entire series, she mixes up your emotions, especially with this novel. At one point, I emailed her to ask her or rather to beg her not to do a certain something in this novel. She laughed at me. But that's how strongly I feel about her novels. They are AMAZING! I have two of my cousins and a friend hooked her this series too. So do I need to tell you how great Zanetti is? I think not. As always 5/5 stars a definite Good Choice for Reading!

Something for everyone in the fictional world of fantasy.

After 100 years apart, Moira Dunne's mate comes to Ireland for her. Moira isn't ready for Connlan Kayrs or to give up her position with the Coven of Nine as an enforcer, but she soon discovers she doesn't have much of a choice.
Moira is a woman who is fighting her destiny as the seventh daughter of the seventh daughter and also fate who has mated her with a vampire prince. She's spent the past hundred years learning her craft and protecting the witch council, but now she fears she lose her identity and be forced to choose between her family and the man she's convinced she is mistakenly mated to. She's and extremely strong woman who is understandable conflicted between her sense of duty and family with the undeniable attraction she feels for Conn.
Conn has known, since the minute he found Moira spying on him while he was training a hundred years ago, that she owned him heart and soul. While it went against everything he believed in, he signed a treaty to let her stay with her people, but with that expiration he's determined to bring her home.
This was a fast paced, high octane, sexy read. Not only did we have the romance/conflict between Moira and Conn, but there is also the pending war between the Realm and the Kurjans, the possible defection of the Coven of Nine from the Realm and pesky demons causing issues where they can. And excellent read that has caused me to find Book 1 & 2, as I need to know how the storyline got where it did.

Now that this happens to be a Daily Deal, I will finish my reviews of the books in this series (see my series review on the first book, Fated). Moira is the 7th sister of a 7th sister, the most powerful witch born in generations, who is not smart enough to escape getting "mated" when she was a naive 20 year old - by a 250 year old vampire who supposedly kept regretting his loss of control, thus ruining her from having any other relationship after he altered her DNA. Lip service, none of these vampires really regrets anything they do, his real regret is that he was forced to stay away from Moira for 100 years while she learned physical and magical skills. One would think her unique heritage would mean that her abilities would be very important in the ongoing conflict, but it is her vampire mate, Conn, who does, because he gets them from her after their mating. He has spent 100 years studying how he can fully possess her, and he then uses her skills against her. She has become a trained fighter - he generally denies her the right to do so, and she has been lying to him about it - for 30 years! She never is powerful enough to get him to accept NO from her - but that's OK, because she just "loves" him anyway, and I can't care for a character who does nothing to the person who uses her skills against her, one of the deepest betrayals I can imagine. I hoped she would be able to get the other mates to grow some backbone, disappointed again. The story is also dragging at this point - no cure, no advancement in the science, and no end in sight. If you have not been reading the Elemental Assassin series by Jennifer Estep, featuring Gin, a fantastic heroine, I recommend that series very highly.

I liked this book the best of this series. I thought Conn and Moira were a good couple. She was truly a strong character and I appreciated that Conn was more toned down than I expected. He was still archaic at times which could've been really annoying. But since he was likable, it was okay. I still don't think they act like vampires and would've preferred them being a member of a different paranormal group. Wolves or demons might match they temperament more. I try to just forget it. I look forward to the next story which I think is Jordan and Katie.

I loved this book. Connlan and Moira are great characters, alpha male and a strong female. The book started off a little slow but soon picked up. I loved the scene at the end with Zane and Janie. best line in the book "No Belle I'm the flood". So cool. Read April 26, 2012.

Amazing book.
Wow. This book was really good. I'm thinking it was the best of them all so far! I loved the character development. Sure, the book was still very steamy, but not as....bluntly steamy if that makes sense. I really felt a connection between the hero and heroine in this story.
The action was constant. I never wanted to put this book down. Each page had me hurriedly reading so I could find out what happened.
The world Zanetti has created for these novels is amazing. Very detailed, creative and unique! Love it!! :)
Nicely done, Rebecca!!
