How many times in one book can a character overreact to each and every event? Let's ask Emma. I could barely get through this. I just needed to accept overreaction and histerics to everything. This is absolutely not how a real scientist acts. Ugh. Let's also jump to catastrophic assumptions with every event. A little bit of blood on a jacket is automatically a life threatening bullet wound. Death is imminent. Skip this one.

Really loved this book and Fated, the one before it! One of the best vampire books I've read! Can't wait for the next book in her series! Definitely recommend if you love to read about alpha man vampires! Couldn't put the book down!

I read all but one of the other books in this series before I read this one. It was sexy, but the heroine started to get on my nerves. I almost didn't finish it, maybe because I burned myself out on the other books first. In hindsight, I wish I had waited until it wasn't $9 before I got it.

The relationship dynamic in the book left me disgusted, cold, and angry. Do not recommend. Using sex to manipulate the person you love? Not okay, and I know it's done a lot in romance books, but the extent this author took it was... unsettling.she tried to patch it up at the end, with a quick 'I don't want you kept in a box', but it was not close to enough.

This book was good. I love alpha males but I'm not sure I enjoyed Dage's very aggressive dominance for his mate's complete submission before the intimate scenes. I preferred Talen's book. Of course, A+ on the plot and I'm looking forward to the stories of the other characters in this series. Now I'm moving on to Max's story.

I am not impressed with supposed heros who have to rape their women to get them. More Delta then Alphas as far I am concerned. That seems to be what this authors world is about. Vampires and other supernaturals who live in a very male dominated universe claiming women whether they want to be claimed or not.
Nor was I impressed with the women who let themselves become slaves, which is basically what this novel is about. Guy claims woman as his mate and woman is dominated mentally and physically until she calls it love and accepts her new gilded caged life.
This is the first novel by this author I have read and I will not be reading any more. The first couple of chapters fooled me into thinking the woman was strong but you quickly find out she isn't and that the guy you think is strong, isn't either. Oh, he has lots of powers, but he comes accross as just a spoiled brat wanting his own way in all things. Yes, he has to go out on adventures and missions and does as he pleases, even though he is king and his death would throw the kingdom into jeopardy, but she she may not go anywhere or do anything or be touched by anyone unless he approves. Of course, in the novel he has all these powers which are impressive, but the man is not impressive at all. None of the brothers really are. Lots of powers, but they are like a bunch of teenagers with cool toys. They never seem to have grown up.
The immature behavior seems to be the norm, even though these are vampire kings and princes hundreds of years old who have a kingdom to run. In the novel the Delta male rescues(captures) the female lead then tells her that her life as she wants it is over. She must become his mate (slave), willingly or else he will take her unwillingly, which he does. After the first rape I would of stopped reading, but decided I wanted to write a review. So, I read the whole pathetic book. I had just come from reading a nice Cynthia Eden novel and then reading this trash just made me hate it more. It will be deleted from my kindle. What a waste of my money.

See my review of the entire series in Fated for a general overview. In this second entry, we meet Cara's sister, Emma, "enhanced" human due to her psychic ability. She is also the smartest woman on the planet - except for refusing to believe her little human self could take care of herself. The smartest woman on the planet submits to her vampire mate - the King, Dage - throughout the entire series. She is "tamed" and physically assaulted if she dares to say no to anything, but that never bothers her - on the contrary, she is compelled to deny her mate something so he will act physically against her, which she "loves." If you like women lead characters to be dominated, then jump right in and stick with this series where the women never gain enough power protect themselves (except for the power of love). If you would rather read about a romance with a paranormal woman who can more than hold her own, check out Kate Daniels in books by Ilona Andrews.

Like all of the books in this series, it is intense. Intense in action, fighting, keeping enemies at bay, trying to overcove the planes of enemies and sexual intensity was well.
Emma and Dage are both intense main character. They are very skilled, smart and gifted. They make quite the power team.
Emma has never wanted to be Queen but fate has decided that she is Dage is her mate. So of course that makes her Queen of the Realm. She doesn't feel like she has any time for any of that nonsense because she is a scientist through and through. She is also on a mission to try and save her beloved sister from the virus that is trying to destroy her. Finding that cure is what drives her. She pushes to investigate, missing meals and sleep. She can almost hear the clock ticking on her sister's life. There are other mates who are also at risk too because of this virus.
Dage is not about to let her half kill herself taking chances with her life and her health. She sees him in a way no one else has. As the man more that the status as King. Their connection is strong and both are stubborn so he has his work cut out for him.
Together they both cause some wins but the virus is still out there so it's more like a H.E.A. for now. There is more adventures to come.

Dage, as king of the Realm, has the incredibly important job of keeping his race and other paranormals safe from the Kurjans. Those intent of kidnapping human with special abilities, so they can breed with them. One such woman is Emma, a brilliant scientist who may hold the key to unraveling a devastating illness affecting other mates and breeding women.
Faced with startling revelations that she is Dages impending Queen and the even more startling, she wants him...Emma can't decide what to do. Does she go with her heart and become a breeding mate, even if Dage does set her body on fire by merely glancing at her? Does she go with her mind and focus on solving the genetic mystery surrounding everyone she loves? Or can she do both without losing herself in the process?
I don't know about anyone else, but I waited for this book with bated breath! When it showed up everything else in my TBR pile suddenly disappeared and this one became my sole focus. I was not let down! I loved Claimed nearly as much as I loved the first book, Fated. Rebecca Zanetti seems to be able to catch my attention and hold me enraptured throughout the process. Never a dull moment. Always sexy.
Dage was scary hot. He often referred to Emma as "mate' which I found incredibly sexy. There is just something about a big, scary hulk of a man calling his woman "mate" in such a sexy domineering way. Yes, it's over the top, yes its extremely dominate but I love it. I think it works because of the females. They may waver at the beginning, try to run from the emotional connection they are fighting within, but in the end they give themselves over to what I can only describe as magical.
I enjoyed Emma a lot. I loved her protective streak and thought her willingness to try to shield Cara was endearing. Her ability as a geneticist was a perfect addition and of course worked well with the story line of a blood disease and DNA issues. Having said all that she got on my nerves with her wavering on becoming a mate to Dage. She had to have known the day was coming since she'd been seeing this man in her dreams for years. Yet when they finally come together she tells him constantly she is leaving. I knew she'd never leave her sister there with Talen and so I thought her posturing was a bit over the top...she was going to stay.
Claimed furthers the secondary story lines with all the other Kayrs brothers (and some others) and it only sealed my excitement for the next one! I can't wait to learn more about the individual brothers and the cat sifters. The Kurjans are a formidable foe and their methods are scary. I shudder to think of when their young prodigy grows up what will happen to Cara's (and Emmas niece) extremely powerful daughter Janie. I love her innocent, yet wise beyond her years, additions to the book. She provides much needed information when the brothers don't know where else to go. I look forward to watching her progression through out the series since the brothers are so protective of her.
Emma and Dage burn through each and every page! His push and her pull creating an incredible friction that lights the page on fire! Rebecca Zanetti combines excellent story telling and incredible world building to give readers a sexy thrill ride wrought with action they won't forget!
I give Claimed by Rebecca Zanetti 5 stars!

Summary
Emma Paulsen is a geneticist, but she also has other psychic gifts, where she can she future events. She has just been kidnapped by Kurjans, who will stop at nothing to destroy everything good, including her sister, and her mate…the King of the Realm, Dage Kayrs. While being transported she finds herself being rescued by the one man who haunts her dreams and visions. But despite her feelings for Dage, she wants her own freedom. She is determined to never be under a mans rule again, or his fist. But she soon learns that Dage is nothing like her father, who was a drunk. But just as Emma and Dage are starting to begin their mating dance, a threat looms over them, a threat that threatens the life of every vampire mate and animal shifter. A virus that the Kurjans have created and released, a virus that if Emma doesn’t find the cure in time, could destroy her sister and her unborn child. But the consequences could tear Dage apart forcing him to choose between his mate and the people he has led for centuries.
The Hero
Dage, has taken the role of a leader well, but all he knows is how to fight. He was trained to be a killer, to protect those under his domain, and despite his position as King, he knows where his true talents lie. He is the oldest of four brothers, brothers that he will do everything in his power to protect no matter the cost. He has been searching for his mate for years, and now he has finally found her and will keep her no matter what. What an alpha male Dage was, but oh how delicious…I could gobble him up. He is a King of vampires and shifters alike, he is commanding, needs to have control, is a true leader that demands respect due him. What I admired about Dage was seeing him unravel trying to work things out with Emma, who is just as stubborn and headstrong as he is. Dage is full of pride and arrogance which tends to get him into trouble especially with his mate, who fights him at every turn.
The Heroine
Emma, is the oldest, and all of her life, she has only known the role of “protector”. Her father was a mean drunk, and would beat them but Emma most especially since she protected her sister Cara. Emma never has let go of that control of a situation, and doesn’t know how to share protective duties. It tends to get her into mischief and all sorts of trouble with Dage. At first she wants her independence and to live her own life, but her heart says differently. She craves Dage, even though she won’t admit it to herself. Emma was a fantastic heroine. Emma is intelligent, sassy, stubborn, and loyal and what a match for Dage. She is no door mat, and despite the abuse she has suffered, fights Dage at every turn, especially when he goes all Neanderthal on her.
Plot and Story Line
Claimed starts off with excitement and I was instantly hooked, I could barely put this one down. I had such a difficult time putting this one aside, and could barely keep myself from getting too excited. I still can’t believe that it took me this long to get back to this series. I read the first book ages ago, when a fellow blogging friend recommended her to me, and I just adore vampire romances, especially this type of vampire romance. When I first started reading this one, it made me want to read the first book again, which I may end up doing soon. However I have decided to carry on with this series. I am hooked completely, and just can’t get enough. Where has this author been my whole life? hehehe. I adore her writing, and she writes with such an intense and you are overcome with a irresistible feeling that you just have to have your Zanetti fix…its like a drug only better, where the only side effect is complete satisfaction and yearning for more of this talent that sweeps you away. If you have yet to read this author, you are missing out. She has a way with creating stories that entice and pull you magically into her stories of danger, passion, and riveting emotion. The plot is pretty intense, and whew what a climax, and all of the relationships between the brothers was entertaining, they do know how to act like a real family–with plenty of broken bones and bloody noses and a teasing that made me reminisce about my own family relationships. The love story is the center theme, but there is plenty more happening surrounding it, that envelops you like a cocoon. There are some pretty steamy scenes here, and boy is there enough sexual tension to level any playing field. A must read for any paranormal romance lover that needs something different but exhilarating.
The Cover
i adore the dramatic colors, with the purple and the yellow. Seeing the overlook beneath the couple, I love the almost kiss look we have…just draws you in from the moment you first see it and the first time I saw it I had a hard time getting back to reality.

AudioBook Review: Stars Overall 4 Narration 5 Story 4
Emma is Cara’s older sister, intelligent, independent and fiercely protective of what’s hers. Her father’s alcohol and physical abuse of the girls when young have Emma particularly uninterested in bossy, take charge men that set limits. A geneticist, she is completely confident in her own ability to solve nearly every problem with science, although she does rely regularly on her psychic abilities. Her pairing with Dage is meant to be.
Fortunately, as the King, Dage has more ‘diplomatic’ skills even as his nature is struggling to break free and take Emma for his own. It was cute watching his reactions to her refusal to accept him as mate, and his struggles with his own nature so as not to lose her. The development of the characters as a couple, and their own individual growth trajectories are wonderfully described, even if some of the approaches IN to the relationships are less than soft seduction. These alpha males are used to getting their own way. Of COURSE they aren’t used to being defied, but they never hit anger, but frustration, utter confusion and a touch of the petulant two year old do appear, usually with a laugh from the reader.
The complexities of the realm and worlds are further explained, as the war heats up with the introduction of a virus that threatens a tentative balance. A solid source of tension and immediacy from that ongoing thread is present and ties all of the stories together with the ongoing mystery.
Narration for this series is from Karen White, and she again brings a solid sense of the characters and the emotion to the forefront. I’m honestly wondering just how she kept all of the different voices straight, as Talen, Cara, Emma, Dage, Janie and all the others have distinct tones in their voices and I knew who was who from the first book right off. From a note left on the first review: I know these were all recorded in order, but my brain scrambles thinking about it. Wonderful insets that allow the emotional impact of the words are used: pauses, hesitations, even sighs and smiles all add to this narration that is fast becoming my example of stellar work.
I’m really enjoying this series: the characters, the world building and the narration that breathes life into every moment. A perfect opportunity for fans of the series to start again, or to bring in new listeners who want a long-running story trajectory with characters that intrigue and amuse.
I received an AudioBook copy of the title via Audible Communications for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Claimed (Dark Protectors #2) by Rebecca Zanetti is a Paranormal Suspense Adult Romance. Much better written than book #1 Fated. I didn't find any editing problems in this one which made it a smoother read. Dage and Emma are great characters. Both have very strong personalities and both are intelligent.
The pace of the story did slow down a couple of times and that is the reason I am giving it 4 stars.
For the most part it was a very, very good read.
The suspense was compelling and thought provoking. You have numerous things happening.
The Virus Emma is trying to find a cure for.
Who got close enough to infect key characters and how did they get infected? (I try not to give spoilers)
The ongoing problems with the Kurjans and the war with them. Who is allies & who is foe? Who is the mole?
The erotic scenes between Dage and Emma are fascinating and provocative. Filled with ADULT sensuality and passion.
I can't wait to read Hunted book #3!

Another enjoyable book in this action packed series that has become a guilty pleasure for me. Why guilty? Because at times I can hear my inner feminist screaming in the back of my mind that these characters are awful examples for women’s rights. I should not be reading this, the lessons it teaches about how to treat women are all wrong. Wrong. I would never tolerate or associate with men that really behaved like the ones in this book. The women are just as bad, not making a stand against the men at all, or they do and then cave with out any fight at all. They also use sex as a weapon in the book to manipulate and get what they want. All really bad examples of how to interact with other people we love and respect. The characters themselves know their behavior is wrong and that it should not be tolerated, but then confess that the men are not going to change. They have a caveman like approach to relationships and the women just need to get used to it. Really, really awful if you think to deeply about it. I also realize that this is a common complaint about the types of books that I read, and maybe romance books in general. This series just seems to be a stronger example of the stereo types in this genre than others I’ve read.
So why am I reading the series, and I am going to be reading them all. Because I have decided to not think to deeply about it. It is still a fun sexy read. Like the women in the book I’m choosing to overlook a lot of bad behavior. After all it is just fiction, and there is something that can be learned from a bad example as well as a good one. The story isn’t all bad examples though. We do see a group of brothers that are there for each other and defend them and their mates to the end, the support of friends and family in this series is remarkable. They are also very accepting of each other and the different species in this world, despite the fact that they are going to war. They all are working together towards a greater good, after they find peace I hope they continue to work together to bring the men out of the stone age. There is also real love in the relationships. It happens quickly, but that is a common theme in paranormal books, but once the men fall for or are mated to these women they do cherish them and would give up their lives to protect them. They become complete once they find their mates. Yes, codependency is rampant in this world…
Sometimes we just need to escape, and that is what this series does really well. We get a serious situation with plenty of drama and some fierce alpha men along with a steamy romance. It fills that inner desire to be swept off our feet and to become something so precious to someone that they go to any end to posses and protect you. After all don’t we all want to be the center of someone’s universe? Don’t we all want love? Granted in a much healthier way, but in a book the type of relationships this series is portraying is fine, in real life all of these characters should be in counseling.
Emma is tough. Stubborn as hell. Both her and Dage are a perfect match. It seems as though they fell in love too quickly until I remember he's been dreaming about her for 200 years and she's been having visions about him most of her life. Dage is soooo powerful. A killing machine. Love him. I love this world Rebecca has created. The character pool continues to grow with very well developed individuals. I still don't care for Katie. She's a whiner. No common sense. Jordan takes her everywhere he goes. Has for years. She sees nothing. Always putting herself in danger and spewing nonsense about taking care of herself, and yet not really doing that. Annoying. I love Caleb. Karma has kicked his ass. Mock the prophets and then become one. His absolute worse nightmare. Funny. Janie's powers are growing. I'm anxious to see all of Jase's powers. Such an exciting series. Enjoy!

Dr. Emma Paulsen, a brillant geneticist, is used to running to protect her family from danger. Emma has for years from visions of the future that included silver eyed man and explosions leading to her death. Kurjans want the mates of Vampires for themselves creating a virus and catalyst to ensure this completely. Dage Kayr is King of the Realm, has been waiting three centuries for his mate and isn't going to let her stubborn ways get in the way of their true happiness. There is a traitor amongst them no telling what information has been traded. Emma and Kane are feverishly working on a way to stop the virus and catalyst with little success so far. Conn's mate Moira, a powerful witch, made hold the key to curing the virus and stopping the catalyst too. Dage is trying to hold the kingdom together but lately he cares little for diplomacy or politics. He'd much rather spend time with his mate. Is there a cure for the virus and catalyst? Will Kurjans be stopped? Who is the traitor? Will Emma admit she loves Dage? Can Moira help? Your answers await you in Claimed.
This series is just beginning to heat up in it's war with Kurjans. Dage's need for Emma is all about balance. Both have visions of the future but neither is willing to share their information with the other one. Hints as to what prophecy is beginning to show through the story arc. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Rebecca Zanetti's sophomore title sure delivered. Dage is an awesome leader. Emma a brilliant heroine. Stubborn, strong, weak, enduring all rolled into a beautiful woman.
I loved all the action in this one. Tons of fighting and battling. I have to admit, though, the romance part was a bit .... rougher than I care for. I kept waiting for some tenderness to be shown, yet I didn't see that. Then again, I lean more toward the softer side of romance so it's just personal preference.
It was fun watching their transformations together. How they started becoming one with their powers and how strong Dage turned out to be. The plot is deep and well structured as are the characters. I really like the introduction of the new characters, which I hope eventually have their own stories.
Especially the witches.
I really love Rebecca Zanetti's writing. So visual and engrossing, I can't put her books down until I've read just one more chapter (and lost hours of sleep!) Her story telling skills are right up there with the best in the paranormal romance business. She's on my auto-buy list for sure.
Nicely done, Rebecca.

This is a definite improvement for me over Fated... and picks up right where that one left off. It even overlaps a tiny bit. The story begins as Emma is separated from her sister Cara at the Kurjan (evil vampire) facility and transported to the evil king that wants to be her mate. But before she can make there, she is rescued by the good vampire king, Dage, mid-flight.
Emma knows she is destined to be with Dage. She has dreamed of him for the past 15 years. Part of her already loves him. He, meanwhile, has dreamed of her for centuries. Her face has haunted his dreams. And now that they are finally together in the flesh, it is intoxicating. The thing is, Emma knows more than she is letting on. Thanks to her powerful psychic abilities, she knows her death is coming and she wants to shield Dage from the pain that will follow. She figures, if she fights the mating, she can prevent him from loving her enough to be destroyed by her death. Of course, that's ridiculous because he already loves her.
Meanwhile, the plague engineered by the Kurjans is hitting closer to home. Cara is infected and so are Katie and Maggie. Dage and his brothers now have more reason than ever to find a cure. How fortunate that Emma is a brilliant scientist! She and Dage's brainiac brother Kane work together to crack the virus. This, as Dage and his people teeter on the brink of a supernatural war. It's a tough time to be king.
As with all the books in this series, I really like the world building. And the layers grow from book to book. Could this be read as a standalone? Yes. I read books 4 and 5 that way, but obviously that motivated me to check out the backlist and learn more about the characters and their history. The series as it stands (from book 1 to 5) has progressed over the course of 15 years or so, so there is a lot of ground to cover. Rebecca Zanetti lays it all out simply, and while it's a little complicated, it's not convoluted; you won't get lost.
What's so much better here than in book one is the relationship. Yes, there are still times the hero is overbearing, possessive, and bossy. But he tries not to be. He sees the value in giving Emma choices (most of the time) and does not try to cut her off at the knees at every pass. Meanwhile, Emma's got a little more hutzpah than her sister did. She is tougher and is more powerful. --There were moments that gave me pause. Like using sex as "punishment" and making her beg to show her who has control. Both are turnoffs for me. But it's such a vast improvement from the Talen/ Cara dynamic, I know we are going in the right direction.
I love the underlying Janie story... and the two young men visiting her dreams. I can't wait to read that book one day. In the meantime, though, I will occupy myself with Conn and Moira's story. I can't wait to see their reunion.

I gave it a four out of five because it was an excellent read but I've read plenty of fives. This series is definitely worth reading.
I enjoyed the play of characters and their interactions. I think what I enjoyed the most was how Rebecca didn't send the main focus characters in the first book, Fated, into the realm (no pun intended), of past characters.
Clara, Talen, Janie and those that protected them are still a large part of the storyline. I'm looking forward to seeing how the future is with Janie and how Zane fits in.
Anyone who loves to read books with intrigue and action with believable love matches will latch on to Rebecca Zanettis work and won't let go.
If you're a Christine Feehan fan. (I raise my hand) You're going to enjoy the similarities as well as the differences.
I find it funny when I read something that I've thought of for my own writing. The fact that its in books by authors that I enjoy and admire makes me feel even better about my future prospects in this chosen vocation.
Read on in enjoyment!

This was a nice strong sequel to the first book in the series. There were a few things that make it even more enjoyable. For one, all the set up and introductions to the Dark Protector world have pretty much been established so the story could focus more on the plot and characters. And for another thing, I liked the main characters better. I enjoyed how the story took me further with the main story thread and a few of the other other continuing threads even while placing much of the emphasis on the romance of the new couple.
The story needs to be read in the series order for some of the reasons I presented above- mainly because it picks right up where book one leaves off. You might want to skip this review if you don't want series spoilers.
In the last book, Cara's geneticist sister, Emma, has been taken and is on her way to the Kurjan, Franco, who plans to make her his mate. Emma has psychic abilities which make her a potential vampire mate. In her case, its not just any vampire, but the king vampire, Dage. They have seen each other in dreams and visions for a long time. Emma is intrigued by Dage and loves what she sees in her dreams, but she also dreams her own death and the pain it will cause Dage so she doesn't want to put him through this by becoming his mate not to mention she's not a huge fan of fate.
Dage rescues Emma and the sparks fly immediately when he informs her of the changes in her life- she's coming with him and she's his mate. Dage wants to give Emma time to get used to the idea, but he soon realizes that she's not planning to adjust to her circumstances; she's planning to run. He does what any strong, alpha-type would do; he takes away the choice and brands her as his mate. Emma's plans to escape are forestalled when they discover that someone on the inside has infected Cara, Katie and Lily, one of the vampire prophets. Emma races to find a cure with the help of Dage's brother Kane and Conn's mate, Moira. Dage and the others must deal with the war between the vamps and the Kurjans, the demons declaring war, and someone trying to de-throne Dage. It all gets pretty exciting by the end and there is this scene close to the end that was absolutely scorching hot in its intensity between Dage and Emma. He's not the King for nothing.
With the first book, so much page time was devoted to introductions, but this one just got busy with the plot. Not to say that there was no additional world building. There is the intro of witches and demons to the paranormals. It was a nice active plot, but one that focused on the romance between Dage and Emma too. They are a couple that don't come together easily or quietly. She comes from the same abusive household as Cara so the baggage is there just in a different way with Emma. Emma thinks she has to shoulder the problems of the world alone and fix everyone. Dage is constantly trying to wrest this responsibility from her and just get her trust him. Needless to say, its quite the battle both inside and outside the bedroom.
As to the other plot, I love how it progresses, but there is a great deal of intrigue involved in it. I think this promises something good for the rest of the series.
This book/series will appeal to those who enjoy steamy paranormal romance.

Second book in the series
Emma is a scientist who was captured by the evil Kurjans, a vampire-like race, but the King of the Realms and good vampire named Dage, rescues her. At first glance, Emma knows that she has been having visions of Dage all of her life. As a deadly virus attacks the vampire's mates, Emma focuses on finding a cure, but she doesn't realize how distracting Dage would be, especially since he insists that she is his mate.
Claimed will grab your attention on the first page!
Emma is an interesting character with an incredible amount of depth. I loved how her past definitely influences her motivations, especially concerning Dage. I found her character a bit inconsistent, though. Dage is more consistent than Emma, but lacks the past motivations and overall depth. Generally, I found him a really great leader, but a bit overwhelming in the bedroom. Actually, he made me a little uncomfortable, especially since Emma voiced her reluctance.
The story begins with a bang! Then, the plot continues to charge ahead, adding various characters and issues that keep the pages turning. Several of the other characters (Jase, Caleb, Lily) I'm desperate to know their stories! Unfortunately, I found much of the scientific lingo and timeline both corny and unrealistic. Honestly, this is my own issue since I am a scientist during the day, but I understand that the plot must move forward.
I enjoyed Claimed and look forward to the next installment! I did not read the one previous book in the series and I did not feel lost or left out of the loop. So, jump into this series! I can't wait for the next book.

Carla's Review:
Dage Kayrs, King of the Realm has been dreaming of his mate for 200 years. He never knew who she was until his brother Talen found his mate, Cara. It was then that Dage discovered Cara's older sister Emma is the woman he's been dreaming of.
Emma Paulson has visions while she dreams. She has been dreaming of Dage for years and is already in love with him from the visions she'd had of him in his past. She's gotten to know a lot about the King of the Realm but she is determined to keep her distance from him because Emma had a vision of her death and she knows her death would destroy Dage if they were to become mated. But Dage, like all the Kayrs brothers does not like the word no and is determined to claim Emma as his.
When Claimed begins, Emma is on the run from the Kurjan's and was just captured by them. While traveling on a helicopter, Dage traces in and rescues Emma and takes her back to the Kayrs compound. Dage is determined to claim Emma and mark her as his and Emma is just as determined to never let that happen. But Dage and Emma both have their hands full. The virus that the Kurjans created has now infected Cara and a few others and Emma needs to find a cure fast. The virus undoes the mating process. It will remove the mark and the bond of the mates and then turn the female human again. And with Cara being pregnant, being human again means losing the baby because a human female cannot carry a vampire baby.
We also see a lot of Janie and Zane. Let me just say I LOVE Janie and Zane and I am DYING for them to get their book. For a 4 year old, Janie is much wiser than her age and has incredible abilities which we get to see more of in this book. We also learn that Janie's birth has been prophesied and she has a big destiny to fulfill and Zane is also part of that destiny. :-) Can't wait to read more about them.
After certain events in Claimed and at the conclusion of this book, Connlan Kayrs has decided to go to Ireland to claim his mate and protect her. The events that happened in Claimed, lead up to the start of their book, HUNTED, which will be released April 24, 2012. Conn's Mate, Moira is a very powerful witch from Ireland and she is determined to remove Conn's mark. Conn is going to have his hands full with Moira and I can't wait to read their story .
I fell in love with the Dark Protectors series when "Fated" was released in 2011. The Kayrs brothers are dominant Alphas to their core and being the Royal Family just makes it worse. They are not used to being told no and it's funny to see them trying to control their strong independent mates who hate to be controlled. I highly recommend this series. You can read the books as a standalone but I do recommend reading from the beginning of the series because you don't want to miss out on any of the yummy Kayrs brothers.

Picking up where Fated ends, Claimed focuses on Emma and Dage coming together. Emma is rescued by Dage and brought into his world. She's been dreaming of Dage since she was a young girl and he's been dreaming about Emma for centuries. Dage knows Emma is his mate, but it's gonna take a bit of time and effort to convince Emma of that. Emma is reluctant to fall in as Dage's mate, having seen the future she knows her time is limited and she needs to focus on saving her sister and protecting Dage. I think Claimed was much better than Fated and I will be moving on to Hunted next. I will say I'm getting them all for free through my public library app though, at $10 a pop on the store they are highly over priced.

Paranormal fans should run to pick up Rebecca Zanetti' s latest release in the Dark Protectors series. CLAIMED is a paranormal thriller that is truly exciting and captivating.
Emma Paulsen is a scientist with psychic abilities that has been taken captive by Kurjans, an evil vampire race. Her only hope is the one man that has haunted her dreams for years. This one man she wants desperately, yet knows she can never have. Yet Dage Kayrs, King of the Realm, will do anything to save his queen. Once Dage rescues her, he does everything in his power to make her his mate as she is destined to be.
While a part of her may want to be with Dage, Emma does everything to resist his plan. Her visions have shown her the consequences of becoming his mate and she wants to do everything she can to change the future. She doesn't realize what she's up against as the attraction between them grows stronger each day. In the meantime, she agrees to help Dage figure out the cause and cure behind a deadly virus that is attacking the vampire's mates. As more women are affected, Emma is determined to find a cure before it's too late.
Everything about this book is fabulous. Throwing you into the action starting with the first page, CLAIMED takes you on a thrilling and sexy adventure. The kind of adventure that leave you unwilling to put down the book for too long. With CLAIMED, you will find another great vampire series that enthralls you with breath-taking drama and alluring characters. In the midst of all the drama is a scorching romance that set the pages on fire. CLAIMED is all you could want and then some.
This book would not be a success without a wonderful cast of characters. Emma is a spunky, yet adorable leading lady. Everything about her was admirable. I appreciated the fact that Emma had an intelligent head on her shoulders and her decisions were motivated by more than just instinct. The scientist in her was always determined to find the answer, and this gave her character great depth and respectability. Her mate, Dage was an absolutely fantastic hero. There are just so many great things about his character. He was understanding and always willing to accept Emma's stubborn ways. Yet in the same breath, he was the seductive hunter trying to convince Emma they belonged together forever. He was a great alpha hero...without being too barbaric.
Ms Zanetti pens a very engaging story, but it's the romance that will capture your attention. It was thoroughly entertaining reading Dage and Emma's game of cat and mouse while their attraction became undeniable. This author creates two characters that have plenty of characteristics that make them great individually but together make a stunning couple. You will have no problem rooting for them and their happily ever after.
CLAIMED is book two in the Dark Protectors series. You can tell it is somewhat of a continuation from the first novel as far as the action is concerned, but you won't have any trouble catching up with all the details of the series. CLAIMED is the first novel I've read from the series and I absolutely loved it. So much so I can't wait to read the rest. Ms Zanetti sets up quite a few relationships for future novels and each new possibility only makes the series more intriguing. It definitely gives readers something to look forward to.
I cannot say enough great things about Rebecca Zanetti's CLAIMED. When you have a passionate romance, exciting drama and intriguing characters, what more can you really ask for? Prepare yourself to become completely absorbed in Ms Zanetti's Dark Protector series as it takes you for an exciting and enjoyable ride.

Wow! Wow! And Wow! OMG I loved Fated, but Claimed was so much better. Right from the beginning the action starts and it never stops.
Dage, King of the Realm is a sexy super Alpha Male hero who is arrogant, dominate and very protective of his mate and family.
His gaze swept her head to toe. "You're wearing my colors, love." He stalked forward and leaned down to brush her cheek with a kiss. "Soon you'll be wearing me," he whispered for her ears only.
He is use to everyone doing what he says with out any questions, but his mate Emma is a strong and stubborn woman. I am so happy Emma was chosen as his mate rather then a wimpy heroine. It just made the book more fun and interesting.
His gaze sharpened. "I've given you until tomorrow morning. Lower those shields or I'll shred them."
Anger began to boil like acid in her stomach. She lifted her chin. "We'll see about that, King."
Dage and Emmafs relationship is not easy. She defies him every chance she gets. Loved how Dage and Emma would bicker back and forth.
His jaw firmed. "You will be marked."
Her temper stirred to war with desire "No."
His full lips quirked. "I should've known the Queen of the Realm would be a pain in my a**."
Loved how we got to see Conn and Moira. It was great to see them talking and getting us ready for their story. Conn is definitely just like his brothers with an alpha attitude.
Yeah baby...Conn already had me in Claimed with...
"Meaning I coming to get you."
I was so excited we are introduce to new secondary characters, Caleb and Lily. I am hoping they will be a couple and get their own story. I loved these two. She is strong will and he is a super sexy Alpha Male.
Lily tossed her head away and shoved at Caleb's chest. "Bite me, Caleb."
He raised an eyebrow "Apparently Lady Lily has entered this century. You use words like that, milady, and you'll get what you're asking for."
I adore Janie and was happy we got more of her dreams with her friend Zane. I am curious on what he is and look forward to more of his story and the roll he plays in this series.
I highly recommend Claimed if you are a Paranormal Romance fan who loves a fast paced novel with tons of action, angry sexing, strong heroines, many uber Alpha males and a great plot. Series should be read in order starting with Fated book 1. Claimed is a keeper and will re-read again.

Emma Paulsen has been running for months. She is a geneticist. Unknowingly her lab was being used as a research facility for the evil Kurjans. The Kurjans plan to find a way to take their enemies' mates. Emma will do anything to keep that from happening since her sister is now mated to a vampire. Emma has psychic premonitions and knows things are going to get rough before they get better for those she loves. She is determined to protect those she loves if it's the last thing she does. However, she will have to escape the Kurjans first.
Dage Kayrs is the King of the Realm. He's a vampire but he rules over most supernatural beings. He has waited three hundred years to find his mate. He has had visions of her and the anticipation has only intensified. Knowing his mate is in danger, Dage will stop at nothing to protect her but he has to find her first. Finding and rescuing Emma from the clutches of the kurjans may be the easy part. Making her believe he can love and protect her and her family will be a war in itself.
With the Kurjan virus finding victims, the hope of the realm lands on Emma's shoulders. Will she find a cure to this devastating virus before it takes those she loves the most? Can Emma let down her shields enough to let in her King and mate?
All of my favorite characters are back in this second installment of the Dark Protector series, Claimed. I thought the first book Fated started off with a bang, well Ms. Zanetti must be determined to outdo herself because Claimed drops you into the heart pounding action on page one and doesn't let you take a breath until it's over. I am awestruck at the outstanding visuals that propel these scenes to a higher level.
Emma and Dage burn up the pages of Claimed with their passionate battle of wills. Emma's history keeps her from trusting easily or giving her love. She is a very independent woman used to taking care of herself and she's not ready to hand over that duty to someone else. Dage is a typical male alpha vampire he's been waiting for his mate for centuries. It's so difficult for him not to lock her in a room to protect her from herself and everyone else. He doesn't want anything to happen to any of his people much less the woman he will spend the rest of his life with. Now, I think he is pretty patient with Emma at first. However, I do just love when he finally has enough of her denial and starts showing her exactly how he feels. Emma and Dage's mating dance is as humorous as it is hot.
I love that Claimed gives the reader a bigger glimpse into the different races that make up the supernatural realm. Witches, prophets, werewolves, shifters and even demons get a little face time in Claimed. We learn more about the Kayrs brothers and their powers. I'm excited about some of the other matings to come. These couples take passion to new heights. Katie the powerful lioness is back and I love her storyline I cannot wait to read more about her! Mostly I'm thrilled to get to know little Janie better. Janie is a sweet child and it seems there will be no end to her power. We get hints as to what will happen in the future and I am so excited to learn more about this child and her impact on the future of the realm.
The latest supernatural showdown between the vampires and the kurjans blows away the competition. Rebecca Zanetti's Claimed brings the paranormal genre to a new heightened level of sophistication. You don't want to miss this Joyfully Reviewed Recommended Read.

Emma Paulsen is a genetic scientist, a seer of the future, and a possessor of the 3 Bs - brains, beauty and bravery. She's more than a match for Dage Kayrs, King of the Realm, 300+-yr-old vampire and wielder of several known (visions, teleportation, controller of the elements) and unknown powers.
This story picks up where Fated left off. Emma has been kidnapped by the Kurjans and is on her way to be forced to mate with their new leader. Dage has no intention of letting that happen because Emma is his destined mate and Queen to his King. As she's trying to figure out a way to escape a Black Hawk helicopter he tracks her down, rescues her and takes her back with him. Being a vampire with special powers sure comes in handy.
A lab is acquired for her and Dage's brother, Kane, to do research to counteract some nasty viruses the evil Kurjans have spent the last hundred years developing. Several of their people are infected and it's a race against time while they try to find a cure, find the spy in their midst and fight the Kurjans. Plus, avert a possible war with the Demons. And a possible war with the Irish Coven when Conn, Dage's brother, goes to Ireland to claim his mate. Just another day in the life of the King of the Realm.
There are several side stories in Claimed also as we meet the leader of the Demons, some leaders of shifter groups, a few witches and some prophets. All of the threads introduced in Fated are coming together with threads from Claimed and we're starting to see a picture forming. Questions are answered and more are posed. Rebecca Zanetti is a cruel cruel wench for keeping us on tenterhooks.
The Kayrs brothers are definitely HOT, their mates are no simpering misses, the action is fast-paced, the characters well-formed, the love scenes smokin', the fight scenes action-packed without being overly long and tedious (as some tend to be) and the mystery is compelling.

DNF. Only 13% into the book and Emma, the brilliant research scientist who has been on the run for weeks before being captured and then rescued from the evil vampires, thinks that she can go back to her house and continue her work in her lab. Did I mention that she used to (unknowingly) work for the evil vampires who want to get their hands on her?
What an idiot! I just cannot waste my time on her story.

A Daring Rescue
Emma Paulsen is a geneticist driven by science. But she's also a psychic, so when a dark, good-hearted vampire frees her from the clutches of the evil Kurjans, she realizes he must be the man who's been haunting her dreams. But with a virus threatening vampires' mates, Emma may discover a whole new meaning of "lovesick". . .
A Deadly Decision
As King of the Realm, Dage Kayrs has learned to practice diplomacy. Still, it's taken three hundred years to find his mate, so he'll stop at nothing to protect her--even if it means turning his back on his own kind. . .
Emma Paulsen is an independent woman and a research scientist. She's also a strong psychic, which is why both the good guys and the bad guys want her. Her bigger problem is that Dage Kayrs, as King wants her for more than her brains or gift. He wants her as his Queen and means to claim her while she's still alive.
Emma is fighting Dage off as hard as she can; she refuses to give up her independence and freedom to choose her own path. Unfortunately Dage has marked her and with this on top of the war going on, and the research she must finish she feels stretched to her limits.
This is the second book in this new series, the first being Fated. I found this book to be an exciting and fast read. You get pulled into the story and immediately feel called upon to take sides. You will cheer when Emma pulls a fast one, or maybe you'll cheer when Dage wins an argument with his detractors. However you find yourself, it will be a real roller coaster ride of adventure, love, and thrills.

I consider myself a HUGE fan of Rebecca Zanetti's "Dark Protector's" series. Which is Fated now Claimed. Before I started blogging, I wasn't a paranormal fan. And now I'm hooked. Not only am I hooked but I'm hooked on this series. Rebecca's books have a little bit of everything. It has Action, Science, Romance and my favorite it's sexy! It's so sexy it's steamy. Though it has sexy and steamy scenes, it's written very tastefully. I love her writing. PERIOD. This series has become one of my favorite series.
"Claimed" practically picked up right away from where "Fated" left off. So that's a good thing. You won't miss any in between scenes. I love when an author picks up where they left off. Claimed is the story of the oldest brother which happens to be the king. His name is Dage and he's one sexy vampire. In fact all the brothers are sexy. If I were one of their mates, I wouldn't let my mate out of my sight. The power they all possess will make any woman fall on her knees (Literally).
Emma is being chased by the Kurjans (Bad guys) but Emma happens to be Dage's mate and their is NO way he's going to let anything happen to her. Not as long as he's alive. Yes in this series vampires can get killed but not by your typical stake through the heart. It's different. And I won't tell you how because I want you to read the book (series). So Dage knows that Emma is his mate but Emma being the independent stubborn woman she is, refuses to submit herself to any man. Even if it's someone as sexy as Dage. And boy is he sexy.
In Claimed, there is a virus threatening all the vampires mates. And when the virus hits Cara, Emma's sister, it gets more personal. So Emma along with Kane (another sexy vampire/brother), they join together and research the virus and work to find a cure. This virus affects only the mates of vampires. Basically what happens is once the vampire brands their mate, they sort of become immortal as well. And what this virus does is, it makes them human again. What's the reason behind the virus, well you have to read the book to find out. So Emma is determined to find a cure to save her sister. But while working on a cure for the virus, Emma is also fighting her desires for Dage. And when you read about them too, you can't help but get a little hot and bothered. It's obvious they have chemistry and it's clear that they're meant for each other. If she just gives in.
Need I say that this book is a Definite Good Choice for Reading? Because it most definitely is!

Dage & Emma's Story:
Fun, fast paced PNR series. Great storyline, characters and suspense. Instalove, mates for life, possessive Alphas and grotesque evil foes. There are Vampires, Shifters, witches, Demons and more. This is a continued storyline focusing on a different couple per book.
New characters where introduced and all characters from book 1 returned to book 2. This book had lots of scientific talk that made my eyes cross a little bit but I am loving the story building. A lot of intriguing characters.

I am going to start off by saying that I loved Emma! She didn't cause me to want to pull my hair out like her sister Cara (the heroine in book 1). Claimed starts off with Dage rescuing Emma from the Kurjans. Emma has been on the run for 5 weeks and the Kurjans has finally caught up to her. Like Cara, Emma has extra abilities; she's a psychic. Emma has been dreaming about Dage since she was a teenager so there is no surprise when she is face-to-face with him. Dage is psychic also and he has known for centuries that Emma is his destined mate. Emma has known this as well but she does not want to become his mate because she had a vision of her eventual death and how it destroys Dage.
The sexual tension between Dage and Emma is so believable. Emma does not make it easy for Dage. She knows all about the mating and the branding but she is not going to give in. Her goal is to find a cure for the drug that the Kurjans had her working on and then moving on with her life. She has no plans on becoming the Kind of the Realm's mate, destiny or no destiny. Dage has other plans for Emma. He has been dreaming about her for centuries and there's no way he is going to let her slip away easily.
I felt that Dage and Emma's relationship had more heat and tension that made the romance between them more believable. In the first book, Fated, Cara gave in too early to Talen and Talen didn't come off as the alpha male that we are supposed to believe him to be. Emma is a geneticist so when she is trying to find a way to counteract the virus that the Kurjans injected into Cara and Katie, there is a lot of scientific jargon throughout the book. Some of it made my eyes glaze over and I felt that at times, it was too detailed.
I enjoyed reading Claimed and I look forward to reading the next installment in the series. We got a peak at Conn and Moira's interaction and relationship in this book and it looks like Moira will be another woman who won't easily give into a Kayr man.
I suggest checking out this series if you're looking for a different take on vampires. The series, for me, continues to get better with each book.

Read the first one and enjoyed it, but felt the characters were lacking (wrote review explaining). The second book, Claimed, is definitely showing signs of improvement on the first, has the characters from the first continuing on their own storylines, and I like that. I like to see the development.
I can see Dage and Emma having a good raport with each other. The sex is hot and fast (all the time again). And while I can start to see differences in the writing of the first two books, they are comming across as too similar. Seen it happen with other authors (where characters and books are too similar so it gets boring to read). I would hate to see the same happen with this series because the premise behind this series is very good.
I wish I could give this book 4.5 stars. It's not quite there with the 5 but is definitely better than the 4 stars I gave the first book.
And again, love the way Janie has her own little world - very clever.
Looking forward to reading the next.

I read A LOT of books and I am always glad to be able to give a raving review. They can't all be winners but R Zanetti writes a winner. I really enjoyed this book and the entire series. The books grabbed my attention and kept me interesting. The main characters were interesting. Although it is an alpha-male type book, the females retain their intelligence and dignity. I hate that many of the strong or dominant male hero books now reduce women to brainless subs. Its fun to find a title with great romance that doesn't sacrifice a quality story to get it. The sci fi creatures are awesome. The writing is excellent and I cannot wait for the next book.

This story picks up right where Fated leaves off. Dage Kayrs is the King of the Vampire Realm and his feisty geneticist mate Emma likes to be the protector in the relationship. He's not having it. There is some mystery in this story that had me guessing (wrong I might add) until the end. There's a lot of action all while Dage and Emma can't seem to keep their hands of each other. The adorable four year old Janie returns with her mom, Cara, Emma's sister. All of the Kayrs brothers are fantastically powerful and delicious. Sign me up for one! There is a new ally thrown in the mix with an interesting story no doubt. Along with the new ally are new enemies but you don't want to mess with this crazed King! He has a lot of POWER he only unleashes when absolutely necessary and it will be necessary.
Once again this story sets up the next one nicely. I can't wait to get started.

Since I'm starting to sound like a broken record concerning Rebecca Zanetti's Dark Protectors series, I'll most likely make this my last review and just rate the rest as I read them. CLAIMED is my favorite in the series so far. I loved Emma, and Dage is a hero to die for. Ms. Zanetti's witty dialogue and sense of humor between the characters makes the book a fun, exciting read.
What I truly admire about Ms. Zanetti's style is that she introduces secondary characters gradually, but integrates them in such a way that by the next book, I'm eager to read more about these well fleshed out personalities. That's talent, and what a great way to hook the reader on the next book...like me!
CLAIMED, just another great book by a great author.
Focused. Strong. True.

Geneticist Emma Paulsen has always protected her empath sister plant physiologist Dr. Cara Paulsen and her four years old niece child Janie. However, Emma lost that role to vampire warrior Talen Kayrs (see Fated) though she still seeks a cure to save her infected sibling and unborn nephew.
Talen's brother Dage, King of the Realm, wants Emma as his mate. He has waited centuries for her and has no patience when she rejects his mark. To her chagrin, Emma is attracted to the ultimate chauvinist, but rejects his bossy attitude. Meanwhile the enemies of the vampires,, the Kurjans, wants her research and are willing to kill the innocent to obtain it.
Although Dage's bullying abuse adds realism as he is not a sensual vampire but instead someone used to getting his way, readers will dislike him. Still the story line is action-packed and the sex scenes heated as Dage's only success with Emma resides in the bedroom. Readers will enjoy the romantic urban fantasy but outside of the mark subplot, no major threads are climaxed.

Finishing the 2nd book in this series I have decided that I am in love with these sexy vampires and their world! Action, mystery and romance all in one story! I love all the characters and can't wait to learn more about these sexy brothers!! Onward to book 3!!
Just an afterthought but If anyone has read any negative reviews I can't imagine why. This series is a paranormal fantasy read. If you Are offended by hunky vampires, shifters and demons taking mates, which they adore, by old world standards then maybe you shouldn't be reading fantasy romance! Just sayin...... ?

Amazing new take on vampires, Ms. Zanetti's vampires are innovative and exciting!
Emma Paulsen has been on the run for weeks. She is trying to escape the Kurjans and now also the Vampires. During her work as a geneticist she discovers that she isn't researching a cure for cancer but something more sinister. Grabbing her research and running is her only option. A race of evil beings called Kurjans are hunting her down for more than her research though. While on the run she discovers another race of beings, the Vampires, enemies of the Kurjans. Unknown to her, one particular vampire wants more than the stolen research; he wants her as his mate.
For several centuries Dage Kayrs has dreamed of his mate; her face, her body, her warm embrace. Now he knows she is out there and he is determined to find her. Not only to save her from the Kurjans, but to save himself. As King of the Realm he needs her to complete him. He knows she will be a hard woman to claim, but he is determined to have her anyways.
This is the second book in Ms. Zanetti's exciting new series. Her universe of vampires is refreshing and exhilarating. These are probably the most human vampires I have read about. While they have elements of some of my favorite vampires, they are in a class all their own. Both the Vampires and the Kurjans can only be male, so they have to look outside their race to find mates, but only certain females will work. They need females with physic abilities. The Kurjans have developed a virus that attacks the mates of the Vampires. Emma is in a race to find a cure to save both her sister and her unborn nephew.
This series has a strong undercurrent of adventure, almost overshadowing the romance. The medical lingo and background does not take away from the general story, but enhances it. Ms. Zanetti has developed an engaging and exciting new world.
The males in this series are a hard group to love. They are extremely alpha and exasperating at times. Their raw masculinity and power draw you in and holds on tight. Luckily the heroines are just as strong and know how to bring these big brutes to their knees.
If you are looking for a new adventure in the paranormal world, look no further then this new series. Fated and Claimed both have heart pounding action and sizzling chemistry, what more can you ask for!

It is more like 3 1/2 stars. I did not read the series in order and found the first book Fated or Provoked to be much more enjoyable. Emma was independent; however, rather tiresome. It is really nice to read about an intelligent and independent female, however, when it goes on and on, it gets rather tiresome. I should not have to wait until the end of the book for her to recognize that it is okay to be in love and also be independent. All in all, I did enjoy the book and will check out the other books in this series..

Dage is a fearsome king and Emma his prey, his love, his mate. But Emma isn't ready to give in and submit. She's been a protector for such a long time; first for Cara, her sister, and then for Janie, her niece. She's a renowned geneticist and has important work to do to find a cure for the virus and catalyst to save Cara and her unborn son and any other mates who are targeted. But she also has a calling as Dage's queen and mate. Can she find her way to becoming his protector too?

I started the series with this book because as the synopsis said it was stand alone. However I am now invested in Emma, Dage, Cara, Jannie and the rest of the vampires, shifters, witches, and prophets. What a scientific way to explain all the mysteries of our dreams. This is a book I recommend. The women are smart, strong, and the men who love them are smart enough to let them be.

Emma is a scientist, also Cara's sister, who is running from the Kurjans. She is working on a cure for the virus the Kurjans invented. Dage is king of the realm. He has been dreaming of his mate for centuries and finally finds her. But Emma knows the future and doesn't want to put Dage thru the pain. They must find out who is giving their location away to the enemy, fight vamps, and find the cure.
Exciting, sexy, and a little bloody.

I was really excited about continuing this series and was only interested in reading the second book because in the first book, Dage and Emma seemed kind of interesting - and they were! However, I have now become a little more interested in a couple of the main characters so I will continue with the series for now.

Now that I've read the entire series, I want to go back and start all over ..for what would be the 3rd time. These books are well worth reading, with some twists I didn't expect. I truly hope that there will be at least one more book in the series ... cliff hanger here ... read them and find out. I'm leaving this review on the 2nd book so more readers will continue on with the series.

Dage king of the realm and Emma cara's sister, scientist, protector. Great match for the king, overprotective of her sister, Dage overprotective of her, his brothers especially the youngest jase. Virus 27 still a threat and progressing in Cara,Katie,Maggie and newly infected prophet Lilly. Kane and Emma working towards the cure-Kane stupidly infects himself- only to prove vampires are immune. Ending a little anti climatic, no big showdown with Franco, but still a great installment.

I have to admit...I would not have purchased this series(2nd book) however, a friend did and loaned them to me. I am so thankful! I am addicted...these books are so much fun. They have strong independent women, stronger men, lots of humor, and some steamy sexy romps.
This series should be read in order!!!! There is so much to follow as the characters and story lines develop. But, nonetheless, you will not be disappointed.
If I had to do it over, I would have gladly purchased this series
: ) Enjoy

I'm loving the cast of this series. The characters are lovable, the plot makes you have to keep reading and the authors style is amazing. Five well earned stars Ms. Zanetti. You came highly recommended to me and I can most certainly see why! I will in turn, be highly recommending you as well. On to book 3! xoxo

If you like relationships without substance then this is the book for you. I unfortunately like a well developed love story. The relationship between Dage and Emma was anything but. The author needed to spend more time with the back story so that the reader would cheer for the characters when they finally jump into bed together, not scratch our heads and say that's all there is.

I am so impressed with this series so far. It is a utter masterpiece, it is far one of the best I've ever read. My emotions run deep in this one. Even though this is a supernatural book series, it's written to be so Modern, so real life. I just love this author and her skills as a writer have really pulled me in. Thank you again for a awesome read

Very enjoyable. Now there are like five or more stories already written in this serial so I won't bother to complain of plot holes big enough to tunnel a horse thru, and instead say the writer worked darn hard on this and a lot of people did and will enjoy book #2.

This second book in the series was better. The author brought in the other brothers more, which I think is going to be the strength of this series. I mentioned in my previous review, that the books should focus more on the male character. This one focused on the woman. Even though I liked Emma much more than Cara, without a strong hero, the series is in jeopardy of not having a clear pacing. This book focuses more on submission, which was fine, but again the voice wasn't strong enough for either character so it was hard to read it as much more than an act. I am still also finding it hard for believe these are vampires. I am still holding out hope that it will get better. I look forward to Connlan's story.

I enjoyed this one even more than FATED! The chemistry was incredible. OMG, page 66, OMG. And somehow despite the break-neck fast pacing, one still had the opportunity to get to know more characters and get teasers for later books. I have no idea how I'm going to manage to wait that long!
