Heath Jones, along with his fellow blood brothers, have formed the Lost Bastards Investigative Agency, they seek out the bad and handle them in their own way. When Heath learns that the Copper Killers latest victim is someone he knows, he takes it a little personal, and will stop at nothing to get justice for her and her sister. His plan is to handle it all through their agency and keep things on the down low, but the victims sister, Anya, has a little plan of revenge of her own and draws attention to Heath and his brothers, which brings about a whole new kind of danger. Now not only is he on the hunt to catch the Copper Killer, but also finds himself being hunted by a past that he hoped would stay hidden.

The spine-tingling and break-taking adventure continues in this second installment of the Blood Brothers series, you better buckle-up and hold on tight because Ms. Zanetti's Blood Brothers are about to take you on another thrilling literary ride!! The moment this one starts, it picks up where things left off in the first installment, along with adding a few new characters for readers to fall for and a whole new set of problems are about to arise for the brothers to sort out. This story is filled with action, suspense, and some toe curling romance here and there that is sure to steam up your tablet screen, I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it!! I highly recommend this series, these brooding, sexy and protective alphas are sure to swoop in and steal your heart from the very first page, and leave you highly satisfied!!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title.

Rebecca Zanetti’s “Blood Brothers” series started off with “Deadly Silence”, and continues with the “Lethal Lies” that haunt the Blood Brothers. A spin off of the Sin Brothers Series, these blood brothers are trying to eliminate the evil that turned them into experimental soldiers for pure evil intentions. Hiding behind the “Lost Bastards Investigative Agency” as private investigators, Ryker, Heath and Denver are trying to create a normal life for themselves.

All Anya Best wants is revenge as for her sister murdered by the infamous Copper Killer. Profiling and helping the FBI to catch the killer stalking her, she would do anything to bring justice to the innocent murdered, even if she has to fake an engagement to Heath Jones, one of the blood brothers, sexy, brooding and deadly.

Heath Jones wants the same thing that Anya wants, to bring the killer to justice and try to escape the crazy people hell bent on capturing them all and continue enhanced experiments. Falling for Anya was not on the cards; it only brings danger and death to their door. But passion and love have a way of creeping in amidst the chaos and death created by evil.

And the revelation of the Copper Killer is one lethal and deadly surprise!

“Lethal Lies” is the second in the ongoing saga of the brothers created by Rebecca Zanetti, and prowess at creating amazing stories of suspense, adrenaline and nail biting twists.

Received an ARC from Forever (Grand Central Publishing) via NetGalley for an honest review.

The second book in author Rebecca Zanetti’s Blood Brothers series, Lethal Lies is a complex and engaging romantic suspense read that completely sweeps you up into its world. And given that this story deals with some enhanced abilities, criminal psychology, and the hunt for a serial killer, I was all in right from the start. Of course, it helps that the book is also masterfully written and wholly entertaining.

I loved the themes of family and friendship in Lethal Lies because it added a lot of emotional depth to a complicated suspense plot. It also allowed the characters to act and react based on their feelings about the story events, and all of those actions and reactions felt intrinsic to the characters. Which made me love Anya and Heath and their romantic chemistry all the more.

Heath Jones, along with his brothers, Denver and Ryker, run Lost Bastard’s Investigative Services and it’s their latest case, the hunt for the Copper Killer, that has Heath teaming up with Anya Best, a criminal psychologist with a personal stake in catching the killer. Anya’s refusal to back down proved a good challenge for Heath and created a lot of great moments between them, which made reading about them in this story a blast.

Action-packed with plenty of romance, suspense, and mystery, Lethal Lies is a dynamite romantic suspense read that you won’t want to put down. It has a great cast of characters and is such a compelling story. Highly recommend reading it!

Just like the first in the Blood Brother series this one is just as gritty, dark and takes you on a crazy ride twist and turns. This book picks up where the last one left off on the copper killer and we soon discover why this person is killing red headed women.

Lethal Lies has so much going on if the reader didn't read the first book there is no catching up in this one because it starts off with a bang. Adding more characters than the first book which at times can get a little confusing and as if the author realized that she changed the story mid way though to focus on the two leads in the story and their romance. Leading the Copper Killer running around and their past catching up with the brothers. Which again you are trying to remember all the different characters which if readers are not careful you will get lost.

The book has its sexy times, confession times and two lost souls who need each other.
I can't wait to find out more about Dr. Isobel Madison and what will happen to her in the end.
Each books add more details into the blood brothers lives along with bring others from her Sin brothers series which I didn't read.

If you have read the Sin brother series this will add to your love of those books if you haven't just another characters in a long list that show up though out the book.

This is a great series to get lost in for a couple of hours.

I can't wait to read the next in the series

Lethal Lies (Blood Brothers #2) by Rebecca Zanetti
4 stars
M/F Romance, Suspense
Triggers: Murder, stalking, taunting
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

This book is the second installment and it is just as filled with action as the first.

Anya was being stalked - taunted and doing what she thought was the right thing, she contacted the FBI. Unfortunately, it turned out that the killer was one step ahead and was able to get the upper hand. In the process of finding out who this stalker is, her sister is murdered. With few options, Anya turns to Heath.

While trying to figure out what was going on in the Copper Killer case, Anya runs in to Heath. He is part of the PI group that her sister was working with. He and his brothers are still running from Ned Cobb and Isobel Madison, but they are hoping to go offensive rather than always play defense.

The romance that is in this story is not very developed. It's more of a suspense and mystery story. However, what little glimpse we see of both Heath and Anya, you can tell that they will fit together. While they don't always see eye to eye, Anya seems to be able to stand up to Heath.

Overall, this was a fast paced story with a lot going on. You definitely need to read the previous books to know who all of the characters all and have a good handle on what's going on.

I can't wait for Denver's story. I feel that he's fairly deep and hope for a great story.

Dark, gritty and intense Zanetti wove a tale that will hook the reader. Both Heath and Anya have baggage but are drawn to each other. I loved how stubborn they both were. She to catch the killer, and him to protect her. Both are smart, strong, and determined. It was interesting watching them butt heads and begin to work together.

I struggled a little with the romantic connection. It wasn’t an earth moving romance filled with swoons, but as the author peeled back their layers I felt myself rooting for their happily ever after. I expect instalove in this genre, but feel Zanetti failed to make me swallow the little blue pill. Despite Heath being a bit of a knucklehead, we avoided a lot of unnecessary drama.

Zanetti did an excellent job of balancing all of the threads. The Cooper case has exposed them to the Sheriff, and Dr. Isobel Madison, the women who genetically altered them. I thoroughly enjoyed how the two suspense threads were woven together. There were plenty of twists in the Cooper Killer case. Zanetti delivered heartstopping moments and plenty of action. The suspense was fantastic and told in such a way that it had me on edge. This more than made up for the so-so romance.

LETHAL LIES offered us more details about the brothers past, their biological parents and more. We get a few updates from the Sin Brothers which only further enticed me to start that series. The overall arc, brothers, and perspectives of the villains make this a must read series.

In Lethal Lies, the second book in Rebecca Zanetti’s Blood Brothers series, the action, suspense and romance continue!

This book focuses on Heath Jones (one of the three Blood Brothers) and Criminal Psychologist Anya Best (the sister of FBI agent Loretta from book one). In book one, Loretta had set herself up as bait for the Copper Killer and had been kidnapped. In book 2, Anna is working with the FBI trying to help find the Copper Killer. Innocent women are being killed, including her sister. She wants to set herself up as bait since she finds out it’s her who he really wants and to get revenge for her sister’s death. Anything to stop more women from being killed. Heath is doing everything he can to protect Anna and not let the serial killer get to her as they work to find out who he is. As the story progresses, Heath and Anna grow very close and develop strong feelings for each other. Their chemistry together is a hot one! Not only are they trying to find the serial killer, but Heath and his brothers are still searching for the evil, sadistic Sheriff Cobb who made their lives hell when they were kids at a group home for boys and scientist Dr. Isobel Madison who has genetically created super soldiers and men with special abilities (including the Blood Brothers themselves).

Hot romance and great action and suspense, this story kept me captivated from start to finish and what an ending! I’m very much looking forward to Blood Brother Denver’s story!

Rebecca Zanetti creates memorable characters and builds exciting worlds driven by her larger than life characters. She started this crazy plotline with Sin Brothers, and this spin-off series, Blood Brothers, continues the intriguing tale. This is the second one, and it’s Heath’s story.

How do you live with the knowledge that a serial killer is slaughtering women because of you. At least that’s how Anya Best feels when she realizes the connection between the strangely terrifying letters she’s been receiving with startling photos of red headed women and the Copper Killer on the news.

Enlisting the aid of her half sister, FBI Special Agent Loretta Jackson, Anya uses her training as a psychologist to profile the killer. When her sister goes missing in the middle of the investigation, Anya blames herself even more. If she hadn’t asked for a Loretta’s help, she wouldn’t be in danger.

Heath Jones and his brothers own Lost Bastards Investigations. While trying to outrun their past, they’re also investigating the Copper Killer, and Heath had personally worked with Anya’s sister. He is not only willing to help Anya search for clues to find her sister-he’s willing to take a personal role. His motives might be more than altruistic.

I enjoyed this continuation of the series and lived meeting these two characters. Part of my enjoyment was also anticipation of more to come, so hurry up Ms Zanetti!

Anya is wicked smart and has the feisty red head temperament I could totally get behind! Heath is the tall, silent, over-protective alpha who helps injured people and animals(aww moment there)..I think I'm in love with the guy myself! And when they get together, I simply adored the tangible chemistry between these two-all that smeltering, sexy steaminess was enough to make me sigh!

I also really enjoyed the camaraderie between Heath, Ryker, and Denver and-by extension-the Gray Brothers. It could flip between laid back to intense in a heartbeat, but it was very clear just how in tune these guys were with each other.

Oh..and the suspense- beautifully done! I never saw the bad guy coming until the very end! For once, I didn't skip ahead to read the ending first. Instead, I found myself anxiously flipping pages thinking who the heck could it be? The FBI agent, the bat-nutty scientist, the disgusting excuse for a sheriff, the list could go on and on..

I was disappointed with Deadly Silence, but am glad I stuck with this series because Lethal Lies was a smashing read! From the start, the action and suspense was fast paced and highly intriguing! Heath and Anya's romance was relatively quick and intense and I enjoyed it along with the humorous moments courtesy of Heath's band of brothers. But man, my favorite parts were definitely the suspenseful bits-so freaking good!

Lethal Lies is the second book in the Blood Brothers series but it's the first one that I have read. I felt there was enough background given to read this as a standalone but I am curious at to what happens in Deadly Silence.

Anya has been getting letters from the serial killer dubbed The Copper Killer. She has no idea who he is or why he is obsessed with her but when her sister becomes his latest victim, she is determined more than ever to find out. Heath is a private eye who was working with Anya's sister on The Copper Killer case. He makes it his mission to protect Anya and avenge her sister. He has some dark secrets that could come back to haunt him. Anya makes a bold move in an attempt to taunt the killer that puts herself and Heath in danger. Will they be able to stop the killer and keep Heath's enemies at bay? Or will it end in disaster?

I really enjoyed this book and the way there are multiple story lines going at once. This is my first book by Rebecca Zanetti and I can understand why her books are so popular. I look forward to reading more of her books.

Anya Best has been working with the FBI to help find the Copper Killer. Watching victim after victim being taken has been hitting close to home… and when the latest victim ends up being her sister, Anya is done with working the case behind the scenes.

Heath Jones has been working on finding the serial killer himself, but with more than one danger threatening him and his brothers the case was put on the back burner… until Anya uses him to taunt the killer with some devastating media attention.

This was a fantastic and heart pounding read… while hunting and trying to stay a step ahead of a brilliant minded serial killer, Anya and Heath are working against time and the inevitable strike of the killer. They have an unmistakable attraction that may very well be a bad idea, but when witnessing the impact of so many deaths up close, they can not deny the need to live their lives to the fullest.

With interesting and developed characters, a carefully planned out plot, and a well written and fascinating storyline this book is a must read.

This is the second book in the Blood Brothers series, and it picks up where the first book ended. I love the continuation of the story, and revisiting all of the characters and can not wait to see what happens in book three!

I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.

Another phenomenal read from Rebecca Zanetti! I hope she continues to write books about sexy, genetically-enhanced soldiers because I have been hooked since book one of the Sin Brothers series. I cannot get enough! Rebecca's writing is great as always in Lethal Lies. She never fails to deliver amazing books filled with equal parts action and sexy romance. This story feels darker and edgier than previous novels. I loved that there was a lot more of a suspense element in this story due to the serial killer aspect. All of the other books have their fair share of suspense, but it was extra prevalent in this book. It will keep you flipping the pages, perched on the edge of your seat.

These characters are both dealing with a lot of things throughout the story and I love how it brings them together. One of the strongest things the reader sees in these novels is the different relationships. Though I love the relationship between Heath and Anya, I also love seeing the three brothers interacting. They have such a strong bond and it translates so well within the story.

The ending of this book has me ready for book three! Denver has intrigued me from the beginning, so I am very much looking forward to reading his story. These books are a must for anyone looking for swoon worthy heroes and women that are as awesome as they are.

Wow! What a fantastic ride! The danger kept me glued to the pages, as well as the hot romance. Sexy, Heath sure met his match in Anya, and she was perfect for all the twists and turns in the story. She was strong, yet vulnerable, and I liked her from the start. I also love how the Lost Bastards interact with each other. Not a lot of banter, but a solid brotherly relationship that is heartwarming. Bad guys you love to hate, heart-pounding action, and a feel-good romance. It ticked off all my requirements.

This is the second book in this series about blood brothers, Ryker, Heath, and Denver. The three guys run The Lost Bastards Investigative Agency together. In the first book, readers were introduced to the three guys and got to know Ryker. In this story it is Heath's turn. Heath is one of those damaged souls that some women are into and think they can save. Yet, Heath comes off as cool and collected. Well, he did before Anya was in the picture. I appreciated the fact that Heath and Anya did not fall into bed instantly. So, when they did it was real. Their romance did not take over the story.

Speaking of the story. It started out great. However, the focus shifted away from the Copper Killer to Anya and Heath. I am complaining some as it seemed a long time until the focus was back on the Copper Killer, which was supposed to be the main focus of this story. To make up for this instead I got to know more about the evil, Dr. Isobel Madison. The doctor who created the brothers to be super soldiers. The guys have been trying to track down Dr. Madison and stop her. I am a fan of this series. There is nothing "lethal" about this book, other then, losing a few hours getting lost in a good story with great characters and this is no "lie"!

WOW! If you thought Deadly Silence was action packed, just wait until you sink your "teeth" into Lethal Lies! Rebecca Zanetti has created amazing characters in her Blood Brothers series, and then continues to add depth and complexity as it continues.

Lethal Lies literally picks up from where Zanetti left us in Deadly Silence, and the action doesn't stop. I love the growth we witness in both Heath and Anya, as they navigate the twists and turns of Copper Killer. I love how self aware Heath can be at times, and yet in total denial in others. Heath, Ryker and Denver are so very special, and Zanetti makes you personally investing in their lives.

I loved Anya from the beginning. She's an amazing mixture of her training in psychology and impulsiveness. She was easy to identify with, incredibility intelligent and smart in her professional life and so insecure and lacking self confidence in her personal relationships.

Zanetti keeps the story moving and the action tight. The entire book builds to the final act, and once it starts, there's no stopping or going back. You aren't going to want to put it down AND you won't see this one coming. I can't want to find out what happens next!

I am on the fence about this book. I did like the story and I am looking forward to seeing what happens next in Twisted Truths, I think this couple isn’t going to be my favorite one. I never really connected with them and I didn’t feel their chemistry at all.

Heath was a bit off for me and I really feel like he should have been more alpha then what he was. I needed to see it more than be told it. Anya was just so-so for me through out the whole book and I never really rooted for her.

I guess with this book I cared more about the story as a whole and following along with that then actually reading this for the characters and their romance. I do however look forward to the next installment.

As we learned from Deadly Silence (book 1) that Heath, Ryker and Denver are on the run from their past. A past that is slowly but surely catching up with them. In Lethal Lies (book 2) that past comes a knocking on their door.
We learn a lot more about the Blood Brother’s past life and the people after them. We also get a few glimpses of the Sin Brothers, which I hope means we will see them again really soon. I enjoyed Heath’s story. While his past is heartbreaking he is the sweetest of all three of the guys. What tough guy saves a little bird :). I enjoyed Anya also. She is tough and smart.
I am looking forward to Denver’s book. I do believe that his book is going to be a doozy. I hope that we will get the big show down between the Blood Brothers, the Sheriff and the Doc. Because the Sheriff and the Doc really need to go!!!

I've not read the Sin Brothers series, nor Deadly Sins. But Lethal Lies has certainly intrigued me enough that I am going to go back and read those books. Anya and Heath are thrown together due to tragic circumstances. In spite of a strictly business attitude, the attraction between combined with adrenaline and heightened emotions stirs up feelings within them that just cannot be ignored. But Heath has secrets in his past that has him constantly on the run. Pulling Anya into that mess is out of the question. Before long his past and the present merge to create a lethal situation and having Anya by his side is the only way to keep him sane enough to keep her safe.

I have been visiting the really messed up world of the Blood Brothers and the Sin Brothers (Matt Dean is still my favorite) for a while now. The mix of genetic engineering and harsh training from childhood made for a great background for the trials of the various men and their struggles to find and keep love and family.
In this episode, the FBI is seeking a serial killer who has set his goal as the capture of a woman who is involved with one of the Lost Boys. Lost Boys is what their creator calls them, because she kept them out of the camp where the rest of her creations grew up. They have the duel tasks of keeping their creator from finding them and stopping the serial killer.
There is another book in this series. I am waiting for it, most impatiently.

Thank you Ms Z for writing a second book as good ? as the first. I bought the audio version and it is wonderful to be able to listen or read. Action packed and fast moving.

I so enjoy the brothers relationship with each other. Happy that Heath and Anya got everything together. Crazy Daniel had to go because well he was bat sh*t crazy.

Doc Madison and Cobb are like loose canons. Her evil knows no bounds. This book has just the right amount of her and Cobbs crazy. So I'm awaiting for the next book because I know it's going to be as good as the first two.

Denver and Noni we're waiting.

The story was interesting and the suspense side was exciting but I did not like Heath and Anya together. Apart, the characters are good, but I didn't enjoy reading about their relationship, how it started, unfolded, and concluded.

3 - "Blood brothers for life." Stars.

Rebecca Zanetti returns to the Blood Brothers series, with book two; Lethal Lies giving us Heath Jones’ story.

He was more than aware of his trigger points, and she hit them all.

This story literally picked up where its predecessor Deadly Silence left off, and as with this series and its predecessor (Sin Brothers) there are always two stories playing out, the bigger one regarding the boys upbringing, and the people involved in that, and the individual brother meeting and then getting together with his woman, around a secondary plot. For me this book is the weakest I have ever read from this author in all aspects(and I have read everything).

"You and me, it was real, and I’m not letting you be another duckin’ failure in my life."

I will be honest, if this hadn’t been written by Rebecca, I would have likely DNF’d it around the halfway mark. Reason being absolutely nothing of note or real relevance had happened in the bigger picture or between Heath and Anya by that point. The focus on the serial killer and Heath’s mommy issues pretty much killed the extremely tenuous connection between them, and whereas I expect growly, alpha male versus confident, sassy female, both characters seemed to be lacking in all of those attributes in this one.

"I’ll do this with or without you."

The book in general felt too long, especially when you take into account that the bigger part of the story with Cobb and Madison has pretty much not moved at all by the end of it, what is a 400 page book for me could have easily been edited down to 250 pages without losing what was going on, but making the pace a little more digestible.

"It’s time to stop running. We’re ready."

Another gripe, was the lack of sexy-times, this is an author who excels at building the heat and tension between her couples, but nothing really happened until the second half, and I think due to the lack of any real chemistry between the pair, what did occur just felt a little pedestrian to me and almost disconnected to the rest of the story between them.

"Somethings coming and soon."

On the plus, the banter between the brothers seemed to be the only thing that was of the usual high standard, but the author needs to make sure that Denver’s book Twisted Truths, when it’s released in November finally ties up everything that has been going on since the beginning of the Sin Brothers series, and tie off everything that has been happening with all the characters that have hitched onto the wagon along the way.

I don’t think this is a series that has the legs to carry it on for as long as the authors Dark Protectors books (best series ever!). I am at that point where, as much as I love these characters (despite my disappointment this time) that they have all earned a well-earned rest, once Madison and Cobb have had their bottom's royally kicked of course!

I love this Blood Brothers spin off of the Sin Brothers series. As always, Rebecca Zanetti delivers an action-packed read, with a side of romance. This one had a twist at the end that I just didn't see coming. I recommend reading this series in order, though you don't have to--it can be a standalone. It will make the most sense if you've read the Sin Brothers series and Deadly Silence (Blood Brothers book 1) first. Can't wait for the final one to be released!

Anya is being tormented by a serial killer who contacts her after each kill. Terrified, she calls her sister who is in the FBI for help. When her sister is taken by the Copper Killer, Anya has to resort to desperate measures to get her back, including claiming Heath is her fiancé. Heath is a PI who has people after him too but can't say no to Anya. His past is catching up with him and now Anya is involved. Great romantic suspense in this action packed novel!

This is book 2 in the Blood Brothers series and it features Keith Jones and Anya Best. This very large, very alpha man is about as lost as they come. He needs her but doesn't yet realize it.

This book is CRAZY good! Awesome story line with fabulous characters. This story played like a movie in my head. Tons of action from beginning to end. This book grabbed a hold of me and wouldn't let go till the last page.

If like myself you followed this authors Sin Brothers series then this off shoot will be a must read for you. It's fun to see the differences between these genetically modified guys but it's also intruiging just how alike they can be. Suspense is the name of the game here with more than a healthy dose of romance but the author has cunningly woven her story in such a way that she keeps you guessing . Readers who've followed this storyline know full well that there's a reason why Heath and his brothers keep a low profile and it's a very real threat that's never too far away. Yet here we see Heath pulled out into the open and exposed by Anya, a woman determined to find a killer. The so called Copper Killer has hurt Anya in the most truly evil way and she's through being sweet and is ready to do whatever it takes to bring him down even if that means setting herself up as bait !
We actually have a plot within a plot here that twists with a red herring. You won't quite believe how the author has joined the dots as she smoothly blends the past of these characters with the harsh reality of a serial killer on the rampage. It makes for a slow burn story that kept me turning the pages just knowing that when the action came it would be shocking.
Characters? Hmm I did like Heath but he at times felt a little too quick to react and given his childhood there are reasons for his uber protective stance but I was conflicted as to whether he was quite as fleshed out as previous characters. I loved him with his brothers but his intense feelings towards Anya just didn't quite gel for me . Perhaps he just wasn't alpha enough for me ?
Anya seemed like a mixed personality at times. Intelligent, coping with being alone , vengeful and yet I wanted to shake her. If I'd just lost people close to me I'm not sure I'd be moving on so quickly. Her life has been turned upside down and yet she just casts googly eyes at Heath, challenging him at every opportunity. Yes he's big, bad and hot but I just didn't understand her attitude although I freely admit that grief can make people react in the strangest ways.
I'm guessing that you've realised this isn't my favourite book in the series but I can reassure you that the Copper Killer gets caught so the next book is about to go in a whole new direction . Those who work in the shadows are getting ever closer to recapturing their 'soldiers' and yes these total psychos actually enriched this story . So the romance wasn't my favourite but it's fun catching up with the myriad of characters that connect to bring these books to life. Denvers book is up next and I strongly suspect that it's going to be a battle royale and I say bring it on!
This book was provided for me with no requirement to review . I've voluntarily read it and I believe my thoughts and comments are a fair expression of my opinion

This is a series that I have enjoyed with both the Blood Brothers and the earlier Sin Brothers series. It has both suspense and romance combined to make an awesome and fascinating read. This is very fast paced and kept me up very late reading.
