This book is an interesting guide to clearing out one's soul and transforming one's spiritual life. It is well-paced and easy to read without a lot of unexplained jargon. It made good points to illustrate the benefits of the exercises expressed within, and presented a good variety of information that could be understood by anyone, regardless of spiritual background. I would recommend this book to those who are seeking to find their spirituality but don't want to join a traditional religion.

Heartfelt and Meaningful Memoir.

This book gives a deep look into the false attributes that we erroneously call truth. The author's articulation directs the reader to a causal reality where the mind's pontification is exposed as the hoax that it truly is. His words are without guile, nor pedantic, they're so spot on that it disarms even the cleverest of minds. I know a book's true value by it's lasting impression, and this book now lives within me.

This is an interesting, thought-provoking account of a spiritual journey and enlightenment. The author shares what his personal journey has been and then includes his teachings since then, allowing the reader to find some inspiration as well.

It is always a pleasure to walk alongside another and listen as they share their spiritual journey. This book is written in an authentic voice as the author shares his personal process of awakening to the ego and expanding into love. His stories are wonderful and each contains kernels of practical wisdom which he applied to himself and which others can apply easily. Richard is a flexible thinker and embraces a variety of thought systems, pulling out the best and making it relevant for himself and readers. I listened with an open heart and mind to the author while reading and found his book to be a personal spiritual memoir with lots of practical application.

Definitely a spiritual memoir as you read one mans journey. Love the quotes, and the martial arts techniques shared in this book. You can watch YouTube videos of the martial arts described in this book. Four stars. I'm enlightened!

This is a powerful book that will guide you toward spiritual transformation. The author does a really nice job of weaving his personal experience amidst teachings, and the combination makes for a compelling reading experience. As a reader, I was left with much to mull over in a way I really value. This book is a must read for those seeking spiritual transformation!

It seems like a good recap of the author's experiences and makes for an interesting read. Maybe his journey will resonate with you and you will gain insight. Like another book I reviewed, a big point to take away is to know what is important to you, what you value, and constantly look at your life to make sure the life you live is in alignment with what is important.

The book is half memoir and half instructional.
The first half is the author's memoir which include a number of exceptional stories about the author's spiritual experiences. The stories are candid and personal and honest about the author's spiritual growth resulting from these experiences. It's an excellent, enjoyable read.
The second half of the book is instructional, providing advice for developing oneself through observational meditation. I think even if you're already experienced with meditation technique you'll find new insights in the author's approach (at least I certainly did). More generally, this part of the book also explains a path (thus the book's title) to living a better, more joyous life.

Reading this book will make you open your eyes to how you interact with all the things in your life. With how you talk, act and think - it will all change once you start to feel your consciousness more and more. Great read and I would recommend to anyone seeking guidance and research!

The Unbound Soul is not an easy read but has a lot of great advice if you are searching for enlightenment. It takes you on a journey through the authors own enlightenment journey and teaches you important steps to take on yours. If you are not ready to hear about reincarnation and the afterlife then this book is not for you. If your ready to address the things that will make you a better version of yourself, then this is your book. Read with an open mind and a kind heart!

As one who has suffered from depression and - like all of us - my share of setbacks, I found this a VERY practical guide while following his life adventures. This is an important book and a time most needed - handling the ebbs and flows and the complexities our society and life throws at us. The author - in my opinion - provides great insights into how to go with the flow, remain calm, make great decisions from a peaceful center - which in turn help us create a much better life for ourselves. I hope Mr. Haight continues with his writings - he is a much needed voice in our world right now. Thanks for writing and peace to you all!

Great read. He really makes you consider whether you are dominated by your mind and mental structures or tuned into something purer, beyond thought. I will reread this for sure in the future. Probably multiple times.

I really did not like this book. It seemed a lot of ramblings for about half of the book, the author's journey for life and then what he thought about getting close to your Isness. Very new agey - which is why I thought I would like it - but I really did not.

I didn't like the biography part of the book. It felt plotless and and was hard to follow. The rest of the book was a lot better. I liked the writing style. It was better for conveying the message he wanted to send.

Richard offers the reader an understanding of meditation through personal reflection and life experience. Rather than based upon a particular system of meditation, it seems to have emerged holistically and uncontrived. The exercises described are helpful in furthering meditative practice within daily living, not just in an isolated timeframe. This is a book I will return to read at intervals along my own journey.

This book was hard to read. The author seemed to contradict himself by saying we should not come to conclusions, but the whole book was about his conclusions. He got quite specific telling how much water to drink when thirsty.

I liked learning about mindful meditation which was broken down well, but this was a small portion of the whole.

This book has an interesting premise. I enjoyed reading the parts about the author's travels and life adventures, but the repetitiveness of how to live our lives was a bit dull to me. The writing style was odd and too wordy. I would have enjoyed it more if it had been written more in a memoir style rather than a bunch of accounts of visions and enlightening moments.

I like this book especially because the author told stories from his own experience.
I got the opportunity to read this book. I don't think this is an accident. Maybe I am attracted to spiritual topics.
If you are curious about this book, maybe you are attracted to this topics as well.
I'd like to share my thoughts after reading this one. I won't say too much as I don't want to spoil your curiosity.

In search of personal quest, the author went through various events. I am sure he got this knowledge through his personal journey.
When it comes to meditation,in my opinion physical health is the key. If you were physically ill, you would be constantly distracted by the pain. Of course, one can eventually overcome this but one would take extra steps to reach the goal of meditation. In this regard, martial arts should be a perfect companion of practicing meditation.

If you are new to self-development, or spiritual topics book, you might be perplexed by some ideas from this book. But whether you can agree with him or not, it's worth reading it because it's from the author's real experiences. If you are open to any possibilites, I am sure you will have something out of this book.

Book follows most taoist thoughts. Though the author is obviously not trying to do so. If you have interest in taoist thoughts it is easier to follow then the classics. You can't go wrong with this read.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and applying the teachings to my life. It is fascinating and in depth. This book is part autobiography and part spiritual guide. Approach it with an open mind! It is worth a read whether you consider yourself spiritual or not!

I was not a huge fan of this book. The personal stories that the author shared were very difficult to believe. There was some contradictory and dangerous advice on drug use. The writing style was also very repetitive, which made it difficult to get through.

This is a VERY interesting book on spiritual cosmology. Haight puts forward some unique concepts--some were new to me, others quite familiar. He chronicles his journey towards his truth in a way that engaged me completely.

This book is easy to read, but so deep, you may need to take a few breaks! I was impressed with the ease of turning the pages, and the subtle way the concepts layered up. It was not at all what I was expecting! In a good way! I don't believe I will use the techniques, but for those interested, it's a fantastic guide.

While I am often wary of books such as this, I actually related quite a bit to Haight's spiritual journey and have gone through similar experiences myself. This gave me a bit of comfort personally. I found the concepts Haight spoke of completely engaging and interesting, whether I accepted them myself or not, they are written in a way that makes one challenge their own concepts and ideas, which I appreciated.

The intro was hatlrd for me to get past as i felt the author was unnecessarily using too many large words and there eas some redundancy. That being said there is a spirtual awakening to be sought from this book if your looking. Great for those who enjoy this genre specifically.

"The Unbound Soul" by Richard Haight is an exceptional book written for the Spiritual seeker. Through his world-wide experiences in self-awareness, Richard gives us advice on meditation, unconditional love, Isness and caring for the mind and body. I give it the full 5 stars. He taught me some truths that go beyond most Spiritual-based books and I cannot wait to read his other books.

This book takes us on another level of experience beyond the limits of identification. Beyond the labels and perceived assumptions of who we are. Its helped me go beyond what some might call the 4th dimension to the 5th. words cannot Express this process and I'm grateful that book can put it such words to help me leap into the consciousness of love.

Ugh. Author is a psycho. Or rather a paranoid schizophrenic I tried to get past chapter two. I can’t. I won’t even donate this drivel to the free library. I can’t. In good conscience. The writing is THAT BAD. literally threw this in the garbage.

One of the best book I've read about spiritual awakening. Sincere and comes from the heart, from real unconditional love and understanding.
I highly recommend it to anyone who really wants to understand more about the process of awakening.

What more can I say? If you're drawn to it, read it. If you get bogged down, put it down. You'll pick it back up when you're ready. It is transformative and very informative to read anything by Richard Haigt.
