I am sorry but the grammatical errors were hard to ignore. Whoever did the editing needs to be fired and i want a refund. I couldn't enjoy or finish the first book because I found myself correcting the mistakes while reading. I am not sure if the series is any good. I'm annoyed that I even paid for this.

Title should have been Paranormal Bore Stories. Four books? Nah, more like four paragraphs. Almost non-existent plot lines. stories made no sense. There was NO romance. Spelling and grammar errors. Some sentences did not even make sense. Price for these four "books" should have been no more than a penny and even at that price your are not going to get your money's worth. I would give you a synopsis of what I just read but they are so forgettable that I cannot remember any of them. Don't waste your time or money.

really? this is supposed to be a book for adults? night writes like a fifteen year old boy. total waste of my money and the time i wasted on it between other reads.josiah is supposed to acquire all these super powers as a vampire and yet he is not a true vamp but his girlfriend is .yet she is human enough to become pregnant.i have read many paranormal stories some good some bad but this is the worst.flying from california to alaska and back [or was it washington?] in one night just to clear his brain. what brain? the next thing you know he is a messiah but wait! it is really his unborn children.he is so smart and brave that he gets trapped by an old con man into fighting gladiator bouts with his werewolf buddy.this should have been a graphic novel with a team who could keep it together.this should be marketed as male teen adventure fantasy.
Biting Bad (Chicagoland Vampires) :: Hard Bitten (Chicagoland Vampires Book 4) :: Lucky Break (Chicagoland Vampires) :: Blackout (Crossbreed Series Book 5) :: Bloodfire (Blood Destiny Book 1)

Did anyone actually read these books before they were published for kindle? Stories have inane plots and numerous grammatical and spelling errors. I don't think I have ever before seen a published book which was so poorly written. Shame on J.R. Rain for endorsing this series.

I think the concept for the series is alright but the writing is just atrocious. I have no idea how this was published as is. The story line is chunky with lots of holes. The love story is weak at best. One minute he's just met Lena and the next he's in love. Really? There's no buildup to those feelings. As a reader I'm used to being guided into the development of love for another character. This writer definitely needs a better editor and to lighten up on the fight scenes, work on scene development. The ego for the character Josiah is ridiculous as well. I can't be too disappointed though because I only paid $2.99 for the 5 book series. I guess I know why now!

This series was so wonderful! They are among my absolute favorite books. The compassionate & intelligent characters, witty dialogue & the excitement of the story are why I love it so much. It's very intelligent, there's humor throughout, twists & turns in the plot. It's so intense & wonderfully complex.
Personally, I preferred the sexual tension between Yari & Josiah rather than with him & the love of his life... but that's just me. I just relate more to Yari's character. She's so interesting & also complex & surprising. I loved the strength of the bond between Tommy & Josiah. They way the friends cared about & supported each other was great. Even the secondary characters were quite interesting. I should also mention Atticai. He was fascinating to me... flawed but so deep.
OK, the books do need editing. However, I didn't have ANY trouble figuring out what the author meant to say. I think it's very petty & ridiculous for people to focus on trivial grammatical errors as a basis to give a talented & creative author negative reviews. Honestly, did you really EVER have trouble figuring out what he meant? I didn't.
I highly recommend this series. It was a fast (too fast), easy read that was very different than other paranormal books. It was complex, intelligent & it had so much heart. It also had some great laughs throughout. Thanks so much, H.T. for this series & please keep them coming.

$2.99 for a boxed set of romantic/vampire/suspense? Sign me up! I am a voracious fiction reader and have been known to finish an entire novel in one evening.
After reading the reviews, I wasn't expecting anything great, and it's not great. It's acceptable, even fun, providing you can get past the atrocious, juvenile errors/lack of editing. Don't get me wrong--I can definitely suspend my disbelief. With these books, though, I had to really work to suppress the inner english-teacher ghosts that might otherwise interfere with enjoying a good pulp read. I'm sure the author worked hard on these books, and I respect that effort so I generally find it hard to write bad reviews.
That being said, at least once a chapter I had to put down the kindle, unroll my eyes, and question whether I REALLY wanted to spend minutes of my life with these books whether or not they were already paid for. I actually didn't finish all the books in the set, but I did come close. The writing really IS quite juvenile. At first I thought the author was trying to channel juvenile, uneducated characters. For instance, when one of the main characters "sucker punched" one of the bad guys "real good." But when someone grew tired of their words falling "on death ears," or when a character was about to "knot off" to sleep, I had to question whether my time was really well spent. In the end, I put them down an ordered something else, which turned out to be much more to my taste. (For instance, one author I am a fan of is Laurel K. Hamilton, and I found J.R. Rain to be in line with some of her novels.)
If you like watching "Real World" or "Jersey Shore" then you'll probably enjoy these just fine. I DO NOT like those shows, and I did not enjoy these books for some of the same reasons I do not like those shows. If you have ever seen anything with Stephen Fry or enjoyed anything relating to Sherlock Holmes or a PBS/Nova program or Doctor Who, as I frequently do, you're better off looking elsewhere for your guilty-pleasure pulp reading.

Thoroughly enjoyed the series BUT...the prequel included in this series (last book in this series) isn't the only prequel. The next isn't due out until March 2012 (previously announced as Dec 2011) and there will probably be more to follow (I'm guessing). At any rate, I guess I would have liked to read all the prequel's first but such is life and now I have to wait for prequel #2 if I haven't lost interest by then.
I must say that the editing in these books is lacking (just as others have mentioned) but I got through it because the story itself was worth it. The difference between this Vampire series is the abundance of humor throughout that somehow really fits. I was laughing out loud often yet still on the edge of my seat with the Vampire saga.

WARNING: this series is highly addictive!
I only wish I could give this 10 stars!!! Great books! I love the characters. There are great relationships, fascinating stories...wow! Night has a unique take on the paranormal. I mean, every paranormal author seems to have some of their own "rules" for immortals (werewolves & vampires...). Night is no different. But I like his style & HIS immortals! There is humor & intelligence, with deep emotions throughout! Give it a try, you will like it!

First let me say, I love this author. I came across him several months ago. I was so excited to find a great author who offers Kindle books for a great price!! This series has everything a vampire, underworld, loving reader wants. Lol. I won't spill on what is inside the books.. You'll have to find out for yourself! But you won't be sorry. And he saved the best for last. The last book in the series is my favorite, and I can't wait for more!! Also, check out his other books. Great reads!!!

It is also filled with love stories, romance, and drama with lots of surprises that you will like. I love all the charactors, and how they are well developed throughout this series. I look forward to reading many more books from H.T. Night. Can't wait for One Love which is book 5 in this series coming soon!!

I admit that I'm a reader likes to be hooked within the first couple of chapters. I was loaned the first three books in the series so I decided to stick with it. I'm glad I did. The story picked up tremendously and really captured me by the second book. I managed to read all three books in less than a day, unable to put them down. I will definitely be looking for the rest of this series because I must know what happens.

I love H.T Night's writing! This collection is one of my favorites! I love the characters, especially Josiah and Tommy. With each book you learn more and more about the world these two best friends have been thrown into and how it tests them, not only as friends, but as rivals. I love how Josiah has really come into himself in the latest book. I look forward to more!!

H.T. has created a fantastic series of vampire novels. He brings a refreshing new approach to the supernatural world. I loved Josiah and Lena. Tommy is quite the character. I enjoyed the roller coaster ride as Josiah and Tommy discover more about themselves and their enemies. I would recommend this box set to everyone who loves romance and of course vampires.

Having read the Kindle edition I have this to say...
I've read all but the 5th book and while I reflectively enjoyed them; but like the other readers who gave it low reviews I did not appreciate the horrid editing or lack there of.
First off ; Author please go here - [...] and should the URL not publish properly do a g00gle search with - How to use you're and your. OMG!!! Also, do a google search for the topic of how to use quotation marks when chacters speak; I continually had to go back and find out that what was supposedly said was to have been a thought and not something that was actually said by the character.
Proof read your work, get somebody else to proof read it.
And to make matters worse, in book four or maybe three the author incorrectly spells one of the character's name wrong! Not once, not twice, but perhaps three times and all on the same bloody page or pretty near to it.
And and it gets worse I was reading another book by the author; I think it was Werewolf Lover, and just about any word that had 'tom' in it had be camel cased with a capital T. If this is the sort of product that the store lets loose on its site then they need to take a more proactive role to ensure a quality product because it seems that the author or their editors are horrid in checking things.

Reviews of HT Nights books are what drew me to him. Now that I've read them for myself I understand what everyone is talking about. This series is one of my favorites of his and I can't wait to see if he writes more in the lives of these characters. I laughed and cried while reading these books. Excited to see what HT comes up with next! Joshia is always entertaining!! <3

I have always been a fan of any book having to do with vampires, werewolves, or any other sort of 'paranormal' aspect to it. This series gives yet another spin on the relationship between vampires and werewolves in a modern day, young adult setting. I bought this set at a time when I was in between books being published by a couple of my favorite authors in this genre and I saw a recommendation for this box set by another author whose books I have thoroughly enjoyed. I was not disappointed with any of these books and cannot wait to read more down the road.

The Vampire Love Story Series is an edge-of-your-seat thriller. I can't imagine a better summer read than this series. You can totally tell that H.T. Night invested a ton of time and passion when writing this series. Nothing is left out! I absolutely love Josiah! Plus, you can't beat the price for hours of endless love stories! Keep the stories coming Night!

i bought these books because they were cheap. i keep reading them because i never give up on books. but these may be an exception. i feel like i'm reading a high school student's journal. there are lots of side stories that don't strengthen the characters or the plot. the hero is wishy washy. he 'knows what he has to do' one moment & the next he just wants to whine about how he doesn't know what to do. it's pretty much four books about this guy trying to make a decision and act on it already. it's an okay story that's poorly written.

The books are narrated in first person by the lead character who has the depth and reasoning skills of a teaspoon. The charaters are dumb and predicatable along with the plot. I would guess the author has not graduated high school yet. With experience, proper education and lots of practice, the author has the potential of becoming a decent writter. He or she does have a great imagination and this series could have been so much more.
