Sadie and Ashton were so hot together! When he agreed to experiment with her and help her explore her sexual nature, Ashton couldn't be more ready to lend a hand. I loved how careful he was with her, yet he wasn't afraid to help Sadie push past her boundaries. Awesome fun read, with some good twists to keep everything off-kilter.

After a relationship breakup, Sadie has an evening drinking, then she goes down on her best friend's brother. Ashton offers to teach her what men like. Sadie takes Ashton up on is offer and they start to develop a relationship. But both of them have pasts that are going to come back to haunt them.

An enjoyable read.

I shouldn't be surprised with the degree o hotness of this book because the blurb should have clued me in, but holy hotness, there should be a warning on this one!!! From the first chapter until the very last, you'll never want for "action"! So, turn your A/Cs into high, and get ready for the lesson of your life!

Swallow Me Whole by Gemma James is a sizzling and sexy friends-to-lovers romance story. There's well developed characters, drama, some angst, humor, off-the-charts chemistry, and panty melting sex scenes.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Dirty, steamy, hot, bothered, etc... all the words to describe this book. Phew... Ashton and Sadie are the friendship you have and question being more because you don’t won’t to lose that. Lines get blurred and pushed but will it be for better or worse. Such a hot read!

There are more than a few characters in this book needing their repulsive asses kicked. I hate them! Her father, especially. He is a first rate douche-canoe!
The lovable ones are SOO lovable & made this a hard-to-put-down book for me. It grabbed me on page one & didn’t let go!

This was soooo far out of Gemma James' usual forte. Usually her books are dark and gritty. This one, not so much. Regardless I loved it. I have been a fan of Ms. James for years and I love seeing her writing blossom. All I can say is You Go Girl!

I absolutely loved Ashton and Sadie. I love the sweet mixed in with the dark, the innocent mixed with the experienced. They both had personalities that brought something special, in their own ways to the story.

Not your typical friends to lovers.

Sadie walks in on her boyfriend and his assistant. While she doesn't have the hurt she thought she would have, she does get a little drunk and do something that turns her world upside down. Ashton has been her friend for years and while he has long had a thing for her, he felt that she was too innocent for him.

Sadie feels younger than she really is. She is innocent and lets her family walk all over her. She has always done as they ask until she can't take it anymore. Not only does she get some lessons in the bedroom but also some lessons in her real life. Ashton's life has a bit of drama too. He has never been one for a lonely bed and even though he has always been clear as to what he wants, some try to get more from him.

This did not feel like your typical friends to lovers because of the background drama. It was also super sexy, even when they weren't doing anything more than talking. I didn't feel as connected with our two main characters as I wanted to, but I feel like it was a case of "it's me, not the book." I have also read this author a few times before and I guess I was expected something a little darker. This book was not dark, it was erotic and had a lighter feel than her other books. It was a solid contemporary; some feels, some drama, and two people trying to figure out their own lives while trying to fit each other into it. Sadie likes to take things slow and Ashton goes in full force so, them trying to meet in the middle turns into a struggle and adds to the drama. I did like this book and look forward to what comes next for this author.

Sadie and Ashton have been friends since childhood. Their friendship remains strong and neither has ever tested the boundaries of more even though both have thought about it. After Sadie’s boyfriend cheats on her, she begins to question her own sexuality and what it says about her that she has never been able to let go. Now she’s taking lessons from her best friend and things are getting pretty hot as well as dicey where their relationship is concerned.

I really enjoyed this read. It’s a scorching hot erotica with lovely character growth for both Sadie and Ash. There is a good bit of other woman drama and the hero had an extensive background of sex with other women. But once Sadie opens the door for Ash to step through, he’s not letting her close it again. I love when the right woman can turn a manwhore around and Ashton is completely it where Sadie is concerned.

This is a great friends to lovers story with secondary characters that either helped move the storyline or supported the hero and heroine. The villain of the story was a real piece of work and their presence helped to ratchet the angst level to high. This is a nice paced read that has a lot of sex, great humor, wonderful character development and a perfect epilogue.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Sadie, Amanda and Ash are best of friends since they were in first or second grade. They have been there for each other in the best and worst of time. Amanda and Ash are twins. They haven't had it that easy Sadie comes from money but she never has acted like it. Sadie's father is over bearing. Sadie is so sweet, she doesn't stand up for herself. I think we can all related to Sadie, Amanda and Ashes friendship. Things change when Sadie goes to take her boyfriend a surprise dinner for his birthday. When she arrives she cant believe what she is hearing, and when she looks she is just frozen in place. She stays looking until she couldn't look anymore. She walks out as quietly as possible so he wouldn't notice she was there. Sadie couldn't believe that he would cheat on her. We all know how this feels at one point in time we have been cheated on. It hurts no matter how long we have been together. Sadie's life took a change and she went with it. Just in a different way. Sadie has amazing friends that help her through this. I never thought this story would go the way it went and I loved every minute of it and I hope there is a part two. Thank you United Indie Book Blog for allowing me to read this book, it was amazing.

Swallow Me Whole by Gemma James
Sadie & Ashton
5 Stars

What an endearing and complex tale. Sometimes when you think you know where a stories going, you’re blindsided by a plot twist. So sit down, buckle up, and enjoy the ride!

Sadie is caught up trying to please all the men in her life when she should be focusing on herself. She has a cheating boyfriend, a domineering father, and a bestie who tries to push her to be her best and make decisions that aren’t necessarily for “her.”

Ashton is known to be the town “manwhore,” and doesn’t even want to think about commitment. Until an incident with Sadie leaves him with his mouth hanging open, his pants undone, and his mind and other things blown!

The supporting character cast is small but I just have to say something about Sadie’s father. This guy needs a high five in the face with a chair. Jeeze man… family first!

This is a quick read, a standalone… I know I know.. Gemma James (The Queen of Cliffys) wrote a standalone… well, she did and it was fantastic. The pacing is fast, the dialogue flowed, and the characters are comical and endearing. Loved it!

Swallow Me Whole by Gemma James. This was a first time read for me by author Gemma James. Swallow Me Whole is a friends-to-lovers standalone romance, and will suck you in from start to finish. This story was definitely enjoyable and absolutely had its sweet moments. There’s not a whole lot of drama in this one but enough to have you engaged. Swallow Me Whole is about the story of Sadie, the virgin, and Ashton the manwhore who have known each other since they were kids. They both have had feeling for one another without letting the other know.  When Sadie decides to give Ashton a drunken blow job the two will never be the same. These two slowly start to sizzle and what we end up getting are some hot and steamy moments between the two of them.I absolutely loved Ashton. He was cocky yet cheeky at the same time. It was easy to see the appeal he had and I think any woman would easily fall for his charm. He’s also a sweetheart and you can tell his heart is in the right place. Should they be doing this and, will it hurt their friendship? Only time will tell. This is a great summer time read loved it.

Sadie’s family sucks. Her father is more worried about his job life than what his daughter actually wants. Her mother just seems like she goes with the flow of her husband. She really has her best friend Mandy and her brother Ashton as her family. She had a boyfriend until she found him with his assistant.
She gets drunk and makes it known she wants Ashton. Now that his eyes have been opened by his best friend being friends is not enough ..

Ash and Sadie or Sawyer as he calls her are great together. He likes to be the one in charge and she loves it. She may not be able to stand up for herself with her family but she has no problems with doing it with Ash. I really enjoyed their back and forth.

Throw in a crazy girl who wants Ash and will do anything necessary to keep him. A meddling father who just wants what best for him. You’re in for a ride.

I gave this book a 3 Star review because I felt like it was all really fast. I know they have been friends forever but I just left like it all happened really quickly.

Ash, Mandy, and Sadie have been best friends for years. Sadie can talk to Ash about things that she isn't comfortable sharing with Mandy. Sadie decides that Ash will be the perfect person to teach her how to please a guy. Whatever can go wrong with this picture?

Against his better judgment, and growing feelings, Ash decides that he will help Sadie out. What isn't known is how long this deal will last and if their friendship will survive.

The characters are well written, each with their own quirks. The scenes between Ash and Sadie are hot and steamy. The friendship between all three of them is so sweet and faces the changes. Sometimes the best start to a romantic relationship is a strong friendship.

This book is enjoyable read. It is quirky, sweet and hot. The character feel human and are relatable. I enjoy this book and it is perfect for a lazy day outdoors or rainy day inside. I am looking forward to reading more from Gemma.

I received an ARC for honest review.

This story was quite a departure from her dark romance, which I happily devoured. The storyline was sensational, and had me from the start. I love friends to lovers stories. Sawyer and Ashton are very engaging characters. Their story is full of steam, of course. But it also has a fair bit of humor thrown in that had me laughing out loud a few times. I loved the "secret" aspect of the story. I am always on the edge of my seat waiting for the "AHA" moment. That is my favorite moment in these stories. That moment when both characters get their heads on straight and figure it out. Their moment was full of all the feels. Every one will love this book.

Sadie and Ash wow!! I loved them. Sadie an insecure woman always doing what other people wanted from her. And Ash who was determined to help her stand up for herself. And in helping her he feels that this is his chance to have the girl he's always wanted but thought he couldn't have. I was so proud of Sadie for standing up for herself even though it wasn't a quick or painless process. And I understood why she thought she couldn't look at Ash that way. Watching het come into herself and her confidence was very uplifting. And I loved that even though it frustrated Ash he stuck right there. This book had its funny moments also. Overall this book was a good read.

A sweet intoxicating read that I couldn't get enough of! An amazing storyline that grabs hold of you keeping you hostage burning through the pages from beginning to end making it impossible to put down! Sinfully hot lip-biting panty melting chemistry that will keep you nice and uncomfortable on the edge of your seat with anticipation for more! An absolute electrical shock to your senses! Raw, primal, enjoyable, intense, emotionally engrossing, fun, witty and unbelievably entertaining! A hot as heck very well executed storyline that is worth more than the 5 STARS allowed! An amazing must read!?????I Loved It!

Loved all the characters. Was interesting how his sister/her best friend handled it all. It doesn't usually turn out that way. Loved the crazy storyline with Corrinne. My only complaint is where and when she finally loses her virginity, to me, it took away how special that act/moment should have been. I know they have a kinky side to them but it just didn't fit with the loving respectable side of their relationship. It didn't ruin the story just wish it was done differently and more romantically.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It kept my attention and had some pretty hot scenes thrown in there too!

Sadie (Sawyer), and her twin friends, Mandy and Ashton have been best friends forever. Even Sadie's over-bearing father could break their friendship.
When Sadie found her boyfriend in a compromising position with his assistant, she feels it is time to stop holding back and to learn how to please a man and what better teacher than her man-whore, best friend, Ashton. But, there must be rules to protect them both.
This book has lots of twist and turns that will have you mad and rejoicing all at once. You may need a cold shower or two before the book is over.
I highly recommend this book to all romance lovers.

This is a sweet, sexy, predictable tale of life long friends who have repressed their attractions for each other in the name of friendship until one drunken night that changes everything.
First there's unbridled passion, then denial, advoidance, hiccups, acceptance and finally they get their HEA.
Enjoyable read.
And a BIG Thank you to Gemma and her team for putting forth a quality product (I didn't catch one error, typo, mistake in the whole book) and that is so rare these days.
Also, the cover Rocks!
Happy Reading:)

I loved this friends to lovers romance! Sadie and Ashton are sooo adorable. They’ve had feelings for each other since forever but have never acted on it. Ashton is a dominant male who has slept with half the town but is a good friend. Sadie found out her ex is a cheating jerk and changed her friendship with Ashton when she crawled under the table in a bar one night. Ash and Sadie agree on having a no strings attached relationship with no kissing, sex or falling in love....but end up falling for each other along the way! I loved it! I can’t wait to read more by Gemma!

Swallow Me Whole
By Gemma James

I am voluntarily reviewing this ARC.

This book had me right from the start. Betrayal, so hurtful, my heart was pounding and sad. Followed by hotness times a thousand, and that was the first few pages.
Swallow me Whole is about the love that builds between a girl and her best friends’ brother. Their attraction and then love, is beautiful. I love that there is total loyalty between these two. I could not put this book down. I missed precious sleep but it was worth it. This book should be next on your to be read list!! I loved it!

Sadie is the girl next door kinda girl. Always doing what her father wants. Until she goes to surprise her boyfriend, finds him cheating on her.

Ash has been friends with Sadie since grade school. His twin sister is her best friend. Ash has always had feelings for her.

Sadie and Ash make a deal to teach her how to things to a guy. So doesn't seem inexperienced. Ash's plan is to understand that he wants her, even if she is to good for him.

A sweet story and not what I would expect from James. Never the less I was happy with the book.

This is a beautifully written friends to lovers story that pulls you in from the start. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the chips to fall because let’s face it there is always that one character that makes you sick when they enter the scene. I loved the chemistry that Sadie and Ash shared. This is the first book I have read of Gemma’s and it definitely won’t be my last. I can’t wait to read Trashy Foreplay but because it ends in a cliff hanger and it’s a 3 book series I’ll have to wait until the 3rd book is released.

Who doesn’t love a great friends-to-lovers story and Gemma James sure doesn’t disappoint with SWALLOW ME WHOLE.
You will fall head over heels in love with Ashton.
He is THE perfect boyfriend.
He’s sweet, sexy, protective, dominant and he owns his feelings for Sadie right from the beginning.
He doesn’t skirt around what he feels for her and he never gives up despite all of the obstacles that come his way.
The chemistry between Ashton and Sadie was off the charts HOT!!!!
This is a superb read!!!

“A dirty friends to lovers, 5 stars”

Sadie is the ultimate good girl. She’s sweet and pure and everything you really hope your daughter to be as a parent. But like most good girls she doesn’t want to be good, she wants to be bad. Only problem is she can’t get out of her head long enough to do what she wants to do. Sadie is always second guessing herself and letting some of those closest to her walk all over her and telling her that she can’t make up her mind. Except for Ashton and Mandy. They have always been in her corner, but what happens if Ash’s place in her life shifts? Will she be able to deal with the changes?
Ashton has always deeply cared for Sadie but never thought about going after her. She’s too innocent and he doesn’t want to get her dirty with his hands. But what if being dirty is what Sadie craves? When Sadie comes onto him he decides to make his play. Will he be able to convince Sadie the reason it never worked out with anyone else is because they weren’t him?
Ugh, I loved these two. they were on fire. They were like two flames who clashed together and just kept getting bigger and hotter as the story wore on. Even with all the heat there was a solid love behind these two from start to finish, it just grew. I love how Mandy (who is Ash’s sister) was behind them a 100%. My favorite thing about this story is even though Ash wouldn’t be able to give Sadie the life she grew up with (financially) she didn’t care. She just wanted him, and I loved it. Because in the end love is enough. I can totally see myself rereading this sometime.

What happens when you have been friends forever and you've shelved any romantic feelings because the friend zone is in place? It happens more often than people want to admit. Let's face it, the last F in BFF doesn't stand for a dirty word. Relationships are hard work with messy feelings and friends are there to help us clean up and listen to everything we have to endure. So in Swallow Me Whole the underlying theme of friends to lovers is never far from either characters mind. Is it really worth risking years of friendship to potentially cross that line? Once that line is breached you really can't go back.

Sadie and Ashton have been friends since grade school, along with Ashton's twin sister Mandy. When Sadie finds her boyfriend cheating on her, in a rash decision, Sadie makes a move on her long time friend Ashton. Opening "Pandora's Box" neither of them are willing to close the lid, yet Sadie is wise enough to include a few rules, hoping that her heart doesn't get too invested.

Since Sadie has been friends with Ashton for so long, she knows he's something of a player and she doesn't want to be another girl in his long line of itches to scratch.

Once Sadie makes her intentions known to Ashton, it's full throttle for him. He's been in love with her for a long time. He's willing to play by her rules, for now, but he has his own game plan to win her over and eventually make her his.

Amount of BDSM/Fetish 1 / 5

Overall: 4 / 5

I just love Gemma James! I started Swallow Me Whole without knowing much about the story. Seeing the cover and the name of the book was enough to know this would be another fabulous one. I have read many of Ms. James’ darker and erotic romances, and this story was more on the softer side for her. The story did contain spanking, hair pulling, and handcuffs, although it was milder BDSM read.

In this story, Sadie’s family is well off, and her father is very commanding. Even though Sadie is in her twenties, he expects her to follow all of his rules, which includes who she can date. Unfortunately, Sadie is a pushover and unable to stand up to her dad.

Sadie also has difficulty being intimate, which I assume has to do with her father issues. Wanting to learn, she asked her best friend’s twin brother Ashton. Many of the sex scenes were pretty hot, even though there was no kissing or sex while Ash was teaching her. The story also had some twists, which made the story suspenseful.

I enjoyed the story although I did miss the extra spice that usually is in Ms. James’ stories.
