This story fell flat for me. I really enjoyed the first book and was looking forward to this one. Frankly, I feel like I had to wait too long for this book in the first place. I also was put off by the scenes with the prince and the heroine. The scenes were just too long, sick and frankly seemed unrealistic. I mean honestly if the prince was trying to get her closer to him that was the WRONG way to go about it. The only shining light in the book for me was Tink. I love, adore and am so in like with him. The love story between the heroine and the hero fell flat for me as well. It just wasn't strong for me until the last scene they are together at the end of the book, I felt some chemistry there. All in all I will probably read the next book just to see what is going on.

***While this review doesn’t contain spoilers for Torn, I do NOT recommend reading if you haven’t read Wicked. This is such a hard review to write because, as much as I want to gush and exclaim over the various happenings in the book, I don't want to give anything important away, so apologies in advance for the vagueness. ***
When I started Torn, I was fresh off a re-read of Wicked, still reeling (for the second time) from the knowledge bomb dropped at the book's end. Questions swirled through my mind: Did that just happen? OMG, that just happened! What does this mean for Ivy? I mean, I know what it means, but what does it mean??? Luckily, this time around, I got to delve right into the next chapter in Jennifer L. Armentrout’s Wicked trilogy, and boy is it a page turner! In a word, this book is intense. The tone of Torn is undoubtedly darker than that of Wicked, with higher stakes and even more twists and turns in store for our heroine, Ivy Morgan, and company.
Torn picks up right where Wicked left off, dropping readers smack in the middle of Ivy's newfound discovery that she is, in fact, the halfling that Ren has been searching for. As if that mind-blowing bit of information weren’t enough of a shock, the Order now has to deal with the fact that the prince and his knights have come through the gate. Ivy is understandably scared of what the future holds but she's not the type of girl to wallow in self-pity. She's tough. She’s pragmatic. She's a survivor. It’s this strength of character from which Ivy has to draw when she’s tested emotionally, physically, and psychologically over the course of the narrative.
Before starting Torn, I had no author of which direction the author would steer the narrative and, even while reading, I couldn't begin to predict the next move. That's exactly what I love about the story, though. Jennifer L. Arementrout's take on Fae mythology is so unique and inventive that the narrative constantly bombards you with new (and familiar) otherworldly creatures, new revelations from unexpected sources, and non-stop, no-holds-barred action. Torn is the type of book that will keep you on your toes and leave you shouting at your kindle. Between Ivy, Ren, Tink, the Order, and the fae, there's so much that happens in this book, yet there's still so much more to come, and I can't wait to see how it all comes to a head with Brave.

Readers return to the dangerous, and fae-ridden French Quarter in the much-anticipated follow-up to Jennifer L. Armentrout's 2014 release, Wicked. Where Ivy Morgan, Order member and Fae hunter, has discovered a life-changing truth that could not only tear apart her own world, but the world around her as well...
Torn begins mere seconds after Wicked closes, throwing the reader right back into the tumultuous mental state that our heroine understandably finds herself in. With such a large time gap between books one and two, it did take me a while to find my bearings again in the story, as there was no recapping. But once I found my footing, JLA's wickedly talented writing swept me away!
Everyone seems to be hiding secrets in Ivy's little tight-knit group, and she is no exception. With her growing feelings for a certain handsome, green-eyed Elite member, Ivy struggles keeping her own secret to herself. Does she confide in Ren and risk him turning away from her? Or worse, turning her in to the Order? With a nefarious fae Prince breathing down her neck, everything is at stake for Ivy! Thankfully there is some much-needed tension breaking humor sprinkled throughout thanks to our resident brownie. The witty and sardonic banter between Ivy and Twink, and then Ren and Twink made for some laugh-out-loud moments. Ren and Ivy get equal amounts of romance in between all of the action and mystery, connecting you further with this bad-ass, fae-fighting couple.
The last half of Torn absolutely gutted me, my heart ached for Ivy and all that she was put through. But she is a strong, resilient character who perseveres over adversity again and again. And while I wanted to shake her several times during the story (Because it shouldn't have taken her that long to figure it out!!!) I couldn't love her character more. I am beyond invested in each of these unforgettable and engaging characters, and I can't wait to read the conclusion to Ivy and Ren's story, though I know I won't want it to end. A Wicked Saga is a must-read series for JLA, new adult, fantasy, and paranormal romance fans. Even if faeries aren't usually you're cup of tea, the author does not get deep into the normally complex fae history, so don't let that scare you off! Pick up Wicked and Torn today!

Five hundred and seventy six days since I read the last sentence in Wicked. Five hundred seventy six days waiting and anticipating the return of Ivy and Ren. A couple I fell hopelessly in love with over a year ago, but who is counting? Right? Well, I can tell you that the phrase good things come to those who wait may have been written just for this book. I could jump right back into this story without even missing a beat, almost as if I never left. Like the best friend, you haven’t seen in ages. The one where no matter how much time passes you can fall into a comfortable groove with. This book is that best friend for me.
Torn picks up where the previous book left off. If you haven’t read it, I recommend you do. You will need to read it before the second in the trilogy. The first thing that jumped out at me was Tink, that brownie is the perfect best friend, and well I was happy to learn there is so much to him then I thought. Second, Ren and Ivy may be my new favorite JLA couple. Sorry, Katy and Daemon. It’s really close though. A strong and powerful duo like Ren and Ivy is hard to be matched. Fighting for the greater good, saving lives of humans, all without anyone really knowing that you are part of the order sworn to protect humanity from evil Fae. Then there is the hot factor, not the kind that will burn you, but the passionate and all encompassing kind of love. One that comes around once in a life time. Those’re just some of the reasons why they are at the top of my list.
This is far from the mushy love story, but it wouldn’t be a great JLA book if we didn’t love the hero and the heroine for everything they represent. The action and adventure kept me turning the pages, and not wanting to put down my kindle. Then there were the twists, revelations, and the nail biting.
I didn’t want this one to end. I craved this one for so long that I became instantly addicted, but when it comes to JLA, she is quite the story teller. She can weave a story so beautifully that you may be reading a book, but truly it’s a work of art. I’m looking forward to seeing where the third book takes us. The possibilities are endless, and I can’t wait to find out where Ren and Ivy’s journey goes.

Look, I love basically all JLA books, so I shouldn’t be surprised but I truly adored Torn, even more so than Wicked. It’s been a while since I have been so invested in a book. I’ve been in a big reading slump, but I devoured Torn in a way I haven’t devoured a book in about two/three months and the feeling was wonderful. I love all things JLA, but Torn ranks up real high on the JLA favorites list.
I absolutely adore Ivy. She is so so strong and I admire that strength so much. She doesn’t give up and she is willing to make sacrifices for those she loves. I love how kickass she is and that she refuses to go down without a fight. I also love her sass. She doesn’t always think before speaking and I love it. Poor Ivy is put through the wringer in this one, but she is tough as nails.
Then we have Ren and Ren is basically the best. Ren has a lot of competition since JLA is the queen of book boyfriends, but he holds up well. Ren is such a great mix of alpha and beta hero. He is protective of Ivy and wants her safe and is obviously a badass, but he also knows she can handle herself and doesn’t hold her back. He lets her do her thing and helps when she needs it. It’s awesome and I love their dynamic.
I would be remiss if I didn’t take the time to talk about Tink because Tink is THE BEST. He never failed to crack me up. He is so funny and he steals every scene he is in. Tink is easily my favorite of all her secondary characters and it hurts me to betray Deacon this way, but I love Tink and I relate to him (don’t judge). While we are talking about secondary characters, I gotta talk about our newest character Dixon cause love. Basically this book has a great cast of supporting characters.
Torn has such a great balance of romance and action. Of course I adore the romance between Ivy and Ren and I loved the steamy scenes, but I also loved everything else the story delivered. The plot was awesome and non-stop and the action was fantastic. This whole world and concept is awesome and I love this take on fae. I love how the world expanded in this one and the twists delivered.
Torn was a great read from beginning to end and I simply devoured it. Waiting for the next book is going to be torture.

I am one of those fan followers of Jennifer Armentrout's that has been chomping at the bit to read her second story- Torn in the Wicked Saga. Centered around a world of paranormal creatures located in New Orleans, Torn is every thing I expected it to be and so much more. Armentrout picks up exactly where she left off with Ivy Morgan, Halfling Order Member and Ren, an Elite Order Member whose sole mission is to kill all halflings. Throw in one hilariously funny brownie fairy named Tink, a whole lot of crazy Fae, and you've got one hell of a book that you'll find yourself quickly addicted to.
Although we have waited long and hard for Armentrout's second book in this series, it was completely worth the wait. She really holds nothing back as the immerses you into her world she has created, selling you once again on the characters and making you fall in love with her story. Although Torn is a bit more dark, a little more real, and a whole lot more serious, Armentrout was still able to use her quick witted humor when writing this book. Whether it be Tink's obsession with the store Prime, his love of sparkly vampires, zombies and house elves, or his undying devotion to Ivy, Armentrout was still able to give us a lighthearted, fun character with Tink. His antics and banter with Ivy and Ren kept me laughing throughout. Armentrout was smart to combine Tink's lighthearted character with Ivy and Ren's serious storyline. It's her ability to balance out her stories with humor and engaging plot that keeps me coming back read after read.
Like all second books, Torn leaves you hanging, wondering what will become of our beloved characters. Will they have a happily ever after? Will they stop the evil Prince from taking over our world? Armentrout definitely leaves you with a sense of urgency and a need for resolution as she ends Torn. I can't wait to see what will become of the halfling, the Elite, and that not so little brownie in their final adventure. Armentrout's next book in the Wicked Saga just can't come fast enough!

This is a classic Jennifer Armentrout book. And that’s a very good thing! She gives the reader everything they expect and want in this type of story…humor, mystery, adventure, evil bad guys and, of course, scorching hot moments. This second book in the Wicked series starts immediately after the end of the first one and throws you into Ivy’s head as she comes to terms with being a Halfling. She’s confused and filled with grief but, as I expected, there’s so much more for her to experience that this almost seems like the least of her worries. The adventure continues as the Prince of the Fae begins his quest to take over the human world…something that Ivy will do anything to stop.
Just like I did in the first book, I loved Ivy, Ren and Tink. Ivy was smart and brave in this story. She was fierce and refused to accept her fate, doing all she can to fight the evil that seems to have unbeatable power, the Prince. Of course, Ren just won my heart all over again. He’s got such a big heart and his devotion to Ivy is definitely swoonworthy!! And Tink…oh Tink…we learn so much about him in this story and I can’t help but love him even more than I did before. He brings such humor to this story and his love for Ivy is undeniable. Together, the three of them make a great team…even if Tink and Ren don’t always see eye to eye. Ivy is lucky to have them both in her life.
It was good to be back in New Orleans with these characters and I enjoyed the continuation of this adventure. Of course, we now have more unanswered questions and the evil Prince is still lurking about so I’m definitely looking forward to the next book. Sadly, it won’t be released until next year so I’ll be going through Ren and Tink withdrawals but, there’s always the reread!
If you enjoy paranormal stories with humor, adventure, mystery and romance, this series is definitely for you. Go ahead and give it a go, I think you’ll really enjoy it!

urprise, surprise, I loved this book! Seriously, I don't think Jennifer can do wrong. This book was just as good as I was expecting it to be. Jennifer expertly weaved humor, romance, action, and mystery into one beautiful story.
I always know that I am going to laugh when I pick up a Jennifer L. Armentrout book, and man, I laughed A LOT while reading this book. The humor in this book just felt so natural. The dialogue flowed so well, and it never felt like it was being forced. I just love the way Jennifer seems to effortlessly include humor in almost every scene.
Some of the plot lines in this book were a little predictable, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the plot! I was completely addicted to this book. I read it in one sitting because I refused to put it down.
The romance in this book killed me in the best way possible. I LOVE REN AND IVY TOGETHER SO MUCH. THEY ARE SOUL MATES. THEY ARE PERFECT LITTLE ANGELS. I ADORE THEM TOGETHER. I just have a lot of strong feelings about them, okay?
The characters in this book and series are all fantastic. Each character is unique in their own way, and I love that Jennifer gives each character special quirks. All of the characters have depth to them and they all feel genuine. I care for Ivy and Tink like they are my precious children. Ren is my husband. I do love him with Ivy, but I also want him to be with me. REN IS PERFECT. HE IS KIND, SMART, CHARMING, FUNNY, PROTECTIVE, AND JUST ALL AROUND GREAT.
HOW CAN JENNIFER CONTINUE TO CREATE SUCH SWOON-WORTHY MALES? HOW DOES SHE DO IT?!
Anyway, it is easy to tell that I loved this book. Fans of Wicked and/or paranormal romances will eat this book up. I highly recommend this book and series to everyone!
WHERE IS BOOK THREE?! I NEEEED IT.

I’ve literally been waiting for Jen to release Torn since I finished Wicked back in December 2014. For someone who never really got behind PNR, I was amazed by how much I loved that book. Fae were never really my thing… but Jen TOTALLY made them my thing. There was a crazy wicked (haha, see what I did there?) cliffhanger at the end of the first book and I’ve had grabby hands for book two ever since. It was absolutely worth the wait.
Drama! Action! Romance! Twists! Torn had it all. It picked up right where Wicked left off. (Of course, I’m not going to tell you where that is, just in case you haven’t read the first book yet. Which you need to do something about if you haven’t…) I got answers to questions left by the first book and, naturally, new questions to think about before the third book, Brave, is released. Ivy handled the shocking events from the first book pretty well, all things considered. I liked how strong she was in this book, when faced with some seemingly impossible situations and choices. Ren is as swoony and sexy as ever. Tink had some surprises up his sleeve this time around, but he still kept me literally laughing out loud like in the last book. I loved the romance and the edge-of-my-seat action. It was the total package. (And it also gave me a mad craving for beignets.)
It was so good to be back in New Orleans, in this magical world Jen has created. I love Ivy, Ren and Tink (oh my god, Tink!) even more after book two than I did after the first. Torn was a perfect continuation of the Wicked Saga. And while their isn’t quite the cliffhanger in this book as there was in Wicked, I NEED BRAVE. Like, now. The wait might kill me. (I might be being a little overly dramatic.) But, for real… I can’t wait for the third book!
I received a copy of this book from the author.

There’s a certain kind of delicious comfort that I experience every time I open a Jennifer L. Armentrout book. I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that I’ll enjoy it. She’s one of those rare authors that I just love everything she touches with words. Sometimes I just enjoy the ride, other times I am left agape and sometimes I just can’t control my fan-girl flailing freakouts. TORN, the sequel to last year’s Wicked, was one of those agape/OMG-freak-out books.
TORN picks right where Wicked left off with our main girl Ivy having on helluva bomb dropped on her life. The majority of this book is Ivy-driven and watching as she tries to reconcile who she thought she was with who she really is. There’s a beautiful, utterly human sadness as you watch Ivy try to decide between hiding from what she is and confronting it. Yes, the situation is entirely paranormal, but at some point, everyone face that moment: Will you acknowledge and embrace something? Or will you hide it away from everyone and ignore it?
Of course this book is also full of Armentrout-patented hotness in the form of Fae hunter Ren and his relationship with Ivy. Ren is protective and sweet and a little overzealous (props to Ivy for standing firm in her wants and not acquiescing to Ren when he wanted her to stay home or by his side so she was protected), but you can’t help but love him. Their relationship is true with lots of give and take and conflict that isn’t quickly resolved by a quick roll in the sack.
I can’t wait for the next installment next year. This series is definitely one of my favorites by one of my favorite authors. It’s a fun, paranormal take on the New Adult genre (something NA desperately needs more of). Check this one out ASAP!

The sequel in the Wicked Trilogy. I really did enjoy it. It had more adventure and drama to it in this one that further delved into the Otherworld aspects and regarding the drama about what occurred at the end of the first novel, Wicked. I felt as though the pace was good. The writing style was easy to read. I have to say that the relationship between the main characters, Ren and Ivy seems strong but there was a conflict that arose between them and I felt as though Ren handled it like an idiot. But it all worked out in the end. Of course, this book ends on a cliff hanger because the remaining "battle" will take place with the resolution in the final novel set to release in December 2017 called Brave.

My Thoughts:
Torn was the ultimate reading escape! As I jumped in to the sequel of Wicked, I was carried away by the yumminess of Ren. Jennifer Armentrout creates the most drool-worthy and dreamy male leads. He captivated me with his sex-appeal, and the way he treated Ivy! Tink continued to entertain with his ability to frustrate Ren, as well as his obsession with the store, The Walking Dead and getting a new kitten. Tink is just all kinds of fabulousness with his ability to make me laugh, and let me tell you, he surprises readers in this installment, in a moment that you will never see coming!
Ivy grows tremendously as a character, in the sequel. She becomes so much stronger, resilient, and courageous. She is willing to sacrifice for the one she loves, and I admired her grit, stamina, and the constant fight in her! She is truly a warrior!
The suspense escalates in this sequel of the Wicked Trilogy. Secrets of the Order's history are revealed that were pretty shocking. Also, we get some ominous new members to the New Orleans division in The Order, one of which Ren despises with good reason! The prince is determined to woo Ivy, and remove Ren from the picture. However, we see just how cold, manipulative, powerful, and unscrupulous he is in the sequel. There was a ton of action, allies in the most unlikely of places, and plot twists that kept me glued to my kindle.
My Rating:
I give, Torn, by Jennifer L. Armentrout 5 Swoon-Worthy, Secrets Revealed, Danger, Trauma, and Suspense Filled Stars!!!

Oh JLA how you weave such a splendid paranormal tale.
TORN picks up immediately where WICKED ended (yes, you must read WICKED first. But trust me, you absolutely won't mind jumping into JLA's Fae-infested New Orleans). Ivy is trying to pick up the pieces after her first confrontation with the Fae Prince and the betrayal of her best friend. She's not sure who to trust, but she knows she must stop the Prince from his creating his apocalypse baby and save our world from being taken over by the Fae.
Ren is the one person Ivy really wants to trust. She has deep feelings for the Elite member, but she's scared that once he finds out what she is that she'll lose him. Ivy isn't alone in those feelings and Ren will pretty much do anything for her. But they don't easily come to that conclusion and they have an enormous obstacle to overcome once they're in a place to discuss what happened. JLA has this knack for giving her awesome couples seemingly insurmountable obstacles that test the strength of their relationship. The same holds true for Ivy and Ren, but when they come out the other side there is absolutely no doubt that will overcome whatever obstacle they have yet to face.
I can't wait to see what happens next with this series. Everything Ivy was taught to believe has been turned upside down and those that she thought were enemies may not be. I'm sure it'll be a fantastic showdown.
If you loved what Jennifer L. Armentrout did with aliens and Greek Gods, then you must pick up this series. You can't put it down.

There is a reason why Jennifer L. Armentrout is my favorite author: her writing is addicting and I'm always in need of the next book in the series because she is an amazing storyteller as she draws you in with her draw-dropping plot lines and hilarious characters. Also, I loved being back in the world with Ivy, Ren and Tink!! Who couldn't love that fairy who loves to order on the store almost about everything. Torn definitely did not disappoint!!
It picks up right where we left off in Wicked as we get to see what is going to happen next. Everything heats up the romance, action and the stakes as Ivy learns more about herself as a Fae and the reason of the Order. Plus we get to see more the Prince who is a very interesting character and what he has planned for the world + Ivy. He sheds shows her his plan to make her choose the others and protecting herself. I really enjoyed the humor that Jen adds with the banter with Tink and learning more about him as well.
I still love all the characters so much that I wish Torn never ended because Ren is still hotter than ever especially during some scenes. Overall, I am very happy with this addition and can't wait to read the final book to see what will happen. Thank you Jen and Kelly for allowing me to read this book (hugs) Definitely recommending the series to everyone!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed the sequel of Wicked! Knowing that there would be more into the plot after that cliffhanger of the previous book I was content to see Ivy and Ren trying to solve the mystery of the Prince as also overcome their difficulties.
Honesty, the pace was slow but it was quite covered with lots of funny moments, action scenes and a mystery which the Order never thought to solve.
And Tink! Glorious, funny, amazing Tink! He is a star of his own who desrves at least a novella to my opinion. :)
Jennifer Armentrout is an auto-buy author for me because I never get bored and always, swoon, cry, laugh and enjoy every book of hers!

Please RateTorn (A Wicked Trilogy Book 2)
While reading found several grammar errors and the text size in the paperback is not consistent which is annoying while reading.
