I've read every single one of Armentrout's books. I love her writing style, he world building and how real she makes her characters. But this book... This book showcases her skill to a whole new level.

The characters are real and believable, the theme is one that we all have faced or know someone who has. The storyline revolves around this:

"Until one choice, one moment, destroys everything."

That one choice that changes everything. That one moment, I know most us have lived as well. That moment when you don't listen to that little voice in your head and cave in. Most people get lucky. Some don't. The story evolves around that one moment and the consequences that follow.
The book has a romantic side to it. It is JLA after all and she does it so beautifully, it's impossible to to read those parts without big grins on my face. But the story is so much more than love between friends. This is a book about forgiveness and it is beautifully crafted.

This book did not disappoint—JLA delivered on all the feels and true-to-life pain that resonated with me, and I think will resonate with almost all YA readers.

What Fed My Addiction:

Peer pressure.
How many times have you found yourself in a situation where you knew you should react in a certain way, but you didn’t want to rock the boat? Even as adults, I think we still find ourselves in these situations occasionally—as teens? Definitely. Lena is a smart girl. A good kid. And she makes a mistake—does something that she knew she shouldn’t do, but it would have felt awkward and pushy to do the right thing. And she has to live with the consequences of her bad decision. She has to live with the guilt that comes from knowing she should have done it differently. I think that this concept is pretty much universally relatable, which makes the story that much more powerful.

A full cast of characters you can’t help but love.
Every character in this book felt real to me. Lena’s friends, her family, the boy she loves… they all feel like people I could have known in high school. All wonderfully, perfectly flawed but there for Lena—or at least trying to be. (Okay, there are a couple of people who aren’t so good at being there for Lena, but part of the book is about repairing those relationships.) I loved the portrayal of realistic, messy relationships and how Lena’s personal issues get in the way.

All the feels.
I felt everything when reading this book, and I couldn’t put it down!! I read the whole thing in two sittings (it would have been one if I hadn’t forced myself to put the book down and go to sleep at one point) and I enjoyed every single minute!

What Left Me Hungry for More:

Not much.
Sure, there were times when I wanted Lena to stop beating herself up and let people in, but that was sort of the point of the book, so I don’t know how I can hold that against it. This is JLA at her best and I loved it!

This book reminds us that every choice we make has consequences, but we don’t have to be defined by our mistakes. It’s about the miracle of love and life and second-chances. I give it 5/5 Stars.

Lena is looking forward to her senior year. She's doing well at school, she has great friends and she has a nice job. She's also in love with Sebastian, her best friend. She thinks after many years she might even dare to tell him how she feels. However, her positive flow comes to an end when something terrible happens. One moment changes the course of Lena's life forever. Could she have prevented it from happening and can she handle the guilt she now has to live with?

Lena's whole life has unravelled. She seemed to have a glorious future ahead of her and now the last thing she wants to think about is what she's going to do tomorrow, let alone next year. There's something she hasn't told anyone and this secret is tearing her apart. Will Lena be able to move on and find a way to deal with the consequences of what happened to her on one awful night? Will she be able to tell anyone the truth, so she can share her burden or will she keep struggling with it on her own?

If There's No Tomorrow is an impressive story about love, loss and consequences. Lena is a kindhearted girl. She loves books, she enjoys spending time with her friends, she likes good food and she has a huge crush on the boy next door. She's like a lot of other teenagers, but that changes in one fatal moment. My heart ached for everything she had to go through. Lena has a lot to deal with and she doesn't know what to do with the abundance of overwhelming emotions, they make her feel so bad that she feels she's stuck and therefore she's unable to talk to people. She used to be a cheerful girl, but now she has to discover who she is again and find a new equilibrium. That complex process was moving to witness and it made me tear up quite a few times.

Jennifer L. Armentrout has written an amazing thought-provoking story about a difficult, but very real topic. I loved her honest approach of the situation. She doesn't spare her main characters, she doesn't sugarcoat the situation and she gives her readers the opportunity to make up their own minds about the subject matter. I love the way she does this and the combination with a strong story makes If There's No Tomorrow a gorgeous gripping read. I loved this terrific book.

I am crazily obsessed with everything Jennifer Armentrout writes. EVERYTHING. She’s one of my all-time favorite authors so it’s no surprise that I straight up devoured this book. JLA had me sucked in from the very first page and made it impossible to stop reading.

I adore YA contemporary romance books, and I have to say, this might be my new favorite one. It’s emotional and gut-wrenching, but also sweet and has the cutest romance. We all know JLA writes the SWOONIEST heroes ever. And Sebastian? That boy is so sweet, caring, and just an all-around amazing guy. I loved their relationship.

If There’s No Tomorrow is beautifully written and delivers a powerful message that I think every teen should hear. It’s raw, real, and honest. It’s a story that will stick with you long after you finish it.

This was my first experience reading an Arementrout book and everything I’ve heard about her books is true, she will crush your heart in the best possible way, similar to Colleen Hoover. Her writing is raw, highly emotional and so relevant and important. This will be put in my small stack of books to have my kids read when they get older, it’s a must.

Books about vulnerable teens always get me right in the feels and this was no exception. It’s told solely from Lena’s perspective and broken into yesterday, today and tomorrow. It’s not told over the course of just three days in her life but rather the time before a major event, during and the time afterwards. I just loved Lena, she’s a bookworm who would rather spend a Saturday night tucked in with a Sarah J. Maas book than out at a party with friends, but she’s not a total loner. She has a tight knit group of friends and a best friend, Sebastian who was quite possibly the sweetest, most endearing kid I’ve read about in a long time. After a devastating tragedy, her and her friends are shaken to their very core and she must find a way to look forward to tomorrow.

There was such an authenticity to this book, both in the scarily believable plot and the behavior of these teens. The dialogue was dead on, these kids were genuine and wholly realistic, I feel like if I had been eavesdropping on a group of teenaged friends their mannerisms and conversations would’ve been exactly like the ones portrayed in this book.

I do want to mention that it gets off to a pretty slow start, but if you hang in there after the first third it gets better. Once it picks up the pace it’s full steam ahead and turns into something beautiful and powerful that took me on quite the journey. Much of it was absolutely gut wrenching but extremely poignant and touching, again every teen should read this the lessons inside are unforgettable and vitally important.

ARC given in exchange for an honest review

2nd** time posting.

Thank you to Jen and her assistants for letting me read this story for an advanced copy.

Sebastian and Lena, they are the epitome of how beautiful love is. You never truly think about it but what if there was truly no tomorrow. For some, there isn't but this makes you thankful for the life you live and the people in it.

Lena has some of the best of friends. Part of the volleyball team, she is looking for college scholarships to help her mom out with the funding since there is much struggle. However, she does her best and works her butt off to be the best person that she could be. Megan and Abbi are her best of friends and each of them are some of the beautiful souls that you will encounter.

Tragedy strikes their hometown and it is the saddest thing. My heart hurt but this is a whole story of tragedy, forgiveness, and redemption. When this comes out, it is truly a time where you need to read this in just one sitting.

I LOVED SEBASTIAN and LENA. Like with all of my heart.

Lena Wise is starting her senior year of high school. She is an honor student who also plays varsity volleyball and works part time. Lena has a tight circle of girlfriends from school but her best friend is named Sebastian. He grew up next door and they have been been friends since childhood. The only troubling thing in her life is that she wants a romantic relationship with him. She is afraid to tell Sebastian how she feels fearing that his feelings are not mutual.

Sebastian plays football and is under pressure from his father to continue playing throughout college. Lena’s parents are divorced, and she has not been in touch with her father for years. Their relationship develops into a trusted sounding board for each other's problems. Their friendship gets tested one evening when an error in judgement redefines their lives forever.

This is a Young Adult book written by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Having raised a pair of teens I could relate to this authentic depiction of the struggles of today's youth as they progress towards adulthood.

Listened to this one on audio borrowed from Hoopla through my library.
Good story overall, angsty but that's teenagers for you. Really moving when it talks about guilt, grief, etc. Those are the strongest parts of the novel because they are raw, real, and everyone can relate in some way even if they haven't been through that situation.
The parts I didn't really care for--these just didn't seem like real teenagers, at least not any that I know. They were just a little too perfect--seriously, what teenage boy who sneaks into his best friend's room and lies next to her on her bed every night would be able to turn off his hormones enough to hide his true feelings FOR YEARS? That part of the story just didn't really ring true.
Otherwise, it's a solid YA book with a great message overall.

Just like every other Jennifer Armentrout book, it starts off fast and just keeps going strong.

It's unlike any other book she has written. A touch of romance, a bit of drama, and a giant dose of questioning.

This book was raw, and sad. I sincerely hope that anyone who has been through this and still hasn't lost the guilt will read this book, and I hope it helps them. It could very well help so many people.

Jennifer Armentrout is an amazing author and a wonderful person. I sincerely hope she publishes many more books.

ITNT is a rollercoaster of emotions, and I think that has more to do with the fact that we have all been where Lena has. It's those few moments that can change your life, but when you're young, peer pressured, and not wanting to be "that friend" it become life or death. What I loved the most about this book is that you can feel he raw emotion as Lena comes to the realization of what her choices ended up costing her. But what is the biggest punch to the chest is the overall change in her and Sebastian's relationship. Although she isn't at fault for what happened, her guilt pushes him away, and she has to learn how to be herself all over again.
Overall I think JLA hit home with this book in so many ways, and people can relate in so many ways. Whether you've been that person who got into the car, or lost someone because of another's choices, or been that person at the wheel, anyone can relate and take away the most important lesson this book gives: don't trust when others say they're fine, because it could cost you more than you're life.
Great job, JLA!

Jennifer L. Armentrout just knows how to captivate a reader's attention and creates something that'll certainly satisfy his/her reading taste. If There's No Tomorrow is a story about two childhood friends, Lena and Sebastian, turning into lovers eventually. Lena had experienced a terrible car accident and all of her friends in that car were dead; hence, she felt responsible for their deaths and that guilt had eaten her alive ever since. I really enjoyed reading JLA's writing style and how she plotted the story; though I did see her usual pattern in writing YA contemporary romance, I don't mind it. All in all, this is a rather enjoyable read for me and I'll surly recommend it to everyone!

Lately I have found myself enjoying more and more young adult books. This was no exception. The author puts you through a range of emotions reading this book - sadness, laughter, thought provoking - all things that made a book a good one. I was reminded why I am glad I am not a teenager anymore and have to go through some of the things that these kids today do. Jennifer did a good job of developing these characters and making them feel like someone you already know. The whole story pulls you in right from the start and will keep you reading long into the night. I plan on passing my book along to a few young adults I know as I think they will enjoy it as much as I did.

“If There’s No Tomorrow” is no exception. Thanks so much to JLA and her team for the ARC of her newest book for me to review! What a wild ride this book was, for me and for the characters within.
I would categorize this book as a deep (and sometimes dark) drama with some romance.
I want to warn everybody out there with any kind of guilt-triggers or depression-triggers that this book may be difficult for you. I’ve never dealt with guilt like this and can’t imagine depression like this, but I had to put down the book for a day to give my mind some space from it. This is your official warning.
Lena Wise is our main character, who, after an accident, is left with survivor’s guilt. She buries herself in her guilt, pushing away her family and friends. It takes her a while to come to terms with what happened and to learn from her mistakes. It’s so real and tangible, which is how I believe that mental illnesses and issues should be dealt with. Lena is such a strong character that you can’t help but love her and want to protect her. But like everyone has to, Lena has to shed her naivete for the chance to move forward. It’s such a powerful message that it brought me to tears...several times.
With all of these heavy issues surrounding Lena, she also has a love interest in the form of her childhood best friend. In the grand scheme of things, I didn’t think a love interest was necessarily needed, but I enjoyed it all the same. For a while, I thought the love interest was just kinda floating around the book with no purpose other than to be a love interest. While I suppose this could be true, he has his own character arc and issues to deal with. I went back and forth for a while, wondering if I really liked him or not. Eventually though, I ended up really loving him. What won me over was that he was there for Lena during her “quiet period.” She was so depressed she could barely do anything, because she just didn’t care anymore. He realized how much she was hurting and wouldn’t leave her side. Le sigh. If only we all had people like this in our lives....really, we all just need JLA’s male characters to come to life to love us. Haha!
“If There’s No Tomorrow” is another amazing read to stack up on your ever-growing Jennifer L. Armentrout book shelf. It’s an essential for every fan of fiction books, and anyone that is looking for a way to move on. It’s inspiring and phenomenal. It’s JLA.

At first the audio reader sounded too bubbly, over-doing the teenage girl voice which I can now see after listening to the entire book it was acted that way on purpose to give a before and after voice to the character Lena. I thought what Abbi and Lena's mom said to Lena after the accident was horrible. I like how Sebastian or Keith handle talking to Lena much more. I thought the story brought up several worthy discussion points. I do believe Keith's parents are at fault, not 100% but they should have never provided the means. If you're doing a strict take everyone's keys at the door, maybe but the whole scenario didn't sit well with me.

Has anyone ever been disappointed by a JLA book? I mean seriously how is it possible that regardless of genre or subject, I love everything she writes. I'm usually a picky reader, but I know if JLA wrote it, it's worth picking up.

This book was definitely no different. I was hooked in the beginning and am still hooked after it ended. It's a book that I wish I could reread and experience the emotions over again. She packed every emotion into this book and it's great. I love the messages she packed into the storyline, and of course the romance. There is never a shortage of swoon worthy book boyfriends with JLA, and Sebastian has been added to the list.

Definitely recommend checking this one out. You won't be disappointed!

I liked how this book started with yesterday - you got to understand the friendships, the dynamics and to know the characters. So that when the event happened, you felt the impact. You felt what Lena was going through, the devastation of what happened hit you as the reader. You might not necessarily agree with how she worked her way through it and got to tomorrow but you could understand. I loved Sebastian and would have liked an epilogue, I wanted to see the HEA - she had been through so much and dealt with it - she deserved it.

I think every teenager should read this book. Not only is it entertaining, but it has a great message. You will feel all different kinds of emotions while reading this book. I laughed. I cried. I got angry. I was happy. I think I needed to visit a grief counselor. I could see this book helping someone through grief/loss/guilt without it being a self-help book.

I really enjoyed this YA book. The writing was excellent and it dealt with a very important subject, drink driving. I thought the grief and aftermath were handled really well and I found myself staying up till 1am to finish the book. This is my first book by this author and I know it won't be the last. The characters of Lena and Sebastian were well done and I found myself feeling all of Lena's emotions throughout. I cried from about 90% till the end and found the ending of the book to be really well done.

I absolutely loved this book, from the very first page I was hooked.

Lena and Sebastian are best friends and neighbours. Lena has been in love with Sebastian since forever. I loved seeing their friendship turn into something more.

Lena is struggling with the guilt of the choice she made which ended in tragedy. It was great to see her character overcome this obstacle in her life. Lena's character is very down to earth and easy to relate to, she isn't perfect and does make wrong decisions.

Sebastian is fantastic, he is very understanding when Lena opens up to him about her feelings. Unlike other characters that come off as a bit harsh.

This book started off will humor, centered on tragedy and ended with a bit of a thud. I loved the realness of the characters but sometimes real people aren't the most fun to read about. This is a good cautionary tale about the choices we make and their consequences, this is not a rom-com don't let the first third of the book fool you! A good discussion starter for teen book clubs.

What a epic emotional roller coaster in the best way possible. We all face decisions in life but it’s the decision that can twist fate and either be good or bad. Will you be the voice or not? This book was so amazing and devastating but such a positive motivation and all adults and teens would benefit from this read.

An unexpectedly emotional standalone from JLA, but so profound and beautifully written – along with the humor, wit, sweetness and romance that I have come to expect from one of my favourite authors. This is one girl’s journey through heartache, despair, guilt and grief and is a story that I am sure will touch a lot of hearts.

17-year-old Lena is about to begin her senior year of high school. Apart from her key goal of enjoying her final year and scoring a volleyball scholarship, she’s also dealing with the fact that she’s in love with her neighbour and best friend, Sebastian, and has been for years. Luckily her fantastic group of girlfriends have her back in all things. It’s gearing up to be a great year for her… until everything changes. All at once, Lena’s life is completely derailed. Everything that she thought she wanted seems completely out of her reach now, and the lives of her and her friends and family will never be the same again, and she has no idea how to move forward.

I don’t want to give the story away, because this is a read that you just need to dive in and experience, but be aware that this is a really emotional read. I thought I was prepared for the feels, but the nature of the story and its emotional impact took be completely by surprise. The subject matter is intense, and its impact is profound, and my heart ached for Lena and all that she went through. It’s the kind of book that makes you think about your past and the choices you made, and it’s the kind of book that I think a lot of teenagers would benefit from reading. Lena’s situation is heartbreaking but it’s completely relatable, and I think that is what makes this such a meaningful story as we watch her battle to reclaim her life and be ok again.

But there is more to Lena’s journey than heartbreaking intensity and emotion. There’s also a beautiful childhood-friends-to-lovers romance as Sebastian is by her side pushing her forward, and the two of them get to explore the emotion that has been building between them for years. And damn, but that boy turned me into an epic cougar because he is absolutely perfect! Fun, sweet and completely swoony, I just loved him.

I loved this book. Yes, it was heartbreaking, but there were moments of humour, sweetness and fun and all of the different facets of the story were blended together perfectly. And as always with JLA, her character dynamics were spot on. I laughed along with the hilarious banter, and fell in love with Lena, Sebastian, and their friends. I was fully immersed in Lena’s journey from start to finish, and thought that JLA handled an emotional topic in a respectful, relatable and sensitive way, in a story that was ultimately uplifting. It was really wonderfully done.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher and didn't realize that it was a YA book until I read the blurb. My first thought was to put it down -- I don't read YA. Then I decided to try the first 50 pages - after all a lot of my adult friends read YA - just to see what it was like. After that I read anther 50 and then kept turning pages until I got to the end and I realized that I had been disliking a genre of books that I'd never even tried to read. I've decided that it's time to expand my horizons and try some different genres.

Lena is ready to start her senior year in high school. She has several great girlfriends to hang around with and they tell each other everything. Lena isn't much of a party girl - she'd prefer to stay home on the weekend and read. She has a major crush on the boy next door and even though she has known Sebastian for almost her whole life, he still treats her like a kid sister so she keeps her crush a secret. One night at a party, Lena makes a life altering decision that will change her future and those of her friends in ways that can never be made right again. After that, Lena quits looking ahead to tomorrow...she doesn't want to go back to school or finish her college applications and she doesn't know if she can live with herself in the future. With the guilt growing each day, Lena knows that her only hope is to move on. But how can she move on when she and her friends’ entire existences have been redefined? How can she move on when tomorrow isn’t even guaranteed?

This is a well told coming of age about a problem that happens every day when a bad decision is made but it's more that that -- it's about a mistake that anyone could make at any time in their lives - not just during their teen years - and a story of how to deal with the guilt after a bad decision.
